White House urges Abbas act against Islamic Jihad

Don't hold your breath, Steve. From Reuters, with thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist:

WASHINGTON, Oct 31 (Reuters) - Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas must crack down on Palestinian Islamic Jihad in the wake of the suicide bombing in Hadera, Israel, last week, White House national security adviser Stephen Hadley said on Monday.

"Palestinian President Abbas earned the trust of his people when he was elected on a platform of peace this past January. Now the Palestinian Authority must make good on that promise by fighting terrorism," Hadley said to a pro-Israeli group.

"We have made it very clear to him, especially in the wake of the vicious attack in Hadera, that he should begin by acting promptly and forcefully against Palestinian Islamic Jihad," Hadley said in prepared remarks for the American Israel Public Affairs Committee National Summit 2005 in Los Angeles.

He should "begin"? He should have been doing this already. His illustrious predecessor should have been doing it. But instead, both have made abundantly clear which side they are really on, to anyone who wishes to assess the evidence realistically.

Steve hadley is well advised not to expect Abu Mazen to do what he and yasser undertook to do as part of the Road Map, which was "to dismantle" terrorist groups, collect weapons from all but authorized security personnel, etc.
Steve should bear in mind that abu mazen and the PA/hamas, etc., know from experience that they will get much $$ from Uncle Sam whether or not they do what hadley says they should do. So isn't hadley being a hypocrite as much as abu mazen and his gang of thugs [wearing suits or not wearing suits]?

It's time to dismantle the road map and tell the EU to stop giving Euros to the PA, to stop interfering in affairs in which they are either making things worse because they are dumb and ignorant, or because they are disingenuous, hypocritical, and deceitful themselves.

Abbas: "Yes, Steve, I know, I know. But you see the reason we can't do anything about these groups is we don't have enough weapons and training for our official security forces. Yes, yes, I know you've already poured in millions, but the fact is they're out-gunning us Steve, that's the trouble. We need more guns, bigger guns, more expensive guns."

How does that Buddy Holly song go:

"That'll be the day..

Or that old can of meat ad where the can cannot just say moo, "cause he aint got it in him"

Because of Islam and what we know of Islam - Abbas (Arafat II) cannot take this position, because it isn't his position, except when he is lying, which then is acceptable in Islam if it defends or extends the Ummah of Islam.

Why doesn't the White House just say: "please lie to us so we can justify giving you millions of our taxpayers money so they won't be too angry at our stupid position squandering the money for the sake of appeasement."

Don't hold your breath

We have made it very clear to him, especially in the wake of the vicious attack in Hadera, that he should begin by acting promptly and forcefully against Palestinian Islamic Jihad,"

That is truly amusing when one considers this report:

The events of the past few days have shown that many of the militiamen belonging to his ruling Fatah party are operating openly together with Islamic Jihad in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
Islamic Jihad operative Luai Sa’di, who was killed in an IDF operation in Tulkarm earlier this week, had been working closely with Fatah gunmen in the area.
Sa’di’s cohort, Majed al-Ashkar, a senior leader of Fatah’s armed wing, the Aksa Martyrs Brigades, was also killed in the IDF raid. Sources in Tulkarm said the two men had formed a joint Fatah-Islamic Jihad cell responsible for a series of attacks on Israel over the past 18 months.

and what about Fatah's al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade?
Does the Whitehouse have no Intel?

No, they have the CIA, a disloyal band of Arabists with no interest in any policy on Islam other than abject appeasement. Same for State. A quick look at the Vanity Fair cover shot of Valerie Plan and Joe Wilson will tell you that.

By happy contrast, DIA is giving the armed forces excellent Intel. Their agents are loyal and disciplined.

Seems to me that fairly recently, when Abbas threatened to crack down on one of the factions, or did, two of the factions let it be known that an attack on one (Islamic Jihad) would be deemed an attack on both (Al Aqsa), and both have arms-length relationships with the PA, many of both being on the payroll as security forces.

I believe Connie Glick wrote about this in the Jerusalem post in an article about "Good Terrorists", but I'm not positive, having read a lot of good stuff from her and Khaled Abu Toameh recently.

haz The Joe Wilson/Valerie Plame affair has nothing to do with them being Arabists. It has to do with George W. Bush cooking up false information to justify the invasion of Iraq, an item that was on the agenda even befor 9-11. And the invasion was counterproductive, it has ruined our economy and wasted our resources and the blood of our troops and hasn't done a thing to fight the Jihad much less terrorism, and to the contrary it has actually helped the Jihadi's by providing them a recruiting tool and a training ground, just like Clintons misbegotten adventure in Bosnia did.

Bush and his people lied to the American PUblic to justify the invasion of Iraq, for purposes that were not stated, and still haven't been honestly.

That my friend is treason.. And worse it has done absolutely nothing about defeating the International Jihad, nothing I say, but it has helped the international Jihad, for reasons stated above.

There are a lot of perceptive "Islamophobes", or "anti Arabists if you wish, that were and are against the invasion of Iraq and against the continued occupation.

Nariz...treason is a federal crime. Not reporting a federal crime when you know of one, is also a federal crime. It is also a federal crime for the report recieving official to do nothing about it. If you have proof that Bush commited treason, a federal crime, then you must report it to the authorities or you are a federal criminal yourself.
If you dont have proof then your charges are baseless...or at least you cant prove them...

It looks like Bush still thinks the muslims are on our side. Jesus, he limps me out.

Hey Nariz:
Spoken like a true leftist, rambling, long winded, and spouting nonsense.
Inactivists and cowards can stay at home, but I hope that's not in America, and we already have too many draft dodgers in Canada.

God bless America.
