Will London burn too?

Patrick Sookhdeo assesses the failure of multiculturalism and the risks for Britain and Europe in The Spectator:

The Muslim community in France is well on the way to becoming a millet, a state within a state. The only substantive goal still outstanding is the implementation of Islamic law (Shariah) instead of French law.

Muslims in France have by and large rejected the concept of the integration of individuals and are working instead for the integration of communities. The same is happening in the UK, where the concept of multiculturalism has long been popular.

Patrick Sookhdeo speaks a deal of sense. he speaks it from a Christian perspective of love for God's children, while having no illusions about their beliefs.

I visit the website of the Barnabas Fund (for persecuted Christians) as regularly as I do JW/DW http://www.barnabasfund.org/

I would strongly recomend all UK correspondents here to buy a copy of the book Islam in Britain the report of the Institute for the Study of Islam and Christianity which is an arm of the Barnabas Fund. You don't need to be a Christian to appreciate the message. It's not dear and it does what it says on the tin. Which is that "It is a detailed study of the position of the British Muslim community, as at February 2005 and looks in particular at the growing influence of Islam in media, education, politics, law and finance, and the way in which the UK is becoming subtly islamized.

Quotations from organisations such as the Islamic Foundation in Leicester that "The Islamic movement is an organised struggle to change the existing society into an Islamic society based on the Qu'ran and the Sunna and make Islam, which is a code for entire life, supreme and dominant, especially in the socio-political spheres." They made that statement in 1982!!!! How far they have come. Chapters explaining Taqiyya and Islamist dissimulation, Muslims and the victim culture which are relevant elsewhere.

Delivery is quick. I ordered extra copies and my Vicar now has one.

Mr Spencer, Hugh and Rebecca, if you do want a copy I remain happy to donate the price of one +p&p to your research resources.

I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Granny W - thanks for the recommendation. I'm definitely going to buy that, in order to clarify what Sookhdeo means by this bit:

Even Islamic law is already semi-established, in that a multitude of Shariah councils and Shariah courts exist which deal with family issues, effectively creating an unofficial parallel legal system within the UK.

A very good article. The only aspect I would quibble about is the way he refers to 'radical' Muslims, for example:

'Radical Muslims hope for the re-establishment of the Caliphate....Some radical British Muslims used to believe in a ‘covenant of security’ which forbids Muslims living in the UK from engaging in military action within the country the most radical of all hold that the covenant of security applied only to Muslims who had sought refuge in Britain.'

This is a bit misleading, as it implies that there is a form of moderate Islam that repudiates these ideas. There is not. There are, of course, many Muslims who do not think along these lines, but this is because they are ignorant or apathetic about their religion.

The Spectator is always worth a read - Granny W, now you're a Telegraph convert, it is only a matter of time before you get the Spectator bug. (I like The Times, too, but The Guardian, putting it politely, is not fit to wrap your chips in.)

Finally, some people not only get it but get the implications for our modern world. Best of all, they get published.

The Robert Spencer (among others) Paradigm Shift is finally underway.

Beagle;

Yes, but can it possibly make an effect in time? Time, and reproductive fervor are squarely on the side of the muslims. Demographics are their best weapon. Next best is cultural indoctrination and the PC mantras that promote guilt and paralysis. Western societies have a bad habit of getting tired of being murdered and even though they might wait until their backs are against the wall, or sea, they finally wake up and start kickin' ass and takin' names. But by breeding exponentially and steadily administering the sedative-hypnotic of leftist dhimmitude, they can simply wait for the day when the stand up and say, "OK, now it's going to be like THIS".

A well written article written a journalist with more courage than most. He did visit Grigny and described exactly what he saw.

France is getting so bad, even the pigs are committing suicide.

"The Eurostar was an incalculably heavy, irresistible mass of hurtling steel; the pig a hopeless, minuscule excrescence of gristle and sinew. It was, therefore — if we anthropomorphise — palpably a suicide attack. You see, even the wild mammals have had enough of what’s going on in France and have taken recourse to direct action"

Popped down to the Champs de Mars today at 2pm, in front of the Eiffel Tower, to see if the zombies were going to be there on masse as they threatened to do.

Didn't see much except 4 CRS buses and about 50 armed soldiers.

Oops. It appears I read the wrong article. I quoted from the Spectator article by Rod Liddle 'The Crescent of Fear'.

As he stands in the shadows of this room, IA786 upon hearing this quote from Abdujalil Sajid, an imam from Brighton, nods in hearty agreement:

I think secularism has gone mad. The separation of church and state has gone to the extent that even the believers are not finding any space in the society where they live. Let us create a modern Islamic state; then you will see where fairness and justice will prevail.

Granny W, I have been a supporter of the Barnabus Fund for a long while.

May I remind all that Barnabus Fund helps the most marginalised, victimised and persecuted people on Earth - Christians in Muslim nations. Even a small donation to Barnabus Fund, like the proverbial widow's mite, has great impact.

Europe would be a good place for gun runners to make some money. The govenment will not protect you or your property people. Its up to you.

DP111 Yes, I recall previous of your (very interesting) posts on that organisation.
I first found out about the fund from a flyer in church, a little before my discovery of this site, but that is not so long ago.
The Barnabas Fund has a particular appeal for Christians in the area of Kashmir affected by the earthquake. People who are likely to be pushed to the back of the queue when aid is given out. Anybody reluctant to donate because they fear their gift will be diverted to jihad, or who feel that the rich Moslem nations of the Gulf should do more, but whose natural urge is to help might find that the Barnabas Fund programme hits the spot.

Lisa, you have again hit the mark dead centre.

Now, if only there were two of you, islam could accept your argument, being that it thinks you're only worth half of what you are.

...wait: not an infidel, are ya?

Well, I am, for I am

Prophet Geoff

Not that riots in London wouldn't be terrible but haven't the British endured much worse without giving in? I doubt Britain will ever be taken by violence.

(Not that riots in London wouldn't be terrible but haven't the British endured much worse without giving in?)

My feelings excactly. However, if britain and Europe is ever finally conquered, it will be because of treachery and from the inside. Eventually Europeans who still have the stomach for a fight will be outnumbered. Oh well, no good being pessimistic.

I totally agree, Britain will only fall(God forbid) through multi-culti and dhimmitude.

There'll Always Be An England

I give you a toast, ladies and gentlemen.
I give you a toast, ladies and gentlemen.
May this fair dear land we love so well
In dignity and freedom dwell.
Though worlds may change and go awry
While there is still one voice to cry - - -

There'll always be an England
While there's a country lane,
Wherever there's a cottage small
Beside a field of grain.
There'll always be an England
While there's a busy street,
Wherever there's a turning wheel,
A million marching feet.

Red, white and blue; what does it mean to you?
Surely you're proud, shout it aloud,
"Britons, awake!"
The empire too, we can depend on you.
Freedom remains. These are the chains
Nothing can break.

There'll always be an England,
And England shall be free
If England means as much to you
As England means to me.

-WWII song

Just think, if those brave guys were around now we'd have nothing to worry about.

Before Paris there was Bradford

I fear that the craven slime who suck up to this religion, represented by the chattering classes and Al-Guardianistanistas who seem to control the media and public institutions and other Useful Idiots such as human rights lawyers will greatly help the cause of the establishment of the Caliphate. Just tune into Islam Channel on the satellite channel and you'll see what they're up to.

By the way, Tariq Ramadam is in today's Al Guardianistan using the facile language of the left to seduce the readership. I bet Maddie Bunting is all of a wobble and weak at the knees.

london girl, just dont watch them any more, you'll never them say anything new, it will just depress and anger you.

I caught the Spectator bug a few years ago, and I have never been able to shake it. I hope Taki has a word or two about France in this week's edition.

This week's Spectator is very good - on the front page the title Eurabia - with three in depth articles about what is occurring in France. I get it on subscription. The rest of the media has the predictable blackout, the PC brigade don't have the guts to tackle this subject - depressing as another poster said upthread. I still read Al-Guardianistan occasionally. It is so blatantly pro Muslim that it doesn't even try to pretend to be objective anymore. A very good website is BBC Watch set up by a Jewish lawyer in London to monitor the blatant anti Israel bias of this organ. The Spectator has never been afraid of publishing non-pc views even if they offend.
