An unwelcome guest

Before the America-hating Left makes a hero and martyr out of the Rumpled Academic, it would be nice if they took note of the bolded material in the first paragraph. But I don't really think that would bother them. An editorial from the Sarasota Herald Tribune:

During a five-month trial that ended this week, the U.S. government demonstrated that former University of South Florida professor Sami Al-Arian is a hate-filled man who thinks suicide bombings are swell. But prosecutors failed to prove that he committed any crimes.

On Tuesday, a federal judge in Tampa announced that a jury had acquitted Al-Arian on eight counts related to terrorist activities and deadlocked on nine other charges.

Some jurors said that prosecutors failed to show that Al-Arian's rhetoric -- protected by the First Amendment -- crossed the line into direct participation in terrorism.

The verdict, as one leader in Florida's Muslim community noted, "sends an important message that in post-9/11 America, Muslims can get a fair trial."

The trial also sent an unavoidable message about Al-Arian, who remains in jail while prosecutors review whether to retry him on the counts that produced no verdict. There's speculation he'll be deported, just as his brother-in-law and former USF colleague Mazen al-Najjar was a few years ago.

Bluntly put, America would lose little if Al-Arian -- a vocal supporter of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorist group -- leaves the country. Whatever his good qualities may be, they're obliterated by the ugliness revealed about him during the trial.

Al-Arian's attorney contended that he merely sent funds to the Palestinian Islamic Jihad for charitable work, but it's clear from the trial that Al-Arian was long aware of and sympathetic to the group's decidedly uncharitable activities.

Among the chilling documents presented in the trial was a 1994 fax to PIJ offices following a suicide bombing. Al-Arian wrote that "pride and glory overwhelm us."

Read it all.

I agree, but not all of what is called left is America hating, that's the problem with that phrase, it suggests that left equates to America hating.

There are, contratempts a lot of right wing thinking, a lot of America loving left.

That's the problem with modern use of labels and categories, left and right have becoming meaningless epithets, but they serve well as political rallying tools. Just typecast Us as good (left or right) and them as bad (right or left) and one doesn't have to spend time sifting and sorting and arriving at an independent conclusion.

Bluntly put, America would lose little if Al-Arian -- a vocal supporter of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorist group -- leaves the country.

I believe that the POTUS whom has appointed and controls every department in the Federal Government, especially Justice and Immigration can do just that, in fact it would not be a problem at all.. if nothing else an Executive Order could do the job.

Let's see what he does.

Here I was thinking there was no-one left in the MSM willing to call a jihadist a jihadist...go figure!!

Now all that is left to be done to get the fight back on track is to deport this man to whatever puke hole he came from....probably Egypt which is just my luck...another moron thrown into the mix!! Maybe its time to build that apartment on one of the pyramids at Giza that I've always been dreaming of!!!!

From there I might see the cruise missles flying overhead on their way to deliver a message to some brainwashed muslim...or I may just get sand in my eyes...LOL

Email this fool Anthony Lorenzo (http://www.heraldtribune.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20051210/OPINION/512100513/1029) at cirv@verizon.net. What a mo-rew-n.

When this guy sent American's money to terr they called it "charitable", I am very sick of that! To those terr and their supporters, we need eliminate them or we will die!

loler:

Here's a little perspective on that whack-job.

Yep. Anthony "smokeitupdawggyeahweed" Lorenzo is positively a complete idiot.

What we have here is true "misunderstanding" of Islam:

he merely sent funds to the Palestinian Islamic Jihad for charitable work

Yeah, the peaceful internal struggle someone feels before pressing the detonator.

He should be deported in a pine box!

Has anyone seen this?

Tolerance or Death!

European culture leaders should smack down fanatical Islamists. Instead, they're bending over for them.

Perhaps things are changing, ever so slowly.

Sorry the link isn't working on the above article try it from here:

Tolerance or Death! European culture leaders should face down fanatical Islamists. Instead, they are bending over for them...

btw: there is also a great article by Enzenberger (sp?)called the "radical loser" you can click on.

"What happens when a radical loser overcomes his isolation and finds other losers to give him recognition? Hey, he becomes an Islamic suicide bomber... "

I've long felt that the only thing wrong with American immigration law is that we don't enforce the laws we already have on the books. Al-Arian would be an excellent candidate for deportation--except for the fact that the First Amendment protects your right to be an anti-Semitic, lying, hate-mongering, schmuck; just as it protects your right to call Al-Arian by his right names.

and said, "The emperor wears no clothes."

Many thanks
to the editor
of the Sarasota Herald Trihune.

Don't forget we need to cut out the dhimmis in the FBI. We also need to get rid of Muslims working for the FBI who can make statements to the effect that "Muslims do not tape Muslims."

Now where was that rope??

WOW good of you to share that with us loler!!

How many people need to die before the morons like Mr. Lorenzo recognise that they are shooting themselves in the face.

An uneducated man like Mr. Lorenzo will only see the superficial aspects of this reality we call the world. He inanely likes the fact that an equally uneducated man found that the well intentioned Al-Arian was misunderstood or unfairly brought before the Court because of government excesses, which presupposes that it only happened because his only crime was being a charitable muslim. In my book muslim = guilty.

Suppose for a very brief nano-second Mr. Lorenzo is correct in his views. How is it possible then that he, a person who presumeably values the sanctity of human life, can not appreciate that giving "charity" to a KNOWN terrorist organisation is equal to ensuring that ONE MORE CHILD IS GOING TO BE BROUGHT UP IN A STATE OF DARKNESS who will eventually be driven to become a murderer in the name of his god AND who may one day end up killing Mr. Lorenzo's child/grandchild or for that matter MY CHILD!! I for one can't let that happen.

He must be educated. For that matter anyone who agrees with him needs to be educated on what it means to live in a free world.

A good way to start would be to send them off to lets say...Egypt for a nice familiarisation tour(NOTE not run of the mill tourist things) They need to go unaccompanied by the government trained tour guides and see for themselves what Europe and America will look and smell like in another generation.

They will see and become aware of the Hypocrasy, hate, intolerance, Deceit and Corruption which every singal muslim practices and which permeates their society from top to unwiped bottom. They will also realise that each and every muslim is completely ignorant of the meaning of life. For instance Muslims do not procreate in order to bring into this world a human being worthy of being called HUMAN. They do not nurture and educate their children to become doctors, lawyers, accountants or peace corp volunteers who would be in the eyes of the world better than their parents or grand parents. No of course not!

A Child to a muslim is seen as a blessing yes...but only because he(and now she)is one more soldier to be utilised and eventually spent in the glorious and righteous jihad!! They will become acutely aware that muslims instill in their children reasons and justifications to HATE another man, another human being, because he calls his god by another name. Or more matter of factly because the Quran(their bloody holy book) tells them jews and christians are not to be trusted and should be killed.

Come on Mr. Lorenzo show that you are worth the air you breath...get some education!!

This is what the Copts have been persecuted to.

I thought planning crimes and encouraging others to commit crimes was also a crime.
When will our judges understand that the suicide bombers have not enough brains to plan their attacks?
The Muslim cannon-fodder side relies on the likes of Sami Al-Arian in order to be effective.
It is people like him sitting at home who fill the muslim youth with murderous ideas.

Hush! my dear, lie still and slumber;
Gibreel guards thy bed!
Heavenly blessings without number
Gently falling on thy head.
and not a hair of thine will be out place.

And towards the end of 2005 a lowly Ahmadia female 40 year old said to the West "and we will do "nothing" .....and YOU will do nothing and the muslim ummah will prevail and thrive".

and YOU will do nothing and the muslim ummah will prevail and thrive".

Naseem the "muslim ummah" will never never prevail, it might get darker before it gets better, but as long as humans have freedom in their hearts, goodness will always win out over the dark cult of islam. iranians might know of the show down, in fact some fundamentalist Christians talk of it, perhaps they are right, as we can see with new technology news travels so very fast, people will find out the truth with the help of websites such as this, and the showdown between good and evil is inevitable. never doubt that good will destroy the evil cult you call islam.

O.J. too was acquitted. What's one to do? Fight the good fight.

The verdict, as one leader in Florida's Muslim community noted, "sends an important message that in post-9/11 America, Muslims can get a fair trial."

The above struck me as an interesting quote. Okay, I'm glad we established that Muslims can get fair trials. Now let's hang 'em all, and I don't want any appeals to those fair trials later...

I am truly and utterly appauled by what I have seen on this site. There are no words for the utter dissapointment I feel in my heart for the views that people possess, so extreme to the bias of the media they are exposed to. The meaning of Jihad is struggle.. The only permitted jihad in islam is that which is in ones defence or defence of the religion, aggression in any form is never permitted and anyone who commits acts of aggression is not muslim. Those of you who have drawn a line between good and evil calling islam an evil religion and laying acussations on the holy book the Quran. How many of you have actually read the book? How do you know that it is all that different from the Torrah or the Bible? Muslims themselves say that Islam is rooted from Judaism and Christianity. Islam is and always has been a religion preaching peace, it is true that there are extremists whom have misinterpreted the religion and have lead others in doing acts so far from the roots of Islam and any other religion for that matter. I do believe that in a GREAT country like America there is such a thing as freedom of speech and I do not agree with Sami Al-Arian, however he has the right to his beliefs we will not begin hanging others for their beliefs unless Americans would like to turn to the ideals of Saddam Hussein, the very leader they extradited. I am open to respond to any questions or comments, even critisisms I anticipate them.
