Egypt opposition leader says Holocaust a ’myth,’ lashes out at West

Everybody's jumping on the Holocaust denial bandwagon in the Islamic world. From AP, with thanks to all who sent this in:

CAIRO, Egypt - The leader of Egypt’s main Islamic opposition group said the Holocaust was a “myth,” and he slammed Western governments for criticizing disclaimers of the Jewish genocide.

The comments by Muslim Brotherhood chief Mohammed Mahdi Akef - made on the heels of his group’s strong showing in Egyptian parliamentary elections - echoed remarks made recently by Iran’s hard-line president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, which sparked international outrage.

“Western democracies have slammed all those who don’t see eye to eye with the Zionists regarding the myth of the Holocaust,” Akef wrote in a weekly article meant as a directive to the group’s followers on its official Web site....

It was not clear why Akef made the remarks, but his article was full of criticism of Western democracy, which he said “was drawn up by the sons of Zion.”...

Following the elections, Akef promised that Brotherhood parliamentarians would represent all Egyptians - Muslims, Coptic Christians, men and women - in an attempt to calm widespread fear of the group among Christians, women and secularists.

But in his Thursday article, Akef said the group will press to implement “the correct teachings of Islam.”

You Brothers, you are the guardians of Shariah. Your main concern should be the heritage of Shariah, which you uphold,” he wrote.

In case any of you missed it there was a muslim superbowl on CSPAN last night. It was a convention of MPAC (Muslim Public Affairs Coucil?). There were many distinguished speakers, all who extolled the virtues of islam.

The first speaker was a Mr Javeed Akhar who discussed the Covenant of Medina. It seems that this was the worlds first document that....."celebrated diversity" The wonderful Prophet Moahmed brought together various diverse groups and got them all to share power. It stands today as a marvelous example of pluralism. How wonderful!!

Next, former Chaplain James Yee spoke. He was initially accused of spying, but the Army later droped the charges. You know the Army motto "be all that you can be". Well that's exactly what the Prophet Mohamed said also!!!

The main speaker was someone warm to the hearts of everyone who visits this site. It was noneother than Dr Parvec Ahmed of CAIR. He too praised the multicultural virtues of islam, particulary Islamic Spain of the middle ages. It seems that this is a great example of many groups, all living in harmony, that debunks the Huntington premise of the clash of civilizations.

There were numerous other speakers as well, all of whom appeared reasonable and well prepared. They even had a speaker from the US state department. She spoke in bureaucratese at great length, but I had no idea what she said.

My general impressions are that most of the speakers came across as reasonable and agreeable. There was little, if any anti American vitriol. They may have simple been on their best behavior for the cameras. Yet non of the speakers condemned in any way the excesses of Islam. Most complained at how it was unfair to judge muslims by the actions of a few, but none of the speakers specifically distanced themselves from the terrorists. And herin lies their problem.

Holocaust denial isn't exactly a new thing among Muslims is it? But of course, they like to have it both ways, saying the Holocaust never happened and yet equating the devestation of Europe's Jewish population to the "Nakba" and mealymouthed claims that the "Palestinians" are being made the scapegoats for Europe's supposedly ignomineous treatment of its Jewish communities.

For anyone who missed Phyllis Chessler's excellent analysis of the mentality behind this bizarre circular thinking, as posted yesterday on frontpagemag.com and on DhimiWatch:

"...From a cultural and religious point of view, many Muslims have been relentlessly brainwashed against all non-Muslims and empowered to express themselves, often violently, when they feel shamed or dishonored. Systematic, normalized, but strenuously denied child abuse within Muslim and Arab families may also lead to a "paranoid" world view in which The Other is always blamed for one's own suffering. From a psychological point of view, most Muslims have been raised in shame-and-honor societies in which they have learned to blame others, preferably outsiders—never themselves. Consequently, their cultural skins are very thin; they lack the habit of introspection; and they are disinclined to take individual responsibility for their own mistakes. Above all, they have been trained never to criticize their own leaders, but to scapegoat the Jews and westerners for Arab and Muslim suffering.

This tendency makes many Muslims and Arabs uneager to hear—or, for that matter, tell—the truth. The blessed exceptions are usually imprisoned, tortured, and murdered either by their own families or by the state. Finally, too many Muslims have been deeply "Palestinianized,” i.e. empowered to unleash verbal and psychological intifadas, as well as actual riots and suicide terrorism on behalf of a presumably noble cause.

I highly recommend that you take the time to read the article in full.

By that logic, the half-million or so persons who have served as troops in Afghanistan and Iraq represent but a tiny fraction of us Americans.

PORK FOR STATE PORK FOR CIA PORK FOR STATE PORK FOR CIA PORK FOR GEORGE W

So then, why shouldn't these K Street Jihadists not embrace the vast majority of Americans as fellow Jihadists in pursuit of the same Dawa for the Ummah that ensconces us all?

"Most complained at how it was unfair to judge muslims by the actions of a few..."

Muslims try to emulate that pervert Mohammed in every way, why don't we just judge them on his actions?

Muslims only see their own grievances, no matter how outrageous the comparison may be.
No matter how devastating the other persons' grief and how jejune their own, Muslims are unable to perceive correctly; they have a defect of vision.

This may be an appropriate place to remind everybody, especially Notre Dame Univ and the Kroc Center, that Tariq Ramadan's grandfather was a/the founder of the Muslim Brotherhood [Ihkwan al-Muslimun]
