Many people have asked me to repost my article about Oriana Fallaci's address in New York City Monday night -- or at least a link to it.
In case you missed it, the article is here.
I am told that she has no plans to publish her address from that night, so this article may stand as the fullest record of what she said.
Oriana Fallaci has shown that the social democratic idea has turned into the death wish of Western civilization. Her comments on the application of hate speech laws is especially trenchant, since they sem designed to protect those whose speech tends to be most hateful. I only pray that her warnings have not come too late.
When I first read 'The Rage and the Pride,' I was thrilled by her evocative prose and emotional passion. Later, I had second thoughts, believing that such emotionalism rendered the book historically irrelevant.
I've since come full circle. I think 'The Rage and the Pride' is a poignant cry...a scream of defiance...from a civilization that is in terminal decline. If it should survive the Orwellian censors of tomorrow's thought police, it will serve the historical record admirably just as it is.
Bravo Oriana!
couple this with a spanish newspaper column that bemoans what europe lost when it imported 20 million moslems to replace the 6 million jews it killed.... was a worse bargain ever struck in recent memory?
I was surprised to read Oriana Fallaci mention a trilogy of books:
I have reserved a copy of the english translation to La Forza della Ragione, "The Force of Reason" which will be released in January .
Prior to reading this article, I was unaware of the trilogy . . .and wonder if the third entry "The Apocalypse" will be translated as well.
Her writings/philosophy are the precious and rare jewels that I treasure. May God protect her.

It is a trilogy, and Force of Reason has been pushed back twice, since it was originally to be published in July 2005.
The third book is a "double" book, as it is called "Oriana Fallaci interviews herself" and has an addendum called "The Apocalypse," based on the apocalypse of st. John. I've been reading this in spanish (ordered from Spain), and it is excellent, just as Force of Reason.
When I hear or think about Laws and policies, I always try to think of unintended adverse consequences.
For instance Hate Speech Laws..initially enacted to inhibit and punish antisemites, Holocaust Deniers, and racists.
Germany was the first to enact such laws during it's de NAZIfiaction process. It is still a crime in Germany to glorify the NAZI regime and publish anything which denies the Holocaust.
In Canada the law was used to silence Ernst Zuendel and extradite him to Germany for prosecution.
In England the Laws (including Libel Laws) were designed and constructed to inhibit and punish
antisemites.
Thus a tool constructed for one purpose, has been
adopted and used against the very people whom were protected by the law.
The same is true of such things as the Ten Commandments controversy. I personally find no problem with displaying Ten Commandments in public buildings, in having God mentioned on our currency, or in our pledge of allegiance, of honoring Christmas as an official holiday, but look at the unintended adverse consequences..
Muslims can now file a suit and claim equal recognition (and do so legitimately) for having the Koran displayed in public places, and for having the word God be officially recognized as meaning Allah.
And as KJ constantly mentions, Bush's Faith Based initiatives, has resulted in the U.S. Government, and our tax money being used to promote Islam and Da'wa, as the U.S. Government has an Islamic representative in each of the federal governments departments, each of which have their own Faith Based Office. These offices oversee and parcel out grants of tax payers money for "charity", and there is no oversight or restrictions on them.
And then there are the Chaplains of the Military and Federal Prison System, a situation which has no resolution, so long as there are Chaplains.
I'm delighted that the White House has gone back to calling the White HOuse Christmas Tree a Christmas Tree, instead of a Holiday Tree (stupid, shame, shame Abe Foxman), but along with that comes the baggage that the White House also recognizes Ramadan and hosts an Iftaar Dinner at Eid.
Once you open the door a crack, you have no control at whatever runs through it. Permitting public prayers, prayers before sports games, in public schools is one thing, but when that practise becomes a legal right or obligation, then the Muslims can rightfully demand Islamic prayers and that time and place be set aside for Islamic prayers.
And the problem is, that under our constitution and form of government, laws cannot be enacted to discriminate in favor of one religion against another. And won't be enacted considering the power and influence of Arab and Iranian oil money.

Since Islam will replace the Constitution with Sharia law once they have taken command of the country, maybe it is time we started seriously looking at a constitutional amendment that will in fact explicitly discriminate against Islam and disallow its practice, and prevent support in any way by the federal government. A constitutional amendment can deal with disparate subjects; so another element needs to be disallowance of Muslim entry or citizenship. Those Muslims who are here now should be encouraged to leave if they want to practice their cult of death.
It would need to be ironclad to permanently rid the country of this evil subversion. Any good constitutional amendment drafters on board?
We either save the constitution by discriminating against this vile filth or we loose it to the vile filth.
All i can say about this old woman is
WOW!!!!
What a WOMAN!!!
She seems to have more cahunnas then all the liberal weenies combined...
Its not liberal or right vs left..
We gotta wake up folks....
these Ilsamic Faschists mean it when they say
Off with their heads...
Why is it that the only ones who see the danger are either the old or experienced...
All the ones who go to college seem to have their head up their arse...
I posted some of her comments on my little blog and i got cursed at :) must be some truth to what she says after all ...
Those are the hottest, most cutting comments I've seen from Oriana Falacci. I agree with them except her condemnation of the right. She doesn't know it but she's conservative and will die a righteous conservative critic of the Islamic jihad and the demographic Jihad against Europe. She probably will also die believing in God
I prefer her to Daniel Pipes who turned away from her speech. But Pipes is very effective in his own way via his website and much more.
Fallaci has enough clarity of mind to know how to identify the threat we are in.
She has no illusions about the savage nature of Islam.
Long live Oriana!
I already have a link for that comicbook
And yea i loved it.
No wonder various countries have blocked the site :)
That woman is incredible..
Tough as nails..
Man i wish i could write as eloquently as she does..
God bless that woman
Orianni Fallacci is a truly great woman, possessed of remarkable insight, wisdom and courage.
I am deeply saddened by her tragic illness.
I wish her well and praise her for her great conviction. She has been a major source of inspiration for many, many Americans including myself.
And as for delivering us from Islam, Orianni has aided immeasurably in this struggle.
p.s--jingoist: seventy-five is not THAT old!! I call people in their 90s 'old' but NEVER when they are in their seventies. What's more Orianni has the mental vigor of a woman in her twenties now that I think about some of her writings.
