And why are we not as prepared as we should be? Because we have been told, and vilified and marginalized if we do not believe, that we are facing a Tiny Minority of Extremists, shunned and vilified by the overwhelming majority of peaceful Muslims, decimated by the war on terror, reduced to living in caves, subsisting on grass, whatever. Those who have pointed out that there is a remarkable ideological congruence between groups committing violence in the name of Islamic jihad from Western Europe to Indonesia, and that groups with the same ideology are operating even in the U.S., and that steps should be taken accordingly to defend ourselves, and that if we do not take those steps, these jihadists will continue to operate more or less unhindered under the cover afforded them by multiculturalism and tolerance, have been derided as a "fringe."
With the result being that we are woefully unprepared for another terrorist attack, because no pol is willing to take the un-PC steps necessary to prevent one, and no one in the mainstream media is willing to call the pols on it because they know CAIR will be screaming bigotry the next day, and the worst thing they can imagine in their puny little professional lives is to be tarred as a bigot -- which CAIR and its ilk well know, and manipulate skillfully.
And so we continue merrily on until the next attack happens, when it is an open question as to whether there will be anyone left alive to admit how wrong he was.
A word from the Stop The Presses Department, from AP, with thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist:
WASHINGTON - The U.S. is at great risk for more terrorist attacks because Congress and the White House have failed to enact several strong security measures, members of the former Sept. 11 commission said Sunday."It's not a priority for the government right now," said the former chairman, Thomas Kean, ahead of the group's release of a report Monday assessing how well its recommendations have been followed.
"More than four years after 9/11 ... people are not paying attention," the former Republican governor of New Jersey said. "God help us if we have another attack."
Added Lee Hamilton, the former Democratic vice chairman of the commission: "We believe that another attack will occur. It's not a question of if. We are not as well-prepared as we should be."
I realize that not all JW/DWers believe in God but I agree with the 'prior governor' that an attack is 'inevitable' as long as we continue to turn our backs on our Creator.
Label me a crackpot, a zealot, a fundamentalist, whatever descriptor you may, the attacks on Israel, the USA, and other God fearing (fearing as in knowledge, awe, love) nations will lose His protection and blessings.
Appeasers are aptly named "hollow men" and "men without chests" while our implacable enemy remains "beasts in human clothing".
Praying or His mercy, and
Oh yeah sharpening my aim......
Those two men are about as relevant as John Kerry. Their "investigation" was a huge waste of time and taxpayer money.
CAIR goes after even "Islamophobic" letters to the editor. I posted on that today.
Of course we're in danger! Crisis-management mode is the worst position to be in, and that's what our leaders do--all politically correct, but deadly.
Warnings like these are deft hedges, one must say. If an attack happens, these commisars can loudly proclaim "I told you so". If it doesn't, well, one could always happen tomorrow, eh?....
How many have credited GWB's admin with the fact that not one jihadi attack has happened in the US since 9/11? Dunno how much of such credit would be deserved, but it sure shows that using the military in the heart of arabia did have some salutary effect. Comapre that with how much respect a france or Spain has in the islamic world today....
CAIR goes after even "Islamophobic" letters to the editor. I posted on that today.
yes they do.....I've experienced that first hand....They attacked, and then the paper received a barrage of letter supporting what I had written....So let them waste their time trying to go after letter to the editor, they miss the majority of what's printed anyway.
Let them fumble about with this......They can't keep up, no matter how many "Islamophobe safety patrols" they have on duty.
They're really having a time with this too, as just recently Cal Thomas and Charles Krauthammer, two syndicated columnists have labeled Islam as a "religion of Satan, and barbaric"....

Where's that, DC? I missed it.

The norm, however, is how the majority of prisoners at Guantanamo have been treated. We give them three meals a day, superior medical care, and provision to pray five times a day. Our scrupulousness extends even to providing them with their own Korans, which is the only reason alleged abuses of the Koran at Guantanamo ever became an issue. That we should have provided those who kill innocents in the name of Islam with precisely the document that inspires their barbarism is a sign of the absurd lengths to which we often go in extending undeserved humanity to terrorist prisoners.

O'Reilly: Muslim Holiday ‘Absurd in a Judeo-Christian Country’
O'Reilly: Muslim Holiday ‘Absurd in a Judeo-Christian Country’
Media Matters, 10/28/05
http://mediamatters.org/items/200510280006
On the October 27 edition of Fox News' The O'Reilly Factor, host Bill O'Reilly called the idea of closing public schools for the observance of Muslim holidays "absurd in a Judeo-Christian country." O'Reilly made this remark during a discussion with Hillsborough County, Florida, commissioner Brian Blair, who opposed the Hillsborough County school board's decision to keep public schools open on Yom Kippur and Good Friday during the 2006-2007 school year, a departure from the school district's earlier practice of closing schools on those days. In December 2004, Hillsborough County Muslims, with the backing of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, asked the school board to close schools on the Muslim holiday of Eid Al-Fitr, which marks the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. Instead of giving students the day off on Eid Al-Fitr, the school board voted to keep schools open on Yom Kippur and Good Friday during the 2006-2007 school year, reasoning that the school district could close schools on days when a substantial number of students would be absent but could not close schools specifically for the observance of religious holidays. The school district will continue its practice of allowing students to take days off on religious holidays, although schools will remain open.
From the October 27 edition of Fox News' The O'Reilly Factor:
BLAIR: Well, in December of 2004, a gentleman representing the Muslim religion came before the school board and asked if Eid, which I believe is part of Ramadan, be recognized as an official school holiday. That went to a subcommittee, a calendar committee that's comprised of 28 members. Where these members come from, we still don't have the exact answers. I guess they're citizens, friends of the school board members, various people like this. As a matter of fact, I think there's a Jewish representative and a Muslim representative on the board. Of the 28, only 12 showed up, as I understand it. They gave them very little feedback other than the option of taking President's Day and turning it -- they basically gave --
O'REILLY: So a Muslim wanted a Muslim holiday, which is absurd in a Judeo-Christian country. I mean, we can't be having Hindu and Buddha. I mean, come on. I mean, this country is founded on Judeo-Christian traditions.
BLAIR: Absolutely.
O'REILLY: Those traditions have been in play for more than 200 years. Christmas is a federal holiday. You know, somebody walks in and says, "Well, I just moved here and I want, you know, this Shinto shrine." And you're going, "Well, look, this is a traditional American situation that we've done for hundreds of years." But now you knocked it out.

Incitement: Cal Thomas - Islam a Religion of Satan?

INCITEMENT WATCH: CAL THOMAS - ISLAM A RELIGION OF SATAN?
"One would like to see those Muslims, we are repeatedly told are peaceful, rise up to expose those who are not, but we continue to wait for that day to happen. Any religion that justifies the killing of innocent civilians, especially children, is a religion of Satan, not God. Such a twisted religion deserves not just condemnation but isolation. The West had better realize that such people will not be deterred with niceties uttered by US officials. They must be defeated and shown that nothing they do will cause us to surrender to their barbaric ways or change our policies to match theirs."
The 9/11 Commission apparently was tasked with government reorganization instead of looking at what caused the attacks on the WTC. Too many people view the second attack on the WTC in isolation from the global jihad which has been brewing since 1979 in the Shia community, and (ironically enough) 1979 in the Sunni community. Iran, Afghanistan: thanks Jimmy Carter!
"we are woefully unprepared for another terrorist attack, because no pol is willing to take the un-PC steps necessary to prevent one..."
And those pols are not operating as a tiny minority in a vacuum: those pols have the backing of millions, if not the majority, of the ordinary people they represent. Ordinary people who have been raised on PC.
The PC mentality influences from the bottom up, as much as from the top down. Our pols are PC because they come out of the general population, not because they are elites who have been imbibing exoteric ideologies in secret think tanks and nefarious gentleman's clubs, or strange Martians who have landed among us to be our leaders.
We are at risk because many do not see the U.S. fighting a real war. Remember WW2? That was started and nearly finished by now for the U.S.
We are fighting at near 60% capability, another front would require a draft to fully fill the armed services.
In a "real" war, Iran could be stopped tomorrow if we used everything we had. We are fighting a foe with one hand, and a gloved hand at that. Perhaps somthing the followers of Islam should consider.
I do not wish to see a "real" war, but if another attack happens, it may be what the world will witness again..

Dr. Pepper
I don't entirely agree with this. I live in the south, but I have lived all over the U.S. and three different times in Europe. I've been here for quite a while now and in a way it is a different world, maybe a better one. My friends and acquaintances come from a very diverse group of people including professionals, academia, politicians, and housewives. I have some liberal friends but they are my oldest, dearest friends and I can't help but love them despite our political differences. But other than maybe ten people, everyone I know and associate with are conservatives and most of them are engaged in some type of political activism. My friends, kids, and even strangers I engage in casual conversation are enraged about the PC attacks on Christmas and are actively and loudly voicing their anger.
I don't believe PC comes from the bottom up. I believe this scourge began in earnest during the 1980's in the public schools, but I know for a fact that it didn't infect my children or their friends. Nor did they succumb to left-wing indoctrination in college, although they were certainly exposed to it.
I think politicians take their cue from the media, which largely promotes the left-wing agenda. I think the PC infection of politics comes from academic elites, the media, and the high-profile minority group advocates much more than from "the bottom up."
In an effort to appear compassionate and non-biased, which I believe he truly is, GWB has bent over backwards in many ways to appease Democrats, going so far as to mimic their liberal-speak, social justice mantras and by promoting various social welfare programs. In turn, his advisers, cabinet members, and staff have parroted his liberal echoes. PC seems to be highly infectious and contagious. Politicians say whatever they think people want to hear, or whatever sounds good. We need to let them know we've had enough PC bullshit, and that protecting us from fanatical muslim terrorists is more important than offending the sensitivities of the miniscule muslim population.
opine6 said "Their "investigation" was a huge waste of time and taxpayer money."
The report was not an investigation in the sense that it was looking for wrong-doing or assigning blame.
It contained numerous specific recommendations for increasing security which have not been implemented:
- searching cargo on airplanes
- searching freight containers that are imported to the U.S. on freighters
- improving security at nuclear sites and chemical factories
- reducing on-hand inventories at chemical factories
- increasing intelligence sharing between CIA and FBI
Hard to guess which one will come back to bite us on the *ss. The only reason the report was a waste is because the Administration chose to ignore it.
Thankfully, the Homeland Security color-coded alert system (green, yellow, orange, red) has stopped any further attacks in the U.S.
Want to know how much more at risk we are? Read the following!
Here is a chilling report:

I don't know but methinks the BOX of Pandora is already open. It was opened by those who pandered to Teheran.
"The U.S. is at great risk for more terrorist attacks because Congress and the White House have failed to enact several strong security measures, members of the former Sept. 11 commission said Sunday."
Are they just now figuring this out? It took these jokers four years to learn this?
"It's not a priority for the government right now," said the former chairman, Thomas Kean"
Wow, this is just lovely. National Security is not a "priority." I'm so thankful to know that my government could care less if me and my family was bombed tonight by islamists. Thanks guys, I love you too.
"More than four years after 9/11 ... people are not paying attention," the former Republican governor of New Jersey said. "God help us if we have another attack."
This is the first intelligent thing in the article. He's right, we aren't paying attention, but then again, neither is our government or elected officials. They could care less, and most of Americans could care less. Unfortunately, while this is true, it is a very scary thing to think.
"Added Lee Hamilton, the former Democratic vice chairman of the commission: "We believe that another attack will occur. It's not a question of if. We are not as well-prepared as we should be."
And what is our government doing to prepare for this next attack? Here's our answer: "It's not a priority for the government right now."
Absolutely amazing.
I agree... because it is actually just a tiny minority who are causing the problems. For example, if you took four Islamists and put them on a deserted island, then undoubtedly out of those four individuals, there would be a tiny minority of extremists. Again, if for example there is a car driving along the highway full of Islamists, then it is likely that amongst the passengers there will also be a tiny minority of extremists.
I hope that I have made myself clear, to anyone who doubts the peaceable intentions of Islam.
FACT: In Australia recently (Oct/Nov) when the police rounded up some (planning) terror suspects, there was outrage in the muslim community. The Imams said that the police should have come to them first... THEN, when the Prime Minister (John Howard) suggested that in future the Imams/muslims could tip off the police about any terror outrages about to happen, one of the Imams appeared on TV and said, "We (ie: the muslims) are not policemen!"
In other words, we will complain like fuck when you arrest us, whilst at the same time, we will not give you any assistance (in weeding out the bad eggs) - because "we are not policemen".
the 9-11 was a total waste of time and money, it was used only to clear themselves up.. with member "Garfali", who was in Clinton admitistration, she helped create the wall between the CIA and FBI, with her on 9-11 commision, taints it too much to give any credence to findings. realistically it would be difficult to totally 100 percent to prevent every attack.

It's as if we're in a trance, dancing a slow dance, taking the lead of the Moslem Man.
The above statement is correct that the reason we have failed to mount an adequate defense is that the underlying premise for our ENTIRE DISCOURSE on the subject is false.
Therefore, there are only two options to avoid a catastrophe:
1) Expose Islam for what it is through a widespread PR campaign that lays out Moslem-acknowledged facts about the ideology and the brathtaking history Moslems have made,
or
2) Wait for the Big One.
We have chosen option 2. Or, more properly put, it has been chosen for us by our elites.
On National Geographic's " Inside 9-11", an anecdote was repeated about a high school muslim freshman
at a school within view of the Twin Towers..the student, in the week before 9-11 told his teacher.
"Those towers won't be there next week". This was confirmed by the FBI.
The obvious lesson is that we should not count on any help from 'moderate' muslims. A number of them apparently knew of an impending attack , possibly warned to stay away from WTC.
Lee Hamilton and Thomas Kean
Self serving idiots. Criminals for the Able-Danger coverup. 9/11 commission my ass.
Warnings like these are deft hedges, one must say. If an attack happens, these commisars can loudly proclaim "I told you so". If it doesn't, well, one could always happen tomorrow, eh?....
Violetti,
This is exactly my feeling whenever I see members of the 9-11 commission. They appear from time to time on talk shows in order to cover their own a**es.No credit at all is given to the Bush administration for the fact that there has no been an attack in the US in four years.
I am puzzled by the attacks on Kean and others. Should they say nothing? Should they say that the Administration is doing a fantastic job, concentrating on preventing weapons of mass destruction being acquired by those about whom one worries -- i.e. all Muslim states, all Muslim groups, all those willing to be bought by Muslim money. The Iraq venture should have ended once it had been determined that 1) there was no major weaponry 2) the projects to produce such weaponry had been thoroughly disrupted and 3) the weapons dumps all over the country had been combed, and many destroyed. That was it. That was the end of the matter. Once Saddam Hussein was deposed, that itself created the conditions -- perfect if allowed to develop -- that would permit the sectarian and ethnic resentments and hatreds to work themselves out, over a long period. Nothing should be done to create a strong, viable, and therefore dangerous to Infidels military power -- an "Iraqi" army -- in Iraq. Everything should be done to let the "Iraqis," such as they are, rearrange themselves, and arrive at some accommodation after open hostilities. Since it will come to that, why not let it happen now, without wasting still more time, men, money, materiel, and political capital that needs, like all the other things mentioned, to be husbanded for the long haul, and the long war, a war in which open combat will be only a small part of the proceedings.
Citizens of the USA should ponder the Second Amendment, and be prepared for the fifth columnists
to strike.
Yup, it sounds awful that it will come to that, but it will. Mohammadns here are armed, and willing, so
we better be too. Know where the terrorist centers
in your cities are. Every mosque is one.
You don't understand the Muslim mind, you don't understand the nature of Jihad. Zarqawi said "We are a patient people". It is westerners that demand and expect immediate results, the Muslims believe that time is on their side,so they pick and choose the targets, strike where the enemy is weakest, and at a time when not expected,, and they are patient.
WTCl, blind Sheikh, 1993,eight years later 9/11/2001.
What would be unusual and surprising would be a massive terror attack in the last four years, but be prepared they are certainly planning one, and it will be a doozy.
And you are also Americentric, forget not the Madrid Bombing, the London Bombings and all of the other thousands of terror attacks perpetrated by the crowd of cretins.
No Bush's Homeland Security is a joke, the FBI still does not have modern computers, there hands are tied by an unnecessary bureacracy (like FEMA's hands were tied during Katrina.. having to report to Chertoff for instance). And worse yet, the FBI is infiltrated by Muslims, especially the translation department which is totally controlled by Muslims, the one Sephardic Jew was relocated to a clerical job, because of Muslim exceptions, and your administration is totally coopted by the Muslims, be it Grover Abdullah Norquist, his best friend Karl Rove, the Saudis, their money and the Muslim vote.
And as you can see, this is how most Muslims convince the rest of the world how their much-ballyhooed sharia law is supposed to weed out bad eggs. Impressive, it is not. Hence, their so-called "divine" jurisprudence is a laughingstock embarassment because when it comes to "bad eggs" in the ummah, Muslims have no other recourse than to give kafir authorities the runaround while having no workable solutions of their own. This is what Muslims call "Allah's perfect way"? Any "god" of a religion that has "laws" that function like this would be utterly ashamed.
9/11 "Omission" Commission is a joke and was Sandy Berger, who got a slap on the wrist, stealing classified documents covering up Able Danger?
Read The CIA At War, alot is being done in dealing with would be terrorists but it never makes the news.
Politics corrupts the truth.
