Iran president: Islam is the solution

...to "arrogant and corrupt governments," that is. That means, of course, that he is advocating the replacement of the non-Islamic governments of the world by Islamic regimes. From UPI, with thanks to Mackie:

TEHRAN -- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said humanity suffers from arrogant and corrupt governments, stressing Islam was the solution to the world's suffering. Speaking Thursday at the city of Nikashahr in southeast Iran, Ahmadinejad said, "We see injustice everywhere in the world, as decisions to displace peoples and kill civilians are taken easily while arms factories compete to produce more lethal weapons," the official Islamic Republic News Agency reported....

Did you spot the inconsistency? He rails against killing civilians while wanting to wipe out Israel? No problem: he almost certainly doesn't regard Israelis as civilians. Any Israelis.

"Humanity is suffering from arrogant and corrupt governments and the only means for salvaging humanity is the implementation of Islam which meets all the needs of humans in terms of justice, prosperity, pride and peace for all humanity," he added.

Iranians are an interesting lot and I mean those that are Muslims.

On the one hand they claim to be Aryans, on the other hand they are against their Aryan ancestors and their true philosophy and instead willing to kiss Arab butt.

I have often put the question to many Iranians that if they are so proud of their ancestors then why do they worship the religion and people which destroyed the Persian civilization, its history, its religion and enslaved its people to become thrid class citizens in front of the Arabs?

so Gorkhali, what did they answer to your question?
it seems this iranian president is quite the lunatic, but smart as a fox. he is trying to goad the west, just like Hitler did in the 30's before he built up his army. the Europeans are appeasers like the Britain's Chamberlian of the 30's as well.

Iran seems to be getting more publicity lately. Like the MSM is suddenly publishing the outrageous statements by these nuts, but what they're saying now is what they've always said, it's nothing new.

I'm wondering if we are being conditioned for something that is planned in the near future???

Robert: "Did you spot the inconsistency?"

Yes Robert I clearly spot the inconsistency with this mad Islamic leader of Iran.

" Loose Cannon " President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is taking the Iranians down one lonely dark road to Israel.

My girlfriend is Persian and just moved from Iran to Canada 2 years ago. She is the most liberal pro-american, pro-israel, pro-freedom person you can ever hope to meet and assures me that MOST (80%) Iranians are just like her.

Iran was the only Muslim country to have a candlelight vigil after 911 (and got beat-up and arrested for it)

They have had Islam thrown down their throats since 78 and they are sick of it. They don't blame America or Israel for their problems, and would never legitimately vote in this douche-bag!

And incidentally, my gf mentioned that if you ever see a women in a full burka on Iranian news, you know its complete paid-off propaganda crap... as is forcing the Army to protest against Israel.

If there was any time for a coup, this is it!

JORDANR;

Hope to see that 80% speaking up soon, their "leader" is putting them in the worlds crosshair..

Every time this disgrace burps or f-rts, it is reported in the news. How much more fecalitosis from the master manure muncher will we be subjected to, before someone plunges that overflowing toilet. I happen to know that Israel has a huge toilet plunger, ready to remove Iranian clogs. The Iranian president, with a name to hard to pronounce, does not need nukes, he needs a good plumber...

"Humanity is suffering from arrogant and corrupt governments and the only means for salvaging humanity is the implementation of Islam which meets all the needs of humans in terms of justice, prosperity, pride and peace for all humanity,"

We can see that happening in Iran, Saudi Arabia and all other moslem dominated countries in the world and no wonder all are flocking to get in to Islamic countries !!!
Who is this savage trying to kid? The stupid idiot.
Ahmadinajad - go put a new 'bee keepers outfit"on your wife and just shut up.

"as decisions to displace peoples and kill civilians are taken easily while arms factories compete to produce more lethal weapons"

Wow, this guy knows how to describe Iran's policies very accurately.

I think Islam is the next 'final solution' for the jews rather than a solution to anything peaceful or useful.

Ya all the publicity means the West is going to up the ante real soon. There better be good intel from the inside. Better than Iraq. In this new war contracts need to be placed on the people running the regime plain and simple. Carried out by inside Iranians....A percentage of that 80% thats courageous and fierce. We can't OCCUPY. It creates enemies we didn't even have and then the problem gets much more complicated. WE CANT OCCUPY. WE have to SEEK (intel from inside) and destroy. No tanks. No helicopters. No infantry. Just a few people inside taking out the trash and guiding the masses to the ballots. TO THE BALLOTS not to the Russian supplied war chests. How can we get the average Iranian to lay down their AKs when the revolution starts. Their trigger fingers starts itching and important mercenaries have their missions threatened. The biggest job is keeping the masses focuses on a new political system so that once the necessary violence occurs they are busy building a constitution instead of focusing on confused urban combat and civil war. Plausible of pure fantasy?

My girlfriend is Persian and just moved from Iran to Canada 2 years ago. She is the most liberal pro-american, pro-israel, pro-freedom person you can ever hope to meet and assures me that MOST (80%) Iranians are just like her.

That applies to any Iranians I've met living over here. A close friend who visited Iran not long ago says it's also true of the Iranians he met. They know the damage Islam can do, unlike the Yvonne Ridleys of this world who see it through rose coloured spectacles.

The regime, of course, is a different matter. Iran's mad mullahs must not be allowed to have nuclear weapons.

Ahmadinejad is a fruitcake. In Iran particularly, the failures of Islam are clearly apparent. If Islam is the answer, what is the question?

Not a word here at JW about the Iraqi elections.

Hmmmmmm....

What a shame that the remarkable advent of particapatory Democracy in the heart of the Middle East is not perceived here at JW as even remotely significant in the struggle to bring the Islamic world into the 21st century.

The Left-wing web-sites are similarly silent.

Cornelius~ Uhm, he hasn't updated yet.

And even if he does comment upon it, There is going to be quite a mixed bag of views over the election. Even tho at least one voter was heard to say that they 'voted to make sure they did NOT end up with a religous government.' (Darned if I can find that article now...)

It will take 10 years to prove things one way or the other. One thing however- willing to bet the MSM don't take the Slightest notice to the dramatic lack of violence this time around.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said humanity suffers from arrogant and corrupt governments, stressing Islam was the solution to the world's suffering. Speaking Thursday at the city of Nikashahr in southeast Iran, Ahmadinejad said, "We see injustice everywhere in the world, as decisions to displace peoples and k!ll civilians are taken easily while @rms factories compete to produce more leth@l we@pons," the official Islamic Republic News Agency reported....

Inconsistencies abound far beyond threats against Israel and Jews. The mullahs are notoriously financially corrupt and rotten to the core. Despite all of its oil revenues, the economy is in shambles because of this corruption. There's money aplenty to support Hizbullah, Al-Sadr and who knows who else, manufacture explosives to help the "insurgents" in Iraq and develop nuclear facilities, but no money to rebuild Bam since the earthquake two or more years ago and many of its residents are still living in tents. How many people does Ahmadinejad's government t0rture and murder in its notorious prisons daily? How many young women who reject the sexu@l advances of mullahs are hung? What about the Arab minority within its borders that it is practicing ethnic cleansing against? Ahmadinejad differs little from most of Iran's mullahs and politicians except for his absolute lack of restraint in "public".

The only thing that's changed is that the MSM is very slowly and just barely awakening to this.

"Humanity is suffering from arrogant and corrupt governments..."

Does this mean that Islamic governments are humble, self-effacing and honest?

Does this mean that Islamic governments are humble, self-effacing and honest?

As long as they're Islamic, it doesn't really matter.

Cornelius - plenty at Harry's Place, a UK pro-war leftish-but-becoming-more-right-wing-by-the-minute blog.

Islam is the pollution....

Although many in Iran are dissatified with the present mullocracy, it is unlikely that they will take any action to challange the regime. The mullah's grip on power is too pervasive. Ahmad- jihad has recently purged his government and stacked many positions with dedicated hardliners. It will take more than a few university demonstrations to have any effect.

Only full blown scanctions or a sharp decline in oil prices would put the regime in jeaopardy. This is unlikely to happen, as there are too many greedy appeasors in the UN.

Get used to it - the mullahs are here to stay and soon they will have nukes.

What this guy really means is that he and his ilk are the answer. Well, if they are the answer, then it was a really stupid question.

interested and cornelius:

It really isn't about left or right anymore as neither side as they are usually recognized is homogenously for or against the invasion of Iraq.

What it's about is whether you really believe in freedom and self-determination and can recognize fascism and imperialism, whatever the skin colour or "religious" orientation. (In "Where have all the pacifists gone" -- wherein he slices and dices the hypocracy of the Committee for Nuclear Disarmament for their stance on Iran, Nick Cohen made a decent attempt at analysing and defining the paradigm shift, but erred in labeling one side as anti-fascist and the other anti-imperialist. The latter, however, are only "anti-imperialism" and "anti-war" when they think it's the imperialism of western civilization, but are beyond blind when it comes to the imperialism fostered by communism or Islam.)

It's nice to hear all these stories of decent Iranians, and I've known quite a few myself, but
I bet that 80% number is false.

Iranians from the modern cities may be modern,
but I think a lot of the country is not from
modern cities.

Who has the straight dope on Iranian demographics?

"Noy a word here at JW about the Iraqi elections."
--- from a posting above

There was a comment, deliberately posted the day before the election, so that whatever predictive value it has would be stronger by being made before, and not after, the event.

That comment was as follows: that the Sunnis who participated in the elections were not doing so as an alternative, but rather as a supplementary way to, express their intention to oppose the transfer of power and wealth to the Shi'a who make up 60% of the population in Iraq.

The comment went on to note that when the returns are in, no matter what they turn out to be, they cannot possibly satisfy the Sunnis who are convinced that they constitute 42% of the population (and that's not counting the Kurds), that if they receive, after their "heroic" efforts at voting, less than that amount of power, if they are forced to permanently surrender their dreams of domination, things will continue exactly as before. The great "achievement" of the election -- where a lot less is there than meets the Administration's eye -- is merely to insure what was already insured by the American invasion which toppled Saddam Hussein's regime: to wit, the end of Sunni Arab rule in Iraq.

And there was another thing noted. And that was that the trial of Saddam Hussein, like the Constitution which the Sunnis wish to have reopened, is not likely to "bring Iraqis together" as the Americans, so naive about Iraq and about Islam, hoped. Rather, that trial, exposing the very different attitudes toward Saddam Hussein (the Americans actually believed that the Sunnis would see him as a monster, whereas many see him, now, as their perhaps-not-entirely-pleasant strongman, protector, and defender of Sunni interests), will exacerbate the Sunni-Shi'a fissures.

That is a good thing. What is not a good thing is that the American administration, getting everything upside-down, thnks that those fissures are a bad thing.

A topsy-turvy analysis, where one mistake engenders another.

And yet, in the end, if the Americans withdraw within the next few months, leaving no important equipment behind, and simply allow things to take their natural course, all the while keeping up a steady patter of rhetoric about how "now it's time for the Iraqis to decide what they want in Iraq for themselves," this will in the end lead to the very "victory" of which Bush prates -- exactly by his failing to do what he wishes to do, and by letting Muslim nature take its course.

Interested,

Thanks for the link. It was...interesting.

Waterdragon52,

You're very wrong if you don't see this as a Left-Right issue. Until we repudiate multiculturalism - which is a construct of the Left, we can't hope to defeat Islam here at home or in Europe.

Hugh,

I could understand hoping for civil strife in Iran, where the existing regime stands in steadfast opposition to US interests. But to want Iraq to descend into chaos makes sense only if one is uninterested in differentiating between Muslim states and their respective policies.

I personally found it remarkable that 70% of the eligible Iraqi voters turned out. The construct of the hated occupier seems to have captured the imagination of the Iraqi people.

Truly remarkable.

Muslims think that by praising their own doctrine it is going to become more respectable. Their own vanity and arrogance blind them.

A good test of whether islam is worthy would be to grant full freedom of religion in their countries.

Otherwise whenever Muslims say things like "Islam is the solution" it is tantamount to saying "Tyranny is the solution".

OK Ahmadinejad, you want to uphold that islam is not a tyranny? Then grant full freedoms and stop the privilege islam has in the Iranian poklitical apparatus.

Otherwise Ahmadinejad (and all puffed up islamic leaders), you don't know how ridiculous you sound.

"We can't OCCUPY. It creates enemies we didn't even have..." - parainvesta

It sure does. Then we kill them. 2100 American soldiers dead to 30,000 Iraqi terrorists. I like those odds compared to 19 hijackers and 3000 civilians.

I'm sure every Muslim boy's heart beats and yearns for jihad. Sooner or later, however, they'll begin to see it as nothing but empty suicide as the armies of the infidels remain largely unaffected by even their best attacks and especially if the areas occupied by the invaders show a prosperity unmatched in the Muslim world.

OK, so I'm dreaming a little bit here but that's how I hope and pray it plays out.

the problem is that once a country is infested and infected by islam its extremely hard to get rid of it. spain was the only luck one!
all nations that are islamic were forced and will have a huge challenge to maintain their identity and culture and soul.
islam is the pollutant as DCwatson said it I also add poisonous.
Islam is the religion of the sword and will never hesitate to kill and torture anyone that opposes it.
