Moving Israel to Europe is an idea....but it won't work. In 30-50 years when the muslims are dominant in Europe (Eurabia as we all fondly call it here) the Israels will get get hassle in the future...better to say put or better still....the US as they will have the greatest (almost complete) support and security.

Question to the board . . . Iran makes no bones about their goal/wish of Israel's destruction. There hell bent on getting the bomb . . . perhaps months away.

What are Israel's options. How bout the Samsom option. I know the Iranian's program is spread out, with parts underground. But with air and a small suicide ground mission, the Israelis can do it. What will be the reprussions towards the US in Iraq? Against England in the south? Suicide strikes or even missle strikes at US forces?? Israel will need the OK from the US to attack for the simple reason that we control the airspace/sea space entrance to Iran. Cheney gave some sort of non ok/ok a year ago when he stated something to the effect that one day Israel may find it has to act alone. Diplomacy is a bust, going nowhere. Now you don't just have the Jihadist threat(BAD ENOUGH), but this guy in Iran seems like a total nutcase. Perhaps this will end our note in Iraq on a sour note, but I can't see Israel waiting much longer. This is the gravest existential threat I can think of. This is a threat(like Osirak) that the entire world would benifit to be without.

While in public, our 'friends' the saudis et al will stridently complain of Israel's 'unilateral' move, privatly they enjoy the bombing. This may, inadvertantly, speed the forces energizing our departure from Iraq and Iraq's eventual disinigration. I also don't think the Kurds will lose any sleep about this as well.

Seems to me, even if Israel promised W not to attack, this nutjob in Iran(Sadam at least had a modicum of logic), with his recent prouncements of wiping israel off the map . . . will lead Israel to the point of no return with missle strikes against the extraction facilities, suicide squads demlishing some of the underground bunkers as well. It won't be pretty, but Israel will get the job done.

If we could scoop Israel off the map - literally - and move them all here with the holy sites, America would be a richer place for it.

The left would get whackier, though, and swastikas would start showing up on the world scene again.

I think it might be safe to say that of the world's whackos, none are worse than the American left.

I've visited Israel every few years and have many friends over there. I've also invested in Israeli biotech companies so I know first hand the 'wizards of the Weizman Institute.' and the like. Israel is so out of place. From every measurable standpoint, they don't fit in the middle east. Books published. PhD's earned. Patents approved and pending--typically euro patents. Biotech companies, Telecom companies and high-tech companies. Farm companeis, defence companies . . . one could go on and on. Kind of like North Korea and South Korea in terms of cultrual/economic/political comparisons between Israel and the Arab world. This is a an existential threat to their security/way of life. Israel needs to destroy the nuclear program--or set it back 10 to 15 years. In the immediate period, there will be a 'dance around the flag' mentality within Iran, but questions will arise as time goes by, troubling questions concerning their society--where, I'm told, there is a large group of 'lost youth' who indulge in drugs and have no empathy for the regime's rule.

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Iran has signed a deal to buy Russian tactical surface-to-air missile systems, a Russian newspaper reported on Friday.

Iran is to buy 29 TOR-M1 systems, designed to bring down aircraft and guided missiles at low altitudes, said the Vedomosti daily, citing Russian defense sources close the deal.

The deal is the biggest sale of Russian defense hardware to Iran for about 5 years, the newspaper said. It did not say how much the order was worth.

Defense industry officials could not immediately be reached for comment.

Tehran is under intense international pressure after failing to convince the United States and others its nuclear scientists are working on fuel for power stations rather than bombs.

Russia is helping Iran build a nuclear power station at Bushehr.

Possibly Ahmadinajad should be asked if the Islamic Republic of Iran, in collaboration with Saudi Arabia and other countries full of tireless and thrifty wage-earners, would be willing to use some of their hard-earned oil revenues to pay for the digging -- the Biggest Dig -- around Israel in its Mandatory outline -- and that since land, and not people, matter in the Muslim worldview, all Muslims could leave, and then a river-sized ditch could be dug, and this, the ultimate ha-ha in some geopolitical Moor Park, would mainly have to be dug to separate Israel from the Sinai (which, in Egyptian hands, now threaents) and Gaza, but of course including Judea and Samaria, and all of the Biblical sites important to Jews and Christians. Like it or not, it is a uniting factor for the muslim world. Zanjani’s inauguration ceremony turned into a fiasco as students abandoned classes and held a demonstration. Zanjani’s turban was thrown off during the scuffles. One of the students detained after the demonstration has been charged with “insulting the clergy”.

It is easy to learn how to project manage, if you have competent people available that you can manage, and, to instill work ethic is also rather easy -- you educate children at a young age to think and act for themselves so that they can develop the free will that enables someone to want to do things. 'Want' and 'must' is the difference between 'can' and 'can't'.

Right now, Islam with it's rigid male-oriented social structure is contrary to forming an efficient and modern society, which is why the arab world is struggeling despite having so many graduates and so much money. The people lack the motivation and the privelidges of the free.

To run a modern country, you need men AND women to work, and you need structures that are built on merit and justice, and you need freedom (and peace) to innovate and invest. Moreover, people who understand and handle modern science are often not religious, since it runs contrary to their reality and education.

The drawback of modern life as you admire it is that once you have learn how to live, act and work like a modern and free person, then Islam will simply fade into unimportance, just like Christianity did in the West.

All that money would go a long way to funding the social benefits system. Which is the reason all the Western countries are allowing immigration. As far as islam gaining world domination.... i don't really think so for the same reasons that communism lost. It is an INFERIOR system.How long can you ask women to be subservient, de-clitorized slaves? How long can a "culture" survive a conflict with another culture with more than half of its population illiterate. The entire Muslim world has a GDP less than Spain. History has shown that inferior systems do generally fall apart.

As long as our freedoms remian intact and the towel heads are a small minority, no one minds the occasional honor killing and swastika perpetrated by them. But, once the majority of americans feel perpetually threatened, all bets are off. ugly, ugly things will happen to muslims. There were many Arab-Muslim collaborators with the Nazis, however, the leading one was Haj Amin el-Husseini who was the most important one of all, the most useful to the Nazi cause. After the Holocaust, when Husseini was allowed by the Allies to return to the Middle East, he was again acclaimed as leader by the Palestinian Arabs when his guilt had been well publicized.
Hence the Palestinian Arabs [whose main leader was this same Husseini] were very much guilty in the Holocaust, in partnership with others, of course.
