It was a gala evening at the Freedom Palace here in Secure Undisclosed Locationville when we awarded the 2005 Dhimmi and Anti-Dhimmi Awards, and the great Cox and Forkum were there.

Bee-yoo-tee-full!

Cox and Forkrum are a hoot. Have always loved their pro-America (some may say, aggressively nationalistic) jokes and toons. Of course, apologies to the (tiny minority of?) lefties here, something tells me they aren't gonna enjoy it too much.

Fantastic photo! It would appear that a wonderful time was had by all -- 'cept the two sourpusses on the right... they do not look well pleased... it's only appropriate...

I myself was nursing a flu, and couldn't attend...

Praps next year?

You've come a long way Baby!!

I remember when it was only 3,000,000 WOW!!!

The strangest episode came from an appearance by Senator Jay Rockefeller on Fox News Sunday:
WALLACE: OK. Senator Rockefeller, the president says that Democratic critics, like you, looked at pre-war intelligence and came to the same conclusion that he did. In fact, looking back at the speech that you gave in October of 2002 in which you authorized the use of force, you went further than the president ever did. Let's watch:
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
ROCKEFELLER: I do believe that Iraq poses an imminent threat, but I also believe that after September 11th that question is increasingly outdated.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
WALLACE: Now, the president never said that Saddam Hussein was an imminent threat. As you saw, you did say that. If anyone hyped the intelligence, isn't it Jay Rockefeller?
ROCKEFELLER: No. I mean, this question is asked a thousand times and I'll be happy to answer it a thousand times. I took a trip by myself in January of 2002 to Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Syria, and I told each of the heads of state that it was my view that George Bush had already made up his mind to go to war against Iraq, that that was a predetermined set course which had taken shape shortly after 9/11. [emphasis added]
What was the second-ranking Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee doing in Syria, a country which perennially finds itself among the top listings of terrorist-sponsoring nations, discussing President Bush's decision-making on the war on terror with Bashar Assad, one of the worst sponsors of terror in the months after 9/11?

A GOOD READ AND WHEN ARE THEY GOING TO PUT HIM IN JAIL???

WHO AGAIN WHO SAYS DEMOCRATS ARE NOT A DANGER TO THE SAFTY OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE AND WHEN IS THE SENATE GOING TO FIND OUT AND EXPOSE THE LEAKER OF CLASSIFIED INFO ABOUT PRISONS?
If it is McCain put him in jail too!!!!!

I can't help wonder about those Trucks going across the Border and wonder what was in them??

IS THIS TREASON???

Mr. Spencer Love the Look!!!

Cox and Forkum + Jihad/Dhimmi Watch, Life is sometimes too good to be true...

The one of Galloway isn't ugly enough.

That is very, VERY cool!

(Just wondering whether in the background, peeking out beneath the drapes, where they cross for instance, right between Mr Spencer and Mr Galloway, there might not have been a frame, just the bottom left quadrant of a frame maybe, or possibly blurred somewhat, with just a hint of a certain someone depicted, but done in such a way as to insure Complete Plausible Deniability. That would have been VERY cool indeed. :-))

MENTAL EFFECTS OF ANXIETY/ANGER ABOUT ISLAM, AND IDEAS FOR THE CURE.

Completely off topic but hopefully worth reading.

Hello fellow JWers. Reading this site has become a daily ritual for me. The fact that the articles are simply reported events makes it more devastatingly effective than an ongoing OP-Ed would be.

The more one is exposed to an aspect of reality (jihadism) the more it grows in one's thoughts.

Perhaps others of you have begun to "stew" about the islamic threat too often. It sometimes bothers me too much, when at times I should be concentrating on something else. It has affected my personal life. I have a Pakistani acquaintance/friend, that I asked one too many questions of, and we don't speak much anymore. I should have "compartmentalized" more, enjoyed this person for who he was, but islam had become too much on my mind, over time. I wanted to scratch the surface and see what would come out of this "moderate" muslim. As soon as he started in with the incredibly circular and potshot arguments that passes for logic in the Arab mind, he made the emotional transition to "other" in my mind, which was unfortunate.

So, what to do when jihadism goes from political interest to bordering on obsession?

Action is really the only thing that helps.

Here is a small list of things you can do:

Point EVERYONE to this site, that will not have the power to harm you over it. (For example, don't suggest it at work.)

DO suggest it in chat rooms, and strangely, with very casual acquaintances. They are often more willing than close friends to check out a website (no Prohets in your home town).

We need some directions (from someone) about how to identify bills and executive decisions at the both the State and congress level, related in some way to the islamic issue. And then, write those legislators, and especially, point THEM to JW!

I think doing this will alleviate the irrational unconscious "guilt" that causes us to "over-dwell" on the issue.

This effect of getting them to understand will snowball over time. It is slow moving, but more powerful than some other techniques.

Additional thoughts are appreciated.

Great cartoon Robert. Lourie would be impressed.

Hugh and I have been slugging it out on the thread below about Sunni accusations of fraud in the Iraqi elections. I suddenly cannot get the entire thread. It's interupted in mid-comment half way down. Was just wondering if it was a JW malfunction? Otherwise, I'll assume its my computer.

Thanks.

I'm glad for the anti-dhimmi awards. Sadly, the dhimmi awards are more competitive.

VoiceofSkippy, and all,

Sorry to contribute to an OT posting, but it is an interesting one. I too get frustrated about the topic of the global Jihad, focus on it too much, to no good effect. I have not had any discussions with Muslims about it, both because I do not have personal Muslim friends where I live now (NYC), and those that I do know are through work, not the right place to bring this sort of thing up. I have introduced a number of friends and family to the IDEA that Islam contains serious problems. Most are amazed at my encyclopedic knowledge of the subject. It helps to not inundate anyone with too much at once. It is very difficult to process. The point I usually bring up is the conduct of Muhammad, just enough to introduce doubt in him as a worthy moral example.

Usually I check out something like www.irshadmanji.com when I'm feeling down about the topic, or www.deeyah.com. I also used to talk to the beautiful Pakistani girl at my last job (not about the Jihad though). That made things seem A. O. K. No burqua, far far from it. In the end it will be the Muslim women that break the back of the Jihad.

The most important thing to keep in mind is that everyone involved, even the Jihadis, are human, and it takes a whole lot of effort to make them what they are, while all it takes is a normal life to be, well, any thing but.

Keep spreading the word,
Quijybo

Great cartoon! Better than an Oscar night...

I wasn't invited, boo hoo.
Had my best jeans ready, car gassed up at great expense, cleared my busy schedule for several weeks, not knowing when the great day would be, well, evening really, looking at those tuxes, and put a few words together in case i was given the opportunity to congratulate the winners, two of whom are world class losers, and...nothing... no letter, e-mail, telegram ( do they still have such things ), no phone call, no stranger dropping the identity of Undisclosed Locationville written in a book of matches onto the table in my favourite smoke free, organic, run by virgins all, restaurant.
And now it's happened, the presentations, oh well, maybe next year.

Look closely at Spencer's face.

Doesn't the look in his eyes seem to indicate that he's up to no good? ; - )

VoiceOfSkippy, excellent post. I can completely relate to your comments. I was trying to say a simluar thing in another thread but didn't so succiently. Too many people on this site have switched over to extremist thinking themselves and I believe need to have some real world expirence to moderate their views.

Oh my, I'm so glad they didn't depict me tripping on my gown. It was such a shame to spill that whole glass of red wine all over Ramsey Clark. Funny, but when I returned with a fresh glass, gorgeous George had disappeared...

Rebecca:

Doubtless Grizzly George is not too terribly happy that the Miriam Fund is being investigated again for being an oil-for-food money laundering vehicle.

Don't be too tough on yourself, VOS. As the sheath slowly comes of the Sword of Islam, it is not possible to over-dwell on the issue of Jihad.

To keep things in perspective, don't forget what we're talking about:

1) The subjugation of us, our families, and our friends

2) The end of our way of life, the best in world history

3) The primacy of hate and bitterness as the stuff of life

4) The disappearance of truth and art from our intellectual landscape

5) The end of freedom

That's a formidable list. So formidable that it's surreal, which is why it goes almost unnoticed.

Love it! Just look at Oriana Fallaci!

This made my day.
