Jihadists in Bangladesh: all women, Muslim and non-Muslim, must wear veil

Oh yeah? I demand all Muslims wear bunny slippers and bath robes.

This Fatwa is important. Muslimah in chief, Hon. P.M. of our Islamic Republic of Bangladesh should appear in public only with Burqa.

Any excuse to kill, it seems.

My first response to this is anger, justifiable anger. My second response is, if I were forced to wear the burqa under threat of death, to plan my defense/revenge (a weapon hidden under the flowing shroud?), and my third response is a wish to confront these LDS bullies on a level playing field (i.e., no weapons, no cultural mores, no Islamic teachings to hide behind) -- just me and one of these Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen, eye to eye, face to face. Let him tell me then, "Seclusion has been made compulsory for you." When I laugh at him I'd be following Ali Sina's advice that to humiliate is a powerful motivator of change.

Oh, for that level playing field!

The "portable seclusion" thought so much of by Professor Leila Abu-Lughod of Princeton, and other "Muslim feminists" who have come down on the side of -- did you doubt for a minute? -- not women but Islam, Islam, Islam. And if Muslims choose to pitch their tents right over the heads of women, well -- so be it. These soi-disant abulughodish "fighters for feminism and women's rights" in Islam spend their time defending the treatment of women in Islam. They trot out Muslim women to tell the world how happy they are with their restricted lives, how they don't miss a think in the decadent West, where they would of course be treated as sex objects, and so on and so predictably forth.

No, Infidels must not be allowed to use the treatment of women in Islam, by Muslims claiming to follow the dictates, the tenets, the attitudes, the atmospheics, of Islam, can be permitted.

Not any open criticism whatsoever.

And not any veiled, either.

And these same backward creeps were all bitching and moaning when France decreed that they could,'t wear hijab in public schools crying over and over that one community can't impose its requirements on another. Well now the cat is out of the bag.

Maybe we adopt a policy that when we arrest a terrorist or identify a sucide-bomber that their whole families will be huniliated by having their wives, mothers and daughters, stripped naked in public and the photos of it put all over the internet. Then we can test Ali Sina's dictum that humiliation is a powerful motive for change.

The mindset still amazes me.

I don't understand the virtue of wearing a burka in the first place. nevertheless it's axiomatic: virtue is the product of free will, not compulsion.

But in cultures where shame -external loss of face- is more important than guilt -internal recognition one's shortcomings- such pronouncements may make sense.

The problem besetting the West and the World is one of dealing with a culture that turns its adherents into clever, vicious, controlling, manipulative children.

I'd like to see a scientific poll taken to measure awareness among the American population of what's going on in South Asia.

Would more than 1% or 2% know that Thailand , the Phllipines, and Bangladesh are, umm, in-process?

That same poll should also measure awareness of Islam having displaced Christianity and other faiths in Asia Minor, the Holy Land, and Egypt.

Why has no such poll been taken?

This events in Bangladesh make the following statement about the history of Islam ring so true:

Whole lot of know-nothingness going around. Yes, the Know-Nothing name should be resurrected, and made the name of a political party. Wear your ignorance proudly. Vote for the Know-Nothings. They do not represent you. They are You.

That party will win. In a walk, in a run, in a stumble.

This is islam's plan for the world. They will not succeed though. The good people of Earth won't stand for it.

I believe I can answer. Ho Chi Minh is a character from Hawaii Five-O. If it's not him (as I don't watch the show) then I'm not sure. Also, what happened in 1565 at Malta? Can't recall what might have happened there. I do know of Lepanto in 1571 and the Morisco/Turkish riots in the 1568-70 years. Terrible.

I agree with Hugh about the know-nothings. In my classes this year, none of the students know anything about their own history, which is partly the reason why I am taking Post-Confederation history of Canada next term, so that I may know. Also the teachers of history seem to think that Islam really is peaceful and nice, and only evil westerners spread this lie. It's amazing.
