From the hate mail bag today:
I'm sorry you have such extreme beliefs as the extremists you spend so much time thinking about.
My response:
Yeah, I'm just on my way out now to cut off some heads and fly an airplane into a skyscraper.
Sometimes I enjoy finding new ways to say "Your moral equivalency between the jihadists and the anti-jihad resistance is bankrupt."
Make sure you finish beating your four wives before you leave the house .
Don't forget to behead your hostages!
And don't forget to kick the unclean infidel dog!
OK, Robert already covered that one. My bad.
Don't honor any agreements with the infidel!
Kill the unbeliever until there is no more tumult or oppression!
And don't forget to go to the liquor store, to vandalize it and kidnap the owner.
Beagle:
"And don't forget to go to the liquor store, to vandalize it and kidnap the owner."
Shoot. I was just gonna buy a bottle of Thunderbird.
Cordially

And make sure your bomb belt batteries aren't flat.
You're taking flying lessons?
So pointing out extremists' behavior is extremist behavior?
By that definition, your emailer is also engaging in "extremist" behavior in pointing out your "extremist" behavior in pointing out Islamic extremist behavior.
(Dizzy yet?)
And speaking of hate, another hate fest in London, as described by Carol Gould:
n the UK I attended the ‘Global Peace and Unity’ Conference at London’s Excel Centre presented by the new Islam Channel and sponsored by Emirates Airlines, Western Union (hmm??) and the Metropolitan Police.
It was advertised as a diverse event to which non-Muslims were invited and the impression one got from the website was of a celebration of Middle Eastern culture, food, music and children’s activities in a London milieu. To my utter horror -- and I should have written this report two days ago but my physical and emotional shock have rendered me nearly inert -- it was a seven-hour call to Jihad by a succession of ranting and shouting rabble-rousers.
The eminent barrister Michael Mansfield QC, wearing black and white keffiyah scarf, shouted into the mike about the heinous crimes of the Western coalition countries. The crowd chanted and thundered its appreciation. The terrifying demagogue George Galloway ascended the podium and exhorted the crowd to stand up for the redemption of the oppressed Muslim world or else the nation had better get ready for ‘rioting in every street in Britain.’
-snip-
It must be noted for non-British and non-Commonwealth readers that legendary cricketer Imran Khan’s arrival from Pakistan to give a speech would be the equivalent of a sporting megastar doing similar in an American arena. The crowd of some 20,000 adoring, mostly young British Muslims went mad with joy when he ascended the stage and took to the dais. What followed was a stream of invective about his own leader, Parvez Musharraf, Egypt’s leader Hosni Mubarak, and of course the ‘axis of evil’ Bush, Blair and allies. (It must be noted here that in May, when the controversy arose about American soldiers allegedly flushing a Koran down a lavatory, Khan’s power over world Islam was such that he gave one short speech and riots ensued across the globe, including the horrifying flag-burnings in London’s Grosvenor Square. )
Khan actually said we should feel the degradation of modern Muslims in the context of Hitler and the Germans after Versailles. He used this example to accentuate the reason for ‘Muslim rage’ -- there was poor Germany belittled and humiliated, like the Muslim world today.
--
La Ridley also graced it with her presence:
The ‘slaughter in Palestine and Iraq’ being only part of the equation, Chechnya, Bosnia and Kashmir were also mentioned all day by every speaker including a crazed, chador-clad Yvonne Ridley, who at any moment I expected to self-immolate, such was her fury at the Zionists, the Americans and her fellow Britons. To my utter disbelief, she condemned the British police force as some form of fascist brigade in ‘jackboot Britain'.
Read it all, chilling stuff.

I wonder if this is the same Imran Khan who used to be a Playboy of the Western World. I wonder why he wasn't 'honour killed' when he returned to the Land of the Pure. Oh, I forgot, he's a MUSLIM MALE, in other words, a Master Of The Universe, the world is his sexual playground and he can have any infidel woman he wants, after all, they're merely sex slaves/concubines and worse.
"Your moral equivalency between the jihadists and the anti-jihad resistance is bankrupt"
Yes Indeed and it is unfortunately a symptom of the morally bankrupt society that we have become due to years of self hatred and "imperialist guilt" going back to the anti Vietnam era. How islamic propaganda has focused on this self hatred to advance itself in all western societies! They have played this card to the Hilt and still do - unoticed by so many.
And of course the inability to distinguish between RIGHT and WRONG is a by product of this degeneration of our democratic society.
How for example did Bush senior consider that the removal of saddam Hussein from power was never on the menu of the liberation of Kuwait ?
because in the world of real politics there is no right and wrong, no truth and no lies, only regional stability is the goal and if it entails leaving the Iraqi people to carry on being butchered -then so be it.
In the end such bankrupt morality from the highest echelons of society, filters down to the general public and we get the such asinine statements sent to Robert.
"I wonder if this is the same Imran Khan who used to be a Playboy of the Western World."

The very same. He married Sir James Goldsmith's daughter Jemima, she reverted and took to wearing the usual, and lived with him in Pakistan, where he harbored, and still does, political ambitions, and then she tired of the whole thing and divorced him. How much of Goldsmith's money devolved upon Imran Khan is unclear.
Silvester
Khan is an odious irresponsable hypocrite and not only was he responsible for the incitng the violence of the mythical koran in the toilet episode but his seduction of the naive socialite,Jemima Khan and her vast fortune is indeed the work of a shameless opportunist.
And of course it is said that she introduced Diana to "the wonders of Islam" and the tragedy that ensued was as a result of this.
Pardon me, I would have posted earlier but I was busy flushing (another) koran ... man, that felt good.
Now, let's try this (when Robert leaves the house) ...
"Lop a head!" (cf: Anglo Saxon, "Break a leg")
LOL, I know well who Mr Khan is, this was tongue-in-cheek. But thanks Hugh and Chevalier. Chevalier, I imagine he did very well indeed financially out of his marriage. But I wonder if he'll insist on custody of the two boys at any point. They were born in 1996 and 1999.
He's a good example of what Hugh talks about when he states that one can never know when a non-practising Muslim will turn around and 'get religion'. He's turned into a rabid rabble-rouser.
Remember the old days (like 64 years ago), when the murder of 3000 Americans would impel this nation to engage and anihilate the perpetrator? Ah, the good old days. Too bad for Hirohito, though.....he would obviously fare much better today.
How about some FACTS..
According to the latest statistics
3553 Terrorist attacks
(Incidents that were reported in the main stream media).
Civilian Body Counts Only...
Killed 6954
Wounded 12570
And these numbers are just the totals
from stories REPORTED in the news media..
This does not include..
Terrorist attacks prior to sept 12 2001
Islamic Genocide in The horn of africa
Islamic Genocide in the Sudan
Islamic Genocide in other undeveloped areas of the world where there isnt anyway for the victims to report it to ANY source..
Out of these only
0.7% were carried out by Non Muslims
(and by the way they were punished)...
the rest
99.3% were carried out by Muslims flying the Black Flag of Jihad
So to say that Stating the Truth is somehow Morally Reprehensible shows the true nature of
Islam...
And i DONT care If you DONT like the TRUTH..
I Stopped Caring after sept 11...
Put that up your self righteous butt and spin on it..
Awwww I am becoming addicted to this site ! Why ? Because I love your humour, your cleverness... after one day of listening to the propaganda of the French media, I tend to get depressed, then I jump to the Jihad Watch site and the same miracle happens:
Cleverness is back !!!
Thank you so much to all of you XXX
Joie sauvage
many of us are extremely sympathetic to the french people who have been betrayed for so long by their politicians, media and Intellectuels de gauche.
How France has changed since the days of Henri Cartier bresson and my own 1950s time at the ecole maternelle of the avenue de la Bourdonais.
what photos would Henri now capture of Paris? What pictures will adorn the walls of small bistros in the future?
Finkelraut exemplifies what happens to intellectuals who deviate from the official line and i noted with great regret that Bernard Henri Levy, who should have gained enlightment during his time in Pakistan reseaching his book on Daniel Pearl, has not made the quantum leap that Chris Hitchens.
He has not thrown of his shackles and leftist mortal coils and states cetegorically that the "riots" have no religious causes whatsoever.
His laudable work in fighting French Holocaust revisionism has not been extended to new revisionsm meted out to islamism.
We have now a situation in which Muslims can openly call for the genocide of jews or the destruction of french democracy without fear of prosecution in the name of political correctness.
Christians on the other hand must keep their mouths shut and even the criticism of genocidal comments by islamists is considered racism.
Jews must openly call for the abolishment of the Israeli state, to be accepted by the establishment or interviewed by the media.
it is now no longer a case of
plus cela change plus c'est la meme chose !
Thank you Chevalier de Saint George ! Nice name you have, from a nice character of past times. I guess you love his music.
I am only 30 but when you refer to "how was France just 50 years ago", I feel like crying. My France is the one of Piaf, of Gabriel Fauré, of Hugo, of George Sand, of Sade. It is the France of Enlightment, delicious literature and language, refined cuisine, pretty landscapes and villages, beautiful churches, terroirs... The France of libertinage and intrigues also, irony and playfulness !
It is the France of rationality, the Code Civil of Napoléon, the France of La Fayette and Tocqueville who praised America so much after he visited her.
It was France when the schools were still excellent. Do you know that 20 % of the kids cannot read, now, when they enter high school ? A new phenomenon people refuse to debate about... although everybody knows it is because the school books dont make sense anymore. Even a genius would find it difficult to learn reading !
France today: power of the "médiocre", communist parties, fierce anti americanism, over powerful trade unions always on strike, Pensée Unique, propaganda, censorship, self resentment, hatred towards anything which refers to our Past, cynicism, vulgarity... intelligence is dying and with it, everything which contributed to make France the bright country it used to be.
It has started: one does not have the right to speak anymore... being educated has become suspicious. Listening to classical music is fascist ! Napoléon is a nazi !
Intelligence is dying ! Totalitarism is replacing it but it is such a slow phenomenon people dont see it. It is like a cancer when you dont know you are affected. One day, when you realise you have a cancer, it is too late.
Anyway, Chevalier, from a sad, over sensitive Frenchwoman, thank you very much for your support to my country.
By the way, speaking about Bernard Henry Levy... I would not call him an "intellectual". He cannot write. He ignores grammar when he writes in French. His sentences do not make sense.
I refuse to call those people "intellectuals" because in the word "intellectual" there is "intelligence". Any simple Frenchman or Frenchwoman shows more lucidity and analyses the present situation better than they do despite their so called knowledge.
They have always been wrong. Remember Simone de Beauvoir visiting Castro (but at least Simone could write). Our intelletuals have been communist during the Cold War - they still are- and they were shouting "US go home" whilst sovietic missiles were pointed towards Western Europe. They have the habit of systematically defending the criminals and ignoring the victims (after all, victims are not interesting are they ?). After Sept 11 some of them openly rejoiced. In 1940, they yielded. And now... they seem to be just facsinated by the Muslim Violence (and dead scared) and during the riots, all they did was excusing the "youth" and even praising them (I read some crazy articles saying that "those youth experienced something which enriched them, made them grow..." etc etc. the journalist was just fascinated by the violence of "the youth").
So let us not call them "intellectuals" ! They have some diplomas and have read books without understanding them. They are incapable of looking at realities... the day we have a clever elite in France, it will be the end of our problems.
"the day we have a clever elite in France, it will be the end of our problems."

Vaste programme, madame.
good answer!
From Silvester's link above "(Imran Khan) recounted being confronted by a fellow Pakistani after 9/11 who asked, ‘Do you not feel ashamed?’ and he told the adoring crowd he did not see what there was to be ashamed of, and anyway, 9/11 was an excuse for the criminal Washington neocons to start a New Crusade against Islam."
Yeah, in the same way Pearl Harbour gave America an "excuse" to oppose Japan in WW2? I paid $ to see Imran's Pakistan team play against my country in the '80s. Like many jihadists, Imran is neither poor nor degraded; he is well educated and made his moolah playing cricket against infidels (before he married a Goldsmith). So now he is for all intents & purposes, an islamofascist Nazi sympathiser ranting at a jihad-fest in London? Excuse me, while I burp and chunder...and I want my $ back.
Many thanks Sylvester, for the info on that islamic cultural festival in the U.K.
Totally outrageous - and no doubt the press either ignored or admired the 'festival' of hate.
Were it not for Hugh, Robert and so many of those who post on this site, i think i would go crazy.
I don't mind losing some battles, and we are losing most of them, it's the war i worry about, and whether, with the huge fifth column now in all the western countries, we will fight at all, or accomodate till we succumb.
There is no evidence that our leaders in the west have any idea as to how to win this war.
At least, from this site and others, i realize there are others who share my anger and frustration, which gives me some hope; not everyone has gone to sleep.
Chere Joie sauvage, c'est vraiment triste parce que cela indique la fin --la mort-- de la civilisation toute entiere, ou presque toute. Et il y a des gens dans l'Occident qui la veulent.
Remember that even before WW2 you had a certain pre-Vichyite element in France. Think of people like Jean Giraudoux and Jean Giono, artists of the pen who praised Hitler and the Nazis. Before the Nazi conquest there was already a sympathetic cultural climate among some of the "gens d'esprit" and the politicians, both leftists and rightists [Giraudoux was also in the govt in charge of information or whatever his department was called]. Pacifism and peace were dripping from lips on all sides [soit gauche soit droite]. Who Wants to Fight for Danzig?, Marcel Deat asked. And then the war was over Paris. Socialists and Commies and Trots and the "right-wing" Action Francaise were all for peace with Hitler. And members of all these groups joined the Vichy regime.
The link below gives a summary of some of the warmongering history of peace movements.
http://www.acpr.org.il/NATIV/2001-1/2001-1-eligreenxs.htm
On the other hand, France then had Genevieve Tabouis and Pertinax. She especially was warning constantly and pointed out how the Nazis were using liberal democratic slogans, just as today pro-jihad left and the jihadist themselves use liberal democratic, Marxist-Leninist, and Stalinist terminology [i.e., mass murder is called "resistance"]. Read her books and you might get depressed, but if you can get enough people to read them, then you and they might understand better what's going on now and get some idea of how to defend yourselves and stop the rot. I believe that British diplomacy too did its part in getting French acquiescence for the Munich surrender.
By the way, somebody mentioned Christopher Hitchens favorably. He is an unscrupulous image spinner and mind-bender, in my view. Just look at how he tried to smear Oriana Fallaci as a "racist."
Hitchens is a complicated figure. He excoriated Oriana, he warmly uligized the despicable Edward Said. I don't think he writes particularly well either.
But he is no longer a man of the Left, I'll give him that. He embraces the fight against Islamo-fascism. He wrote an entire book validating George Orwell.
You take your allies wherever you can get them.
Hello Eliyahu,
I agree with you, what is going on now looks like a new Munich surrender ... there would be a lot of things to say about the human psychology and what happens when people find out that they have enemies... you have the ones who choose to ignore it, the ones who become collaborators, the ones who fight, the ones who think they will escape all danger if they hide and keep quiet etc etc etc. It is too complicated to talk to it now and here, but it really would deserve a complete research because after all, history is human and human means psychological.
One thing to be noted: a lot of people, in the 30's, were mainly obsessed with the communist threat, and were seeing Hitler as one way of stopping the Russians - until he allied them. When the Hitler youth were beating the Jews in the street, they were excusing them ("they are unemployed, they are not respected, not integrated, they have no hope" etc.) Interesting to note that the same excuses were used to defend -and even praise- the youth during the recent Paris riots... remember some youth put fire to an old handicapped woman in a bus... she is still in hospital I think. I never heard her speaking on TV or on the radio. The media just chose to ignore that barbaric crime... so today is like yesterday... except that today, people dont see Communism as a threat anymore. In France, the Communists are even seen in a sympathetic way, as if they represented good old guys, they are part of the traditional landscape and I have never heard any critic against them, except from the extreme right party...
About the alliance between the Muslims and the Communists / Socialists, yes you are correct (I am speaking about what I know i.e. France). This alliance is very obvious and yes the vocabulary is the same.
I have never read Genevieve Tabouis so thank you for the reference.
It seems to be a tradition with the French "intellectuals" (and thus, media): they systematically excuse the murderers, tyrans, and ignore the victims... death penalty or even penal sanctions are a crime to them. They like Castro, Saddam Hussein, I suspect they have a certain fascination for Ben Laden (how many times did I hear that "Ben Laden looks like a Wise man.." and bullshit like that). On the opposite, brave victims, unimportant people, old people... this does not interest them, and even, sometimes, being a victim becomes suspicious. In actual fact, defending the victims sounds unfashionable and people who do that are immediately suspected of being "fascist". What a confusion in the minds of the people ....
During the riots, it was the police who were accused, not the youth. As for the victims, they were simply absent from the debate, anihilated.
It is a point of view that I find very difficult to understand and once again, there would be so many things to write about it, as far as human psychology is concerned.
But simple, modest French people are not like that. They call a spade a spade (I think you say that in English ?)
By the way well done for your French XXX.
Chere Joie,
since you seem interested, here are some titles of Genevieve Tabouis' books:
Chantage a la Guerre [in Engl- Blackmail or War]
Ils m'ont appelee Cassandre [They called me Cassandra]
Vingt Ans de Suspense Diplomatique
[Twenty Years of ... (European Diplomacy?)]
and others.
As to Christopher Hitchens, I don't trust him farther than I can throw him. Cornelius, please examine his polemical tactics against Oriana Fallaci, which he had used against others before. He put words in her mouth, so to speak, which made her look like a person with color prejudices, although he did not actually call her a racist, as far as I know. She said that "a woman of taste" would not get romantically involved with an Arab. Hitchens built on that, implying that she meant swarthy men, that is, men of a certain color, and thus she was a racist or had color prejudices. I pointed out in another post on JW/DW that whatever her motives for shunning Arabs may have been, they are unlikely to have been based on skin color. After all, many of her fellow Italians are swarthy and her lover for many years was a Greek, and Jews and Armenians and Greeks are often swarthy and she did not speak of them. So Hitchens was just trying to smear her by innuendo as a racist without actually coming out and saying it. I can't consider him an ally.
Eliyahu, Pardon my ignorance but is this the same Hitchens who wrote a book attacking Mother Teresa of Calcutta and slandering her? If so, you are 100% correct that he is no ally. If I've cofused him with someone else, then correct me.
