Princeton U. Says Campus Event Against Terrorism is “too inflammatory”

Dhimmitude at Princeton. Yet this event will go on: contact Keith Davies at the email address below for details. Here is a press release from the Walid Shoebat Foundation about why it is not being held at Princeton University:

PRINCETON, NJ: In clear violation of free speech, Princeton University has cancelled a speaking event by three former Middle East terrorists because it says that the use of the word "terrorist" in the promotion for the event is “too inflammatory.”

The speakers will hold a press conference near the campus on Thursday, Dec. 8, at 6:00 p.m. The location will be announced in an updated media release the morning of the press conference.

“We believe Princeton is creating red tape to stop the event,” said Keith Davies, the executive director of the Walid Shoebat Foundation.

The event organizers planned to bring Walid Shoebat, Ibrahim Abdallah and Zak Anani to the Ivy League school to lecture on the terrorist mindset and how they were indoctrinated into terrorism.

Walid Shoebat is from a prominent family in Bethlehem. After joining the PLO, he took part in numerous acts of violence against Israel including the bombing of a bank. He was also involved in the attempted lynching of an Israeli soldier. Feature stories on Mr. Shoebat have aired on the BBC, FOX News, MSNBC, CBS and have been published in the Telegraph and Calgary Sun.

Zak Anani was a leader of the most notorious Arab gangs prior to Lebanese civil war. Before he age 16, he killed numerous Arabs in gang warfare and hated the West.

Ibrahim Abadallah was born and raised in Dearborn, Michigan, to a Jordanian father. At 17, he immigrated to Israel, where he joined the PLO. He injured many Israelis while rioting and throwing Molotov cocktails at them.

Have you forgotten so quickly the motto of the American liberal?

"Its hate speech when you say it, free speech when I say it".

There are times when one wishes to be a billionaire. This is one of those times. One wishes to be a billionaire, so that one could call up Princeton's President, or the Development Office (Princeton's beating heart) and announce that one was going to give a $100 million dollar gift for somethingorother, but now one has changed one's mind, one will not do so, one will never do so, and in fact one will urge all of one's fellow Forbes-list billionaires, and even the centimillionaires whom one deigns to talk to, NOT to give a cent to Princeton. And to behave the same toward all the other universities, those "world-class" frauds (outside of science, where standards are harder to ignore), those places where a perfectly normal student can come out ignorant of history and of literature, incapable of expressing himself or thinking straight -- come out, after four expensive years of nothing much at all, save for the credential, the all-important credential.

Failing that, what damage can be inflicted on Princeton, not only for this, but for the glee with which Amy Guttmann hired Cornel West, or the current expressed delight in finding a place for that rival of Joseph Schacht and Arthur Jeffery and Richard Gottheil and Bernard Lewis and Michael Cook and Patricia Crone -- one Rashid Khalidi, of "creating-a-Palestinian-identity" fame (all ye on earth, and all ye need to know). How much of this nonsense will alumni, will foundations, stand? Even more? What further outrage is next? And who's next for his appointment to this "world-class" (as universities now like to call themselves, in their beyond-belief vulgarity) university? What distinguishes these universities is nothing but the size of their endowments. Nothing else now matters. It is as if Jacques Barzun never existed. Stop supporting them. They have too much already. They have made a mess -- they need to be chastened.

Only a muslim would get upset about events against terrorism. Why? If they're so peaceful and tolerant, you'd think that they would be the first ones to jump on board, to clear their "good" name, to "take islam back from those who have 'hijacked'" their religion. But what do we see instead? Any mention of events going on against terrorism is automatically seen as something against all muslims. Why? Because all muslims, if not terrorists themselves, at least support terrorism. That's why muslims think that anything against terrorism is against all of islam, because islam, as a whole, is a terrorists organization.

I was at the lecture given almost two years ago in Westchester NYC, by Wallid and Bridgette Gabriel. What a treat. And if you don't own the dvd, it's inexpensive and definitely buy it at shoebat.com.

That was wonderous. But hearing how much Wallid destroyed the hateful crowd along with Tovia Singer, at, I think it was concordia U in Canada last year, the stench of muslim and arab pressure to keep him out of any venues looms large. How the heck do they handle ex-terrorists, no way for them expecially since they speak arabic and know the whole game.

Anyway, a story- so I'm at the westchester lecture and getting my look and listen to Wallid and Bridgette, and I'm struck by how well they speak, how concise their history and discussions are, and how important they are to understanding this conflict with Islam. And how gentle and kind and strong they both are.

After the lecture I go to shake Wallid's hand and thank him, and a guy from my shul ( synogogue) an orthodox guy, very dry, very decent fellow- comes up to ask him a question.

Wallid had used some quotes from psalms I think and this guy, Mr dry as a martini was going to give him the commentary on the psalms. Which went on for about four minutes. Wallid kept eye contact, and I listened and it was interesting, but I tend to have a low threshold of boredom; Wallid hung in there.

When he was done explaining the Jewish view of his use of the psalms, Wallid had a glow in his eye, and he looked at me and said smiling....

" This is how it goes when I speak to Jewish audiences as compared to Arab muslim audiences. The Jewish people always manage to find an explanation for peace somewhere in all this, but the muslims always find the meaning for killing."

I'm paraphrasing a bit here. There was this noticeable sense of a deep responsibility, which he was returning to the Jewish people and the Jewish nation from a muslim and now a christian, for all the harm that has been done and may yet be done to that nation and those people.

He is a man of force and humor, and decency. If you get a chance, buy his DVD and anything else by him. He is a wonderful person, and factually, he is an unbelievable source of information who gives first hand insight into the terrible Jihad we have to face.

Hugh,

These top universities are still good at science and engineering. I think.

Speaking of Cornel West, the following is for your entertainment:

From THE UNREAL WORLD OF CORNEL WEST
All and Nothing at All
by Leon Wieseltier

Quote 1 from the professor:

"Following the model of the black diasporan traditions of music, athletics, and rhetoric, black cultural workers must constitute and sustain discursive and institutional networks that deconstruct earlier modern black strategies for identity-formation, demystify power relations that incorporate class, patriarchal, and homophobic biases, and construct more multivalent and multidimensional responses that articulate the complexity and diversity of black practices in the modern and postmodern world. "

Quote 2 from the professor:

"My view neither promotes a post-Marxian idealism (for it locates acceptable genealogical accounts in material social practices), nor supports an explanatory nihilism (in that it posits some contingent yet weighted set of social practices as decisive factors to explain a given genealogical configuration, that is, set of events). More pointedly, my position appropriates the implicit pragmatism of Nietzsche for the purposes of a deeper, and less dogmatic, historical materialist analysis. "

Brilliant! Deep! Eloquent!

You can just see why Harvard and Princeton fought over him.

perhaps Princeton has some big Saudi money backing them.. it's worth looking into, if there was a way to find out.

This is absolutely bs; shame on Princeton, and what the f has happened to any notion of free speech ( unless it's pro muslem ).

Both Princeton, and the hotel that recently refused to host an anti islamic-radical meeting, are frightened,
in fear for their facilities,
indeed,
in fear for their own lives.

Radical moslems, in the name of all moslems, have succeeded -

I spit on my ancestor's university,
and take delight that the ivory towers
are going to fall, and all concerned
will come face to face
with the truth.
They are arrogant,
deluded and "useful fools."

I wish that when prestigious universities choose to exchange their academic integrity for political expedience and saudi dollars, there was a price to pay. Top professers in fields (other fields, besides ME studies)who would decline offers to teach and conduct research there. Highly qualified applicants who would choose NOT to apply or NOT accept offers of admission.

If anyone has the ear of any member of the board of overseers, or of an alumni association director, that might be a good place to start.

It is not a money problem. It is an MLA problem. It is an AHA problem. It is a MESA Nostra problem. It is an affirmative action problem. It is a not-to-the-manner-born problem. It is a stab-in-the-back careerism problem. It is a jobs-creation-for-those-who-push-some-fashionable-line problem. It is a negligent-and-timid-university-administration problem. It is a grant-applying-and-getting problem. It is a need-to-be-"collegial"-whatever-that-means problem. It is an ignore-the-reality-of-near-total-student-ignorance of history problem. It is an ignore-the-reality-of-near-total-student-indifference-to-words problem. It is a teaching-what-my-next-monograph-will-be-about problem. It is the Development-Office-as-the-beating-heart-of-the-university problem. It is about indifference-to-what-should-constitute-education problem. It is a fear-of-offending-anyone problem. It is "superstar-professor-at-world-class-university-mindset" problem. It is a grab-as-much-as-you-can problem.

It is all of these, and much more.

First I would like to know why they are not giving these speeches from a cell.

Then ~Question~ How Is Free Speech Fairing?

I read about a man in Scandinavia today who had been jailed for saying that islam is a violent religion. I know Australia has jailed people for saying the same. England is putting laws in place for the same, I'm not sure if it has passed. CAIR is suing everyone in the US who speaks up, but I don't know if there are "speech laws" yet.

So, since this site has readers from all over, could posters from various countries, please state examples of what is going on in this regards. I think Denmark is leading the way with Jyllands-Posten and it's politicians standing up. How are other countries doing?

Maybe there could be a post about this collected information.

Hugh~world-class universities seem to be good for mainly one thing - networking. After that dressing up the resume. Requesting alumni donations. And giving expert opinions to newscasters.
OT- I saw an English lit. professor on a question/answer show where four choices were given. The question was to name the last of the four musketeers. With the first three musketeers names read off and the last one on a screen the guy didn't have a clue. Shouldn't he know that? All I could think was I hope one someone rechecked his resume.

Have them change "terrorist" to "Muslim" and change the title to "Islam, Religion of Peace and Tolerance". Sell tickets. They'll make a fortune.

I object to the adjective "world-class" and all those who in university life would use it. I object to the phrase "academic superstars." I object to almost all of the guff that comes out of university presidents, out of fund-raising appeals, out of alumni magazines. I object to the exploitation of memories of a certain period of one's youth, the deliberate confusion of that period with the supposed wonderfulness of the college or university where those four years of that youth passed, and the alumni offices, in cahoots with the Campaign for Endless Fundraising, that so cleverly exploit those memories, and the sentimental attachments, in order to create a closed system that, for a great many, no longer has much to do with education but with self-indulgence, careerism, the blurb-and-reference swappers, the all-think-alike brigade, and of course that idiotic thing, which nowadays faculty members are supposed to exhibit -- something called "collegiality." Just imagine W. H. Auden, or Robert Frost, or Vladimir Nabokov, or Wolfgang Panofsky, or any number of teachers (Old Style) exhibiting this thing called "collegiality."

Go to university. Get the damn degree or degrees. Then figure out how to educate yourself, beyond what the handful of good -- i.e. old-school -- professors can smuggle in. I am not talking here about biochemistry or molecular biology or physics or chemistry. It is the other stuff. You know. History. Art. Literature. Philosophy. That stuff.

Palestinians managed to keep him out of Canada altogether.....

I received an update e-mail from the UAC last night. The event has been changed as follows:

"If you or anyone you know on the East Coast can make it to this event it is
very important that you go. The event WILL take place despite being shut
down by Princeton U. It is Dec. 8th in Princeton NJ at the Radisson Hotel
4355 Us Highway 1, 6:00 PM."

Well look at that!! In the last week I've been able to boycott one hotel chain (Marriot) and choose a preferred chain, the Radisson.

'and choose a preferred chain, the Radisson.'~ C

Hmmm. Is it safe to say that the Marriott is 'chained' to dhimmitude?

I called the Radisson, and it couldn't confirm yet, so I'm verifying with Mr. Davies.

One has to ask "How did this happen?"

Why have the colleges allowed "truth" to be something to be afraid of?

What "moral" standard are they using?

The concept of "hate crimes" is an oxymoron as there have always been laws against physical abuse, terrorists threats, etc, etc. Every time I see another "hate crime' law enacted, I throw up.

Opps, I almost forgot, we never had laws against free speech before, how stupid of me!

They've abandoned the truth of Christ for humanism, for moral relativism, for secularism.

Much of the West has, over the last two centuries, rejected that which made its Civilization great--the religion of Christ and His apostles.

Since the time of so-called "higher criticism" (which successfully cast doubt on the historicity and veracity of the Hebrew Scriptures in the minds of many "elites") and the scientific fraud made palatable by Darwin (which further eroded confidence in the Bible by attempting to discredit--without actual empirical evidence--the creation account in Genesis), little-by-little the West's belief in the God of goodness and reason and truth has been eroded; this is reflected in, and perpetuated by, society's essential institutions: the church, government, education, and now, the media.

What can one expect if that which made the West the supreme moral, economic, and military force in the world is no longer of any consequence? That vacuum will be filled by something, at least; at worst, those who are now without the moral and intellectual integrity and courage to withstand Islam will be enslaved (or worse) by it.

The West needs another Renaissance, this one a moral and religious rebirth.

In Christ is Freedom and Truth. Islam is a tyranny over the minds of men.

Sic semper tyrannis.
