MALAGA — Police on the Costa del Sol have arrested seven people suspected of financing the activities of Islamic terrorist groups.The raids took place early on Friday in Malaga, Torremolinos and Marbella.
Last month, Spanish police arrested 10 suspects wanted for allegedly providing logistical support, including financing, to radical Islamic groups.
Spain's interior ministry linked the suspects from the November arrests to an Algerian-based radical Islamic organization, the Salafist Group for Call and Combat, which has been widely-linked to Al-Qaeda.
Spanish police have found links in the operation to Algerians living in Germany, the Netherlands, Britain and Denmark and officers have contacted relevant authorities in those countries to provide information about the investigation.
Cash has been raised to fund terrorist attacks through drug trafficking, forged credit cards and property and vehicle theft.
I wonder if Spain's hand-wringing politically correct moaners have connected the dots, yet.
They thought they could be spared Islamic terror by caving on Iraq, yet they find Islamic cancer metastisizing in their country.
Mmm, nope. They don't get it. Too politically correct. Truth is irrelevant to the PC mind and would, in this case, invalidate their mindset. They'll just blame Bush; it's easier.
Why doesn't Tne New Duranty Times, and The Bandar Beacon, and the assorted news networks, devote a special supplement in the case of the biodegradable paper press, and a special ten-miniute segment on the nightly newses, to "Jihad News." Now for the "Jihad News." Or, along with the Book Review, and the Magazine, with those fasion ads each more disturbingly cheap than the next, and The News of the Week in Review, a special section labelled "Jihad News in Review."
It would clarity matters. It would clear the air. It would allow readers and listeners not to have to connect the dots themselves, or to come to Jihad Watch where the dots have been intelligently pre-connected, so that the outline of the picture is recognizable, and commentators can concentrate on filling in the colors and the shadings.
Twould be a welcome addition.

Would put the vital issue unavoidably in the consciousness of us infidels and might even help make the mainstreammedia relevant and useful.

The obverse is what's happening now. Turn on the TV, and it's Moslem this and Moslem that. Aggrieved Moslem, oppressed Moslem, threatening Moslem, blackmailer Moslem, terrorist Moslem, angry Moslem, Moslem Moslem. The airwaves are Moslem up and Moslem down, and here goes the Moslem around and round. To paraphrase the Mafia movies, American media is all Mozzed up.
But it's all positive spin for the Moslem, every frame along the way. Are you proposing that Moslem agitprop be institutationalized in its own segment?
For, surely, nothing negative could be implied the Jihad segment...
