Tancredo: 51 Terrorist Suspects Crossed Border Illegally

A press release (thanks to Richard) from the office of the American Anti-Dhimmi of the Year, Congressman Tom Tancredo:

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Tom Tancredo (R-CO) today revealed figures which show that since October, 2004, 51 persons who have crossed into the U.S. illegally were arrested on suspicion of terrorism. The figures, part of a Department of Homeland Security response to a inquiry by the Congressman, document the national security risk our porous borders pose on the eve of Congress’ first attempt to rewrite immigration law in nearly a decade.

Federal law enforcement coordinates its terrorism efforts through “Joint Terrorism Task Forces” (JTTFs), which include officials from the Justice and Homeland Security Departments. Since October, 2004, JTTFs have kept track of arrested terrorist suspects who are in the U.S. illegally. The JTTF document shows 51 persons were arrested who had “entered without inspection” into the U.S. from countries such as Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Egypt, Syria and Pakistan.

“If this isn’t a wake-up call to our lax border security, I don’t know what is,” said Tancredo. “What scares me is not this list from federal law enforcement—after all, we’ve already caught those terrorists. What scares me is the potentially hundreds of terrorists who make their way through our porous borders each year and go undetected.”

The JTTF document shows that the suspected illegal alien terrorists were arrested on a wide variety of charges from smuggling weapons into the U.S. to illegally wiring large sums of money into the country. Regardless of the particular charge, each illegal alien was flagged by a JTTF because of his or her suspected ties to terrorism.

“This week, the House is scheduled to complete a bill to strengthen our border security and enforce immigration laws throughout the country. Judging by these terrorism figures, Congress is not acting a moment too soon,” said Tancredo. “Knowing what we know now, what could Congress say if a terrorist attack occurred that secure borders would have prevented? We’ve relied on our good fortune for too long—we must protect Americans by stopping terrorists before they get here.”

What does it matter?

With 10,000 Saudi students and hundreds of thousand other Moslem students, we're loaded up with Jihadists-in-waiting anyway.

o/t..islam is a billowing horde of locusts..

http://www.mediahistory.umn.edu/indextext/Alexandria.html

googling, I find that responsibility for the destruction of the Library of Alexandria is disputed..one source saying there's no proof
that Omar did it, etc.,,???

Tancredo for Prez!

DHS RESPONDS to a simple request from one congressman, Rep. Tom Tancredo from Colorado. We hear about the porous borders and the threat of dangerous illegals that penetrate our security, yet only ONE congressman made this request.
Tancredo is the kind of politician that I would vote for . . .for president.

I second that motion otterfisher.

All in favor say aye.

It appears that the ayes have it. Tancredo for president!!!

If we can send $14B (?) on the big dig to build a three mile tunnel, why can't we spend $8B to build a really good fence that will go for thousands of miles along the border to keep the crimaliens where they belong, on the outside looking in.

What a coincidence....CAIR, who is supposed to be promoting a positive image of Islam, and failing miserably by the way, has also expressed interest in America's immigration policies. How peculiar. Now why would CAIR, who is so concerned about Muslim civil liberties, also be concerned with how we deal with our border situation? Could Congressman Tancredo possibly have just answered this question?

Action: Call Congress on Torture, Patriot Act, Immigration

CAIR ACTION ALERT #481

Action: Call Congress on Torture, Patriot Act, Immigration

(WASHINGTON, D.C., 12/13/05) - CAIR is urging American Muslims and other people of conscience to take advantage of a final opportunity to support civil liberties, oppose the use of torture by American personnel and insist on workable immigration reform by contacting their elected representatives before Congress goes out of session in the next few days.

Votes are expected on a number of crucial issues, including:

1. Civil Liberties Protection in the Patriot Act Reauthorization

The House will most likely take up the Patriot Act conference report on Wednesday, December 14. A vote to prevent Sen. Russ Fiengold’s threatened filibuster in the Senate will probably occur Friday. A filibuster, essentially an extended debate, would prevent any vote on the Patriot Act, since Senate rules provide that a vote can only occur once a debate is completed. Senate leadership needs 60 votes to prevent a filibuster.

2. Anti-Torture Measures

Sen. John McCain’s measure prohibiting the use of "cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment" against anyone in U.S. government custody anywhere in the world has strong Senate support. The administration, using Vice-President Cheney as point, is lobbying against the measure. President Bush has threatened to use his first-ever veto to protect torture.

3. Immigration Reform

Secure borders and enforcement of immigration law are important. However, legislation currently before the House is ill-considered. Among other concerns, the Border Protection, Antiterrorism and Illegal Immigration Control Act (H.R. 4437) empowers low-level law enforcement officers to deport, without a hearing, anyone within 100 miles of the border that the agent thinks is undocumented.

IMMEDIATE ACTION REQUESTED:

1. Follow the link provided below and make the calls to your elected officials. (We are requesting phone calls because e-mails and faxes may not be read until after this week.) It is easy and effective.

You will be asked only for your ZIP code (to prove that you are a constituent) and where you stand on an issue. You need not be an expert, only concerned.

This is the first time I have heard any statistics on captured OTMs, but no doubt there are many, many more than this paltry 51. We owe Rep. Tancredo big time for standing alone for years on the issue of illegal immigration including the infiltration of OTMs (Other than Mexicans). Tom is finally being heard but what will be done about it? We know these OTMs can easily blend into groups of Mexican illegals slipping into the country and, if they are caught, are usually released while Mexicans are sent back. We also know that international gangs like MS 13, with links to Al Q, have infiltrated our cities, and in addition to murdering, raping and robbing U.S. citizens, makes big money from smuggling OTMs into the country. I wonder where the money comes from??? It's time for people to understand we have been invaded and there's an active 5th column in the country that is steadily working on our destruction.

From October 2003 to June 2004:

Over 44,000 OTMs were caught trying to sneak into the US across the Mexican border.

OTMs in this case were mostly MEFJs: Middle Eastern Fence Jumpers.

here's the text(pdf) of the Border Protection, Antiterrorism and Illegal Immigration Control Act (H.R. 4437) http://judiciary.house.gov/media/pdfs/SENSEN_104_XML.pdf

under HR4437, alien smuggling for profit can get you up to 20 years..

reading HR4437.page 31: you have to knowingly employ more than 10 illegal aliens in a 12 month period to get a fine.. WTF?!

OK, let's see how long this stays up: (Sorry RS, I just couldn't help myself :^D )

The Bet

Two families moved from Saudi Arabia to the USA.
When they arrived the two fathers made a bet - in a year's time whichever family had become
more American would win.

A year later they met again. The first man said,
"My son is playing baseball, I had McDonalds for breakfast and I'm on my way to pick up a case
of Bud.

How about you?"

The second man replied, "F*ck you, towel head."

CAIR says this above: "the Border Protection, Antiterrorism and Illegal Immigration Control Act (H.R. 4437) empowers low-level law enforcement officers to deport, without a hearing, anyone within 100 miles of the border that the agent thinks is undocumented. "

page 67 of HR4437 says this;"..the Secretary of Homeland Security shall apply clauses (i) and (ii)of this sub-paragraph to any alien who is not a national of a country contiguous to the United States, who has not been admitted or paroled into the U.S. and who is apprehended within 100 miles of an international land border of the U.S. and within 14 days of entry."

CAIR is trying to scare Mexican Americans into opposition of this bill without mentioning that "nationals of a country contiguous to the U.S." are not affected..

Also, the bill says nothing about "low-level law enforcement officers" being authorized to deport people without a hearing.

CAIR Islime.

Posted by: otterfisher

Exactly. If they're here illegally, why should they be afforded a hearing? How about we just get some of these Judges off their flattened asses and get them out in the field to do these ridiculous hearings?

On the spot hearings....There's nothing wrong with that. If they're here illegally, then they need to go. There should be no argument about it. Regardless of what some claim about these fence hoppers having the right to be here.......No, they do not.

"CAIR is trying to scare Mexican Americans into opposition of this bill without mentioning that "nationals of a country contiguous to the U.S." are not affected."

..by the above statement i meant to say, not affected by the 100 mile rule..

a very important issue for next votes in upcoming elections will be border control. what ever party picks up on this will be a winning hand to be elected. people are fed up with all the illegal immimgration going on, and want some strong controls put in place.

more unmanned aerial vehicles and tethered aerostat radars if bill passes..
http://www.spyflight.co.uk/Aerostat.HTM

"once tethered into position at 1,000 feet above ground, the aerostat will provide radar coverage
out to 30 kms..electro-optical system coverage to 10 kms"

otterfisher:

Glenn Spencer has been patrolling the border from the sky for a while now.

http://www.americanborderpatrol.com/

Some great photos of illegal action.

Closing the border is not a technological problem. It is an issue of will.

Spending money on technology is easier than mustering the will to close the border. It's a displacement activity.

Otterfisher:

The aerostat looks like a great target. The Predator B-UAV has been very effective but there is only one in use!

The technology on it allows it to fly 20 to 50 thousand feet in the air and be able to read license plates down on cars below if need be. The Predator can fly up to 30 hours non-stop without refueling. It has a cruising speed of 230 miles per hour and is remote controlled by a pilot on the ground.

"Closing the border is not a technological problem. It is an issue of will."

Technology is a part of the solution. Obviously there will be no funding for it without the will of congress.

I'm a day late, but the article yesterday on Saudi Prince Alwaleed's donation of $20 million dollars to Georgetown U. ommitted an important quote from craven, boot-licking, dhimmi-extraordinaire John Esposito.

When asked about former Mayor Guliani's refusal of Alwaleed's check after his comments linking 9-11 to US foreign policy, Esposito said the following:

"There was nothing wrong with his expressing his opinion on American foreign policy...[Alwaleed was] trying to give people the context in which this attack occurred."

We voted the wrong man dhimmi USA.

XRDC.."aerostats look like great targets",,

from the article: "they can be deployed to 15,000 feet.."..they are already in use along the U.S./Mexican border..kinda hard to hit at that height..

"kinda hard to hit at that height"

You have not seen my bow and arrow...

You are right. The weather is stable enough along the border not to worry about as well. They are developing higher altitude (70,000 ft) versions to act as low flying satellites over the US.

Still the cable seems to be a weakness...

from above: When asked about former Mayor Guliani's refusal of Alwaleed's check after his comments linking 9-11 to US foreign policy, Esposito said the following:

"There was nothing wrong with his expressing his opinion on American foreign policy...[Alwaleed was] trying to give people the context in which this attack occurred."
----

Esposito is such a worm. You see, any excuse for Islam is quite acceptable to the clever dhimmi Esposito. It reminds me of Salieri, in his wheelchair at the end of the movie Amadeus, slowing being wheeled back to his room, animated and laughing as he repeated "Mediocrity is everywhere." It's sad. Georgetown used to be a respected institute, now just a whorehouse and Esposito is the prized bitch.

John Sobieski
(Hey,Esposito, google me. You do know me, don't you?)

Does the headline imply that there is some way the "terrorist suspects" could have crossed legally???

xrdc..yes, the tether(s)..umm..Minuteman volunteer tether-guards..

John S,

Remember in 2002, Muslim militants in India torched a train at Godhra, burning Hindu women and children to death. The Hindus responded with a massacre of Muslims in Gujurat, killing over 2000.

Can you imagine Esposito referring to the mass murder of these Muslims with words such as "trying to give people the context in which this attack occurred"...? I sure as hell can't. He would denounce it unequivocally.

In his book 'The Islamic Threat: Myth or Reality,' he discusses the Rushdie affair in the most contradictory way. In one sentence, he asks why we should judge all Muslims because of a fatwah issued by one man.

In the very next paragraph, he suggests that Rushdie should have known that by insulting a billion Muslims, there would be consequences. So which is it???

I exchanged an email with Esposito after 9-11. He likened the attack to Baruch Goldstein, saying all religions have their fanatics. I was sickened by this pathetic attempt to link an isolated case of individual terrorism with the concept and practice of jihad.

The man is a disgusting apologist who deserves the utter contempt of every rational man and woman.

Friends, if you care about keeping out the many foreign enemies who would do us harm, now is the time to pick up the phone and call your Congressional Representative.

There is a border-immigration bill being debated NOW in the House which needs the support of all loyal Americans. You can watch on C-SPAN.

Calls needed to strengthen Sensenbrenner bill

Your phone calls are needed NOW through the end of the week to build support for House acceptance of strong strengthening amendments to border security legislation expected to be considered as soon as this Thursday.

The legislation scheduled for consideration is Judiciary Committee Chairman James Sensenbrenner's (R-WI) Border Protection, Antiterrorism and Illegal Immigration Control Act of 2005, H.R. 4437. His committee approved the bill last Thursday by a party-line vote.

(A couple of easy action items follow.)

Yeah I agree about the border controls. every country should be able to say who crosses its borders, in or out, even Iran.

However, the 9/11 bombers were in the USA legally.
