TBN admits concern about offending Muslims

After first denying it, the Trinity Broadcasting Network has admitted that it pre-empted Hal Lindsey's show for fear of offending Muslims.

And soon there will be no outlets left, at all, in which one can speak the truth about the roots of Islamic terror in the Islamic texts. From WND, with thanks to all who sent this in:

After insisting the pre-emption of Hal Lindsey's television show had nothing to do with content, a Trinity Broadcasting Network spokesman retracted his statement, admitting officials were concerned, at least secondarily, about offending Arabs and Muslims.

As WorldNetDaily reported, John Casoria, general counsel for the network, responded yesterday to Lindsey's contention that the weekly program "International Intelligence Briefing" had been canceled for December, and possibly permanently, because its message was deemed "too pro-Israel and too anti-Muslim."

Casoria initially replied, "That is absolutely, 100 percent false."

But now, after talking with network programming officials, he says a secondary reason for pre-empting the show was that it "placed Arabs in a negative light."...

Casoria said he could not recall specific examples from Lindsey's programs that were anti-Arab or anti-Muslim, but he expressed the network's concern about how Muslims are portrayed.

"TBN is a worldwide ministry; we have an entire channel that airs 24 hours a day, seven days a week in Arabic," he said. "We are trying to reach the Islamic world and open a dialogue with them regarding Christ and Christianity."

Casoria explained, "We do not feel that the best witness of Christ is to bash them but rather to show them the nature of Christ – the way Christ said to present himself – and that is through love, understanding and the presentation of the gospel to them."

Lindsey argued, however, his program is not shown in the Middle East.

"My show is produced for the Western world and for Christians who are at the most risk from radical Islam," he said.

Lindsey said that in the show that was canceled this week, he made a clear distinction between Muslims seeking jihad and those who want only a job and normal life for their families.

"I cast radical Muslims in a bad light," he said, "showing how they are intimidating and persecuting moderate Muslims in the Middle East."

Casoria said he believes the extremists are not Muslims at all but have "hijacked the religion."

As a Christian, he sees Islam as a false religion – believing there is only one way to God, through Jesus Christ – but he says Islam basically is peaceful.

"That's where we violently disagree," Lindsey said. "Islam is not a peaceful religion; although there may be moderate Muslims, it's because they have not become followers of the Quran."

Only one problem. Unless you protect any converts, you're condemning them to death. I hate to rain on a "love, understanding" parade, but that's the reality. Muslims claim Allah "has power over all things" but his followers carry out the death sentences for those who leave Islam.

Freakazoid as Mr. Lindsey is (remember the 'outreach' he affected with his spurious "The Late Great Planet Earth"?), he still has the right to express his opinion without fear of reprisal.

Hal Lindsey speaks the truth about Islamofascism. That's what has them scared. It's a real shame. He understands and sees the problem with Islam in our world today. This needs to be broadcast. Offend them all he wants. I was greatly offended on 9/11. Jesus would not back down. He drove out the money changers. We need to drive out the anti-Christ Islamists too.
There is a time for peace and a time for war.

Apparently "the best way to witness Christ" is to deny the truth, or hide it, or prevent one from speaking about it. Next to turning your back on the murder, by beheading as it were, oppression, terror, destruction of homes and churches, false witness, and robbery that is perpetuated against Christians in the Islamofascist world. Turn the other cheek if you like, but if someone crushes your skull with a brick in response, and you hide the fact to protect them, you are not a Christian, you're a coward.

Can you look at yourself in the mirror when you interpret the Christian idea of "love thy neighbor" as permission to assist in the persecution of your fellow Christians? Personally, That's not my take on it.

You could end with Christian blood on your lily-white, manicured, wrapped in silk and gold cufflinked Christian hands.

Sure, Lindsey is a fruitcake at times, but the way it works is that an intelligent individual takes in information, filters it through what he knows or believes to be reality, discards what he rejects, and keeps what he deems worth holding(whether as truth or as a possibility of truth for later confirmation/rejection). To take the decision from an individual is censorship, the first step towards tyranny. The muslim world is already programmed to think for itself as little as possible. We owe it to them, and our children, to make them think, make them shake off the mental chains and cement overshoes that that exemplify the pinnacle of muslim consciousness, and having failed, at least make others alert to the dangers afield.

There's enough people out there trying to destroy us, you don't have to go and put your head on the block, roll back your collar, and whistle.

"A Trinity Broadcast Network spokesman retracted his statement, admitting officials were concerned...about offending Arabs and Muslims."

Just by believing in Christ and following His teachings they offend the Arabs and Muslims.

Wow. If TBN really wants to not offend Arabs and Muslims they could shut down their station or better yet, stop being Christian all together and convert to Islam.

The joke of Political Incorrectness has spread it's poison well. We are all infected and the truth is, there's probably not enough vaccine to go around. I expect more, though, from those who claim to follow Christ. If Jesus hadn't let the bad guys put nails through his hands 2000 years ago, we'd all be speaking Farsi and wearing tablecloths right now, and no one would have any hope at all.

To appease instead of standing up strong against the lie that is Islam is to spit in Christ's face and crucify Him all over again.

Well I suppose that it will be just a matter of time before the popular preacher from San Antonio, Texas; Reverand John Hagee is taken off the Trinity Broadcasting Network. His sermons have been much more direct and forcefull in many cases in regards to the militancy of Islam than has Hal Lindsey's show.

It is sad when churches are backing down..
Afraid of angering the flock..
Even if the truth hurts.

This is why america is in a moral crisis...

No one wants a watered down weak religion of political correctness...

People want the TRUTH....
And many churches are running from it...

Then how will you confront the evil in the world.
When all of your churches have bowed down to the Islamo Faschists..

You cant...

" the nature of Christ – the way Christ said to present himself – and that is through love, understanding and the presentation of the gospel to them.""

Excuse me, but let's recall some of Jesus' words:

"You shall know the TRUTH and the TRUTH will set you free."

"For this I was born, and for this I came into the world, to bear witness to the TRUTH. Everyone who is of the TRUTH hears my voice".

RE: It is sad when churches are backing down..

Very true indeed as the Bible clearly states that it is our duty to help the oppressed and the persecuted.

I can only imagine that God would be disappointed as the Churches should be in the forefront of resisting the evils of Islam.

Life is a spiritual journey and God judges our decisions.

Yes, there are times when "turn the other cheek" is applicable and times when "if thy eye offends thee, then pluck it out"

America is the most powerful nation on earth and only a little over 200 years old. We have been blessed because we are predominately a Christian nation. That blessing has to be earned and maintained which the "intellectual elites" have no concept of since they worship the false god of their "mind or intellect" instead of recognizing the source of such.

You see how profound this PC disease is? Even an evangelical TV station based in the USA cannot even criticize "radical Muslims" explicitly distinguished from good Muslims!

You see how profound this PC disease is? Can't you see?

RE: You see how profound this PC disease is? Can't you see?

Yes, it is frightening and I consider it the
most dangerous concept facing humanity today.

"Thought police" is a tool of totalitarianism.
