More war on terror help from our friend and ally Pakistan. From Asia Times, with thanks to JE:
KARACHI - He was once close to Osama bin Laden, has intimate knowledge of al-Qaeda's logistics and financing and its nexus with the military in Pakistan, yet US intelligence has not been able to get its hands on him.Ghulam Mustafa, 38, was picked up about 10 days ago in Lahore, and no charges have been brought against him: he is expected to disappear into a "black hole" and quietly be forgotten.
This is because Mustafa, erstwhile head of al-Qaeda's Pakistani operations, has some tales to tell, but the authorities in Pakistan would rather they were not heard, especially by the Americans, even though Islamabad is a signed-up member in the "war on terror".
Since Pakistan seems to be dominating the news today it would be helpful to review Hugh Fitzgerald's article "The Spoiled Child of American Diplomacy" here:
http://www.jihadwatch.org/dhimmiwatch/archives/009659.php
The theme of the "spoiled child" is frequently invoked to describe all manner of Muslim behavior. Childishness = selfishness and selfishness is inculcated by Islam. The suicide bomber is the embodiment of purely selfish behavior.
And Dr. A. Q. Khan as well remains safely off-limitsto American questioners. Don't want too many questions about the money and other support given to A. Q. by the I.S.I. Nor would it do to have the Americans find out how even its favorite Pakistani generals were in up to their necks in the whole business of the acquiring, and then the distributing to such countries as North Korea and Iran, nuclear know-how stolen, in the first place, from the Dutch (or was it German?) labs where "Dr." A. Q. Khan, national hero of Pakistan, worked.
Would that be the Dr. A. Q. Khan, that our fearless leader is constantly touting as a "success" in our war on terror? What success?
We shut down his network, says he. Did we? says me...
oh, sorry, should have checked that - my post should read "whom" not "that". Call the grammar police!
There is no "Pakistan". Call it what it is, an "Islamist entity". It was established on Indian soil, its non-Muslims were driven out, killed or forcibly converted (which goes on to this day). Using the term these makers of mischief in the land invented only gives them legitimacy they do not deserve.
