MUMBAI, India -- Bollywood filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt will soon start shooting a film about the July suicide bombings in London that left 56 people dead in a bid to show Islam as a religion of peace.Titled Suicide Bomber, the Hindi movie will star Bhatt's son, Rahul, in the role of a young Asian Muslim planning to trigger the blasts in London.
"The movie is inspired by the London bombings and my son will make his film debut by playing the key role of the suicide bomber who is of Asian origin," Bhatt said on Wednesday.
He said that the shooting had a 50 million rupee ($1.1 million) budget and would start in June, adding "I am aiming for a December 2006 release."
The production will be set in London and India.
"I have been researching on the script since the bombings and through the movie I plan to highlight that Islam is a religion of peace and not dreadful as it is perceived by the world," Bhatt said.
"I will attempt to bring out the virtues of Islamic living and also show how the state [government] can sometimes be a demon. The film will delve into the heart and mind of a suicide bomber."
That's one Hindu who has forgotten the "virtues of Islamic living", which include the Hindu Kush and the slaughter of 70-80 million Hindus by Islamists over a 300-year period.

With the 22year old from the murder gang leaving an estate of £120,000 there is obviously a lot of money in fish, chips and jihad.

Or is he simply one more local who is more offended by thevery idea of Hindutva (such an embarrassment to him, something he needs to show he will have no part of), not that he would ever take the time to read about the real history of India, would dare to read K. S. Lal or Francois Gautier or Koenraad Elst, because this would show that he is a narrow-minded Hindu, a supporter of the BJP, and of course being narrow-minded is what he, and those like him in India, cannot possibly be. And when they go abroad, too, their chief aim will be to defend Islam, and for that they must carefully avoid close study of Islam, its tenets, and its history, in India, but also elsewhere, because if they did study how Islamic conquest proceeded elsewhere, and how non-Muslims were subjugated and forced to live, the similarties with what happened in India would be remarkable, and they would have a more difficult time pretending otherwise.
Of course, in India itself, there are advanced Muslims along with the Muslim masses. For several centuries now the Muslims have not ruled. They have had to adjust, first to rule by the British and then to rule in the tolerant, but mostly non-Muslim state, of India. Wherever they have been able to continue to rule, those "Indian" Muslims have been ruthless and much more primitive in their attitudes. Look at how the formerly "Indian" Muslims now in Pakistan and Bangladesh, countries ripped out of India, think and behave. Look at how they have treated Hindus. In Pakistan, the Hindu populatin was about 15% in 1947; it is now 1.5%. Christians live in fear, given all the attacks, over all the years (only now, in the last few years, beginning to be observed by the outside world), on churches, Christian schools, Christian hospitals, on individual Christians accuded (and sometimes murdered as a result). In Bangladesh, the Hindus have been driven out by the milliions, and remaining Hindus, and Christians (and even the Buddhists in the Chittagong Hills area) have been subject to persecution, official and unofficial.
Nothing so establishes the fact that one may be a Hindu, but has gotten beyond all of that, has become totally advanced, westernized, entirely de-Hinduized, essentially an atheist, than to demonstrate one's lack of interest and sympathy in the history of India by defending Islam and Muslims. For the Primal Sin of any Advanced Indian abroad is what is called "communalism" -- meaning, Hindus are not to worry about Muslims or think overmuch about what Islam has meant to India. But then what about the rest of us, who are not Hindus, and who are then mislead by Indians who ignore the history of their own country, the history of Muslim rule and brutality (there was only one Akbar -- and Akbar while revered by non-Muslims in India, is despised and ignored by the Muslims in India and elsewhere).
Understand that what they say should be understood as part of their own psychic drama, their attempt to distance themselves as far as possible from what they see as the most primitive elements in India -- not Muslims, but what they see as primitive Hindus. The phenomenon will be understood by Americans. Imagine Americans in Europe, wishing to please, or to think they are pleasing, the locals not only by engaging in non-stop criticism of Bush and the American government, but also being intent on denying that there is anything to worry about with Muslims or Islam, so intent might they be on distinguishing themselves from "Christian fundamentalists."
That kind of thing can't quite go on as before. Not the mixture as before. The kind of American travellers who wish, as they fondly hope, to fit in with the locals in Europe, will find that the most advanced and intelligent Europeans, despite the propaganda on behalf of Islam, and the censorship that is practiced (see the testimony at www.france-echos.com by the man who was on that Nice-Lyons train and experienced the recent attack, and who knows that what he saw will not appear in the national, or perhaps any, press) will not have any fellow-feeling for those who pooh-pooh the problem of Islam.
And the same lack of enthusiasm for Hindu defenders of Islam will take place, is taking place, in the United States. New-York-Review-of-Books Defenders of the Faith (the Faith being Islam of course -- no one expects any self-respecting Hindu in the West to say something nice or even neutral about Hinduism) will no longer do the trick. Those of HIndu background in the West who, until now, have been so worried about apppearing to be the "wrong kind" (i.e. the unapologetic or too-enthusiastic kind) of Hindus and who have gone out of their way, to prove it, to spend their time minimizing the menace of Islam (and offering up quite unrepresentative Muslims -- as if James Ivory and Ruth Jhabvala had taken their colleague, Ismail Merchant, as a "representative" of Islam when of course he was as thoroughly un-Islamic as is another advanced, entirely-non-Muslim "Muslim," Emir Kusturica in Serbia (the place he, Kusturica, prefers to live, to make movies, and to lead his band).
No one from India, if Hindu, or of Hindu bakcground, is being asked to wave the BJP flag and suppress his own doubts about certain kinds of behavior. But now those who leave India, come to the West, and see that Islam, which before they may not have paid much attention to, is a world-wide threat, and one which Americans need to be educated aobut, have a duty not to engage -- by way of proving to themselves and to others that they are not guilty of that sin of sins, "communalism" (i.e. too much awareness of, and resentment of, what damage Islam did to India). The most celebrated writer, of Hindu descent, in the world is V. S. Naipaul. He has nothing to prove, to anyone, and has seen clearly what Islam did to India ("A Wounded Civilization") and its menace world-wide.
The irony is that Mahesh Bhatt is a Kashmiri Pandit whose kinsmen were thrown out of the Kashmir valley by Muslims.

Should infidels be as offended by this movie as the Moslems were offended by the Danish cartoon of Mohammed? Can an infidel community spokesperson and perhaps an ambassador from some non- Moslem country defend the right of the Moslem to make this film, but at the same time to urge the Moslem to exercise the right without inciting hatred against infidels? Mr. Spencer, perhaps you should solicit a project and money for a documentary to be made of Islam, the true story. An accurate account in cinemascopic detail about the Rise of Islam would help everyone understand the true nature of Islam as it confronts the world today. A movie in the genre of "Islamic realism" showing Mohammed, his behavior, conduct, and his philosophy, his followers, their behavior and conduct, a movie showing from battle to battle the true aim of Islam in strict honest sequence will surely lead to its worldwide destruction.

Because Muslims are a large minority, Indian politicians have taken to pamper them. It is in this context that Mahesh Bhatt's silly and spineless decison to make a movie about the 'religion of peace' has to be viewed.
One would expect more backbone, more guts and ultimately more survival instict (a la Israel) from a country like India that has been at war with a virulent and treacherous Islamic nation like Pakistan for the past 55 years.

Bhatt has a bad case of 'Filmessiah'. He believes himself to be a 'savior'. Only Michael Moore has reached the savior status of 'Filmessiah', and he had to lie a lot to do that. As Filmessiah, Moore is the cinamatic 12th Imam, or Al-Mahdi. Yes, Moore is a muslim. His Islamic name is 'John Kerry'. Bhatt can never reach this pinnacle and bump Moore off.
His movie 'might' ask the question of, 'Why do you say you are peaceful, while you are waging war?'
It's for the same reason that, "I'm going to stop smoking as soon as I finish this carton of cigarettes." Addiction to Allah...when Bhatt figures that out, he will be a step closer to cinema saviorship. Untill then, he is a second rate movie maker, and deserves little notice...

Hero worship is a truly amazing phenomenon. Bhatt apparently believes that anyone who believes anything should be a cause celebre because nobody believes anything anymore and so those who actually do believe something enough to die for it must be heroes.
I sat through the previews of another new "suicide bombers are heroes" flick and nobody said anything, like it was just another movie, mindless escapism, harmless fun.
Why isn't anybody picketing these films? We can't let Hollywood get by with this. We need to organize!

I think she's on to something. David England's idea of a documentary is worthy, but such a project would not seep into the popular culture, reach as wide an audience, or capture the imagination of the average Joe/Jane as a good novel or movie would.
Take for example the Biblical story of Noah. The larger issue was obviously flood-control, but presented into the guise of a story, a poignancy that resonates has been introduced.
Another example: I have some Vietnamese friends whom I've known for years and have tried without much success to raise their awareness about Islamic intolerance. They just weren't particularly interested.
These folks recently saw 'Not Without my Daughter' and were transformed overnight into anti-Islamists. A picture paints a thousand words.
Any among you who are competent at writing prose (obviously not my forte), get busy. Churn out a modern-day, human interest story...one perhaps centered around an impressionable teenage girl who becomes ensnaired in Islamic dawa due to peer-pressure or romance, but who eventually finds her way clear.
Sounds hokey I know. I'm sure you creative folks could come up with something much better. Hollywood may never buy it, but in book-form, it could make a splash.
Our youth should be seen as a very important target audience; they are tomorrow's policy-makers and cultural gate-keepers. And God knows something needs to be done to counter the pernicious influence of the Humanities Dept's in our universities.

I would like to ask our Indian friends to provide some explanation regarding the leftist parties’ positions in India. Those same parties are denouncing India's referral of Iran to the Atomic Agency (Iran’s obvious acquisition of nuclear technology). I believe I understand the position of the leftists: we have had “excellent” relations with Iran in the past, Iran is a friend and Iran has our strategic interests in mind (selling us oil through a pipeline we want) the US/EU has nothing to offer us.
Iran is certainly a good friend of India's and Islam is most assuredly the greatest gift India ever received from its Moslem attackers.

As long as the Jizya tax is paid, the oil will flow. However, one misstep reported to the Umma in Teheran (or Islamabad) about the slightest mistreatment of Moslems in India and the oil will stop! The oil which is supposed to be used to fuel India's economy will help grow an economy increasingly able to demand Jizya to Pakistan (the terrorist country through which the pipeline must run) and of course the "friendly" Iran! Kashmir will have to be handed over or else the oil still stop! Bombings of locations in Bangelore will increase as the economy grows, and ever-larger demands for Jizya will have to be paid for protection. On some days there might be disruptions in oil through the pipeline when righteous men justifiably demand ever more tribute. India will have to gladly pay the extortion/bribe/jizya. With friends like Iran/Paskistan, who needs...?
Was just thinking about the Noah analogy. One of the interesting distinctions between the Bible and the Quran is that the former does indeed weave the concept of faith into a plethera of stories.
The Quran by contrast is mostly verse after tiresome verse of exhortations to fight and stern warnings of hell-fire. What a mind-numbing experience.

This project is a slap on the face of July 7 victims. If it was up to me, I would ban Mahesh Bhatt's movies from UK. Speaking for myself, effective now, am boycotting all (past, present and future) movies by Mahesh Bhatt. I liked 'Saransh' but thinking back, am glad I did not waste my hard-earned Rupees on the Dhimmi's movie.

V.S. Naipul is an intriguing person from a number of standpoints. Born in Trinidad to the small Hindu expat community, later educated in England, a wonderful prolific author and writer of travelogues and critique of Islam. I have a theory about him that he may have always felt a bit out of place in Trinidad . . . and although in love with the English language . . . he yearned for his native land but in a kind of utopian way as might any ethnic group in their diaspora . . . especially on the periphery . . . he let the chips fall where they may . . . and was at the opposite end of the words politically correct. I bet he would have like Jihad Watch!! But might have left when the day comes when Jihad watch is the accepted norm of the land . . . read by the president and school children alike!

"Green screen" special effects will fill in any necessary "London" backdrops and I'm sure that a billion "peaceful" Muslims in the world will be thrilled to secretly- or openly- enjoy the sight of righteously-shredded infidel corpses.
And the film can then sit on the same shelf with that other Bollywood-produced (anti-Salman Rushie) 'epic': "International Terrorist", which showed a fantasy of Rushdie as a Mossad-controlled James Bond-esque Muslim-killer.

The VHP, BJP, Shiv Sena and other Hindu parties haven't got their priorities right. Like I said further above. Their minds are fogged. Just a few months ago Mr Advani even went as far as to praise Pakistan's founder Ali Jinnah!
India was always squarely behind Saddam Hussein (back in the eighties India never condemned the Kuwait invasion for example), so now almost all Indian public opinion is against the US intervention. Former geopolitics ahave a role there, for the US has been always backing Pakistan, India's enemy..
In short, faced with an Islam that would love to wipe India off the map, India's mind is hopelessly muddled .
There is nothing worse than not having a clear mind when facing a ruthless and determined enemy.
The problem with Bollywood is that despite their obsession with Western scene settings (like Switzerland), they are obsessed with Hindu-Muslim unity (like India's politicians), and prefer casting even the war on terror as a war between East vs West, rather than Islam vs the Rest. Ergo, this project. Also, many of the leading Bollywood actors are Muslims, and have a cult following that's totally detached from religious affiliations.
These are not connected to India's Left parties, who are purely anti-US, and have transferred their Soviet allegences to any adversary of the US, be it Iraq, Iran. The only exception was Afghanistan, and that was because of their resentment of the Taliban execution of Afghan president Najib Ahmadzai.
As for the BJP & Shiv Sena, both parties are right now coming apart at the seams, and are in no position to protest anything. As some may remember, in 1993, after the Bombay bombings, the Shiv Sena cracked down on Bollywood, and banned them from casting Muslim characters favorably in movies. As for BJP policies while it was in power, most of them were forced by secular partners in its coalition, which were regional adversaries of the Congress in various states, but secular nonetheless.
I don't know how this will be reacted to in India, but for the reaction to be negative, the reaction in Britain has to be one of umbrage. While most Hindus in India may go along with secular policies to avoid a bloodbath, few have any illusions of what Muslims are up to: while many may be okay with Indian Muslims, very few are okay with Pakistan.
One suggestion: England should cancel its proposed cricket tour to India later this year, or, if they can't officially do that, leading England cricketers should boycott this and reduce the cricket series to a farce. Similarly, England should start a boycott of India until such time Indian public opinion is forced to either align itself openly with Jihad, or join in the ostracizing of Bhatt.
Alternatively, do a documentary on Bollywood's criminal connections.

Rocky: You're right about missed priorities. For too long the Hindu nationalist parties were focused on attacking the miniscule Christian community rather than the Muslim threat in their midst. Some even intertained the bizarre fancy that the Muslims were just closet Hindus and tried to win their support.
Infidel pride & rocky: If I remember correctly, Zeenat Aman led a very un-Islamic lifestyle back in the 1980s as did many other supposedly Muslim actresses, even dating Hindu co-stars.
Then you have Muslim women who are standing up against Islamic oppression such as the Pakistani commedienne Shabana Rehman. I would put Sania Mirza in this category of brave young women breaking free from Islamic totalitarian control. Let's hope we see more like her.

There was a phase when Christians were being attacked, particularly when the spotlight was on conversions of Hindus to Christianity. Like others have pointed out, Stain's murderer Dara Singh is on death row, and unlike here in US, death row in India does not mean 10 years waiting for the meeting with the maker. Right now, as I pointed out above, both the BJP and the Shiv Sena are in a mess, and not in a position to do anything. On the flip side, the Congress is less of a panderer than it used to be, mainly due to the Gandhi family stanglehold being weakened in practice, though not in theory.
On Sania Mirza, the mistake she is making is giving any importance to the Mullahs. She ought to ignore them totally, and cast herself as an Indian, rather than a Muslim. If I'm right, she's above 18, and shouldn't have trouble declaring that there is no co-relation between her acts and being Muslim. If this is followed by threats, it will lead to a necessary showdown that needs to happen.
And should that arise, not only will parties like the BJP & Sena be on her side, or at least neutral, but even the Leftists would likely be, just as they were during the Imrana case. I don't believe that other than Islamic parties like the MQM, many will rally against her.

Also, I'm not advocating that one look to Indians for guidance. But if you want a count of anti-Dhimmis, you'd probably find more out of India - out of a population of 850m,even if you assumed 10% as anti-Dhimmi, that would give you a whooping 85m right there.

If you are going to call Mahesh Bhatt Hindu, you could in the same breath call Spielberg, Kushner & Cohen (the Jewish lawyer for Hamas) Jewish - it would make as much sense.
For the sake of accuracy, it's better to avoid assigning religious labels - be it Christian, Jewish or Hindu - to practitioners of Dhimmitude, unless any of the religions in question made it a policy, (like, say, the Anglican church - I seem to recall the Archbishop of Canterbury making plenty of statements in opposition to the US and support of Islam.)
He also might want to mention to audiences that it is WRONG to kill for any reason OTHER than self-defense while he's at it.

The problem with Sania Mirza goes deeper than her giving importance to the mullahs or being over eighteen. The stark reality she has to face is that the mighty Indian "secular" state, with all its law corts, military and security forces will not be able to protect Sania if she falls out of grace within her own community.
The problem of the Indian state is that it has not boldly implemented a uniform civil and penal code, thereby making mullahs redundant.
Instead, it has encouraged fiefdoms that rule over religious and social microcosms through corrupt politicians.
I would wait for this movie to be released before commenting on it.

More over, Mahesh Bhatt had plans to produce a film based on Sept 11 attacks in USA.Since USA became very strict in letting foreigners after the attacks,he has to abandon that idea.
