I don't know about everything Lindsey says, but what he says here is true. It is a sad day for freedom of speech, and for the trut when such things can no longer be said. "Best-selling author says Christian network tried to muzzle his views on radical Islam," from WND, with thanks to all who sent this in:
Hal Lindsey, considered the best-selling non-fiction writer alive today, has notified the Trinity Broadcasting Network he will not return to his twice-weekly Christian commentary program, "The International Intelligence Briefing," because of what he considers to be efforts to muzzle his opinions about radical Islam.Lindsey, author of "The Late Great Planet Earth" and many other best-selling books and a weekly columnist for WND, has anchored the program for the last 12 years on the world's largest Christian network.
The announcement follows an abrupt six-week suspension of the popular TBN-sponsored program by Jan Crouch, TBN's vice president for programming.
Though John Casoria, TBN's general counsel first told WorldNetDaily the show's suspension was simply a traditional hiatus in lieu of seasonal programming, that statement was later revised to confirm that the network believed Lindsey's program "placed Arabs in a negative light."
Lindsey responded to this allegation: "I don't have to cast radical Muslims in a bad light. If the intimidation and persecution of moderate Muslims makes radical Islam look bad, that is because it is bad – not that I 'cast' them in a bad light. But I have never cast the Arabs as a race in a bad light."
"I also seek to show that radical Islam poses the greatest danger ever faced by the United States," he added. "I believe that God called me as 'a watchman on the wall' to warn America and I must obey – although it is sometimes unpopular."
On the other hand, Casoria told WND he believes the extremists are not Muslims at all but have "hijacked the religion."
Lindsey contends that "the extremists are the ones most literally following the Quran and the Hadith, which are the most holy and authoritative books of the Muslim religion. This is why violence has erupted from Muslims in virtually every century since its birth."
I never watch end times preachers. But I surfed into Hal Lindsey about a week before his dust up with TBN. He's committed the unpardonable sin of studying Islam. It's obvious. How can he go back to ignorance to fit in? It's a conundrum wrapped inside a pig in a blanket.
Not only on the surfce , but even a deep understanding of the ISLAM religion, one can only agree with Hal Lindsey on this matter. Radical ISLAM is indeed a mortal threat to the survivability of Christian life.
Clearly this Mr. Casoria needs to be brought up to speed.

Bravo. Is this not the essence of the fallacy of "Islamophobia?"
Being a Chrisitan mean you dont live by the sword ,That doesnt mean you cant die by one.
TBN is about money not truth. You dont know who your friends are unless you know which side your on.
Just to give readers a sense of the immense influence of the quackadoxy of TBN. They take in about a Billion dollars a year and growing. They have more TV stations across the planet than ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox combined.
This is the way the Crouch's figure it. They think they can make converts in the middle east and increase revenue if they talk nicey-nice with the Mahoundians. True, they will make some converts just out of sheer exposure that muslims have never had before to any form of Christianity. To be quite frank, they are just too stupid to see the threat of Islam. I mean it, when it comes to conceptual issues, they are stupid. When it comes to money, they know how to rake it in.
For the first time in my life I respect Hal Lindsey. His Chcken-Little-Sky-is-Falling Eschatology-mongering has always turned me off. But, this time, he is a voice of honesty.
If this isn't the most astoundingly glaring evidence that Leftist PC has become dominant and its brainwashing virus has spread to the mainstream, I don't know what is: TBN: an Evangelical TV network straight out of Middle America where most of the cheesy, white televangelists have Southern drawls -- censoring themselves in order not to hurt Arab feelings!!!
Again and again the truth is smothered, one only needs to know a little about Islam to see how vile it is, in this day and age peace loving people should not have to endure the duress brought by this savage belief, there is no peace in Islam.
From article: "placed Arabs in a negative light."
"...extremists are not Muslims at all but have "hijacked the religion."
As we know, Islam is not a race, and no muslims have hijacked the Quran. If you take away ignorance and stupidity the only thing left is ruthless (kill the truth/make a buck) profit motivation. It appears that American palomite, above has got it about right. Profit before truth. This is not 'Christian'.
Allah is the Lord of Matter, killing the truth and gross materialism are his realms. As such he is also the god of nature in its 'red of claw and tooth', aspects. This is a basic reason that muslims think everything already belongs to them and they are willing to bloody themselves to retrieve it.
TBN and its minnions are making a huge mistake.
They are letting Allah in and pushing Christ out.
Allah is like Dracula...never let him in through a window, and never invite him in through a door.
As soon as he gets in, the blood sucking begins.
Every Christian organisation that puts money in front of truth, is not Christian. Thats exactly what Mohammad did. 'Loot is lawful'.
TBN should now, fold up its tent and disappear into the night. It has sold out to Mohammads demon, Allah...
Remember to bookmark Hal Lindsey's website for some good commentary on confronting Islam.

I will never understand why Christian organizations such as this one refuse to acknowledge the truth about Islam. They act like they're afraid that Christianity will somehow be diminished or tainted if Islam's malevolence is exposed. This is such a contrast to the attitudes of Christian leaders a mere twenty years ago. Where did Christian courage, conviction, and intellectual integrity go? If the authorities and teachers of Biblical scripture and Christian theology cannot be forthright about the evil of Islam, how can they unequivocally assert the superiority and truth of Christianity?
Islam may be an obscure, exotic Eastern religion in the minds of most people, but Christian theologians should know and understand the basis of the historical conflicts between Islam and Christianity. Since its inception, Islam has been Christianity's foremost rival and enemy, seizing and transforming Christian lands and peoples. All Christian priests and ministers should be well acquainted with Christianity's most formidable enemy, Islam. Political correctness/cultural Marxism relentlessly assaults our traditions, culture, and civilization. Now it is eroding our best hope for defeating the beast of Islam.
Maybe it is all about money.
I cannot help but feel we as a group are circling around an undeniable fact. The reality of Islam is terrifying. No one wants to be the one to break the news. Just like Khubler-Ross's stages of death, the unmasking of Islam goes through them as well:
1. Anger: Racist!
2. Denial: There must be some tolerant verses here somewhere...what about the Andalusian utopia? Doesn't the veil protect women? Nobody reads the Bukhari Hadith anyways. Jews had it sooooo good in the Muslim world before Israel came along and ruined it all.
3. Bargaining: We should meet with Muslim leaders, join together in condemnation of "terrorism". Really, I like these guys, so polite, and the hummus, to die for! Sure, Gaza, oh yes and the Green Line, and East Jerusalem, nice Jihadi. There's a lot of money to be made dealing with the Saudis, just don't act Christian around them, they get all loco.
4. Depression: Multiculturalism has doomed the west. The Saudis bought 10% of Fox - remember the good old days when the Jews ran the media? Theo van Gogh, where art thou!?
5. Acceptance: How can I enlighten more people about the true nature of Islam?
Quijybo
"Radical Muslims" have not "hijacked Islam", but Mohammad hijacked Judeo-Christianity.
That's the real story.
Then he turned it backward about 2,000 years to the worst of the Old Testament's 'God of Vengeance' madness.
And, as far as TBN is concerned, Bob Dylan once sang: "Will all the money you made ever buy back your soul?"
Lindsay (milker of the eschatological End Times cash cow himself), like the proverbial broken clock, can be right at least twice a day.
He was right about Islam. And now he's right about TBN.
I wish PBS would do a "Life of Mohammad" mini-series to balance this picture.
The marriage of Mo to a 9 year old (or was she 6?) would be chamring t.v. They could have some feminist singer's pop tune played in the backround as the nuptials unrolled. (Maybe Sara McLaughlin's "Building a Mystery"? Or Fiona Apple's "Criminal"?)
But, of course, we all know that PBS's p.c. cowardice limits them to videographically kicking Jesus once again and shying away from any serious examination of the foundation myths of the crescent cult.
Because they will come and blow up your offices and behead your reporters if you piss them off by showing their sordid underbelly.
The Chicken Brigades, left and right, march on.
While "chamring" may be a word somewhere (always fun to google typos and see where it leads), I meant "charming", above.
The liberal mainstream media is particularly loathe to offend Muslims by telling the truth about Islam. Now it seems that TBN is meekly following the other sheep in the fold. I wish they were as afraid of offending Christians as they are of offending Muslims. I can only wonder what they will tell Jesus Christ at His return? "Sorry Lord, we didn't tell Muslims the truth about you because we were afraid we might offend some of them."
"I will never understand why Christian organizations such as this one refuse to acknowledge the truth about Islam....Maybe it is all about money."
No, money is only a secondary cause. The primary cause is the cultural sea change which the West has gone through in recent decades, by which PC reigns virtually supreme in the sunshine (while we politically incorrect jihad and dhimmi watchers must warm our hands in the dark interstices of the Internet).
When people like Jan Crouch take action to avoid hurting Muslim feelings, they really believe they are doing good. Somewhere along the line, they really have come to believe the PC givens.
Sorry folks - denial comes first, then anger.
Quijybo
Dr. Pepper,
The PC/multiculturalist "givens" die so hard because most of the time they work. For instance, Buddhist, Hindu, Sikh, or what-have-you immigrants bring their values to America and the west with few problems. For peat sake, in the US we make fun of Hindu religious practices all the time, but you don't hear any complaining about the Simpsons (I think they are all laughing with us). It is only Islam that stands out. This is extremely hard for people to understand.
I think it is an error to attack multiculturalism itself. It is not an enemy ideology; it is founded upon values that Islam opposes. It is a product of our prosperity and the ideals America was founded upon. Multiculturalists and PC types have to experience for themselves what Islam really teaches. Berating leftys for their beliefs will not help them see the light, it will only push them away. Try presenting a leftist with some selected Quran and Hadith passages. Then you see the wheels start to turn. I have done this myself with a very satisfactory effect.
It is Islam against everyone else; Muhammad made this clear, and it is immutable. This means that "everyone else" is a potential ally against the Jihad. Mobilizing people's minds is the most important part of our struggle. In the end, even Muslims can come around. How's that for multiculturalism and political correctness?
Quijybo
So if us Dhimmi watchers are left virtually alone on the bleak edges of reason, where will we go when the proverbial shiite hits the fan (the next big attack)?
Our fearless leaders seem hell-bent on showing just how sensitive they are to islam, meanwhile Americans and westerners are getting their heads hacked off to accompanying muslim silence.
If my pastor told me to go out and kill muslims, I would nod and smile, and after the service I would run like hell for the closest cop station. If there is a supposed moderate, muslim majority out there, why havent they risen up and excised the savages among them? Because maybe they arent as numerous as we would like to believe?
The west hunts down and destroys our demons, why cant they? Why wont they?
If Lindsey is the "best-selling non-fiction writer alive today," he's got a whole raft of fans who might help TBN reconsider its position.
Sometimes you've just got to get the truth out there; it'll disturb some people (TBN) initially, but at least then it's in their heads and they have to think about it.
Not that TBN is my bag; I'm not entirely surprised that my Texas cable provider doesn't have EWTN. ;) Thus, I don't know if they're doing any better than the rest on anti-dhimmitude.
"Jesus confronted false religion (which Islam is) by calling them "whitewashed tombstones", "Brood of vipers", and "sons of hell" in Matthew 23."
(from Hal Lindsey's letter to TBN posted at this website)
This is what I don't understand. Where did Christians get the idea that the essence of Christianity is about being NICE and AVOIDING OFFENSE as opposed to speaking TRUTH, which may well offend people and in that sense isn't necessarily "nice" at all?
It seems the folks over at TBN missed the History Channel special on Rome. It said that many Romans themselves attributed their own Christian conversions when they observed the bravery the Christians displayed while dying for their beliefs in the Coliseum. They were impressed that the Christians never doubted nor disavowed their faith in God. Guess TBN's not up to the same standards of faith.
You are as daft, irrational and obsessive as the muslims. You have indeed become that which you hate.
Same for you Boehmond.
Do you think TBN is afflicted with the cult of PC? Do you really believe that, or is it merely what you want others to believe, thus skirting the obvious..that Saudi money has a pervasive influence?
It certainly buys influence with Pat Robertson, Dubya and the Houston Oil mafiaoso.
Have you forgotten or didn't you know about his investments in Liberia, with Charles Taylor, some $8 million in a gold mine, and let's not forget that he said that Ariel Sharon's stroke was an act of a vengeful god.
Nariz: "You have indeed become that which you hate."
Yes indeedy - Dr Pepper and Bohemond_1069 have had a busy week indeed, murdering apostates, killing infidels, silencing their critics in deep dark prisons AND they've still managed to find a few extra minutes to chop off a few clitorises, shove a few homosexuals off of rooftops and stone a few adulturers to boot. It's quite amazing they find the spare time to post.
nariz~ have a little faith.
Dr. Pepper:
"If this isn't the most astoundingly glaring evidence that Leftist PC has become dominant and its brainwashing virus has spread to the mainstream, I don't know what is: TBN: an Evangelical TV network straight out of Middle America where most of the cheesy, white televangelists have Southern drawls -- censoring themselves in order not to hurt Arab feelings!!!"
LOL, I am amazed that you watch(ed) TBN, "The Blasphemy Network".
However, do you believe "white evangelicals with Southern accents" are cheesy? ;-)
To one poster above:
I don't think "Saudi money" alone explains the prevalent problem we have the in West with PC.
To another poster above:
Most of the TBN people I consider cheesy (at best), except for Mark Chironna, who is impressive.
PS: I like this "Hugh method" of responding: it's so much easier not having to take note of the people's names to whom I'm responding (after all, my time is worth more than theirs -- though not as much as Hugh's, needless to say...)!
Hey, Nariz, Strom Thurmond was'nt such a bad guy, and neither was Joseph McCarthy!!!
nariz~ have a little faith.

Why Gary, Giaour is wallowing in "faith"; he worships Marx and Stalin first, himself second. When someone attacks the left, he takes it very personally. His hubris is phenomenal and his convictions are as immutable as Islam.
He's an enigma, a real condundrum. He's a Marxist but denies the existence of cultural Marxism. He considers Christianity equivalent to Islam, and believes that secularism is the only effective weapon against Islam.
Yep, a little more political correctness, multiculti relativity, historical revisionism, self-hate, and diversity training, icons of the left, are the perfect weapons against Islam. They're knocking Islam dead as we speak.
Whaaaat...?
Nariz is Ol'Giaour??
Hmmm, he's pretty good if it is. I was gone 6-7 months, and I would'nt have geussed.
Guessed.
I have(had) a problem with that word.
I disagree with almost every single tenent of Lindsey's theology and consider his eschatology to be absolutely heretical but... he gets banned for finally saying something I agree with!
If even a self-proclaimed "Christian" network is afraid of offending the enemies of Christ, I can only wait to see their reactions when Christ declares he will "spew them out of His mouth."
Susanp - I've noticed several of your posts where you refer to "political correctness" as "cultural marxism".
This parallel obviously is not widely understood. And neither are the consequences. The recent interview of Alan Finkelkraut, after the Parisian riots, in which the philosopher was grilled by the "PC police" in a manner which totally resembled a Stalinist show-trial was Exhibit A that PC=cultural marxism.
So all I can say is YOU GO GIRL! Keep it up. This is something that people DO NOT grasp yet but it is absolutely vital that they do so.
In times past we used to know "WHO", owned what.Today we know not. My view is that TBN has now become compromised and will do whatever they can to alter any truth. Big heartache for me, but I will look at this as I must. Hal Lindsey did what he believed to be right at TBN. Now he will do what he knows is correct elsewhere, but he will not just go away.
Pepper,
I agree with you partly about the PC-bigots. They are mostly useful-idiot enablers to the Islamists while attempting to silence non-Muslim critics of Islam. We should not underestimate how much damage they've done and how much more they might do yet.
However, Quijybo has a point: PC is not all bad. Islam has got to be the most politically-incorrect ideology every concocted--it's imperialistic, colonialist, intolerant, misogynistic/sexist, gives divine approval to rape and forcible impregnation during war, gives divine approval to the institution of slavery...Orthodox Sunni Islam is even inherently racist (Caliph must be Quraysh Arab).
We need to point these things out often and loudly.
As Quijybo suggests,
"Multiculturalists and PC types have to experience for themselves what Islam really teaches. Berating leftys for their beliefs will not help them see the light, it will only push them away. Try presenting a leftist with some selected Quran and Hadith passages."
Quijybo, just to let you know, Pepper and I are working on a project that will do precisely that: Expose people to the worst of the Islamic texts.
"Then you see the wheels start to turn. I have done this myself with a very satisfactory effect."
I've seen the same effect too. We've got to be able to win people over to the point that the vast majority of the population at least knows the basics about Islam. We also need to help immunize people against the kinds of tactics and trickery used by Muslim apologists and Islamist pressure groups like CAIR.
Here's some info about Cultural Marxism:

I add a disclaimer that I don't necessarily buy into everything he says. But there is much factual info that can be verified independently.
Come to your own conclusions...
Archimedes,
When you say that "PC is not all bad" I think you are making a crucial, elemental error. PC is an ideological construct applied socioculturally. Your statement implies that if we eliminated PC, we would have no good social values left. The point is, we could eliminate PC, and still retain all the progressive social values which people think only the vehicle of PC can deliver.
PC is a vehicle of social values; not the social values themselves.
PC is an inferior, counter-productive vehicle of social values. One of the most glaring proofs that it is inferior and counter-productive: its inability to tolerate condemnation of Islam.
The PC vehicle can be scrapped altogether, and should be traded in for a newer (or older) and better model.
Kentim,
I'm reading that first link now; it's a fascinating thesis, that a specific, concrete group of ideologues actually created mid-20th century PC in order to undermine the vanguard of Western civilization (America). However, I continue to think that PC's roots are deeper, broader and historically longer than that. My conception, though, need not contradict the thesis of that essay you linked; that "Frankfurt school" could have exploited an inchoate nebula of sociocultural forces already percolating (but not quite cohering yet) as a variety of chemicals that required the proper mixture and catalyst to take effect.
Kentim,
Reading the second link now, I see that the author, Atkinson, does delve further back into history to adumbrate a precondition for this "quiet revolution" of PC. I also notice both these essays were written pre-911; a search for his name + islam yielded many articles by him about Islam.
Hi Dr. Pepper.
Another very big influencing factor I believe is William James Pragmatism.
A devious and manipulative philosophy(using psychology), that is so easy to exploit and abuse. The truth is simply manufactured. And who owns the "means of production"?
I think McCarthy stumbled onto Pragmatists, but thought they were communists-- in his questioning of Marshall and Eisenhower-- which was his undoing.
Comminists are pragmatists, just a different type.
This is older, but interesting nonetheless:http://www.textfiles.com/magazines/ZIGZAG/zigzag21
You should be warned Dr.Pepper, your search may lead you somewhere you don't really want to go. Cognitive dissonance will be unpleasant. What you thought you knew, you may find to have been an illusion.
The simple fact is, leaving the Matrix is not easy. Ignorance truely is bliss. At least until the islamic knife draws close.

(Final paragraphs from long analysis)
"Extraction from the Matrix
This series is being written by someone who has extracted himself from the present matrix and who has memory of another world. It is an extraction and post-extraction training course for producing iron, tough-minded sonsofbitches. It is designed for those who know there is something wrong with the world. They don't know what it is, or perhaps are unable to put it into exact words, but they feel it. This series is the source to obtain the tools to know and verbalize with exact accuracy rather than to vaguely feel. It is a system of therapy developed over many years to free the mind of distorted premises and virtual thought and enter the real world.
We are facing a world filled with prisoners who don't know they are prisoners and are addicted to, and demand, the initially easy life obtained through the co-imprisonment of others. Many seek escape into virtual reality, virtual thought, and virtual logic in return for removal from the uncomfortable realities of the real physical world. They are willing slaves in a prison of the mind. Those who are not freed are the enemy. Those people still in a virtual reality which both misconstrues attempts to free them and attempts to free yourself from them as an act of aggression are the enemy. Those who are partially freed are a source of dangerous treason to the Matrix from within.
Part of the task here, should we decide to continue with this series, will be to say what people are forbidden to know or speak at the present stage of Matrix development. Part of the task will be to fill in specifics."

Pepper,
No error at all. I agree that we could dispense with PC as you've defined it. My usage of the term PC in my post, though, was clear enough. Let's not argue over semantics, particularly given that there are seemingly numerous usages of the term PC.

Oops. Lost the material.
Anyways, Pepper, just to clarify:
PC as overzealous thought policing which stifles much-needed criticism = Bad
PC as associated with disapproval of bigotry, sexism, etc. = Good
You may have a more rigorous definition. I was talking informally in more popularly-used terms.
I won't have time to check this thread, but email me on this if you want to discuss it.
I am truly encouraged in a way that I have not been for quite some time. Hal Lindsey was just on Hannity and Colmbs.
This was truly amazing. Alan Combs actually let him speak and said very little. Sean Hannity seemed perplexed as he questioned Mr Lindsey about radical islam and "mainstream" islam. It did appear that he finally began to understand that there really is no difference bwtween the two.
Although Robert's appearance with John Gibson was undoubtedly a first, this interview was in prime time.
GFB,
I saw that, too.
I wish he were a bit more articulate and dynamic, but he did make it clear that the fundamentalists, those who interpret the Qur'an and ahadith literally, are liable to go over the deep edge.
I also wish that he had stated that Islam is not confined to Arabs.
As I understand it, Hannity attended (and may have graduated from) seminary. That be the case, I wonder why he doesn't know the basics about Islam.
