Jihad Watch Board Vice President Hugh Fitzgerald again discusses the urgent necessity of ending jizya payments to the Palestinians and others:
The largest transfer of wealth in human history is that from the oil-consuming nations to the oil-and-gas producing nations -- the Arab and Muslim nations which are almost the entire membership of OPEC. Since 1973 some ten trillion dollars has gone to the OPEC countries. No one has had to lift a finger for that money. No hard work, no entrepreneurial flair, nothing. Just an accident of geology, and the discovery of that oil. Yet the finding of a use for that oil and the producing of that oil has been a work done almost entirely by Infidels.Saudi Arabia alone takes in nearly $1 billion a day. Yet the Infidels have fallen into the trap of supplying foreign aid -- aid that is equivalent to the Jizya because it is a transfer from Infidels to Muslims, with the Muslim recipients behaving as if they are entitled to it and it must continue "or else." The Infidels who give it, for their part, treat it largely as something they simply "must give." Look, for example, at the fear of offending Egypt by ending aid that it has done nothing to deserve. And yet that aid, just like the aid given to Arafat and the "Palestinians" of Fatah, will only provide the loot upon which to batten, and inevitably lead as an inevitable reaction to the anti-corruption impulse being given, as it must in any Islamic society, an Islamic cast and shape and form.
Stop the damned Jizyah. Let Muslims give money to other Muslims. Let Saudi Arabia and Kuwait and the U.A.E. give money to their fellow Arabs (renamed after 1967 the "Palestinian people") if they wish. It will use up some of their discretionary income -- the money that they now use to fund the mosques and madrasas and Muslim propaganda all over the Infidel world. It will not lead, as some fear, to an "increase in extremism," because there is nothing more to increase. The "Palestinians," whether of Hamas or of Fatah, are the self-primitivized local shock troops of the Lesser Jihad against Israel. There should never have been any payments to them in the first place by any Infidels.
And then cut, without giving any reason, the Infidel moneys now being sent to Egypt and to the other Muslim states. It is not only a matter of spending money on those who hate you, and will not, cannot be bought to see things differently. It is also a question of mimicking, in every respect, the classic behavior of dhimmis who fall into a pattern of automatic, unquestioning obedience to Muslim demands and acceptance of Muslim attitudes. This pattern must be broken -- with a loud snap. And finally, the aim should be to remove all the artificial life-support systems that the Western Infidel world has been providing, for so long, and so unwittingly, to Muslim polities and peoples. Let them stand on their own. Let them come to recognize that their political failures are in large part due to their contempt for locating the source of a government's legitimacy in the people. Let them comes to recognize that their political failures stem from their being taught the habit of mental submission, and respect for the ruler as long as that ruler is a Muslim. Let them discover for themselves, and let the point be made again and again by articulate Infidels, that Muslim economic failures, despite the most fantastic unearned riches in the world, are a result of the Muslim Arab inshallah-fatalism, and the contempt for work that is such a characteristic of Arab and Muslim societies. In those societies the model is Muhammad, the perfect man, uswa hasana –- Muhammad the plunderer, the looter, of the non-Muslims. Let Muslim states and peoples be forced to examine the social backwardness of their regimes and the institutionalized mistreatment of women in them. And do not be beguiled by the fake Muslim "feminists" who are so quick to revise their own views (see for example the smiling, amiable Fatima Mernissi, or Leila Ahmad) when they sense that Islam itself may be subject to attack, and who are so unlike those who, born into Islam, recognize that the source of the mistreatment of Muslim (and other) women by Muslims is to be sought in Islam itself.
Sorry, we Infidels choose not to oblige any further. And we will take that money and plow it into the most useful projects -- solar and wind and nuclear energy -- to contain and ultimately defeat the Jihad, over a very long time, by ending the sole real source of its wealth.
Stop the Jizyah - and not just to the "Palestinians" under Hamas, but to the "Palestinians" period, for they are the shock troops of the Lesser Jihad conducted by all Arab Muslims. And stop the Jizyah to the malevolent Egyptians, who failed completely to fulfill a single one of their solemn commitments under the Camp David Accords, and whose country has become a center not only of the expected antisemitism, but of anti-Americanism. And stop the aid to the meretricious Pakistanis, with those generals who offered the Taliban with every sort and condition of support, and who worked hand in glove with Dr. A. Q. Khan -- a man whom they still not only proect (and keep far away from American interrogators), but continue to revere as the Great Hero of Pakistan. Stop the transfer of Infidel money, needed for energy programs in our own coutnries, to whatever Muslim peoples or states happen not to possess oil wealth, the largesse flung about to tutti quanti. Stop the payment of protection money to all those complacent, Jizyah-pocketing Muslims in their self-assured tracks. Just stop. blockquote>
Hugh:
I'd make any kind of transfer of aid monies to any government,Muslim or otherwise, contingent on a number of standards, including transparency, human rights and, of course aiding/abetting terror organizations. Not educating the masses to hate is another one that should be a concern.(Yes, I know the most egregious examples are Muslim, but make these stipulations universal would show that the Bush admin is serious about no longer supporting corrupt despots for "stability" sake.)
This should be obvious to everyone.
Clearly those who believe that we should support liberal democracy will not want to support the current regimes. Those who believe we need to fight the enemy militarily will not want to help the enemy financially. Those who are non-interventionists, either on the libertarian right or the anti-globalist left, should not want us to aid factions within foreign countries. Who on earth can support giving funds a dictator like Mubarak or the terrorist state of Hamastan?
Many of us may disagree with step two, but step one should be: no more aid to our Islamic enemies. All agree?
simple answer - dont buy gas guzzling SUVs
or at least encourage the American right-wing to see that gas conservation is a "patriotic" thing to do - that its not some leftist/green "save the planet" crap.
its a simple equation :
"buy gas = more money for terrorism"
of course, Dubya with his oil connections wouldnt be in favour of that unfortunately.
We should be seeking to emulate the Brazilian approach of replacing petroleum as much as possible
with ethanol. Also, we should be developing nuclear
power (that's for many years out, we've let this slip). No one solution is enough, but it should be clear that we need to get off of the oil habit fast.
So much for ending the Jizya, the EU have decided to keep paying out to the enemy.

Disgusting.
"...Who on earth can support giving funds a dictator like Mubarak or the terrorist state of Hamastan?..."
Many, too many, like Peanut Carter in the US, and many suckers like him, in the EU and elsewhere, have sleepless nights over the possible withdrawal symptoms that would affect them (for whatever reasons) once the Jizya stops.
Perhaps Hugh could elaborate a bit more about who the beneficiaries of this Jiziya actually are (on both sides)
What is it, exactly, the US and the EU intends to buy with these payments? Peace? Foggettaboutit! Goodwill? No way.
"Hearts and minds?"-Obviously not. Economic betterment? In that case we should be seeing some kind of result, somewhere.
Given that 90 % (sic) of Arafats Jiziya was embezzled one can only assume that European, Swiss, or American Bankers could enlighten us as to where the money went.
Yes, definitely time to make an end to this charade!
What Hugh is saying, most Americans would emphatically support. But no writer in the mainstream media is talking about this. How many Americans know the hate that is spewed in Cairo newspapers controlled by the Egyptian government? Explain that to Americans and expose the hate Egyptians have for us and you’ll have Americans up in arms demanding an end to the aid. Yet, the media and even conservative TV won’t mention this outrage.
The same is true of our providing funds for Palestinians. Few call it an outrage. Some raise questions; but how many speak with righteous indignation at the policy of supporting terrorists like Arafat? How people express outrage at the comments coming from Bush and Condi in the last few days. They act as if Hamas’ problem is only a question of rhetoric. Apparently, Hamas leaders are speaking badly and they need to wash their mouths out with soap like bad little boys, before we talk with them again and embrace them like Arafat. I ask what is happening here?
I've devoutly wished for seizure of Islam's oil assets ever since 9/11/2001. That Islam per se isn't responsible for the attack doesn't seem at all to be a point against my policy. Since responsibility is so hard to assign, if it has anything to do with causes, it seems that in the extreme cases, it's better to focus on eliminating threats to national security and finding ways to increase national strength. Claiming control over muslim oil; depriving the Saudis, the Iranians, Wahhabism, the Palestinians, and al-Qaeda of funds; buying off our critics with cheap oil; using the revenues to fund our conquests; and ensuring ourselves a supply of oil, until oil itself is no more; would safeguard us in many ways, for many decades.
Really, it's disgusting that the U.S. people and government think we have the luxury to bring Islam under control in the slowest, hardest, most expensive, and least certain ways. Osama bin Laden isn't senseless in supposing that the U.S. can be pauperized by muslim terrorist organizations, given that we've become too goody-two-shoes for killing and seizing. I'm ready to elect an American Indian as President, if one of them will just come forward and say, "Excuse me, Dances-with-Suicide-Bombers, but I seem to remember better than you the indispensible preconditions for American superpower. They're called 'thunder sticks' and 'treaties,' or lies. Allow me to demonstrate."
