The incoming Hamas government will move quickly to make Islamic sharia “a source” of law in the West Bank and Gaza Strip and will overhaul the Palestinian education system to separate boys and girls and introduce a more Islamic curriculum, a senior official in the movement said yesterday.Spelling out the domestic agenda of Hamas for the first time since the group's stunning victory in a legislative election this week, Sheik Mohammed Abu Teir also said Hamas would not go to foreign donors on bended knee if they withdrew aid to the Palestinian Authority.

The armed struggle against Israel will continue as long as Israel continues its occupation of Palestinian lands, he added.
Separate the boys and girls and introduce a more Islamic curriculum, so say the new rulers of the Palestinian territories. Yes, more of the Koran please. That way, the children can study the finer points of Allah's desires to create violence, destruction and more suicide bombers. In the meantime, keeping with the theme, "All Muslims are victims," the needed doctors, nurses, plumbers, engineers, etc. and money to keep the segregated schools, hospitals, and roads operating can be done by dhimmis who gladly service the pathetic Palestinians.
This makes perfeect sense, since you don't want the boys in class catching a glimpse of seductive skin or naughty navel as the teachers instruct the girls how to tie on suicide belts.
I went to an all-girl, Catholic high school, so I'm not opposed to gender-seperated education outright; I find it interesting-- and not too surprising-- that the same practice seems to be a hot new trend in public education.
What will be interesting to observe is how different the boys' and girls' curricula are.
That observation, however, will be subject to how drastically Hamas changes the schools across the board. "More Islamic" does not bode well for mathematics, science, and literature (to say nothing of art and music), and will probably involve more time spent on rote memorization of the Koran and militant indoctrination.
"Stunning" Victory??
Why are all news agencies shocked by this overwhleming Hamas victory. Have we not been talking about Hamas winning a majority of the votes for months now...
"But... but... the exit polls..." ;)
I went to a only boys school, I don´t see problems, but not obligation for all schools but the decision of each school.
The problem is islam, the palestinians needs employement, works and more works, foreign inversions, professional formation, history for relativize islam and their "wonderful history" and making auto-autocritics. Etc.
