UNITED NATIONS, Jan. 20 - Mukhtar Mai, the Pakistani woman whose defiant response to being gang-raped by order of a tribal court brought her worldwide attention, was denied a chance to speak at the United Nations on Friday after Pakistan protested that it was the same day the country's prime minister was visiting.Ms. Mai had long been scheduled to make an appearance called "An Interview With Mukhtar Mai: The Bravest Woman on Earth" in the United Nations television studios, sponsored by the office for nongovernmental organizations, the Virtue Foundation and the Asian-American Network Against Abuse of Human Rights.
But on Thursday night the organizers were informed that the program would have to be postponed because of Pakistan's objections...
Mr. Aziz is scheduled to see President Bush in Washington next week.
This was not the first time that Pakistan's government had interfered in Ms. Mai's travels. President Pervez Musharraf blocked her from taking a trip to the United States in June and then relented last fall when Glamour magazine honored her as its "Woman of the Year."...

The fact is that Muslim nations have a lot of clout, because there are so many Muslim nations, and tiny Vanutu sells its UN Vote to the highest bidder (it's only apparent source of income, and it' isn't Muslim)

That's because the UN has been infiltrated and infested with Islamic "members", none of which should even be there consdering they don't qualify to even be members according to the UN's own charter. They have also infested many of the NGO's, such as Amnesty International, that find funding and sanctuary within the UN.
The UN has become a corrupted joke, and needs to be disbanded. Everything from elitist leftist enviromental quacks, marxists, elitists who want to rule the world because only they know how the "sheeple should live, to the Islamic Mullah mafia who finds the UN a useful tool and plateform for achieving the dream of a world wide caliph, to the Mother Earth "Gaia" worshippers (Al Gore is a member) who have already re-enacted their own "ark of the covenant" ritual establishing their religion which will one day (or at least it is their desire for it to)replace all religions on earth. The UN even has it's own church with specialy constructed alter, drilled and anchored to deep basement rock inthe earth, where it is believed to draw special power from the "living earth".
The UN is a collection of the worlds most bizzare wierdo's, a selected not elected club of deeply disturbed people who want to control the world. It MUST be dismantled, and a new, serious body, with a clear charter, one which prevents it from becoming corrupted and a throne for wanna be world wide dictators, needs to be built to do what was once a very simple task, provide a forum for the countries of the world to gather and resolve their differences. ONLY if they are legitimate, democratic countries can they be members, as was once the requirement of the UN.

Wishfull thinking. The UN has been agressively trying to take over the internet and censor it, to the increasing demands of the Islamic mullah mafia.
They haven't given up either. Much of what we can openly read on the internet here, isn't available in Islamic countries.

To me 9/11 was on the same order as Pearl Harbour, and nothing but a new world order would do.
In my naivette I had assumed that the George Bush's call for a new world order, had precisely that objective i.e., to destroy the UN as the present world order based on sovereign states, was insufficient to counter religion based terrorism. And the approach to the UN to sanction action against Iraq, a sovereign UN member, was a ploy to destroy the old world order, and usher in a new one. As the UN could never sanction such an action, it would effectively destroy it.
I was wrong. I have felt that the US administration lost a golden opportunity to establish a new world order in the aftermath of 9/11.
