For anyone who caught the UK "news" services today blame Sharon personally for the massacre of Beirut "Palestinians", here's a little detail they forgot to mention...

"Pierre Gemayel (b. Nov. 1/6, 1905, Bikfaya?, Leb.—d. Aug. 29, 1984, Bikfaya) was born into a Christian family already powerful in the region immediately north of Beirut. He attended St. Joseph University in Beirut and trained as a pharmacist.

On a visit to Berlin to attend the 1936 Olympic Games, he was so impressed by the spirit and discipline of Nazi youth groups that on his return to Lebanon he helped found the right-wing authoritarian youth movement called the Phalange. He became the leader of the Phalange Party in 1937, retaining that position until 1980. This party became the political arm of the largest Christian community in Lebanon, the Maronites.

Pierre's youngest son, Bashir Gemayel (b. Nov. 10, 1947, Bikfaya—d. Sept. 14, 1982, Beirut), emerged during the fighting of the late 1970s as the able and ruthless leader of the Phalangist militia.

Bashir was elected president of Lebanon by the Parliament in August 1982, in the face of opposition by many of the country's Muslims", (and surprise surprise) "Bashir was assassinated in a bomb explosion 10 days before he was due to take office.

After West Beirut was occupied by the Israelis, Phalangist militiamen massacred perhaps as many as 1,000 Palestinians in two refugee camps in Beirut in revenge for the death of Bashir Gemayel."

Ariel Sharon isn't even mentioned. Rather, like Iraq's Bathists, Iran's Reza Sha, the Al Husseini clan and doubtless other kindly Arabs, the Phalangists were in fact inspired by the Nazis and good old-fashioned Mohamadism...

Coincidently also today, a poll showed that 81% of the viewers regard Dutch TV news as "a reliable source of information".

This goes back to one of my main points. It as if the Euro libs EXPECT the Arabs to be illiterate, bloodthirsty killers. No one even accuses Sharon of directly killing Paleys at Sabra and Shantila. He didn't prevent Arabs from being Arabs, so he must be a war criminal.
Incidentaly, anyone who is villified by Euro libs is a hero of mine- ie Sharon, Regan, Bush. Euro libs truly are the greatest threat to world civilization - because they are willing to stand idly by and allow dark forces to overcome them. Wouldn't want to "be judgmental" towards the forces of darkness. You might even offend someone.

last night was truely a heartening display of Jewish-Christian Alliance! Anglicans, Messianic Jews, Zionists, a mutant Catholic (myself) - the gentleman standing next to me sounded very surprised "Are you Polish Jewish?"- he asked perplexed by my mysterious accent. "No, Polish Polish" - I replied much to his increasing bewilderment. Anyway I have proved my point holding a poster with "Israel Reaches For Peace. Iran Theratens War" written on it. The TV crew failed to turn up again (hmmm..wonder why). Nevertheless we got lots of publicity from the passing bikes, cars and buses. They cheered us with hooting and friendly hand-waving. Special thanks to the several black bus drivers, who gave us roaring applause (I just hope that there were no Muslim passengers aboard that would report on them or am I becoming paranoid?). There were prayers for Ariel Sharon, Israeli songs and a shofar blown by one of the participants. We chanted "Peace for Israel!" and "No Holocaust denial!" I wonder if they gave the "diplomats" across the road at the embassy some food for thought at their teatime.

Leaflets were distributed among us. They say as follows:

On a different note a piece of information for Pravo - in a reference to the Armenian genocide you quoted the infamous Hitler's words before he struck Poland: "Who remembers the Armenians today?". He was right and nobody stopped him. There was however someone who did try - the Polish leader, Marshall Jozef Pilsudski wanted to launch a preventive war against Germany in ...1933, but the West refused to cooperate! Who knows what fate would have befallen my country if had had not died only 2 years later!

While Sharon was in no way responsible for that massacre, neither was Bashir Gemayel's assassination. This was the work of Elie Hobeika, who went on to be Syria's main enforcer in Lebanon. According to Robert Hatem in his book "From Israel to Damascus", not only was Sharon unaware of this, but this event was what broke off ties between Sharon & Hobeika. In fact, Cobra (i.e. Hatem) went on to speculate that the whole chain of events was rigged to benefit Syria, as actually happened.

The book was first published in French. It's funny that a lot of folk in France and Belgique can't seem to read Francais. Funny, ain't it? Recall that even after the book was published in France, certain pro-Arab/pro-PLO elements in Belgique were still trying to prosecute Sharon for Sabra/Shatila.

by the way, Barbara Newman, a former TV journalist for an American network, had already reported in her book of memories of Beirut that Gemayel's friends already believed in the 1980s that Hobeika had been behind both the assassination of Gemayel and Sabra-Shatila, and all on behalf of the Assad gang in Syria. Actually, I don't think that there was any question that he led the Phalange units that went into Sabra-Shatila. But what clearly told of his Syrian ties --and of the PLO's fake concern about finding and prosecuting the guilty in the Sabra-Shatila affair-- is that Hobeika was given a cabinet ministry in Lebanon under the Syrian dispensation [I think while Hariri was pm]. Now the PLO never demanded, as far as I know, that Hobeika be punished for his overt role in Sabra-Shatila. That proves, as said above, that they really didn't care about the guilty parties; they just wanted to besmirch Israel.
