Jewish group backs talks with Hamas

Israel Suicide Watch Alert from JTA, with thanks to Teri:

A Jewish group called for talks with a new, Hamas-led Palestinian government.

In a statement, Jewish Voice for Peace called the rise of Hamas a “matter of great concern to every Jewish group,” but said negotiations are the “only way”out of the current conflict.

“It is not more acceptable for the Palestinian Authority to refuse to talk to Israel than it is for Israel or the U.S. to refuse to talk with the legitimately elected representatives of the Palestinian people,” the group says.

Israel refuses to talk to Hamas until it renounces terrorism and recognizes Israel’s right to exist, a position backed by the United States.

The message they're sending is, "we respect your right to want to kill us."

Now that's "tolerance" for you.

When did the instinct for self-preservation mutate out of the Western gene pool?

The only talk Hamas wants to hear is:

"Here is our money, here is our land, here are our throats."

Ain't peace a bitch?

Idiots

What the world

sweet love
Not just for some
But for everyone

Sing it loud, people! I wanna hear it!

Jewish Voice For Peace are NOT Israeli...

they are an American organisation.

more info on them here - seems like there's a discrepancy between what they are saying to the IRS versus what they are actually doing:

http://www.omdurman.org/taxpayer/

l would round up those pitafull people take them over to the slaughterhouse, and say your next in line...wonder if they can comprehend their actions?

My friend the Archduke is only partially correct. Jewish Voices for Peace is a group of "useful idiots" who front for the Palestine Solidarity Movement (PSM) ergo International Solidarity Movement(ISM).

Anyone who supports economic boycott against Caterpillar, Motorola, United Technologies and ITT is patently an economic ignoramous.

But any group calling themselves by the Orwellian moniker Jewish Voices for Peace who signed on to all of those liberal Protestant resolutions to "tear down the wall" sic security barrier or supported similar ones on divestment can only be classified as not for peace.

Why? Because they support war, both lethal and economic, against innocent fellow Jews who live in the Jewish State of Israel next door to the Islamic Republic of Hamastan.

Watch for these useful idiots to turn out to protest tomorrow's first annual Islamofacism Day rallies across the US and in significant numbers at the PSM/ISM conference at Georgetown during Presidents Weekend, February 17 to 19.

What is that Talmudic precept: "someone's coming to kill you, kill them first."

Hamas getting elected was a death warrant for Israel, now this group is saying, "Where do I sign?"

Whether you stand at the front of the line or the back, in the end your neck will still go on the block.

Chinese Gordon and Shinoliite:

Where once upon a time Jews would self-aggrandize on the basis of how religiously observant they were or which country in Europe they came from, now that so many of us are secular, it's become a game of who is more "fair minded" and JVP, with its ridiculous moral equivalence, is an example of that holier-than-thou attitude.

Legitimate democracies respect the rights of minorities and prefer negotiated settlements to war. We know that Hamas does neither and that their election parallels the election of Hitler's Nazi party in the early 1930s.

I vote that any Israeli who wishes to negotiate with Hamas is required to move to Gaza.
Nothing like living directly with the consequences of their stupidity to shut such people up.

Anyone can be stupid:

Palestinefeld: George Costanza, Brad Pitt Team w/ Islamic Terrorist

Costanza's priorities are striking: He pulled out of doing KFC ads when PUTA (People for the Unethical Treatment of Animals and humans) objected, but supporting terrorists--he won't back down from that. Chickens, yes; innocent civilians, no.

but when Haaretz journalists write like this:

We don't need any favors By Yoel Marcus
http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/676691.html

Israel doesn't need permission to exist, certainly not from the primitive, fundamentalist societies that live around it.

then one knows that groups like Alexander's "One Voice" and "Jewish Voice for Peace" don't know if they are Arthur or Martha.

The Jewish Voice for Peace. Sounds like the next kidnapping and beheading victims to me.

No one who is a member of JVP lives in Hevron. Or lived in the Gush. I'm just saying.

How do we go about promoting Muhammad T shirts?
We'd have twelve to choose from.

I sometimes think the biggest threat to Israel's survival comes not from jihadists, but from self-hating Jews.

Too many of my people are stupid-pill junkies. :(

Hamas funding update:
http://www.dw-world.de/dw/article/0,2144,1887795,00.html

ok, there seems to be a bit of confusion about all of this - some people saying that the EU has backed down.

what's happened is that the EU, USA, Russia, and UN have agreed to keep funding the P.A. "interim government" until Hamas take charge i.e. make sure the cops are paid , so that outright civil war doesnt break out.

More here:
"But the Quartet warned that the Palestinians' critical lifeline of foreign aid could be cut off unless Hamas -- perpetrator of deadly suicide bomb attacks on Israelis -- abandons violence, recognizes Israel and embraces the diplomatic "road map" to peace."

so, that funding cut off ultimatum to Hamas is still there.

And i read today that Hamas have basically said "get lost" in reponse.

I wanted to post the following item and I thought this was as good a place as any. I hope people see it:

http://www.becker-posner-blog.com/archives/2006/01/hamas_palestine.html

It is a commentary from Judge Richard Posner of the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals on the implications of the Hamas election. Legal scholars know Posner to possess a brilliant legal mind. He is one of the pioneers in the movement towards economic analysis of the law. "Economic Analysis of Law" is the title of one of his texts, in fact. He is a creative and unconventional thinker. I hope the JW/DW webmasters will place this item more prominently. I'd be interested to read everyone's comments.

"To talk, or not to talk",that is the big question of course.

Eventually there will have to be a dialogue between Hamas and Israel, but from a position of strength and a strong resolve.

The Gaza strip giveaway in the interest of trying to create somekind of peaceful resolution clearly backfired. The arguement was to show the rest of the world how the Palestinians would act if this concession was made to them from Israel. Well it clearly showed the rest of the world the true colors of the Palestinians by seeing them vote in Hamas as if they had won the Gaza strip through their continious acts of terrorism.

Now Hamas has been embolded further, and further into attempting to reach their goal of fully implementing their 36 articles of the Hamas Charter.

As many experts have warned time and time again; you cannot negotiate any peaceful settlement with the Palestinians, and that should put this Idea to rest for once and for all.

Hamas and the Palestinians will continue to receive every penny they are accustomed to receiving and it will be with the blessings of the Commander-In-Chief.

There are only two issues Hamas might be willing to discuss with the Jews:

1. How soon can you leave?

2. If you aren't prepared to leave, how soon can we kill you?

Any Jew who thinks Hamas may be open to other discussions has failed to learn the lesson of the Shoah--i.e. when a genocidal Jew-hater says he plans to liquidate you, it behooves you to take him at his word.

Let’s take the Hamas victory as an opportunity to rally public opinion against continued support for the Palestinian terror state. Most Americans weren’t aware of the extent to which we and other Western nations are responsible for the continued existence of the “refugee” problem. The naked truth should prompt an outcry: they lied to us. Politicians of both parties deceived us. The truth of the matter is that Palestinians fully support terrorism … it’s not just a few bad apples. Readers on this venue knew the truth but we should rally public outrage at our government’s deluded support for terrorism.

To go on the attack, one has to vociferously denounce all attempts at trying to “reform” Hamas. Such attempts require whitewashing this hate-movement. It amounts to trying to reform the Klan. Nothing else but a righteous vilification of this hate movement is acceptable. Demand a boycott, like there was against South Africa! Or an embargo of Gaza, to start! But in all cases, reject giving Hamas “a chance.” Any politician who suggests such a thing should be damned as soft of Islamic terrorism and run out of town.

It’s time to do the shouting instead of the anti-American 5th column and appeasers. Demanding that our government change isn’t disloyal or mindless bashing … not if you give a clear alternative that gives hope. And not if you allow our leaders (of either party) to redeem themselves by getting some backbone. Let’s go on the attack ... or call it tough love. But don’t let them even suggest there is hope with either Hamas or Fatah. The game is over if we demand it.

WTF Israel suicide watch?

So when Abraham Lincoln said talks with the confedrates is possible but my conditions are unconditional surrender Lincoln was appeasing the south?

Don't read to much into willing to talk, Israel is not France.

Speaking of France...http://www.islamonline.net/English/News/2006-01/29/article02.shtml

JasonP is right. The Hamas victory should be an occasion for rallying public opinion for decency,in this case against the Hamas. But for Israel, I personally favor continuing the policy of targeted executions of Hamas leaders. The executions of Rantisi and Shaykh Yassin made many Israelis joyful. The present Hamas leaders are all murderers, and death sentences for them can be obtained legally. Of course, if we're at war, then they can be killed on those grounds.
Now, as to so-called "Jewish Voice for Peace" and allied enemies of peace [such as the American Friends Service Committee], just whom do they really represent? How many members do they have compared with how many paid operatives? Where does their funding come from? Search for their funding sources and the answer to your quest may tell you whom they represent.
Speaking of Israeli politics, don't believe media reports that people support pm Sharon's Qadima party. And don't believe alleged polls or public opinion surveys that show support for Qadima. I don't know anybody who supports Qadima here in Jerusalem. I asked family members and friends in the Tel Aviv, Kfar Saba, and Ra`anana areas if they know anybody who supports Qadima. The answers are either Nobody, or Very few. If you want to know how Israelis feel about Qadima and about deputy pm Ehud Olmert, then read the comments sections on the Israeli Hebrew-language news websites, like nfc.co.il; nrg.co.il, ynet.co.il, etc. Olmert has long had a fishy reputation as a slick operator. In 2002, despite being a former minister, the Likud primary elections put him in the 33rd place on the list, which means that he was not very popular in the Likud even before Sharon's volte face to support the "unilateral withdrawal" insanity. Don't believe your press or TV [or CNN or BBC] about the alleged popularity of Qadima or Olmert or their policies. By the way, Olmert, like Sharon, has been under investigation for influence peddling in a major scandal.

Why doesn't the rest of the world print the cartoons to show support for freedom of speech?

Here is my idea for a cartoon:

On the left….Christ
On the right ….Muhammad

Caption at the bottom”
“So who do you think will be offended more? Christians for drawing Christ next to Mohammed, or Moslems for drawing Mohammed?”

Howard, Fine & Howard:

Thanks for the link to Judge Posner's blog. It is a good piece. The meat of it is this:

Hitler and Mussolini took power in a more or less orderly democratic fashion and Lenin by a coup, but in all three cases the consequence of the seizure of power by a radical party was the opposite of moderation. Hitler and Mussolini remained popular until their policies failed dramatically; there is no theoretical or empirical basis for supposing that popular majorities in all societies are bound to favor more enlightened policies than a dictator or oligarchy would.

How then to explain the empirical regularity that democracies rarely war with each other, and the concomitant hope that if Palestine were democratic it would stop trying to destroy Israel? The answer lies in considering what is required for democracy to take root rather than to make a rapid transition to dictatorship. Democracy is unstable unless anchored by legally protected liberties, including freedom of speech, freedom from arbitrary arrest, and property rights. The liberties in turn tend to be unstable without a measure of democracy. When there are no liberties, a one-sided election can result in a quick extinction of democracy, because there is nothing to prevent the winner from calling an end to the electoral game in order to perpetuate his control.:

Now what Posner doesn't speak to is that although Hitler was elected and handed control of the company based on representation in the German legislature, are two factors -- the outrageous manipulations that included the burning of the Reichstad and blaming it on his political opponents then using the occasion to seize absolute power. He relied on the democratic process to ascend to power, which was the only way he could, but once in the cat-bird seat, he behaved like the totalitarian that he was. Possibly Mussolini was more of same, but I'm not grounded enough in Italian history to know if there's a parallel there.

And only time will tell if Hamas will govern as a democratic government, respecting the rights of minorities, etc., or if they will govern like a pack of bikers who happen to have a strong Islamist bent.

A bunch of insignificant Sheehan-type Jewish loons.

a feel good story.."(Debka)

"Israeli Border Guard commandos corner and kill Jihad Islami’s West Bank top commander chief Nidal Abu Sa’ada and a second operative

One Israel soldier seriously injured when his unit stormed the terrorist hideout in Arabeh, west of Jenin Tuesday. A third terrorist stayed barricaded inside.

feel good story except for the brave Israeli soldier seriously hurt, i.e.

HAMAS says it is seeking new suckers to dole out welfare

RAMALLAH, West Bank (AP) - A senior Hamas official said Tuesday the Islamic militant group is already looking for new sources of funding after the international community threatened to cut off aid, warning that Hamas will not be ``blackmailed.''

Osama Hamdan, a member of the group's exiled leadership, spoke a day after international donors said millions of dollars in aid could be in jeopardy if Hamas does not change its violent ways.

Hamas will likely find it difficult to persuade Muslim nations to make up a shortfall from a Western aid cut, and the threat of no money remains the international community's best weapon to get Hamas to moderate its ideology.

HAMAS rejects quartets move as blackmail

The Islamic Resistance Movement ( Hamas) has rejected as "blackmail" demands by the Quartet Committee of key Mideast peace brokers to renounce violence and recognize Israel.

Hamas spokesman Musheer al-Masri, who was elected legislator in last week's parliamentary elections, said in a statement released late on Monday that the Quartet Committee of the United States, the United States, the European Union and Russia "should reconsider their position."

The Quartet Committee said after a London meeting on Monday that if Hamas participates in the new Palestinian government, it should renounce violence, recognize Israel and abide by agreements that the Palestinian National Authority has reached with Israel in the past including the Quartet-sponsored roadmap peace plan which envisions a two-state solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

UN Secretary General Kofi Annan also said that the Quartet Committee will review aid to the Palestinians following Hamas' landslide victory in the Palestinian parliamentary elections.

Responding to the Quartet demands, al-Masri urged the international community to respect the Palestinian people's choice and the election results, saying "any support to be offered to the Palestinians must be based on rightness instead of extortion."

Al-Masri also asserted that Hamas was wiling to "expand trust roots" with all the concerned parties, but rejected any preconditions that might "foil Palestinians' progress on the right way."

Meanwhile, another Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri appreciated the Quartet's efforts in pushing forward the Palestinian democratic progress, but urged the committee to press Israel to end occupation and aggression.

Looks like the Arabs one up the Jews even on chutzpah, the bankrupt beggar making demands, while begging for welfare

That's all it is, all Arabs subsist (get fat and prosper) on welfare.

KSA, Palestine,Iraq, Egypt,Libya are welfare states, partial or total subsidy of it's people, yet the World Bank and the Bush
Administration demand that other nations privatize everything, including utilities, water and petroleum, yet Saudi Oil is owned by the state, oops forgot the Saudi royals own KSA, so it is privatized already.Same with the rest of the mideast. Privately owned welfare states, where not theocracies like Iraq and Iran.

instead of storming the building the rodent Nidal Abu Sa’ada was in they should simply have leveled it,,no injured soldiers.
