BAGHDAD, Iraq - Kidnappers threatened in a new videotape broadcast Saturday to kill four Christian peace activists unless all Iraqi prisoners were released, saying they were giving the U.S. and Iraqi governments a "last chance" to save the hostages.The tape dated Jan. 21 and broadcast on Al-Jazeera showed the four men — two Canadians, an American and a Briton — standing near a wall, before cutting away to another shot in which they were seated and talking, but their voices were not heard.
The newsreader said the group issued a statement with the tape saying it was the "last chance" for U.S. and Iraqi authorities to "release all Iraqi prisoners in return of freeing the hostages otherwise their fate will be death." No deadline was set.
The previously unknown Swords of Righteousness Brigades has claimed responsibility for the kidnapping.

I wondered what had happened to these four "hostages". This terror group has set two previous deadlines for killing these men and each time the deadline passed with nothing happening.Now there's no deadline just an open ended threat. This reminds me of the movie "Ruthless People" in which the kidnappers continued to "marked down" their hostage after the woman's husband kept refusing to pay their ransom demand.
The U.S. has been sending mixed signals as to dealing with hostages. Hope & prayers for the hostages, and for finding a way to halt the idea of this action from Islam.

I thought these hostages would be released once all the "FEMALE" prisoners were released. I guess its just PR work by nice, decent, misunderstood, level headed and intelligent muslim "freedom fighters" to make sure the Quran, Islam and muslims look good...
C'mon CAIR!! Hurry up and catch the next flight to baghdad so that you can stand in the airport lobby and express your "outrage" and "support" for the hostages and their families. This may sound cold, but I would prefer that these infidels be killed, all four of them. These people are not "peacekeepers" as the media falsley claims. If they were peace keepers they would be protesting the genocide in Sudan, the persecution of Christians in Dar al Harb, or, at the least, Saddams genocide of the Kurds. The only violence they protest is when Israel and America defend themselves. The philosophy of these four is Norm Chomsky's ideas mixed with Christian pseudo rightiousness, and they belived this position would be an insurance policy for them in Iraq, as it has been in Palestine (Dont kill me! I hate the Americans just as much as you! Dont kill me because we both know God is anti American!) If they were to survive it would send a message that the jihadists are compassionnate, and it would embolden all who hate the West in general and America in particular.

Where did you read that they are Quakers? Yahoo news does not mention Quakers at all, and identifies them as below.

I attended several local Quaker meetings a while back, and heard no ranting at all. In fact the participants were quite civilized and calm.
As pacifists it would be out of character, but not impossible, to be activists and investigate such things as prisoner abuse. Thats political as well as humanitarian, and Quakers refrain from politics. I have never seen a fire-eating, ranting Quaker, but maybe they exist somewhere.
Next time you see one, point him/her out to me. I want to witness this ranting myself...
