"We have never had a dispute with Hamas or anyone else regarding the principle of resistance." Remember that statement the next time some learned analyst tries to draw a sharp distinction between the "Arab nationalist" and "Islamist" wings of the "Palestinian" movement. From MEMRITV, with thanks to a tea-loving snail:
Following are excerpts from an interview given by the Palestinian Authority's National Security Advisor Jibril Rajoub, which was aired on Al-Jazeera TV on January 11, 2006.Jibril Rajoub: We were the ones who fought and kept up the resistance, sir. We never removed the resistance from our platform, and we never will.
As you know, it was Marwan Al-Barghouthi who founded the the Al-Aqsa Brigades, according to a decision by Yasser Arafat. Marwan was the chief of staff of the Al-Aqsa Brigades. Marwan and Abu Ali Yatta head the Fatah list of candidates, and this serves as a message that has to do with the resistance and the struggle.
We have never had a dispute with Hamas or anyone else regarding the principle of resistance. In all our agreements our brothers in Hamas and the other factions, we always insist that resistance is our legitimate right.
I read the court decision in the Barghouti case. It's funny that despite the info contained in court testimony in that case as to Barghouti's supply of money, equipment, and instructions to the actual terrorists and their direct handlers, the EU and USA have not seen fit to cut off funding to the palestinian authority. It was clearly testified in that case that arafat gave barghouti broad, general directions which he passed on in more specific form, and that arafat gave barghouti money. And there were captured documents to the effect that arafat was giving out money for terrorist purposes, and not only to barghouti.
So the Western govts and EU and Japan are guilty of fostering and funding terrorism, mass murder, etc. Likewise, the Saudi and other rich Arab princes have been funding PLO and Fatah terrorism for many years. After all, if they supply the money and know what is being done with the money and they do not stop the flow of money, then they too are guilty. Also guilty are the "human rights" and "pacifist" hypocrites who are an indispensable part of the terrorist support system, in tandem with the Western, Japanese and Arab money.
Rhetoric and tactics differ. Goals do not. How could they? How could Muslims accept the permanent presence of an Infidel state, no matter what its size, in Dar al-Islam? They don't accept the permanence of any non-Muslim sovereign state, anywhere. The world belongs to Allah and to the the Muslims, and among the Muslims, to the "best of peoples" the Arabs. That doesn't change. It can't. It won't.
I have this question, that not even Israeli's can answer. What are the Arabs resisting against?
When I hear them talk of the Occupation (Iraq or "Palestine") I keep asking what is meant by occupation. What are the Israeli's occupying, other than the state of Israel, and the land that they justifiably hold (by defeating their enemies in a defensive battle).
Is anyone claiming that America should be given back to the indians? Or that England back to the Angles and Saxons (who themselves stole it from the Brettons who themselves invade and took it from the aborgines). The right of conquest is as old as man, France is France because of the right of conquest, same with Germany unified by Frederick the Great and Bismark.. but only Israel is suppose to be guilty of illegal "occupation", which was land gained in self defense, unless America and Europe which was land gained by force, fraud and offense.
And what is America occupying in Iraq? Since the Iraqi' (Shi'a) have their own government and constitution and are running their own country.
No one seems to address those questions and issues.
They need to be put to rest, once and for all time.
