'Rocket barrage if Sharon dies'

Looks as if just handing out pastries won't be enough. Now it's "candies and rockets and praying to Allah." From WND, with thanks to JE:

JERUSALEM – Palestinian groups in the Gaza Strip are watching the news regarding Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's deteriorating health carefully and will celebrate with Qassam rocket firings at Jewish towns if Sharon dies, terror leaders told WorldNetDaily.

One militant leader threatened the life of Sharon's temporary replacement, Deputy Minister Ehud Olmert, who was installed as prime minister just hours ago.

"I am ready with my candies and my rockets and praying to Allah that Sharon dies. We have prepared a celebratory barrage of rockets ready to fire into Israel on the occasion of the death of our enemy," said Abu Abir, spokesman for the Popular Resistance Committees, an umbrella group of Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorists responsible for firing hundreds of Qassam rockets and mortars at Jewish towns.

Sharon symbolizes everything that Islam fears about Israel...he has been the embodiment of Israeli defiance.

I fear Islam would see his passing as some sort of divine "green light" to wipe Israel off the map.

Israel needs to hit back hard if this rocket attack eventuates, to send the message that Sharon is not the only heroic Israeli...there are plenty more like him.

Mike_W:

I don't think Arik is the only senior Israeli politician who is prepared to whang the crap out of the rocket launchers if sufficiently provoked. The Minister of Defence, Shaul Mofaz, ain't no pussycat, and while his name hasn't come up as a potential leader of Kadimah, who knows? His military credentials and his Iraqi origins might make him a pretty attractive candidate.

Anyone better informed than me as to Mofaz's profile on the Israeli political scene care to comment?

Giving away Gaza necessarily entailed putting the national government on an increased military footing.

If Israel goes through with plans to concede the remaining territories, it must transform its government to handle significantly increased hostile military activity (Holy Jihad).

I just had to share this bit of irony.

Ahmadinejad and Pat Robertson agree on Sharon.

Robertson, Ahmadinejad Suggest Sharon Deserves Ailment
Sharon’s ill health has drawn a mixed reaction, with well-wishes from leaders from around the world including the Palestinian Authority. In Iran, state media reported Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said: “Hopefully, the news that the criminal of Sabra and Chatilla has joined his ancestors is final” – a reference to the Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon where over 1,000 Palestinians were killed in 1982. An Israeli commission on inquiry concluded Sharon bore “personal responsibility” for the incident. Meanwhile, Christian broadcaster Pat Robertson indicated Sharon’s condition was a consequence of his decision to withdraw from the Gaza Strip.

* Christian broadcaster Pat Robertson, on his program “The 700 Club” : “Ariel Sharon, who was again a very likeable person, a delightful person to be with. I prayed with him personally. But here he is at the point of death. He was dividing God's land, and I would say woe unto any prime minister of Israel who takes a similar course to appease the EU, the United Nations or United States of America. God said, ‘This land belongs to me, you better leave it alone.’"

The Guardian of London reported on Wednesday Robertson is heading a consortium in talks with the Israeli government over building a sprawling biblical theme park by the Sea of Galilee.

'Rocket barrage if Sharon dies'

And this differs in what way from the usual day-to-day state of affairs in what way?

Yeah, I actually watched The 700 Club on purpose last night after all the buzz about Robertson's comments. As Robert pointed out, it's apples vs. oranges. The one common thread is that we can look at both Robertson and Ahmadinejad and wonder what the hell will come flying out of their mouths next.

The proper Israeli response is a celebratory barrage using MLRS.

Use Fire Finder radars to locate the launching site, then level a 100 meter diameter circle centered on the site. Each time after that, level a 1000 meter circle. It would be a terrible, grim, bloody response, but I doubt if they would have to do it more than two or three times.

"Peace through superior firepower"

Amen, Jay-- I'm sure you've seen this site:

Funny, I'm drinking from my "Peace Through Superior Firepower" mug as I type.

Mmm. Caffeine with a message.

Got to agree with Jay. Israel should utterly devastate ANY sites firing missiles into Israel.

More scumbags.

I am "gob-smacked" that people can pray to a god in such a way and still think their god exists.

All this god stuff is just an excuse to be vile.
If there is a god of any kind, he's got his mobile switched off and has gone to the outer reaches of the galaxy.

If allah is so bloody perfect why on earth did he create humanity.

I despair at the thinking of humanity and reckon we're going the way of the dinosaurs and how much better for the world that will be.

The Mad Mullahs' of Iran Caldron May Coming to a Boil Soon

Dr. Zin's Regime Change Iran post today by Alan Peters is a must read re the strategic consequences of the illness of Sharon. The Mullahs' may be about to set in motion a high stakes chess game.

Follow this comment thread from Chester (pending approval) back to Dr. Zin's site.

Mark and Chester,

You have my vote especially re EMP generated by low level tact nuke off N/E US Coast from OBL/AQ's Navy of ghost junk freighters.

If I had coastal defense operational responsibilities, I would want to know where these freighters are at all times.

Further be ready to "splash" them if they venture in scud range of the US Coast.

An EMP attack would royally screw up Gaza, for instance. No rockets, cars, most radios, tv, computers... and pretty much bloodless-- from my limited knowledge on the subject, I think it's possible to create one without nukes.

Dr. Zin... is that a Johnny Quest reference?

Quote above post..

marilyn,

One would hope for better statements from both of these people, but they have the right to say what they thought. You also state what is on your mind very well.

You can call god any time you wish , or never if that is your desire. But he will get the call, just sing off with the name of his son and it will get to him.

If you study just a bit, you will find it hard to see, (the process of how our world was put together) not to be the product of design. I like to explore fractals, give it a try.

It may not change your mind, but it will lead to a higher understanding of the system we are part of.

Shinolite,

I have good news and bad news for you. Yes, a non-nuclear EMP device can be built.
