Osama warned not long after 9/11 that soon many more planes would be falling out of the sky. Perhaps this is what he was referring to. From AP, with thanks to Jeffrey Imm:
WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Bush gave new details Thursday about a foiled terror attack in 2002 in which plotters planned to use hijacked commercial airplanes to strike the West Coast.Bush said the West Coast plot targeted the tallest building in Los Angeles, since renamed the US Bank Tower, and involved Khalid Sheik Mohammed, the mastermind of the September 11 attacks, who was captured in 2003.
Bush had referred to the plot before. In an address last October, Bush said the United States and its allies had foiled at least 10 serious plots by the al Qaeda terror network in the past four years, including plans for September 11-like attacks on both U.S. coasts.
The White House initially would not give details of the plots but later released a fact sheet with a brief, and vague, description of each.
And it only serves to point up: How many more things will we eventually hear about? How much will we Never hear about, but which the MSM would love to expose for their political darlings?
So where is this White House Fact Sheet? And how come it has not been widely printed in the media? The public has got to be anxious to hear about these things.
Actually now I'm seeing more info coming out on FoxNews about three major attacks thwarted in the last four years:

The amazing thing is how eagerly the dopey dems would rather see us fail in the war on terror just so they have some campaign issues. The party of abortion and same sex marriage only wishes America ill. Go figure. I have the news round-up this morning on this very point.

President Bush said "We will never rest until this threat to American is removed."
Well, is the threat terrorism or Islam?
The Armenian Genocide was the precursor to the Nazi Holocaust. The Armenian Genocide of the 20th century was brought to us by the Muslim Turks. Our good friends that refused to allow the American military access to the Northern part of Iraq and where recently a priest was murdered in a church by guess who? It is also the birthplace of the man that tried to murder the last Pope.
These are the same people we had to stop at the Siego of Vienna in 1529. Let's not forget the Battle of Tours in the 8th century. History does repeat itself. Oh yeah, and 9/11. And the mass murder bombings. And the beheadings. And. . .
Something about this press release strikes me. Not long ago, BinLaden and Zark made their announcement that "more attacks would come". Today, Bush hints about three foiled plots. I say that this is a message to the AlQueda types that "...and the US has just foiled another one". Maybe the AlQueda types were prepared to hear news about a major attack today, and instead got Bush talking about foiled attempts.
Sweet.
everyone should read this about the compassionate and merciful Allah of islam... it is also a call for the West to stand up to the inevitable confrontation with islam... very powerful

Brilliant observation!! I've been thinking also that the "Cartoon Riots" were a smokescreen to divert attention away from something else.

"We will never rest until this threat to American is removed."
- from the article above, quoting Bush
The threat is permanent. It cannot be removed, unless Islam were somehow to disappear, and it will not. Threats can, however, be greatly diminished. There are many ways to diminish them. The doctrinal duty of Jihad never disappeared; the wherewithall to carry out that duty for a long time did not exist. Trillions of dolars in oil revenue, tens of millions of Muslims living behind what they, the Muslims, regard as enemy lines, and the technological advances that help spread to those born into Islam the full message of Qur'an, Hadith, and Sira, are the three reasons that Jihad has now been revived, and gone far beyond the Lesser Jihad (against Israel) and the Middle-Sized Jihad (against all those lands that were formerly ruled by Islam) to become the Greater Jihad to spread Islam, and rule by Muslims, all over the world. It's a tall order. But many Muslims seem to believe in it quite firmly, and are prepared to use whatever instruments come to hand, and prove effective. And they are willing to wait.
When Bush says we must not rest "until this threat to America is removed" he shows that he fails to understand it cannot be removed; it cannot be excised completely.
It would be good if he helped, for the Democrats are not helping at all, to encourage a more realistic and sober, if also bleaker, view of things.
Much as I find many things to admire in Dubya the man, of late his approach to illegal immigration, alternative energy, fiscal spending and the RoP has disappointed me (and many. many more conservatives, I might add).
This press release, if true is a morale booster for all our troops and security agents who toil away, their successes never seeing the light of the day. But at the same time, as it stands now, such press releases are unverifiable. The Dems, should they get a moonbat president sworn in will be issuing such releases every other day just for the heck of it (whenever the polls dip bewlow 50% or something like that).
Please watch this remarkable video of three reformed
terrorists who are not afraid to say the truth.
If you want to understand the world you are living in, don't
listen to the New York Times. Listen to
these three men. It is startling, illuminating and a real
wake-up call. They were interviewed on American
television.

Proof that Galloway is now a Muslim
From the Sun second link of Werter's post. About twinning Bethnal Green (where my family are from) with Jenin
When asked how this would help his constituents, he said: "It will help their soul, it will help them on judgement day, that they did something noble."
They are not the words of a practising Catholic.
the pathetic and tragic irony is that as the West foils each major attack, it exposes itself to futher danger. Why?
The sad thing is that this equation is not how it must be, but is the result of a established view - of the PC mafia - that we must embark on a vague and dangerous multicultural experiment and there is not to be any dissent. This is why.
The cartoons rage shows, and I hope will show further that the West has a little bit of fabric remaining that has not been torn by the ravages of relativism.
Not related to this story, but I must vent.
President Bush is planning to veto several bills which have been introduced to limit or withhold financial aid to the Palestinian Authority.
So I emailed all of my congressmen. Senator Brownback (R-Kansas) replied to my email explaining that very little money goes directly to the PA., but goes to USAID, and UNRWA.
Emailed him back, telling him I am not a Kansas rube & am well aware that for years UNRWA has been tied to terrorists & terrorist organizations. (So quit sending them money!!)
Please mail your congressmen regarding aid to Palestine. And don't let them pull the wool over your eyes!
Thank you werter 5075 for that fantastic link!!!
I betcha that interview would never happen in our post Mo-cartoonfest world, now. That sucks because this is exactly what people need to see and see a lot.
To voletti,
I am the opposite of you. I did not vote either time, nor admire a lot about Bush, but I am appreciating his approach more and more. I see absolutely no action on the part of Democrats to combat the islamic scourge except possibly Leiberman. I wholeheartedly agree that Bush needs to step it up on illegal immigration, alternative energy, fiscal spending, and stop calling islam a religion, but maybe it'll come in baby steps. One can only hope. Who ever thought he'd say America was oil-addicted?
MikeMontana: I like the way you're thinking. Don't know if you are right, but I like the track. Bush and Team are always playing Chess, while everyone thinks they are simply playing Checkers.
One possibility here is that Bush is starting to move the debate about "terror" and "wiretapping" and "national defense" into an area where he can trap the Democrats. The mid-term congressional elections are coming up, and we are starting to see the opening salvos.
My second major complaint about Bush & Team (after the idiotic refusal to close the borders to wetbacks) is that they don't do a very good job of getting their message out.
For example, a former Iraqi general has recently revealed that Saddam's WMDs were taken out to Syria in two converted Boeing jets before the Gulf War II began. General Georges Sada claims there were 57 flights of these aircraft, one of which was a 747. This has not received much play yet.
Meanwhile, the Democrats, athiests, agnostics, secular humanists, and all their leftist Pinko fellow travelers have found the only religion that they like: Islam
And they have found a constitutional right that needs to be curtailed: Freedom of the Press
Can't the Press find out exactly how this attack was foiled so that the terrorists will know how to plan better in the future.
And can't they get a mole in the NSA to funnel top secret info about the methodology of our intercepts out to Bin Laden & Co., directly, rather than the slower method of NY Times articles?
The Fifth Column has got to learn to destroy our security better, faster and harder!
Even the Congressional Democrats are getting sloppy. They haven't told who any reporters who the people are that work under cover in Pakistan trying to catch poor unindicted Al-Qaeda members without proper warrents.
I want an investigation immediately!
And shouldn't Zarqawi get a free Berkeley Library card, now!?!
Just more proof for the Loony Liberal Left that Bush is a brutal fascist oppressor, denying terrorists their Allah-given right to kill us.
I work with many good people who everyday struggle under the constraints of political correctness, all the while remaining silent about their work , and still manage to make a difference.
Yes we are safer but not safe enough!
The violent Jihad is being thwarted everyday, but what about the Da'wa, which in my opinion is the more serious of the two threats.
Everyday more and more of them are waking up to the hidden threat of Da'wa.
God bless those that fight on behalf of all of us, unseen to the public.
