Which one represents the future of Europe? From "Islamic Groups Call for End to Riots," from AP, with thanks to Amerykanskie:
In France, President Jacques Chirac asked media to avoid offending religious beliefs as another French newspaper on Wednesday reprinted the prophet caricatures. Chirac said during a Cabinet meeting that he condemned "all obvious provocations likely to dangerously kindle passions."In Copenhagen, Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen showed no sign of diverting from his government's stance that it cannot apologize for the actions of an independent newspaper, as demanded by governments in several Muslim nations.
SOMETIMES I AM PROUD TO BE FRENCH !!!
Hello folks, a message from Paris: today after days of bad mood, I found my smile again !
The French satirical newspaper "Charlie Hebdo" has published all the caricatures today. His editor, Philippe Val (a hero of Resistance) calmy explained to the media that "the press is free in France and should not be intimidated by religious groups. It is important to claim it, and maybe President Chirac should have said it".
On the cover of "Charlie Hebdo" today: a big caricature showing an appalled Prophet saying "It is so irritating to be worshipped by morons !"
This morning at 9 am, when I went out to buy this historical issue of "Charlie Hebdo", it was already sold out ! The seller (who was Arab) winked and smiled at me. I went to several shops: same story. The police had to protect the press shops when the magazine was delivered this morning ...
They are going to re-publish it tomorrow: 320,000 new exemplaries !
In another thread (on Dhimmi Watch, the thread about the BBC not publishing the cartoons) I explained how Philippe Val confronted the Imam of Lyon (Lyon = a city in France) on television, calmy explaining to him that he does not give a damn about death threats ...and telling this angry Imam: "In fact, it is true that terrorists acted in the name of Islam. When they blew up the Twin Towers it was in the name of Islam wasn't it ?" A great moment of television.
In the meantime, our President, super dhimmi Jacques Chirac, has "condemned" the publication of the caricatures by Charlie Hebdo !! Chirac is really turning into a little Mussolini but be reassured, American readers: only 1 % of the French people want him to be a candidate for the 2007 Presidential elections... The French despise Jacques Chirac.
What a country... in which it is a little satirical magazine which has to re-affirm some principles as basic as laicity and freedom of speech. Whereas politicians stand for religious censorship...
Anyway folks I have a big smile today !
Oh folks recent news: the French goverment tried to prevent the publication of "Charlie Hebdo" (according to the radio "France Inter"). But they failed, obviously...
Vichy, Vichy...
According to the French radio "France Inter", yesterday night the French goverment warned the magistrates that they wished that Charlie Hebdo would not be published... the governmenet invoked "civil peace" and "fear of violent reactions from the French Muslims".
Justice denied the demand of the Goverment + Muslim associations and "Charlie Hedbo" has been published today, and totally sold out, and it will be re-published tomorrow.
As the radio journalists noted: "It is quite surprising that a Government tries to prevent a newspaper from being published".
Yes, it is quite surprising.
Globalization of information hasn't turned out to be the wonderful force Clinton touted as the end of economics and history during the 1990's, has it?
hello
omvi :Congratualtions to a real leader, Nicolas Sarkozy.
omvi are you kidding ?
sarkozy is a dhimmi shit !! he is the guy who create the councel for islam in France ! he is a muslim's cock sucker !
the only thing this idiot can do is bla bla bla
illegal immmigration? he didn't stop it
prostitution ? the whores are on internet now
islam ? he does create the Muslim councel and is THE man who do favor building mosques in France.
Sarkozy is an idiot dhimmi who thinks he can "steal " votes from National Front by having strong speeches. But French are not fools. Sarkozy is unable to act .All he "does" or not does are in full contradiction with his stupid says .
Piss on this idot dhimmi and vote for Le Pen in 2007
Best regards
Errrr Simon.... let me remind you that Le Pen condemned the publication of the caricatures whereas Sarkozy declared that freedom of speech is more important than respect towards religion.
It is unclear if Sarkozy will have the balls to tackle the issue of immigration when he becomes President in 2007. However, we can give him a chance.
Sarkozy is pro American whereas Le Pen is banally and sadly anti American, and a friend of Saddam Hussein. However, Le Pen has the courage to speak up what everything thinks inside and just for that, he is not totally bad.
Wolfgant Schaeuble, German Foreign Minister, has honourably taken the same line as Rasmussen. Italy's caricature of a government, inevitably, is split: Berlusconi speaks of avoiding the clash of civilization at all costs, and to speed up the admission of Turkey to the EU, while Fini, Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, denounces the Muslim extremists who fan the flames and calls the situation explosive. The opposition is similarly split. However, since both sides are competing for the Catholic vote (and the opposition shot itself in both feet by letting into the coalition some near-terrorists and genuine freaks), what the Church says is going to matter, and the Italian episcopate is taking a remarkably strong line, very thinly disguised by polite chit-chat about reconciliation and building bridges. Sooner or later Mr.Berlusconi will remember that he is supposed to be a conservative and drop the Politically Correct crap.
joie sauvage;
i can understand your point of view about Mr LE PEN , i am not a FN member myself and don't share whole Mr LE PEN programm especially about economy .
about Mr LE PEN , let say i am 55% pro and 45% con
At the beginning , i thought like you that Mr Sarkozy was THE RIGHT MAN before i realized that he is only a CHEATER and a bullshit LIAR
Lets take an example : prostitution .Mr Sarkozy said he will wipe prostitution hinting he will send whores back to their countries (romania, africa )
Now have a look on this :
http://www.missive.info/list/FR/8080/2
and tell me if all those Aids infected whores that you can't see anymore in streets have been sent back to Africa by Mr Sarkozy ?
With this liar it is the same on every item : immigration, security (do you know how many foreign-born muslim rioters were sent back on the more 200 arrested ? one, ONLY ONE !!!)
Mr Sarkozy doesn't deserve any chance at all in 2007 except if you want to be extremely desappointed like with Mr CHIRAC .
As a matter of fact ,REAL RIGHT WING doen't have the perfect man to implement a mixt of National-patriotism and liberalism programm.
Mr sarkozy is a liar ( un amuseur de foire ) and nothing else
Mr De villiers , is the puppet of Chirac since the latter refill his financial loss from lest presidential election.
Therefore, like it or not , Le PEN is the "choix par defaut" for there is absolutely nothing to expect anymore from UMP .
i do invite you to read one of my favorite History magazine : REVUE NOUVELLE d'HISTOIRE by Dominique VENNER .The last issue still in shop is : De la colonisation à l'immigration .it is a very interesting reading .
About FN, please keep in mind that Media tell amount of liars about FN and Le PEN .Knowing that most French media are infested by marxists , are you surprised ?
The best way to make your own opinion about Le Pen and FN ,is to read :
http://www.frontnational.com/accueil.php
and
http://www.veritesurlefn.org/modules/news/
then you can do like i do , weight the pro and con not through media bullshits but through direct information at source.
you said : Le Pen is anti_american : WRONG !
do you know that Mr LE PEN met Mr REAGAN ?
doubt it ? have a look on the photo
http://www.veritesurlefn.org/modules/xoopsgallery/view_photo.php?xoops_imageid=17&set_albumName=album02&id=r1
Do you know that his daughter ( i rather do favor Marine than his father ) was invited to attend a meeting of the Republican senators wifes ?
Mr LE PEN does not agree with Mr BUSH ADMINISTRATION policy about globalization,Irak and multiculturalism. Which is completely different !
Mr Le PEN was in opposition against WAR in IRAK because whatever nasty Saddam regime was , it was one of the only SECULAR regime in this aera and a rempart against fundamentalist IRAN
I can tell i am far to agree with him , but i invite you to get the information at source in order to make your proper opinion far from medias .
Best regards and bisous ( if you are a woman ..)
Here is the frontpage (upperside) of the French Charlie Hebdo of today

Mohamed snowed under by the integrists says: "It's hard to be loved by ass-holes"
Simon,
I accept your kiss as I am indeed a woman !
Thank you for those pieces of information.
As I am not an extremist, I find it very hard to vote for Mr Le Pen... but you made a point. Yes a lot of French people hesitate about Mr Le Pen as they have been so disappointed with the moderate Right parties.
"Therefore, like it or not , Le PEN is the "choix par defaut" for there is absolutely nothing to expect anymore from UMP"
Let us say I will give Mr Sarkozy (the UMP) a last chance...
What bothers me about the Front National is that there are some people inside who are not extremely nice (even if a lot of Le Pen's voters are OK people). I don't want to get involved with some weird neo nazis and racist people.
Contrary to you, I think that de Villiers could be a good compromise but he is not powerful enough, politically speaking. People who are behind Mr De Villiers are not extremists.
"all those Aids infected whores"....
> you mean those poor girls who are threatened and turned into slaves ?
"do you know how many foreign-born muslim rioters were sent back on the more 200 arrested ? one, ONLY ONE !!! "
TRUE !
"As a matter of fact ,REAL RIGHT WING doen't have the perfect man to implement a mixt of National-patriotism and liberalism programm".
It could be me... in a few years as I am too young now ! Just wait !
"About FN, please keep in mind that Media tell amount of liars about FN and Le PEN .Knowing that most French media are infested by marxists , are you surprised ?"
You are correct... the worst problem in France is the absence of clever and objective journalists. However, opinions towards Le Pen are slowly changing...
Maybe Le Pen is not anti american... OK let us admit it: Le Pen is an OK guy but the media have turned him into a little Satan.
BUT I don't like the idea that I could vote for a Party which has, inside it, some extremist morons... No !
If in 2007, we have a second round "Le Pen vs a Socialist" it will be VERY difficult to choose...
joiesauvage and simon:
LePen is an xenophobe, well remembered by people of my vintage as an anti-Semite. His daughter may not be, but I don't think Papa has really changed. Like a broken clock, he can be right twice a day, but only by coincidence.
Paolo: could Berlusconi and Fini simply be playing the "good cop/bad cop" game?
waterdragon52
"LePen is an xenophobe, well remembered by people of my vintage as an anti-Semite."
I only heard Le Pen talk once, it was years ago, on a public meeting. I remember no anti-semitic discourse ... but a lot of jokes against the communists and Lenin ! ...
In France, nobody knows what Mr Le Pen really thinks, as he is NEVER invited by the media. So I cannot say if he is antisemitic or not. Please provide me with some documents.
That is what is very difficult about Le Pen: nobody knows what he thinks ! If they let him speak, one could decide objectively... But I do not trust our media as they are biased and talk a lot of bullshit everyday.
Paolo writes:
"Sooner or later Mr.Berlusconi will remember that he is supposed to be a conservative and drop the Politically Correct crap."
I'll always remember the great line from Berlusconi:
"We should be conscious of the superiority of our
civilization, which consists of a value system
that has given people widespread prosperity ...
and guarantees respect for human rights and
religion. This respect certainly does not exist
in Islamic countries."
So blunt, so truthful. I had real hope, and then he
backpedalled in the face of the criticism.
From what I've read of the National Front, they
previously appeared (mildly) antisemitic, but the
current incarnation seems to have gone past that.
So I don't know that they're quite as bad on racial issues as the BNP of the UK.
France is in pretty tough shape on account of
decades of ridiculous immigration policies. It may
be that the only way to "save the patient" is by
extreme measures. When they're 30 or 40% of the population, it will be too late to avert civil war
or worse.
joiesauvage, why don't you check them out and tell us? Our UK posters have attended beer hall talks by BNP supporters, and they could give us their
measure. How about checking out the NF? Asking them
some questions and all that.
American... all I know is that when there are TV reports about them and how dangerous they are, one only sees nice smiling people holding babies in their arms and black and arab guys saying they are for Mr Le Pen... So....
Why don't I check out ? because after years of brainwashing and censorship and intellectual intimdation ("you dont say that the Front National is evil = you are a racist"), I have developped a psychological blockage. Stockholm syndrome ? I do not want to have anything to do with the Front National, even if my brain tells me I might be a little bit unfair...
and american, more importantly: on another post you bluntly asked me (or was it someone else ? I think it was you) if I would prefer to eat snails or a big american hamburger full of disgusting "barbecue" sauce.
My answer is: I'd prefer to starve !
the thing is, in France, many people agree with Mr le Pen without knowing they agree with him (just today, I was speaking with someone from Algeria and she was saying: "why do you let so many bad people enter your country, they are useless scums, why don't you only let good and polite and useful people enter ?")- so many people (if not everybody) agree with Mr Le Pen but Mr Le Pen = EVIL. What can I say ? It is called "moral comfort". People agree that one must stop immigration but they feel guilty... not easy to accept the idea that one must deny poor people the opportunity to live in France. It is a dirty thought, isn't it ?
joiesauvage,
Sorry to hear about the brainwashing. Better figure out what is up with Le Pen though, it's your country, right?
Nope, that wasn't me. Hamburgers, mmmm... But hold the BBQ sauce please. Rabbit food on top is OK.
I don't think that the idea of eating snails ever occurs to me, though now that you mention it, I get
it, French people eat snails (escargot). I'll pass,
thanks! But starve? Come now, I'd eat just about anything to stay alive. Not sure what this has to
do with Islam. If that's supposed to be an analogy
of Sarkozy and Le Pen, I think the steaks are higher
than your meal (misspelling intentional!).
the steaks are higher = bad cow pun !
starve... i meant, just for that evening !
but american, if you visit me in paris, i'll make dinner for you: snails, frog legs and foie gras ! ah ah ah !
no I will not spy on the Front National, as i am already a member of the UMP (Nicolas Sarkozy's party...) Sarkozy is the next President of France... jewish origins, and a family who fled communism... good start.
I am so glad to read the comments of French citizens here. I think Le Pen/NF has moderated just like Nick Griffin/BNP.
There is an article here about Le Pen from Haaretz.
Le pen ultimate
I don't know if you are aware of it, but I placed Andre Servier's 1913 book Islam and the Psychology of the Musulman online. It is in English and I can send you a word doc of it. Just email me at johnsobieski@Hotmail.com.
I wanted to put the French version of it online, but the only 2 copies I got were either so old and brittle that they were literally disintegrating as I tried to scan them or the text font was so poor and misaligned that it scanned so poorly that I just gave up. Sorry about that, but I do have the English version available. I am sure a French copy is available in your universities, unless the Muslims have already stolen all of them to destroy.
Musulmanbook
You all call Sarkozy a Dhimmi, but he is not. In fact, he is fully aware of the Moslem threat. They are working on the problem as best they can. Some of you sound as though if the French are not shooting Moslems on the streets, they are dhimmis. Listen carefully in BETWEEN the lines to what Chirac and Sarkozy have said. Look at Chirac's statement of nuclear weapon usage - he gets it. Pay no attention to Chirac's criticism of the cartoons, it is no different than Bush's. It is a political ploy.
As for Le Pen, he is a NAZI, Arab sympathizer like our own David Duke. Do not vote for such a man.
AS for the BNP, I commend them for criticizing Moslems, but that is their only saving grace. They are anti-trade, protectionist imbeciles. They are also a racist and homophobic lot. Perhaps Britain’s immigration laws need to be considerably tightened, fine. But if it quacks like a duck, it's a ...
Don’t vote for such extremist ducks and set Western Civilization back to the 30s.
Since we are on this subject, how does the Danish People's Party compare to these other groups? I'm already a fan of Pia Kjaersgaard, who wrote in a newsletter this week: “The seeds of weeds have come to Denmark — Islamists and liars — who have fuelled the lethal fire through their tour of the Middle East. We will deal with them.”
Not that Denmark's mainstream leaders are bad. Rikke Hvilshoj, the Integration Minister, said: “I think we have a clear picture today that it’s not the imams we should be placing our trust in if we want integration in Denmark to work.”
American and Waterdragon, the problem is that while Fini is an intelligent man and politician (not something you will often hear me say of an ex-Fascist), Berlusconi is hardly a person at all. He has as much consistency as a pile of whipped cream, and his sole consistent trait is the need to be admired and praised all the time, everywhere, by everyone. In spite of some good ministers (Pisanu at Interior, Fini, Alemanno at Agriculture), his government has been an unmitigated disaster. When I visited Rome over Christmas, I could not believe my eyes. In the city centre, the world-famous shopping-streets - Via Condotti, Via Barberini, Via Vittorio Veneto - looked like the country had just lost a war: a good third of all the shops were closed and dusty, evidently unused and unrented for months. I had to get away because the sight was so depressing. I am old enough to remember the seventies, with daily terrorist outrages and 25% inflation, and I can tell you that things are worse now. And this while Germany, in spite of all its problems, leads the world in exports - so you cannot say that the problems of Italy reflect those of Europe at large. The trouble is that the opposition are just as bad: any group that includes Bertinotti's Communists, Pecoraro Scanio's Greens and Bonino's Radicals is unfit to govern a whelk-stall. God help Italy, because she is already beyond human help.
As far as the Muslim problem goes, however, both party groupings will be increasingly led by the need to court the Catholic vote. The Italian episcopate, as I said, is taking an increasingly firm and intransigent line, and Rutelli and Fini's statements clearly reflect that. (Fini is no friend of the Church, but he has taken a hammering over the referendums last year and learned a little lesson about opposing it.) It may be that once again, as in April 18, 1948, the Church will be the entity that, one way or another, saves Italian freedom.
