ISLAMABAD: Former US president Bill Clinton on Friday condemned the publication of Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) caricatures by European newspapers and urged countries concerned to convict the publishers.Talking to reporters after meeting Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz in Islamabad, Clinton said he disagreed with the caricatures and that the publication was against religious and ethical norms. Clinton said he had no objection to peaceful demonstrations being held worldwide, but this was not the time for violence. He said it was the time to promote inter-faith harmony and stand together on the issue.
He said the people’s religious convictions should be respected at all costs and the media should be disallowed to play with the religious sentiments of other faiths. He said the media could criticise any issue including governments and people, but nobody had the right to play with the sentiments of other faiths.
Clinton said people in the US had also condemned the publication and were deeply concerned over it. He said they respected Islam, as it was the fastest growing religion in the US.

I am also having a hard time believing that Clinton would have said those things, after all; did he not teach Constitutional law at one time? This must be wishful thinking by the Pakistani press. Even Clinton, careless, reckless, apparently always rescued in time from all of this, and from his years of misrule (a different kind of misrule from Carter, the worst President, or from Bush, with his stubborn refusal, or inability, to fully comprehend Islam and to abandon his messianic quest to "spread democracy" for no possible gain, or at least no gain that he has been able to coherently and convincingly express). I agree with you, Morgane. The Muslims always inflate their numbers. In the US, they claim about 7 million now, although surveys have shown the number to be less than 2 million. It may be even less than that, since they do things like claim all US/Arabs as Muslims, when, in fact, most US/Arabs are Christians. In addition, since torture and death await those who dare leave the religion of peace, the number of Muslims who stay in the religion officially and continue lip service to it to save their own lives must be in the millions and millions. I have a quick and easy way to find out of Mr. Clinton really said such a outrageous statement. Ask his wife, the senator from New York, to confirm or deny her husband's statement. And, then, ask her if she agrees that editors and publishers should be punished. If he did say it and she agrees with him, then I would say that her 2008 campaign would become very interesting and very quickly.

The truth is that the Christian faith is by far the fastest growing faith in the world. It is not only because of what you have posted as far as both China and Russia is concerned, but also in the third world it is booming. Africa is the fastest growing continent with new Christian believers. Also Asia and Latin America is showing a lot of growth. It is because of the prayers, missionary efforts, and finianical help coming from the churches that it is possible. The only reason why it is said that the Muslim faith is growing is because of the number of babies born, but other then for that, the Christian faith leads.
