Do you actually know anything about African-Americans and Islam? Most African-American Muslims are members of The Nation of Islam an African-American separtist group that practices it's own brand of "Islam". Populations were declining rapidly in the more advanced civilizations and as a result there economies and social structures fell apart.

Today we see a huge demographic crises not seen since the fall of rome. People are totally underestimating this. I believe this is the main reason we will have a new dark age. In the last two dark ages. The world was lucky. The barbarians invaders were willing to adopt the culute of the fallen civilizations. The dorians adopted greek culture. The only thing you wrote that I would contest is the following:

The rise of China has been spectacular by any historical standard. It has been accomplished primarily by 1) the use of authoritarian precepts and methods to keep society effectively organized; 2) the opening of China to massive foreign investment; 3) the use of duplicitous business practices and state-imposed import restrictions to skew the playing field.

China produces 600,000 engineering graduates a year while the USA produces 70,000 (of whom almost 40,000 are foreigners, many of them Chinese).

The writing is on the wall.

Thanks for the comments cornelius. I actually like Chinese and Indian culture. I should elaborate on my comments. India and China are doing remarkable things. Its just now they are working hard to get to American standards. I just dont see their rise as revolutionary much like the renaissance. You could even argue that Rome made little contribution to the Greek world. A powerful state was formed and people prospered but there was nothing added to thought or science. Hopefully China will democratize and they will be able to take their growth to a new level. But my opinion now is it is too early too tell.

I think many of our contributors here are well aware of (and have commented frequently on) the subversion of our Western culture and ideals by the Left.

Meanwhile, I was flipping through the channels the other day and it dawned on me that practically every Hollywood offering over the last 30 years is politically correct bullshit with good and evil universally delineated between the enlightened (minorities, progressives, environmentalists, etc) and the malevolant (soul-less CIA heavies, corrupt law enforcement, greedy corporate bigwigs, etc).

Combine this "ethos" in Hollywood with that perpetuated by the media and academe and it should come as no surprise that we are a self-loathing society in search of redemption...of a completely new identity. Hence, everything distinguishable from the West, however barbaric, is preferable.

Something to consider is that the extent of cultural Marxism combined with Muslim rioting may just lead to a rightist backlash across Europe. As politically correct liberal governments are discredited by caving in to the Muslim minority's demands, the average European will retreat into his own heritage and traditions.

Politically, this will translate into more votes for politicians willing to give them a voice. I expect that Right-wing and anti-Dhimmi parties may do quite well in the next few European elections.

As for China, there may be more extreme "solutions" there. Because of heir government's recently abandoned one child policy, there are nearly 100 million more males than females in China. In the next few years, these males will be desperately seeking wives. One possibilty that many Chinese men only half-jokingly propose, is that China invade Muslim countries like Pakistan, Afghanistan, or Indonesia, kill off the Muslim men and liberate millions of oppressed Muslim women, whom they could then marry. If this joke ever became policy, it might be immoral and genocidal, but it would definiely be a solution to China's impending demographic crisis.

There is a tiny hope. At www.france-echos.com there is a story of a doctor being beat by the husband of a women giving birth. This doctor walked into the delivery room that was not sharia compliant (females only except the father). If I translate it right. Also a story of a teacher being beat up. This is happening all over apparently. If the doctors and the teachers and now the newspaper editors are becoming as aware as the lowly man on the street maybe the upper government will feel the pressure.

About 15 or 20 years ago I recall reading part of a memoir by Mircea Eliade, perhaps the greatest 20th century historian of religions -- Eliade was a Rumanian exiled or self-exiled from the communist horror chamber of his native country -- Rumania was particularly totalitarian, as communist countries go -- and he came to teach at the University of Chicago, I think. As I recall, in the memoir at one point he started describing in a melancholy way how he expected non-European peoples, with no sympathy for European culture and its freedom, to take over Europe, leaving all that had been so great in the long story of Europe's civilization less than a memory -- a memory wiped out, lost. When I read that 20 years ago, I had no idea what he was talking about -- I don't think he mentioned Islam in the passage. But I guess Islam was what he meant, because he knew Europe, and surely knew how many Muslims were coming to Europe from North African nations and elsewhere. Now I've become very curious to see what Eliade wrote about Islam.

If Europe hand't gleefully annihilated its own Christian population through secularization, we wouldn't be having this problem. A lively Christian church would convert lots of muslims and conservative Christians tend to have larger families. The need for labor simply wouldn't exist. Secularism as the spoiled child of Christianity suffers from shoot self in foot disease.

Given that Muslims can't eat pork and that the middle east isn't exactly the best place to raise cattle, the bird flu might be the salvation of the west.

Europe is finished. chevalier de st george you are right about the debt ridden Europeans being ripe for dhimmitude. In fact most Anatolian Turks are of Greek or other Anatolian Christian origin. How the Turks originally got a foothold in the region was during the Battle of Manzikert in 1071 local troops from the region betrayed the East roman empire as the turks were about to be defeated. People in the region openly accepted dhimmitude at first as the taxes they paid were so high that the dhimmi tax seemed like a bargain. But of course once the flood gates were open every rag head made his way into the new promised land and flooded it with the scum that lives there now.

What we ie Western society as a whole, have yet to recognise is that the tenets of islam and free society cannot live side by side. Unable to carry out Jihad in any meaningful way on Infidels, and as military invasion of the West by muslim nations is inconceivable, islam will collapse. Even if it did not, then it will be so militarily weak that it will pose no threat as long as they do not have nukes.
