The European Union backed Denmark yesterday in the row over cartoons, but leaders of its legislature differed over the limits of free speech.Political leaders from all groups rallied behind Copenhagen in a special debate in the European Parliament, declaring that an attack on Denmark was an attack on all member states and condemning the resort to violence by some protesters. However, libertarians warned against any attempt to make the media adopt self-censorship.
"I want here today to send my solidarity to the people of Denmark," European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso said, calling Danes "a people who rightly enjoy the reputation as being amongst the most open and tolerant not just in Europe but in the world"....
European Commission chief Jose Manuel Barroso yesterday condemned violence against Danish and EU diplomatic missions and urged dialogue to cool tensions.
"The [European] Commission condemns, in the strongest possible terms, the violence perpetrated against our office in Gaza, and against the missions of the member states, in particular those of Denmark," he told EU lawmakers.

Suzan Fields just wrote an anti-dhimmi piece in today's Washington Times that uses the same trenchant quotes by Tocqueville that I used in an online essay some years ago. Thank God I'm not alone is seeing this. Behold:

The West now needs a popular (non-children's) book about the Muslim "prophet".
Something short, Hadith-ically accurate, pithy and with a catchy title, like:
"MOHAMMAD- HIS TRUE FACE"
(And use a non-veiled Mohammad cover image lifted from a medieval Persian Mulsim miniature as an ironic commentary on the "iconclastic" nonsense that Islam spouts in defense of their hysterical over-reaction worldwide concerning the Cartoon Jihad controversy.)
The "iconoclasm" debate with Islam would need to be discussed, since some Muslims still use Mo's picture "respectfully" -or "triumphalistically" -which, to my mind, tends more toward the slippery slope "idolatry" they supposedly worry about, than the truly iconoclastic Danish caricatures... images that no one would ever be tempted to "worship".
Let's expose the pedophile prophet in all his sorry glory.
And answer some basic questions that are floating around as mysteries to the majority of the Western public.
Was he a warlord?
Was he a child sexual abuser?
Did he order the assasination of a woman poet who wrote satirical verses about him?
Did he approve of deceit to win over new converts through miliatry conquest?
Did he say that anyone who left his "religion"
should be killed?
Did he consider a woman to be only worth half of a man?
And, for the scientifically inclined:
Are the stars actually missiles used to hit devils with?
The truth will sanitize this cult of its pretensions.
