French Daily Publishes Prophet Mohammed's Cartoons

Blasphemy is breaking out all over. Boycott France! Boycott Denmark! Boycott Norway! From zaman.com, with thanks to Elliot:

The caricatures portraying Prophet Mohammed published in the Danish press receiving widespread reaction from the Islamic World have also published in the French daily newspaper, France Soir.

The statement released by France Soir reads they published the cartoons as a provocation.

The caricatures may seem to be unimportant, insulting or they may even seem to have an important meaning, but their publication has tested the boundaries of freedom of speech in Denmark and angered the Muslim World, the France Soir statement further reads.

The same statement backed not to existence of any expressions against any racist intention and any society. “No, we will never apologize as we are sorry while we are talking and thinking. We will never apologize for being free to speak and think,” while reminding that it does not support expressions of hatred and racism.

OMG!!
THis is outrageous! Boycott France! Send back all the baguettes from the cargo ships! Throw away all the French perfumes from Saudi and Dubai and Kuwait city.

Sarcasm aside....Friends, Romans, countrymen...the time has come...Denmark has started the war...May all the European nations rise from their defeatist slumber and shake off the yoke!!

Im out to enjoy some Hennessy Cognac! TOAST TO ALL FREEDOM LOVERS!

Tushar

It's nice to see that this idea is now spreading. Fjordman was perhaps the first one outside Denmark to give significant coverage of this case, which was later picked up by Jihad Watch, the Brussels Journal and LittleGreenFootballs before the non-Danish media discovered it.

Although the authorities in my own country, Norway, have acted like cowards in this case, there are others who don't. Norway's largest independent weblog by far has also reprinted the cartoons:

http://www.document.no/weblogg/archives/008776.html

I hope that this is true. I looked for a copy of France Soir this morning at the newsstands but couldn't see it. (Probably because its an evening paper :) )

There is nothing on the France Soir website about this either.

The most active French anti-jihad blog 'France Echos' has had to close for an indeterminate length of time because of a Denial of Service attack.

The webamaster has indicated that he may not reopen the site because of threats he has received.

I need to have my eyes checked. I'm reading that the French(?) have printed the Danish cartoons on the front page of a paper. WOW!

Ive begun digging my fallout shelter and stocking up on food, as surely this is a sign of the apocalypse.

French citizens doing something that isnt self-serving, showing solidarity with another country, standing up to the muslims? What in the hayhoo is going on here?

If this becomes a national movement of any strength, I may just have to buy a bottle of French wine. I recommend Le Bicyclette.

He he.

Don't forget!!! The Germans and the Icelandians have also published the caricatures. A short while ago, Jyllands-Posten reported that Finland has also published them as well as a single caricature(The virgin one) being published in far off MEXICO!

Excellent. This will open many eyes throughout Europe.

The response of the Danish people has been admirable, but what else could we expect? We are all Europeans and we love our freedom. And - surprise! surprise! - many of us are ready to fight to defend it.

Most of you will surely relate to what I am about to say: three years ago, most of us would be labeled "intolerant" for not tolerating Islamic imperialism. Now, many of those so keen in labeling us are the first to voice out their criticism of Islamic backwardedness.

Glad to see that French are showing some backbone. However, get ready for bombings and car torchings as French "youths" will definitely be disturbed by this thumbing the nose at Islam.

We'll see what happens and how brave those french are.

LET FREEDOM RING! No more tyranny of political correctness let this be the 'toon heard around the world.
Tonight I'll drink a toast to the French (with french wine) and eat a Danish!

Tushar Saxena it al:

I'm not sure why the vintners of France should benefit from France Soir's act of journalistic bravery. Better drink wines produced in countries fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq and subscribing to FS and any other publication that is prepared to stand up to the insane intimidation of these emotionally immature bullies.

From IslamInfo's comment - one of the links you provided also lead to a multi-lingual Support Denmark site.

Now I'd like to see which brave American, Australian, Canadian or UK paper will follow suit.

If Mo' were alive today he'd be on some kind of child-sex offender register, being hounded from suburb to suburb by angry parents protesting.

"NOT IN OR SUBURB YOU PERV!!!!"

just wondering - this paedophile angle - whats the muslim "justification" for it?

or is a misinterpretation of the Arabic?

just thinking out loud here. any links appreciated.

To deal with the Islamists, we need public opinion on our side. The reaction to the cartoons has been educational. Let's expose more. Let's have more of these "tests." This is merely the beginning. We need to follow up these cartoons in the mainstream media with more detailed, unapologetic, honest assessment of Islamic ideology.

Hello all,

Someone said "Although the authorities in my own country, Norway, have acted like cowards in this case, there are others who don't".

I guess the place to really do this is in the US...have any of the papers out there printed it .....or has subtle US administration pressure been successful?

From the muslim aspect...he must ask himself some searchnig questions?

Why is the message like it is...are they simply poking fun or is there more than this to portray?

Also importantly...what should the muslim response worldwide be?

I hope that there is no violence as this simply reinforces the message of the cartoons. At the very least the common peace loving muslim/wuslim must rise above this, because we are the people manupulated by both sides.

The Infidel..says freedom of speech (& we get laughed at), the fundamentalist says "Jihad for this insult" (and they try to recruit us...and this may make it somewhat easier)...either way we are the sandwich in the middle.

So I am telling all the muslims and muslimas reading this ....

Inspite of it all, the muslim must learn to laugh at himself....it will be impossible to stop this sort of cariciture now that it has started.

"These character building measures for the muslim are essential if his/her hopes for peaceful global domination are to be realised by 2025".

Nothing much has changed...except that your strength of character....you ability to laugh at yourselves...together with the infidel...is to be tested to the limit....stick with it and grow in stature in the eyes of the infidel...NO VIOLENCE.

bomb alert at danish embassy in damascus - turned out to be a hoax, but the embassy had to be evacuated:

http://www.upi.com/InternationalIntelligence/view.php?StoryID=20060201-081940-3747r

Naseem,

"These character building measures for the muslim are essential if his/her hopes for peaceful global domination are to be realised by 2025".

Very funny. Actually, the demographic trend would not lead to Muslim global domination even by the end of this century. Muslims would be a majority in Europe, but that's assuming present trends continue. They may, they may not. But globally, Christianity is growing faster, people are leaving Islam in droves, and Zoroastrianism is actually a faster-growing religion than Islam!

But will a "Muslim" in 2125 be a Muslim by today's (admittedly broad) definition? If Muslims by 2125 can laugh at a cartoon of Mohammad, and reject obligatory jihad, and respect equal rights for women, and mix freely and make friends with the non-Muslims, and have no imperialistic interests, and no longer take the Koran seriously or literally...at what point is it no longer appropriate to call them Muslims?

"Mocking people's deeply held religious beliefs and sentiments is no media freedom. It's sheer and unpardonable callousness."

"What we need is genuine remorse and action by the Denmark government. And it must come soon."

And The New Duranty Times? And The Bandar Beacon? And what about My Weekly Standard? Or for that matter that well-known magazine supposedly stoutly "liberal" and "pro-Israel" (whatever that means), whose editors are apparently deeply-convinced that they, and their readers, are so steadfastly "uncorruptible" that there is no problem with the magazine taking sums from the Saudi government to pay for tmulti-page advertisements for a phony "dialogue" or "discussion" on some carefully-chosen issue of the day, with carefully-chosen partiicipants, where the Saudi view, however sfumato, is presented, manages to get through, seeps in, and has its effect. This willingness to accept these subtle but clear advertisements for Saudi Arabia is explained away, is justified, because you see, "it can't possibly change our views." And its readers -- not a chance that any of them will succumb to at least a bar or two of whatever clever siren-song the Saudis are humming under the main theme? Is there no duty to them?

Let's see all of those American magazines and newspapers just named, and others as well, fittingly print both the real cartoons that appeared in Jyllens-Posten, and the Muslim forgeries that proved so useful in whipping up Muslim hysteria. Or are American journalists more fearful, less interested in defending freedom of speech, than the Danes, the Dutch, the Czechs, the Hungarians, the Germans, the Spanish, the Italians, the French, and even the Norwegians?

Show us you are not. A little Elmer Davis or Edward R, Murrow (much in the Hollywood-fashion news these days) in the Night.

And while we are at it, let's hope at the Oscars all those Brave Defenders of Freedom will speak out about attempts all over the world to employ economic boycotts, severing of diplomatic relations, and even death threats to Danes, the right of a newspaper in tolerant easygoing Denmark, a Western country, with Western standards of free speech.

I have an idea. George Clooney should do it, if he wins for "Good Night and Good Luck." And even if he doesn't, if he has a chance, he should speak up about this, lest some assume, from his movie Syriana, that he really thinks the whole matter of the distemper around the world comes from that stock character, the Greedy American Corporation, and from nothing else.

Here's an offer. I'd be willing to write those words for you, George. Invite me to the villa in Laglio -- the one you bought from Heinz Kerry, another person of the people just like you. And we'll go over the speech, and the allusion to the Danish cartoons, and in our free time we will walk along the Lago di Como, and talk about Islam, and the Unversal Declaration of the Rights of Man, and things like that. And my rates are most reasonable.

Will any newspapers in the anglo-sphere dare print these cartoons? I can't see it happening, wouldn't want to upset any more Muslims. Not after the London bombings. Might start a jihad. Ho-hum.

archduke,

Re Mohammad pedophile issue. The Hadiths are most clear that Ayesha was about 6 or 7 years of age at the time Mohammad married her and she was 9 at the age Mohammad "consummated" the marriage. This issue has been debated, but the evidence favours the "pedophile" story. Ali Sina discusses it here:

http://www.faithfreedom.org/Articles/sina/ayesha_age.htm

The companion Omar is reported to have married a girl when she was 4 years old.

There was also the practice of marrying female orphans. (This is mentioned in the Koran). Many of these children became orphans as the result of their parents being killed in jihads; i.e., they were non-Muslim captives.

The Left..
They want freedom of speech.
They want freedom of expression.
they want freedom of music.
They want freedom to do what they want to do..

No matter how vile and perverted they want the freedom to do whatever they want...

They also want freedom from racism and hatred.

Since Islam is full of both...
Since Islam cant stand to have individual freedom
They two opposing views will have to collide.

But where Christians yawn and Catholics may protest at the so called liberal art..

The Muslims will
Kill you and anyone who offends their precious false prophet..

I hope the leftists realize that while their stand may be morally correct...

It wont be christians or catholics with a rusty
Knife at the editors throat...

I hope there prepared with lots of body bags..

Wow! Even CNN is reporting this one:

http://edition.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/europe/02/01/france.cartoon.ap/index.html

France has printed the cartoons, so has Germany. Maybe no papers will do so here, but Europe seems to have noticed that something isn't right. I absolutely love this quote, from 'Welt' :

"...a right to blasphemy" was anchored in democratic freedoms. "

After I read that, I almost wondered if I'd inadvertanly put something a bit stronger than cream in my coffee.

Think about the irony of the situation.

Muslims are portraying themselves in a most negative light. Because of their foolish behavior, the laughter is spreading worldwide.

None of this would have happened if the Muslims of Norway had dealt with the cartoon issue like rational adults.

Truly, as you sow, so shall you reap.

Archimedes-> so that's the dirty underside of Islam that muslims want to cover up - ergo it leads to feelings of shame and pent up anger, that is liable to explode at any moment?

Wow! Outstanding!

It's good to see people in France and other European countries standing up for freedom. Hopefully, some paper here in the US will display the kind of courage we're starting to see from Europeans.

There's hope yet. Let's support all the brave Europeans with the courage to stand up for liberty and democracy. Let's let 'em know we stand with them.

Archimedes wrote:

"But globally, Christianity is growing faster, people are leaving Islam in droves, and Zoroastrianism is actually a faster-growing religion than Islam!"

Really? I keep hearing how the RoP is the world's fastest-growing. From disinterested observers of course. Can you furnish me with evidence to the contrary?

Cheers.

One reason why the anglosphere press shies away is legal implications. Anyone know if lawsuits can be brought on any US newspaper printing these cartoons?

Also, economic magic may work againin that newspapers losing circulation or in otherwise econodistress can look fwd to creating unsafe controversy and boosting circulation. I believe this definitely played a part in the France Soir decison.

Proud Infidel says "Let's support all the brave Europeans with the courage... , Let's let 'em know we stand with them"

You forgot to add "eh ...from a distance".

In actual fact I think this is like a backlash from the infidel to the excesses that muslims have been portraying in the Europe for sometime now.

I think it maybe highly effective....dependent on how the muslim reacts. If there are bombs/deaths, then either all cartoons will be withdrawn or (probably more likely) additional ones will come on board.

Either way, the muslims has to take on the chin what it is has been dishing out guided by the extremist elements.

What we may see here (particularly if the cartoons don't stop) is actually moderates coming into the frame ...and putting forward a different consulatory message to diffuse the situation...which could start to spiral out of control...other religions could start to be dragged in too ...which would be a shame.

Whether people will start to leave (or join) Islam will be interesting too.

I stand by my statement that the muslim needs to show ice cool heads and a generous strength of character, Allah give the moderate strength to salvage what ever pride our prophet has left.

al jazeera has picked up on the french and german republication of the pictures:
http://english.aljazeera.net/NR/exeres/90F10D46-A67C-47C6-B340-1A95D5921BB8.htm

and now the malaysian muslims have joined in:

http://www.forbes.com/home/feeds/afx/2006/02/01/afx2490632.html

naseem - speaking as a non-muslim european, i am very worried about all of this.
europe is a tinderbox right now, especially in light of the french riots. the backlash against Muslims could be ferocious - so , you are right - its about bloody time that cooler heads prevailed in Islam.

archduke ...no work today?

Exclusive from Denmark: The editor of the newspaper that started this fracas has been publicly flogged. The flogging was done with extremely wet noodles and the editor was made to bare his buttocks for this humiliating beating. Someone noticed the editor had a tattoo on his left buttock and it was later revealed to be a portrait of Mohammed eating a hot dog and wearing an Arkansas razorback hoggie cap.

Kathleen Parker has a good take on the cartoon controversy.

If there is anyone from France reading this site, you are probably aware that France Echos is down.

For those who are not familiar with this site. It remains one of the foremost Francophone antijihadi blogs.

It seems that that for the time being they are well an truly down. A combination of events, the most serious of which are death threats including some published in a Saudi newspaper.

http://www.occidentalis.com/article.php?sid=2862&thold=0

They are taking the opportunity to find a new strategy.

Since this site went up a couple of years ago, life has become far more dangerous for people who run blogs and when they started, made little attempt to disguise their identities.

There is something positive in all of this. If the site was no threat, this would never have come to a head. It shows that people really seem to waking up.

The government is in panic mode and has shown this by preventing Pork soup kitchens and arresting anti jihadist satirical webmasters.

I went to visit the Basilique of St Denis last Saturday and many in the group were wearing Blue Scarves.

Meanwhile, a major French Hypermarket chain, Carrefour, is now removing danish products from its shelves throughout the middle east.

Anti jihadists regularly put pork in the Halal section of this foodstore. My guess is that this is likely not to stop.

Think about this...beheadings and burning our people didn't accomplish what a political cartoon did. This may awaken the masses.

Naseem-

Sometimes you are a Muslim triumphalist proclaiming the global domination of the cult and at others you prattle about 'cool heads' prevailing among your co-'religionists'.

Best of luck with the latter.

(Although the only cool heads they seem to appreciate are those like Daniel Pearl's and Nick Berg's, inertly assuming room temperature after Islamically-assisted and Koranically-inspired [i.e.- "strike at their necks!"] detachment.)

The 'Reform Movement' within Islam seems about as potent a a drop of coffee in the Pacific Ocean.

You can't have a stable intellect built on the foundation of a pedophile warlord's lies. Or the ongoing disinformational denial of it. ("But those Suras and Hadiths don't apply, literally!"... )

There are plenty of faiths that don't threaten to kill you if you want to leave them.

Why you would want to remain in one that does rest on this 'sacred' death threat-at-its-core is one of those mysteries that can only be explained by one of three things:

A) the 'believer' has never read the Koran or Hadiths seriously; -or:

B) sheer opportunism within a dominant community; -or:

C) cowardice.

(Not wanting to be a modern Moslem Jan Hus or Giordano Bruno.)

Which is it?

"Think about this...beheadings and burning our people didn't accomplish what a political cartoon did. This may awaken the masses."

in the face of brutal violence , its entirely natural for people to turn away, to be blinkered, to not want to get upset.

so, the cartoon thing is something else - it points out in no uncertain terms that we're dealing with a bunch of lunatics with a very intolerant view of western society.

and worse , theres millions of them living off welfare payments in europe itself.

So much irony: Muslims' reaction to this controversy not only reinforces the stereotype of Islamic fanaticism and intolerance, it has also ensured a vastly wider audience for the cartoons than the narrow readership of the newspaper that originally published them.

Now, excuse my shameless self-promotion, but I'm a liberal and this is what I have to say:

http://penkillpapers.typepad.com/penkill/2006/02/no_laughing_mat.html

My goal is to wake more liberals up to the encroaching realities of dhimmitude.

VIVE LA FRANCE!
I can finally eat French Fries and drink Champagne again.

Laughter as a WMD, who'd a thunk it?

JanuaryMan,
My link at
http://www.tmsfeatures.com/tmsfeatures/subcategory.jsp?custid=67&catid=1046

goes into Clinton's statement, this is good news because I emailed this journalist about her defense of islam not long ago. By the tone of this article it appears that she did read the qur'an and hadith that I (and probably many others)linked to.

treehugger writes:
"Laughter as a WMD, who'd a thunk it?"

Well, I hate to toot my own fluegelhorn, but when
this whole thing started a few months ago I wrote
that ridicule is like an A bomb against these
mohammadans. And I am sure I'm not the first to have noticed that.

Let's use that free speech wisely. Tell people
what this phony cult and it's pedophile prophet
are really about!

Anne, nice to see your raising the issues in a very intelligent way. Good luck.

Carolyn2,
Saw your link. Excellent article. Thanks.

To show my support, I immediately went out and picked up a Danish pecan coffee ring at Publix and then stopped by McDonalds for a large French fries--
Oh, it's good to be a liberal activist!!

the malaysian statement above is a crackup:

"Denmark has to send through their embassy a formal apology letter to the Muslim community in Malaysia ... it is necessary for them to apologise to every Muslim country in the world."

I hope the collective microencephalic muslim mind
simmers and seeths over these cartoons 'till
it is cooked like a hard boiled egg.

Its time the UK & US papers follow suit and publish the Mohomed cartoons in solidarity with little Denmark. France, Germany, Italy, Spain have all have published them so why not all the other countries.

Wow! Who'd have thought the French would finally get a spine. Maybe we should sponsor some sort of film remix with Jerry Lewis portraying Mohammad. That would go over big.

American
You're right. Ali Sina believes ridicule and humilliation are the best weapons in the war with Jihad.

http://www.faithfreedom.org/oped/sina50529.htm

Or, like my folks used to say, castigat ridendo...morons.

Come on US, UK, Australia, Russia, China, Thailand, Israel and India. Start publishing these cartoons - NOW.

A not so PC cartoon.......created in Hollywood:

Popeye the Sailor Meets Ali Baba's Forty Thieves (1937)

Plot

Ali Baba does not appear in this film, but his band of Forty Theives do, led by Abu Hassan (modeled after Bluto). They wreck and plunder an Arabic town until Popeye, Olive Oyl, and J. Wellington Wimpy hear of Hassan's exploits and fly there to capture him. After getting lost in the desert, the group happen upon the town and soon run-in with the Forty Theives.

The Thieves abduct Olive and Wimpy, and Abu Hassan leaves Popeye hanging from a chandelier after failing to win a battle of wits with him (during which, demonstrating a magic trick, Popeye relieves Hassan of his long underwear, remarking "Abu Hasn't got 'em any more!"). Popeye manages to break free, and takes a camel to Ali Baba's secret cave, where, failing to remember the magic word of "open sesame!", he breaks in using his pipe as a torch.

Inside of the cave (giving the Fleischer a chance to show off their Tabletop 3D background process), Popeye sneaks past the guards and attempts to free Olive and Wimpy and give the Forty Thieves' stolen jewels back to the people. He is apprehended and thrown into an shark pit. Just before being eaten by a shark, Popeye produces his spinach, opening it by commanding the can "open sez me!"

Now superpowered, Popeye defeates the shark, Abu Hassan, and all forty of the Thieves (counting them as he does so). The Thieves and Hassan are chained and made to drag a cart filled with the stolen jewels, Popeye, Olive, and Wimpy, back to town, where the townspeople await them with open arms. Popeye turns to Olive and sings, as the film irises out, "I may be a shorty/but I licked The Forty/I'm Popeye the Sailor man!/*toot toot*".

"Peaceful" and "global domination" do not go together. Truly, irony is something you don't seem to be able to grasp.

Very encouraging these news

Islam goes where Communism went.

Find yourself a religion that includes spiritual enlightenment, Nasseem. Islam doesn't have it. Mo didn't have it and Al'Ilha, the blood-god, doesn't care: He wants death and destruction.

Most religions do offer spiritual enlightenment, Islam offers orgies with 'virgins' instead (never forget the 24 boys!) and that's no good to you.

Or do you get off by watching your hubby?

Great news; now its time that the US, UK & Russian papers publish the cartoons.

Great news; now its time that the US, UK & Russian papers publish the cartoons.

French back bone is a marvelous thing. The Islamofeces are confused. It's beyond their Muslim comprehension (that understanding to the Islamofeces with IQs below that of a cracked eggshell.)
Vivi le France, vivi le France!!!
Come, Come, Brits. Where are you? With yours being the country of Monty Python, I know that you're not going to be out done!!!

Yaffle,

Here are the statistics. According to one index, Christians are increasing in greater numbers; according to another, Islam is increasing at a faster rate (%) due to higher birth rate. However, as you can see below, Zoroastrians are increasing at the highest rate of the religions listed (2.65%). Details can be found in the link below, but here are some excerpts. (Note: These are from a Christian site, but the original source is considered objective).

START OF EXCERPTS
__________________________
From Table 1-1 you can see that while Muslims claim they are the fastest growing religion in the world (2.13), the statistics say that Baha'is are growing at a faster rate (2.28) and faster still are Zoroastrians (2.65).

From Table 1-1 you can see that the world growth rate of Muslims is 2.13, and for Christians it is 1.36. A closer look reveals, however that the birth rate of Muslims world wide, is literally double that of Christians. This is due to the fact that Muslims are largest in the developing world where dirt floors, thatched roofs and large families are common. When you the actual conversion rate, where men chose their religion, rather then are born into it, you can see that Christians are converting, on a percentage basis, almost twice as many as Muslims (1.7:1). This means that individual Christians are out converting Muslims almost two to one! What this means, is that as third world Muslim countries become more civilized, their birth rate will drop off to match the rest of the civilized world, but Christians will still continue to out convert them at a rate of 1.7:1.

From Table 1-1 regarding world distribution, you can see that Islam is only in 204 of the worlds 238 countries. Christianity, on the other hand is in all 238 countries of the world. Christianity has a 100% penetration rate world wide!

From Table 1-2, you can see that presently every 24 hours, the world population of Christians increases by 69,000, whereas there are only 68,000 Muslims. The only reason Muslims are anywhere near Christians is because of higher birth rates in the uncivilized parts of the world where Muslims are largest. The vast majority of the 69,000 Christians will be educated, whereas the majority of the 68,000 Muslims will be illiterate peasants without clean drinking water.

There are more new Christians added to the world population than any other religion on earth every day. This data makes the entire discussion about "rates of growth" irrelevant. The fact is today, that Christianity is the fastest growing religion on this most critical basis. This may change, but today, in 2004 AD, Christians take the prize for being the fastest growing religion.

Muslims Leaving Islam in Droves
http://islamwatch.forumup.in/about89-islamwatch.html

I am president of the Occidentalis Association, one of the few organizations
in France that dares to fight openly against the growing power of Islam in Europe.

We run an Internet website, www.occidentalis.com, which is the target of
frequent attacks by Islamic fundamentalists and their supporters, of whom
there are many in France.

At the risk of being shut down or even prosecuted by the French state, which
refuses to engage in a debate about Islam, we are looking for support from
overseas, so as to make any attempt to censor us more difficult.

We would grateful if you added us to your differents links. If you would like to
contribute a topical article, that would be even more welcome. I would be
happy to furnish additional information about our activities.

We are counting on your support, just as you can count on ours.

Cordially,

Doublethink~ the power of holding two contradictory beliefs in one's mind simultaneously, and accepting both of them

peace=global domination fits right in

1984

The horrible thng about the Two Minutes Hate was not that one was obliged to act a part, but that it was impossible to avoid joining in. Within thirty seconds any pretense was always unnecessary. A hideous ecstasy of fear and vindictiveness, a desire to kill, to torture, to smash faces in with a sledge hammer, seemed to flow through the whole group of people like an electric current, turning one even against one's will into a grimacing, screaming lunatic.

~George Orwell

Now ask yourself where he got that idea. He spent many years in southeast Asia.

Here's the link for Denis Greslin's organization. Please support him!

Denis, we will do whatever we can to help! Vive la mort, vive la guerre, vive la sacre mercenaire! Vive liberté!

Of course, here in Britain would not do such a thing, like reprinting those nasty cartoons.
We are good dhimmis.
We know our place.

/sarcasm off.

This is funny. The owner of "France soir"(apparently he's part Egyptian, part French) has fired the editor in chief and issued a press release, expressing his regret... Guess it didn't last long in France.
Still, the muslims may not care. They've already been calling for boycott of French goods.

Paris daily France Soir said it had decided to reprint them “not from an appetite for gratuitous provocation, but because they constitute the subject of a controversy on a global scale which has done nothing to maintain balance and mutual limits in democracy, respect of religious beliefs and freedom of expression.”

“Now they want an apology from a society characterized with freedom of expression and religion at a time when they deny their peoples the right to free speech.”

And this from the French muslims taking time off from rioting and burning cars

PARIS, February 1, 2006 (IslamOnline.net) – French Muslim leaders on Wednesday, February 1, denounced in unison the reprinting of a series of explosive cartoons blasphemous to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) by a French daily and vowed to take the case to French courts.

“We call on French Muslims to peacefully protest this aggression on the Prophet of Islam,” the French Council for the Muslim Religion (CFCM) said in a statement after a meeting chaired by its head Dalil Boubackeur.

Boubakeur’s call was echoed by Lhaj Thami Breze, the head of the Union of French Islamic Organizations (UOIF), who blasted the provocative and unnecessary publication.

More French anti-dhimmitude: Mohamet cartoon

The caption is roughly translated: "Don't croak Mohamet, we have ALL been made caricatures."

There is one reason I can think why US, Britain and Australian governments will not like to see these cartoons published. It is for the reason that they are waging a far more serious war in islamic lands.

Now it has been given out for release that we are in Iraq to bring democracy to that country, but the results so far have been to put Iraq one step away from a civil war. Surely this must have occurred to strategists in Washington and London. There is also the Iran boil to lance and yet further operations in Syria and Sudan in the distant future.

Only the US and Britain and with some help from Australia, are likely to be involved, and they can only do so if they can convince the world and their own populations, that they have no anti-islamic views, and are doing so only to further democracy or some other noble cause.

ALERT!!!

Without freedom of speech democracy cannot exist. Self-censorship is the worst kind of speech repression because it is more profound than any that can be imposed by tyrants. Europe is losing its ability to defend its fundamental values, values for which millions of Europeans have given their very lives for centuries. Are their sacrifices to be in vain? For what then did our ancestors live and die? For what do we today live and die? Perhaps it is better for all that Iran shall be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons and that they use them as they surely will if obtained. A nuclear attack on Europe that has surrendered its fundamental values would be an act not of war, but of euthanasia. What truly free human being would not rather die than live under the despotic tyranny of shari'a?

Hopefully they have no alternatives and they will all succumb to Islamic pride and hubris. Or maybe they'll use some of their mega billions and build their own pharmaceutical factories, staffed by graduates of King Faud University holding Doctorates in Islamic Studies.

Monsieur D. Greslin,

Vive la France!

I just set up a simple blog and linked your site to it to help spread the word (plus your site helps me revive my rusty High School Francais.)

Magnifique!

It is entitled "No Pedophile Prophets!" at:

http://nopedophileprophets.blogspot.com/

The truth hurts.

Time to twist its screws tighter on the theocratically intolerant.

May a thousand cartoon mockeries bloom!

Anne,

Re: _No Laughing Matter_. Nice work!

Profitsbeard,

Good stuff; I'm going to click on your site.

I would like to add my complete support to M Denis Greslin who for many years has been running a very succesful anti jihad website in France.

Now that France-Echos seems to be down for what looks like will be a very long time, Occidentalis is more crucial than ever in mobilising opinion, which is is changing very rapidly.

The Internet in France has allowed the Blue Revolution to talk hold and was critical in getting the No Vote to the Eu constitution on 29th of May 2005.

Occidentalis has been at the forefront of encouringing the French to cross out Turkey from the Euro notes and providing the resistance movement with anti jihad stickers at student friendly prices.

Denis Greslin's strong writing has been reposted all the over the net as one dhimmi politician after another falls to the fury of his angry keyboard.

I would like to encourage as many bloggers as possible to link to his site at www.occidentalis.com

Slightly off-topic: unlike other commentators here, I wouldn't be too hot about that occidentalis.com bunch of French, who've been somewhat spamming this thread.

A quick look at their site (and their links) shows their affinities.

For instance, and since we're talking about cartoons, the link section of occidentalis (http://www.occidentalis.com/links.php?op=viewlink&cid=2) offers you this: http://dessinsdechard.free.fr/ where you'll find 'interesting' stuff such as:

- anti-American cartoons:

These people are in bed with the ugly French right: Sovereignists, Le Pen's National-Front, Bloc Identitaire, etc...

The Parisian elected Sovereignist (de Villiers' Party) at the EU Parliament once declared (in session) that France should give nuclear weapons to the Arab World (to make the game 'even' with Israel). Le Pen was publicly a supporter of Saddam at the eve of Gulf War I and OIF.

Be warned: these people hate America and Israel as much as Islam and the Arabs. Possibly more, actually.

Susan P,

LOL!!!

What the world needs now is more doctorates in Islamic religious studies. : )

In response to the posting above by Aristotle, France is not full of anti semetic American hating loonies.

Its just that lots of them seem to find work in the media.

At our local church this evening for example, a Rabbi gave talk attended by around 300 people and the exchange was very positive.

Occidentalis have responded by saying that the link referred to above has been removed and that readers should not base judgement one external link. The whole of the Occidentalis site pledges complete support of Israel and the USA (excepting of course Bush's obsession with wanting Turkey in the EU)

Denis Greslin adds that very importantly, France needs US support and not their mistrust. If Europe falls, the US will lose not a competitor, but an ally.

I copy in full the original mail from Denis Greslin

Bonsoir,

Cordialement,

Denis Greslin.

Finally - French media stabs someone other than America in the back -- and betrays.... the Muslims for a change!

Très régénérant !
