Gore to Saudis: U.S. Discrimination After Sept. 11 'Wrong'

There have been voices since 9/11 decrying the President's close friendship with the Saudis and declaring that had Al Gore or John Kerry been President, the U.S. would have stood up more firmly to the chief enablers of the global jihad, the House of Saud. We at Jihad Watch have frequently been critical of Bush's ties to the Saudis, but this article indicates that the alternative would have been no better in this regard (and of course, much worse in others). American politics needs a third response to Islamic jihad. It has not arisen yet.

From AP, with thanks to all who sent this in:

JIDDAH, Saudi Arabia — Former Vice President Al Gore told a mainly Saudi audience on Sunday that the U.S. government committed "terrible abuses" against Arabs after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, and that most Americans did not support such treatment.

Gore said Arabs had been "indiscriminately rounded up" and held in "unforgivable" conditions. The former vice president said the Bush administration was playing into Al Qaeda's hands by routinely blocking Saudi visa applications.

"The thoughtless way in which visas are now handled, that is a mistake," Gore said during the Jiddah Economic Forum. "The worst thing we can possibly do is to cut off the channels of friendship and mutual understanding between Saudi Arabia and the United States."

Gore told the largely Saudi audience, many of them educated at U.S. universities, that Arabs in the United States had been "indiscriminately rounded up, often on minor charges of overstaying a visa or not having a green card in proper order, and held in conditions that were just unforgivable."

If you are not "most Americans" and in fact *do* support such treatment, please feel free to contact Mr. Gore. Now, funnily enough, for the man who invented the internet, Gore does not have a public email address. Therefore, you'll have to make do with a letter or phone call. Here you go:

The Office of the Honorable Al Gore
2100 West End Avenue
Nashville, TN 37203
Phone: (615) 327-2227
Fax: (615) 327-1323

My letter will be in the mail today.

I would be interested in seeing what kind of charities Algore has been giving to the past few years. If, that is, he donated more than $400 in any given year...

But seriously. Considering all the 'charities' that fund terrorism, I am curious to see who he has donated to since Loosing the election in 2000.

Algore invented the internet, beer, viagra, and the modern flush toilet. Who says muslims never invent anything?

This is another good reason why this rodeo clown Gore should never hold any important political office again. He breathes fire every time he opens his mouth, and is a disgrace to this country.

The nation was attacked by Muslim/Arabs. So what would he propose America should have done?

Handed them the keys to the White House?

This guy us a true blue fool, and is part of the problem, not the solution.

Gore attacks W to an Arab audience? Gore's deep pockets bankrolled by terrorists? Say it ain't so. This dunce could have been prez? I take back everything I've ever said in the negative against W. Compared to this dhimmwit on the take, W is Churchil, Reagan, Lincoln, and FDR rolled up into one. This dhimma dole me a million and I'll speak, fund our universities, buy a stake in Fox has to stop and urgent congressional investigations are needed. This is beyond the pale. As much as Carter disgusts me(and he truly does), I don't think he's on the take as Gore is. This personal enriching a person because of his connections--AKA Neal bush or who he is . . . AKA Gore is getting old. Note the hot-button issue Gore attacked . . . the visa policies for Saudis to study and the crackdown after 911. If W had a brass set of balls, he'd intern Gore right here and now and question him was their a quid pro quo for his speech.

Wasn't Nihad Awad from CAIR a part of Gore's security team at one point? Something like that anyway.

Um, I'm a little bit confused. Aside from the prisoners at Gitmo (each one easily verifiable as a slimeball), where else have Arabs been "indiscriminately rounded up" and held?

Is there a place for me to send a donation to help make more rounding up and holding possible? I think it would be deplorable, to be indiscriminate. I believe every Arab in America has the right to be rounded up, along with his Muslim brothers from every other ethnic group, and interned.

How do dhimm-wits like Gore and Kerry get anywhere near the Whitehouse? Useful fools for those who would rule from behind the scenes, buying themselves a life of perpetual anxiety?

this sort of thing has convinced me more and more that i'll watch that new Clooney film "Syriana" or buy that ex-CIA book "See No Evil" - both are supposedly neither left or right - they just talk about big oil, the West, the saudis, corruption etc

Cherie Blair was also in Jeddah - talking about womens rights, to an audience segregated by sex.

Hmmm... Cherie Blair & co. were to the forefront of boycotting the apartheid of South Africa, and yet see nothing wrong going to the female-male apartheid state of Saudi. A state were left-wingers like Cherie are tortured , jailed and frequently executed.

I suppose "oil" talks louder than principles, Cherie, eh?

This is of a piece, but goes beyond, Clinton's crowd-pleasing cravenness in Qatar about how deplorable the Danish daring to exercise free speech was. This is about taking as a trifle measures deliberately designed to assure our own physical security, and about whipping up people already convinced that it is they who are the victims. It is nonsense. It is stupid. It is disgusting. He has lost any moral right to be listened to in this country.

He should be reminded of, and taken to task for, these words wherever he appears, on whatever show, before whatever audience. And this naturally chameleontic ability -- some would call it pandering to an audience -- should also be criticized.

Now I understand...just yesterday I was in a Caribou Coffee shop, sipping my latte, when a large paddy-wagon pulled up outside the store. Before I could put my latte down, 19 Middle-Eastern men were rounded up by a group of jack-booted thuggish men and thrown very insensitively into that wagon. Spilled expresso was everywhere! It's a good thing that former VP is on to this type of activity and is reporting it to the proper authorities, the oil barons and easily enflamed princes of the House of Saud. I hope that Mrs. Gore, with her extensive skills as a photographer, will be there to photograph the look on her husband's face when he learns of this latest incident of Arab abuse by mean Americans. In the meantime, I'll put in a call to Dr.Zogby, Niwad Awad and Ibrahim Hooper. They must be told of what is going on to all innocent, expresso-sipping Arab-looking men.

It's frightening to think that a man as stupid as Al Gore could actually have been elected President of the United State.

It makes me wonder who he hates more. George or our country. He's filled with so much hatred he's making a fool of himself, and he doesn't even care. It's unbelievable that he said the majority of Americans believe the same way he does.

I for one, do not.

This is why he isn't president. Nor will he ever be.
The same goes double for John "Back-n-Forth" Kerry!
Proof positive why "We the People" can't/don't and never will trust the democrats with our national defense and homeland security.

l wonder of all the people who voted for this disgrace of a man "Gore" some must be so glad he lost! This complete hatred of Bush has made these Democrats totally nuts to the point of being dangerous for the US and the World! yikes.. can you really believe how close Gore was prez!! if any athiest needed proof of a "God", you have it here in spades!!!

The former vice president said the Bush administration was playing into Al Qaeda's hands by routinely blocking Saudi visa applications.

Now that has to be the most moronic thing Al Gore has ever said!
Not letting terrorists into our Country somehow plays into the hands of the terrorist, say what? I am sure Gore himself couldn’t really explain the meaning of that boneheaded statement.

It is so refreshing to know that if certain people were running our Country they would be so very kind to the very people who attacked us! You know, kill three thousand American non combatants, get an invite to the White House for dinner.

Now that would be unforgivable.

Maybe Al Gore will except an invite from the current VP to go on a nice little hunting trip.
Oops...

Did Al grow his beard back for the trip?

Turkish Foreign Minister Gul was also at that conference. He told the audience that the world must learn to respect religions and he felt that the publishing of the Danish cartoons showed disrespect. The irony of making these statements in a country like Saudi Arabia (I needn't elaborate) was probably completely lost on the audience -- and I suspect, it was completely lost on Gore as well.

Gore: "The worst thing we can possibly do is to cut off the channels of friendship and mutual understanding between Saudi Arabia and the United States."

When will we see an end to such stupidity and suicidal tendencies?

l wonder if AlFranken, Michael Moore, will right another book at the how Clinton and Algore are so cozy with the Saudi? mmmm where is the freaken left on the the love in with the Saudis from these losers Dems!

The former vice president said the Bush administration was playing into Al Qaeda's hands by routinely blocking Saudi visa applications.
Here are 15 Saudi visa applicants who were not blocked: Easy Visas

Here is a copy of the letter which I sent to Gore:

Dear Mr. Gore,

Recently I read about a speech which you gave in Saudi Arabia. In your speech you stated that "…Arabs have been indiscriminately rounded up…" in the U.S. Since those being held in Guantanamo are suspected of being involved in various terror activities on U.S. soil and therefore I must assume that you have no objection to preventing terrorists from striking again, can you please explain to me which other groups of Arab Americans have been "rounded up"? This concerns me a great deal. I’ve read of many terror cells which have been discovered in the U.S., and am sure that you approve of the incarceration of those involved. If you could clarify which groups of Arabs you had in mind when making that statement, I’d be grateful.

Also, in that same speech, you referred to "…the channels of friendship and mutual understanding between Saudi Arabia and the United States". I have some questions about this statement as well. Since you were visiting Saudi Arabia, I’m sure that you are familiar with one of their most respected imams, Sheik Abdul Rahman al-Seedes, the imam of the Grand Mosque in Mecca. Do you agree with this quote from al-Seedes (also known as al-Sudais in the English press) which he made on Friday February 10?

“"Where is the world with all its agencies and organizations? Is there only freedom of expression when it involves insults to Muslims? With one voice...we will reject the apology and demand a trial," al-Seedes told his followers on Friday.

Do you support his demand for a trial held in accordance with Sharia law in Denmark? I’m not quite sure which category his statement falls into: would it be ‘friendship’ , or ‘mutual understanding’?

I am an American Jew. I was alarmed when that same imam said this:

"While addressing 2 million followers at the Grand Mosque in Mecca, Sheikh Abdul Rahman al-Sudais prayed to God to “terminate” the Jews, who he called “the scum of humanity, the rats of the world, prophet killers, pigs and monkeys…"

Again – does that represent ‘friendship’ or ‘mutual channels of understanding’? I’m disturbed by certain portions of your speech delivered to those who hold such a man in high esteem. However, I remain sure that you must find the imam as well as his supporters to be vile racists.

I look forward to reading your reply, and thank you for your time.

Sincerely,
libbysmom

Stay tuned. I'm sure the response will be interesting.

Sounds like sedition to me. Trial for Gore anyone?

What a schmuck Gore is and he has 9/11 blood on his hands and how dare he lecture anyone.

During the Clinton/Gore Administration, the visa process for Saudis' were streamlined to make it more user friendly by the State Dept.

Many of the 9/11 hijackers would have been refused a visa if normal and past procedures were
followed.

Did the 9/11 Commision review this? Without a doubt Clinton and Gore cost the lives of many.

Gore who thinks he has a superior intellect is/has
become "unhinged" because he lost the Election.
He is seething with anger. Maybe with luck he will have a stroke if he continues to be angry.

I am angry at Clinton and Gore for their treasonous conduct.

By the way, if any readers here were not aware of
the "user friendly" visa process for Saudis',

You now know why 19 of the 9/11 hijackers were
Saudis' and for that reason alone.

A pandering pimp for petro-plunder.

He many tens of thousands of Saudi bucks did he get for betraying his own land by spreading, to the joy and encouragement of the jihadis worldwide (from their central command post) these outrageous falsehoods?

Liar, traitor, anti-American, slanderer of his own people, coward, quisling and peabrain.

And, funnily enough, as he attempts to become Osama Bin Veep, Al Gore has no rhythm.

RE: A pandering pimp for petro-plunder.

Well said profitsbeard!!!!!!!!!!
and Gore is a whore!!

Libbysmom,

I am glad you got a chuckle out of the Naseem post the other day. I too got a chuckle out of your response. It was nice to brighten someones day with Islamohumor.

As for Gore, I don't have a comment. I am very disappointed.

Kafir

This!?!......from Al (Quida) Gore? What did you expect?

I suppose Al Gore forgot the GORE from the airplanes smashing into our buildings flown mostly by Saudis, or the GORE from the terrorists in Israel or Beslan or Turkey or Pakistan or India or Indonesia or England or Spain and on and on. The GORE from those events should be constantly drilled into Al Gores head through constant viewing of these events over and over again. He is acting like Mohammads lap dog. Come and take our country now that we feel so guilty for hurting the feelings of a few Saudis.
Thank God he lost.

The chubby ex-Veep tumbled into Fictive Reality Land when he lost the 2000 election fair and square. Of course the charge of black voter suppression was malarkey, hell, halve the cops nowadays themselves are black.

But when the media --- Marxists all --- bought into the stolen election fantasy, well, that sent Al's big loud mouth off into a six year run of fantastic assertions that are laughable.

He's found his niche in Islamia. After all, what better audience to sell conspiracy fantasies than buildings full of Moslems.

Is not the Koran itself rife with such fantastic whiney conspiracy theories?

Gore should be sent back to Tennisee where those loyal red-state people would pistol-whip him senseless. Oh, wait. He already is senseless.
