It's some time since I visited Palestine, so I may be out of date, but I don't remember seeing many Danish flags on sale there. Not much demand, I suppose. I raise the question because, as soon as the row about the cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed in Jyllands-Posten broke, angry Muslims popped up in Gaza City, and many other places, well supplied with Danish flags ready to burn. (In doing so, by the way, they offered a mortal insult to the most sacred symbol of my own religion, Christianity, since the Danish flag has a cross on it, but let that pass.)Why were those Danish flags to hand? Who built up the stockpile so that they could be quickly dragged out right across the Muslim world and burnt where television cameras would come and look? The more you study this story of "spontaneous" Muslim rage, the odder it seems.
The complained-of cartoons first appeared in October; they have provoked such fury only now. As reported in this newspaper yesterday, it turns out that a group of Danish imams circulated the images to brethren in Muslim countries. When they did so, they included in their package three other, much more offensive cartoons which had not appeared in Jyllands-Posten but were lumped together so that many thought they had.
It rather looks as if the anger with which all Muslims are said to be burning needed some pretty determined stoking. Peter Mandelson, who seems to think that his job as European Trade Commissioner entitles him to pronounce on matters of faith and morals, accuses the papers that republished the cartoons of "adding fuel to the flames"; but those flames were lit (literally, as well as figuratively) by well-organised, radical Muslims who wanted other Muslims to get furious. How this network has operated would make a cracking piece of investigative journalism.
Now the BBC announces that the head of the International Association of Muslim Scholars has called for an "international day of anger" about the cartoons. It did not name this scholar, or tell us who he is. He is Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi. According to Ken Livingstone, the Mayor of London, Qaradawi is like Pope John XXIII for Catholics, "the most progressive force for change" in the Muslim world.....
Obviously, in the case of the Danish pictures, there was no danger of idolatry, since the pictures were unflattering. The problem, rather, was insult. But I am a bit confused about why someone like Qaradawi thinks it is insulting to show the Prophet's turban turned into a bomb, as one of the cartoons does. He never stops telling us that Islam commands its followers to blow other people up....
There is a great deal of talk about responsible journalism, gratuitous offence, multicultural sensitivities and so on. Jack Straw gibbers about the irresponsibility of the cartoons, but says nothing against the Muslims threatening death in response to them. I wish someone would mention the word that dominates Western culture in the face of militant Islam - fear. And then I wish someone would face it down.
So do I. Oh, so do I.

not only about the Danish muslims trawling around the middle-east with their'outrageous' dossier containing the cartoons, but adding that the next chairman of the International Atomic Energy Agency is, surprisnly Denmark, and who is having a little spat with the IAEA? why the very same country that is often regarded as responsible for funding many of the fundementalist Muslim orgainsations that are currently making a great deal of fuss over Denmark.

Talk of 'the cartoons' is unfair. The turban-bomb is either too vague or just a modern version of anti-Jewish caricatures but the virgins one is a smart skewering of religious fanaticism and several of the others are pretty harmless.

Really this is an excellent opportunity for all Muslims to expose and teach others what is Islam and what was the life of prophets Muhammed (pbuh). I have seen some of them reacting inappropriately. Insulting prophet Muhammed is not a new thing, as it was happened on the time of prophet itself. Study how the holy Quran replied for such insults and we have to follow that way.
Most of the Westers have been taught Islam from its enimies, not through the Holy Quran or the life history of prophet Muhammad. That is why they say 'the founder of Islam is prophet Muhammad'. But actually, Islam is the religion of all prophets, like, the first human on earth Adam & Havva (Eve), Nuh, Abraham (Ibrahim), Ismail, Ishaq, Soloman (Sulaiman), Moses, Jeses (Essa), and the last prophet Muhammad. There is no difference between one prophet to another, but the only difference is that Muhammed is the last prophets and the holy Quran is the last text from God.
The holy Quran revealed for all mankind until the last day. The safety and originally of the holy Quran is guaranteed by God Hiself throgh the Quran. And we can see there is no change in it, as it is the same that it revealed to Muhammed. There is close relation with Muslims, Christian and Jews, as they are all the people of God's Books, and a muslim man is permitted to marry the chaste women from Christian and Jews religion.
It is obligatory of all men on earth to believe in the holy Quran and live a life in accordance with its directions, as it is the last text of God.
Wester people are not the enimies of muslims, but most of them are not aware and studied what is Islam. The duty of muslims is to show them what is Islam by witnessing them as the best people on earth. Only by name as a muslim, there is no benefit, if only they lead a life in accordance with the directions of Allah and prophet Muhammed, a man become a muslim. A real muslim will never keep hate and prejudice in his mind, but sympathy upon ignorance and tolerance upon mistreatment and try to teach them through their excellent behaviour and work, as the holy Quran orders, defent evil with good.
The present cartoons are nothing to bother, as they can never defame Islam or muslims, if muslims lead a good life and stand as a witness for excellent deeds, no body can create misunderstanding in the minds of others.
But one thing is important, all the good men should make their voice upon these kind of bad behaviour as this is making split in the hearts of various religious people and it creates damage to the smooth life and culture.

Clearly, this cartoon business is totally out of proportion. So who is feeding it? I believe it is Iran to distract from its nuke activities.
I think that a good thing will come out from it: the world will learn 1 or 2 lessons about many policians. At the end of the day, when the world start going after Islam, those policians will hide. We will remember.
Islam is not a religion but an association of criminals whose program has been available for 1500 years in the Coran. But most humans "have eyes but do not see, have ears but do not hear..."
All that stinks petrol. If the West didn't need it so bad we would ignore islam and treat it as what it is : not a religion but a criminal cult comploting against humanity not so much to convert it as to submit it.

Incidentally, the cartoon depicting Mohammed with a bomb in his turban could be interpreted as a homage or encouragement to potential suicide-bombers.
After all, the image suggests that the Prophet Himself is about to embrace 'martyrdom'. From this, would could infer that a would-be suicide-bomber would be emulating Mohammed by blowing himself to pieces in the name of jihad.
It's one interpretation, I suppose. :-)
I strongly suspect most Muslims do not have a clue what the cartoons actually mean and are taking their lead from Islamic 'scholars' and other Muslim 'leaders'. Well, there is no "strongly suspect" about it - they are.

Don't start packing your bags for that long flight just yet. I'll give it two days before you hear Helen Clark and the rest of her Labour party henchmen start groveling to the muslim world and re-affirm their premier dhimmi status.
I say this for two reasons. The Labour Party in NZ is thouroughly entrenched in PC and Multiculturalist dogma and this naturally calls for speaking up for an "oppressed and victimized people".
Also, the Dairy/Meat industry is the numero uno foreign exchange earner for the country with huge volumes going to the ME. The government is going to be forced to protect this market and an apology from Helen Clark will be the minimium government response. I wouldn't be surprised to see the paper and/or writer criminally charged under some hate law.
I will let you in on a little secret where Meat companies and the Islamic organizations certifying Halal slaughter collude in deceiving the Islamic market. The animal rights activists down under have brought in laws that forbid the straight knife across the throat, inhumane killing of an animal. So what happens is the animal is electrocuted with a stun gun before the knife does it’s dirty work.
Now in theory, the zapped animal is still alive but the nervous system is impervious to pain, so the throat slitting can proceed and the halal requirements are met. But having seen this with my own eyes and talking to the guys doing the stunning, I can tell you there is no way that the animal will get up and walk away after it’s been stunned. In effect, it is brain dead and in my minds eye, they are cutting the throat of a dead animal.
I take great joy in knowing that millions of muslims thinks they are fulfilling a barbaric religious duty when that is not necessarily the case. “It’s my way of sticking it to the man”.
