Ijaz: "Islamic truths"

Mansoor Ijaz writes in the LA Times, with thanks to Andy McCarthy.

ANOTHER WEEK, another Muslim country burns in rage over months-old Danish cartoons depicting the prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in an unflattering light. On Friday it was Libya, and earlier in the week it was my father's homeland, Pakistan, where violent protests were scattered across the nation. Some Muslims have decided that burning cities in defense of a prophet's teachings, which none of them seem willing to practice, is preferable to participating in rational debate about the myths and realities of a religion whose worst enemies are increasingly its own adherents...

The first truth is that most Muslim ideologues are hypocrites. What has Osama bin Laden done for the victims of the 2004 tsunami or the shattered families who lost everything in the Pakistani earthquake last year? He did not build one school, offer one loaf of bread or pay for one vaccination. And yet he, not the devout Muslim doctors from California and Iowa who repair broken limbs and lives in the snowy peaks of Kashmir, speaks the loudest for what Muslims allegedly stand for. He has succeeded in presenting himself as the defender of Islam's poor, and the Western media has taken his jihadist message all the way to the bank.

Not to rain on Mr. Ijaz's parade, but I fail to see why a lack of charity on the part of radical Muslims proves hypocrisy on their part.

The second truth — one that the West needs to come to grips with — is that there is no such human persona as a "moderate Muslim." You either believe in the oneness of God or you don't. You either believe in the teachings of his prophet or you don't. You either learn those teachings and apply them to the circumstances of life in the country you have chosen to live in, or you shouldn't live there.

Excuse me, Mr. Ijaz, but belief if the "oneness of God" is so vague as to be incomprehensible, but belief in the teachings of Muhammad is definitely a clear cut issue of contention.

Haters of Islam use the simplicity and elegance of its black-and-white rigor for devious political advantage by classifying the Koran's religious edicts as the cult-like behavior of fanatics. The West would win a lot of hearts and minds if it only showed Islam as it really is — telling the story, for example, that the prophet Muhammad was one of the great commodity traders of all time because he based his dealings on uniquely Muslim values, or that the reason he had multiple wives was not for the sake of sex but to give proper homes to the children of women made widows during a time of war. The cartoon imbroglio offered Western media an opportunity to portray the prophet in his many dignified dimensions, not just the distorted ones; sadly, there were few takers.

Few takers? The entire western world has eagerly taken that apologetic line along with the hook and sinker at the highest levels of government.

But to look at angry Islam's reaction on television each night forces the question of what might be possible if all the lost energy of thousands of rioting Muslims went into the villages of Aceh to rebuild lost homes or into Kashmir to construct schools.

In fact, the most glaring truth is that Islam's mobsters fear the West has it right: that we have perfected the very system Islam's holy scriptures urged them to learn and practice. And having failed in their mission to lead their masses, they seek any excuse to demonize those of us in the West and to try to bring us down. They know they are losing the ideological struggle for hearts and minds, for life in all its different dimensions, and so they prepare themselves, and us, for Armageddon by starting fires everywhere in a display of Islamic unity intended to galvanize the masses they cannot feed, clothe, educate or house.

This is not Islam. And the faster its truest believers stand up and demonstrate its values and principles by actions, not words, the sooner a great religion will return to its rightful role as guide for nearly a quarter of humanity.

Well then, will the "real" Islam please stand up? We've been waiting a long time. Unfortunately, Mr. Ijaz seems to be a man between worlds; his loyalty subject to the claims of both. Eventually, I believe, he will be forced to choose; and it is that very choice he seeks to avoid by writing these kinds of pieces. However, is he not working to advance Islam by seeking to reassure the western world that he "knows" the "true" Islam and how all those Qur'an quoting clerics have it all wrong?

At first I liked him. He's very likeable, very well-educated. Then I started to wonder. I wonder no more.

What was the reason he was diddling Aisha when she was 6?

I'll take "to satisfy his own physical desires not to quell her fears of the dark of night" for 500, Alex.

Has anyone watching Fox news noticed that footage of Ijaz praying, his business suit, trim mustache and hair clearly separating him from the rest of the congregants, is regularly interspersed with cartoon riot footage? The clear but not-so-subtle message is "See, here's a moderate muslim, one of ours, they're not all flag burners." He's a cagy character at best.

Ijaz is intelligent, articulate, successful and wealthy. And he comes across, as WD says, as a likeable guy.

And at first, I respected him and his opinions.

But I have come to the conclusion that no rational, intelligent Muslim can read the Qur'an and hadiths and remain a Muslim. And he fits that profile.

None the less, his statement that "there is no such human persona as a "moderate Muslim"" is exploitable.

Is he a deliberate deceiver, or one of those who out of filial piety just can't accept, must avoid looking at, what is staring him in the face in the Qur'an, Hadith, and Sira? What does he say when one mentions Asma bint Marwan, Abu Akaf, and a few dozen others put to death either at Muhammad's instigation, or at least to earn Muhammad's favor? What does he say to Muhammad watching the decapitation of the 800-900 prisoners of the Banu Qurayza? The attack on the inoffensive farmers of the Khaybar Oasis? The deception, hailed by Muslims, of the 10-year hudna with the Meccans, that Treaty of Al-Hudaibiyya, that was broken by Muhammad as soon as he felt his side was stronger, and that has been ever after celebrated as an example not only of his cunning ("War is deception" said Muhammad),but as the model of all agreements to be made with Infidels (just like the hudna being offered Israel -- no thanks -- by Hamas today, which on radio and television is mentioned, but not a single commentator has the intelligence to instruct his audience in the historical signficance of that word "hudna" and in Muslim jurisprudence. Hint to Media: before discussing Islam, read a little. Read Majid Khadduri, War and Peace in Islam. You might be able to make sense of things for your audiences, rather than continue to act as mere reporters, unable to comprehend the simplest think about what you are reporting).

Ijaz may not be a snake in the Tariq-Ramadan mold. But he is one more unable to face the full truth, and at a loss to deal with Infidels as they begin, more and more of them, to learn about Islam on their own. Simply going around MESA Nostra, not taking the Sells' sanitized version of the Qur'an, not falling for the CAIR version of the Qur'an, nor the studied silence on Hadith and Sira, not even buying the Bernard-Lewis inattention to, and sometimes jealous undercutting of, Bat Ye'or's pioneering work on the treatment of non-Muslims under Islam.

No, the Ijazes of this world have a Big Problem. It is called: knowledge. Infidels Acquiring Knowledge about Islam.

What's to be done? How to stop it? How to direct it? How to keep them from arriving at the conclusions that those who want to continue to pretend that Islam is sheer wonderfulness only misinterpreted by, "perverted" by, a mere handful, make that a million, make that a few hundred million, make that many hundreds of millions, of Musilms all over the Muslim world, and within the Lands of the Infidels as well, who have somenow managed to "misinterpret" Islam.

A rich fantasy life, has Mr. Ijaz. For emotional reasons, he has to.

"Real" Islam--which is the face of violent jihad we confront in 2006? Or an "ideal" Islam--the "nicey-nicey" version which non-extremists tout as the "real" one?

If the ideal were the real, the world wouldn't be in this mess.

I want to thank you, Hugh, for your erudition of Islam and the clarity in your posts.

You are so right in your statement about Infidels acquiring knowledge. The faster, the better, so thanks for being so articulate about Islam, world history, & current politics. You give us many points to investigate and think about on our own.

".... the reason he had multiple wives was not for the sake of sex but to give proper homes to the children of women made widows during a time of war. The cartoon imbroglio offered Western media an opportunity to portray the prophet in his many dignified dimensions,..."

Does he think we're not going to notice that several of Muhammad's wives were widowed in the first place because their husbands were killed by Muhammad's followers? Does he seriously think any westerner could possibly find this "dignified"?

Just because he was/is a FNC contributor doesn't make him a saint. He is a partial Jihadist - in cases like the Pak-India dispute, where he perceived that the West has/had no dog, he had no problems pushing Pakistan's case (and disclaiming that it's out of filial loyalty). However, while some people would be willing to support Jihads against India, they'd be less willing to support Jihads against the West. Therein lies his problem.

If one notices, he targets his guns on Iran & al-Qaeda, and uses his stridency on this to avoid saying anything majorly critical of other Islamic regimes like Saudi Arabia & Egypt. He would do all a favor by delivering his commentaries in Islamic countries, rather than the West. Let him write this in the Pakistani press, and see what reception he gets.

Before we question Mr. Ijaz's motives lets consider the impact of these types of “talking heads” on any westerner with a brain. Most of us consider the source. I think they mostly discredit themselves and bring more people to our side. By justifying things which go against the core western values we westerners will automatically mentally group them with countless others who managed to get their 10 minutes of fame before fading away. I asked good ol Naseem yesterday to produce one, just one Islamic religious or political figure who could serve as a role model. I didn’t expect an answer because we all know they do not have one. Anyone who could command the respect of the muslim world would be totally unexcitable to us. Recently, I watched a BBC show that was meant to be pro islam. It showed two Americans living in the USA and followed them around while they sang the praises of islam. This is why shows and these talking heads fail. The show went fine until the man discredited himself with a crack about whoever caused 9/11, BINGO, instantly discredited, I seem to remember they (UBL and the boyz) finally admitted guilt for that one. The woman went from wearing a rag on her head to the entire ninja suit during the show. She claimed to feel free, and praised islam. This is what I saw in the show. Change of identity, renaming yourself with a new “islamic name”. Following of strict rituals and rules. Knowledge of “secrets”, in her case she was going to be among the few nut jobs to spend eternity at the feet of mohammud. I was waiting to see how a convert could pull that one off when she claimed most muslims born into the faith could not. After the show was finished I searched google for cult recruitment techniques. Strangely enough BBC’s little show showed almost all of the common methodology in one little episode. Although the show was clearly meant to be pro islam it simply proved them a bigger threat. Let Mr Ijaz and any other nut job speak, the best part of freedom of speech is letting them hang themselves. The more muslims who demand us to change, the more of us who will start to watch them closer. I think most of us on this site discuss our concerns with others. A little grassroots action goes a long way. Help pass emails supporting the Danes, make and wear (or buy) shirts. I include links to JW/DW in all my emails now. Like good ol Mulder said “the truth is out there”. Let’s help spread some of it.

Ronin.

"And yet he, not the devout Muslim doctors from California and Iowa who repair broken limbs and lives in the snowy peaks of Kashmir..."
-- from Ijaz's article above

But why specify the aid from "devout Muslim doctors from California and Iowa"? The aid has come mainly from Infidel Americans, from the Infidel American army, setting up field hospitals. Those American field hospitals are not staffed by "devout Muslim doctors from California and Iowa" but the intent is clear -- to make us forget that it is Infidels who have been helping Muslims (what did Saudi Arabia, what did Iran, what did any Muslim state do for the tsunami victims? what did any Muslim state do comparable to the aid offered by Israel after the Istanbul earthquake?).

These "Muslim doctors from California and Iowa" may exist, that is a half-dozen such doctors may exist and served as volunteers, but their mention is merely a transparent "Muslims-as-American-as-apple-pie" appeal that Mahmoud Ijaz has worked into his supposedly anquished call for Infidels to keep searching for that ever more elusive "true Islam" that Ijaz wishes all of us to keep pursuing as one would the will-o'-the-wisp in some endless marsh, which no matter how one staggers about in the soggy wetlands, never quite can be reached, remains forever unattainable though its false flames still flicker, now here, now over there).

Ijaz should read the Qur'an, the Hadith (al-Bukhari and Muslim) and the Sira more attentively. He should read Sura 9 as we, the Infidels, are now reading it. He should read Muhammad's remarks - "War is deception" and "Islam is to dominate and not to be dominated" and a few hundred other statements and acts recorded in the "authentic" Hadiths, and ask himself what Muslims make of those remarks, and what Infidels are to make of them? For none of it can any longer be hidden from view. Nor can it be interpreted away. Nor can the long history of Muslim conquest, and subsequent subjugation of non-Muslims, from the Jews and Christians of the Middle East and North Africa to, further east, the Zoroastrians of Persia, the Hindus and Buddhists of the subcontinent and present-day Afghanistan and the East Indies. For none of it is any longer subject to the pieties that the last few decades have imposed, nor to the apologists, even if they now dominate many academic departments (and certainly MESA Nostra). They have been seen through; they have lost their authority. Students either avoid the courses altogher, or wait, until they are out, to learn the truth about Islam and about how badly they were deceived by the MESA Nostra smilers who inflicted such misinformation upon them.

And about those Pakistanis, and the aid they have received. Why does Ijaz not dare to approach, or even hint at considering, the nature of Islam as helping to explain the despotism that is the overwhelming fact of Muslim countries is that of depotism. Only in Lebanon, with its large and powerful Christian presence, and in Turkey, where 80 years of systematic attempts to contain Islam (a systematic attempt called "Kemalism") have limited its political and social power, is there an absence of such despotism. And despite being the recipients of the greatest transfer of wealth in human history -- nearly $10 trillion since 1973 alone, not to mention the non-oil Muslim states being the recipients of the greatest amount of Western foreign aid, there has been almost no sustainable economoic development in any of the Muslim states save for Turkey, Tunisia (itself limiting Islam under Ben Ali, continuing the policies of Habib Bourguiba and the Destour Party), and in Malaysia (where the 50% of the population that is Chinese and Hindu is the engine of that economic development).

None of this is mentioned by Mamoud Ijaz, with those "Muslim doctors from California and Iowa" who are doing such great work in Pakistan, while all those non-Muslim aid workers, those American servicemen with their field hospitals, are completely overlooked and forgotten.

We hold these "Islamic truths" to be self-evident, or if not self-evident, at least written down, for all time, in the immutable texts of Islam:

"Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued. —Qur'an, 9.29

Narrated Ibn 'Umar:
Allah's Apostle said: "I have been ordered (by Allah) to fight against the people until they testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and that Muhammad is Allah's Apostle, and offer the prayers perfectly and give the obligatory charity, so if they perform a that, then they save their lives an property from me except for Islamic laws and then their reckoning (accounts) will be done by Allah." —Sahih Bukhari, V1B2N24

"He it is Who hath sent His messenger with the guidance and the Religion of Truth, that He may cause it to prevail over all religion, however much the unbelievers hate it." —Qur'an, 9.33

"When you see the Unbelievers, slay them."

"War is deception." -- Hadith

"Islam is to dominate and not to be dominated." -- Hadith

And there are many more such "Islamic truths" written, in the Qur'an and in the most "authentic" (that is, deemed authentic by the most authoritative muhaddithin, Bukhari and Muslim) Hadith, and then there are the acts of Muhammad as recorded in the Sira, which show just how Muhammad behaved, and Muhammad, uswa hasana, al-insan al-kamil, is a Model for All Time.

No, genie's out of the bottle. You can try to keep the world-wide Community of Infidels, the Umma of those Infidels, from learning about the Qur'an, the Hadith, and the Sira. You can infiltrate, and then openly seize control of, academic centers, you can cow the press and make it come up with casuistic justifications for that press's own failure to instruct its trusting audience in the contents of Islam. You can even attempt to administer Islam in carefully controlled doses, possibly droplet form, to mewing Infidels -- cheep, cheep! -- who will be carefully watched by Muslism so that they do not learn of the real thing, until it is too late. But it won't work. Just can't keep the Qur'an, Hadith, and Sira a secret. Can't keep the history of Muslim mistreatment of non-Muslims a secret -- especially since such mistreatment is so obviously continuing today, in the southern Sudan, in Pakistan, in Bangladesh, in Iraq, in Indonesia, in Lebanon, in Malaysia, in Saudi Arabia -- everywhere that Christians or Hindus or Buddhists (no Jews left in Musliim lands to mistreat, but they can always be murderedby Muslims in France, where they are being attacked and murdered, one by one, while the government and police carefully refrain from noting the Islamic motives of the murderers -- see the brand-new case in Bagneux, of Ilan Halimi).

And after such knowledge, what forgiveness for the apologists in the West, Muslim and non-Muslim, of Islam?

Haters of Islam use the simplicity and elegance of its black-and-white rigor for devious political advantage by classifying the Koran's religious edicts as the cult-like behavior of fanatics.

Did anyone else notice the clear logical disconnect of this statement? How can something that is simple and black-and-white be used for devious advantage?

I just found the article to be a mass of confusion. The Muslims burning and killing over cartoons make Islam look bad. Yet, they are instigated by "hypocrites" like bin Laden. Then the Western press misses an opportunity to make Islam look good while the followers of said religion make it look bad. When was it the press' job to make Islam look good? They aren't in the job of proselytizing.

In fact, the most glaring truth is that Islam's mobsters fear the West has it right: that we have perfected the very system Islam's holy scriptures urged them to learn and practice.

If he could point to a coherent Islamic theological position that says that, that would be great. It is Christianity mixed with some Greek philosophy that got us to this point, not Islam.

This is not Islam.

You hear this claim all the time. Yet his claim seems to be less backed up by the Koran. It's as bad as the Muslim columnist for the local paper who claimed that Mohammed never took revenge on those who spoke against him or committed any violent acts.

A sea of honey poured over the bile of the Koran won't turn it into a doctrine of anything but holy terror.

The disinformation brigades keep asking people to get to know Islam through the Koran.

They're going to regret it when people do.

The pedophile warlord's mask of peace will fall.

And the p.c. b.s. will be squelched, finally.

I have always believed Ijaz is a troubled man as I have watched him on Fox news over the years. He wants to be a patriotic American but he can't give up Islam. But Islam is all about hating the infidels. 50% of the Quran are directing to disparaging or urging murder of the infidels. For those Muslims who want to be patriotic Americans, this is the dilemna - How can I be a patriotic American and a Muslim. Sadly, you can't.

It is obvious to any non-Muslim that Mansoor Ijaz is yet another apologist for Islam. If he was that patriotic he would question what real Islam is all about and make no apologies for all the faults, that is Islam. He would leave Islam. This statement takes the cake:

"that the reason he had multiple wives was not for the sake of sex but to give proper homes to the children of women made widows during a time of war".

I did not know till now, that Aisha at six ,was a widow and had children. Thank you Ijaz for enlightening me. This is 'takkiya' at its best, being taken to a ridiculous level, any takers? The fact this shows Mohamed was a pedophile does not at all pass through his Muslim brain, how sad. He is trying hard to further the Islamic agenda in the US.

John Sobieski-

"How can I be a patriotic American and a Muslim? Sadly, you can't."

That should be imprinted over the doorway of every port of entry and every naturalization office.

Which is why no Muslim believer should have ever been allowed to become a naturalized citizen: their loyalty to Islam makes any other oath - such as to uphold the Constitution and Bill of Rights- a blatant lie. And, as documented liars, they thus become seditionists when they take a false oath, and should have been then denied entry to the U.S. (or West in general). Or deported once their real allegiance was known.

Why they even want to pretend to serve two masters is suspicious.

Let them be honest.

They hate all that America stands for- freedom of religion, expression, behavior, intellectual inquiry, etc.- and should just stay in Mecca and seethe in dogmatic rage and be happy.

Why try to spread their bile here?

Oh, wait, I know, the Koran told them to. And told them to lie about their true motives as they did.

Another reason to start deportation proceedings and denying visas, green cards and citizenship.

A real Muslim cannot be a true American.

Ask one.

Though they will go through the contortions of double-jointed theological Houdini before they get to the answer, they will eventually admit it.

Let's have a look at what this Islamist apologist Ijaz is up to:

Ijaz: “What has Osama bin Laden done for the victims of the 2004 tsunami or the shattered families who lost everything in the Pakistani earthquake last year?”

Actually, bin Laden has probably contributed more to Muslim charity causes than Ijaz. It’s just that bin Laden has been a little tied up with other concerns for the past few years. Note also that Ijaz intends here to say “What has bin Laden done to help Muslims?” and that he does not decry the fact that bin Laden has done nothing to help non-Muslims (see verse 28:86 for the explanation for Ijaz’s omission and bin Laden’s neglect). And then there is as tangential, trivial issue of the thousands of innocent non-Muslims civilians killed that Ijaz doesn’t have time to mention. He doesn’t have time to mention it because his whole article is a whining narcissistic obsession over Islam’s self-image. (e.g., “the Western media has taken [bin Laden’s] jihadist message all the way to the bank.”)

Allah approves of bin Laden’s attacks on non-Muslims, but does he approve of Ijaz’s statements?

4:77 "Hast thou not seen those unto whom it was said: Withhold your hands, establish worship and pay the poordue, but when fighting was prescribed for them behold! a party of them fear mankind even as their fear of Allah or with greater fear, and say: Our Lord! Why hast Thou ordained fighting for us? If only Thou wouldst give us respite yet a while! Say (unto them, O Muhammad): The comfort of this world is scant; the Hereafter will be better for him who wardeth off (evil); and ye will not be wronged the down upon a date-stone."

Ijaz: "Haters of Islam use the simplicity and elegance of its black-and-white rigor for devious political advantage by classifying the Koran's religious edicts as the cult-like behavior of fanatics."

Yes, it’s easy to see how fight/oppose/shun/’be ruthless toward’ could be misconstrued, when those verses actually say hug and kiss the non-Muslims. It’s also easy to see how “worst of created beings” could be misunderstood, when it actually means that non-Muslims are fine upstanding citizens. One wouldn’t want to misunderstand Allah when he tells disbelievers to go hang themselves (22:15), whereas this statement actually means, “peace be with you, my precious non-Muslim creations.” Good thing we have Ijaz to clear this up for us.

About that cult-like behaviour...

------------------------------------------

Cult-like behaviour (and beliefs that influence behaviour).

1. Social and psychological Isolation of the in-group members: Division of the world into Muslims and non-Muslims.

4:144 "Believers, do not choose the unbelievers rather than the faithful as your friends. Would you give Allah a clear proof against yourselves?"

Avoid those who mock or jest Islam or treat it as a mere passtime (6:68. 6:70).

Turn away from idolaters (6:106). Let the idolaters kill their own children (6:137).

When disbelievers are allowed to join together, there will be confusion and corruption in the land (8:73); believers must counter this by joining up together in opposition to the disbelievers.

"Never help” (28:86) command means that Muslims’ good works are limited to helping other Muslims or to otherwise pursuing Islam’s interests.

*Don't let your children distract you from your duty to Allah. 63:9

*A Muslim man’s wives and children are potential enemies. They may tempt him away from his duty to Allah. 64:14-15

*Muhammad's wives need to be careful. If they criticize their husband, Allah will replace them with better ones. 66:5

*On the Last Day good Muslims will not love their non-Muslim friends and family members, not even their fathers, sons, or brothers (or their mothers, daughters, or sisters). 58:22

*Don't make be friends with with your disbelieving family members. Those who do so are wrong-doers. 9:23

*quoted or paraphrased notes from http://www.skepticsannotatedbible.com/quran/index.htm

2. Demonization of the out-group members

Those who lead Muslims away from Allah will receive hell-fire/ painful doom (22:9, 58:14-15)

8:55. “Lo! The worst of beasts in Allah’s sight are the ungrateful who will not believe.”
(This is one example of a long list of insults against non-Muslims. Context doesn’t matter because these insults refer to the inherent character traits of non-Muslims as long as they remain non-Muslims)

Those who deny Mohammad’s revelations are evil (7:177).

60:4 says followers of Allah will hate the disbelievers forever, unless the disbelievers convert to Islam only.

Christians, Jews, and idolaters who disbelieve scripture are the worst creatures in Allah’s sight (98:6) and will receive hell-fire.

Idolaters are unclean (9:28). Don’t pray for idolaters (9:113).

Disbelievers who do good works do so in vain, because they are going to hell anyway (5:5, 18:104-106, also 18:30, 33:19, 47:1, 47:32).

3. Criminalization of being a non-Member (or thinking, talking, or acting like one).

The worst possible sin is disbelief in or denial of Allah (10:17, 11:18-19, 18:15, 18:57, 29:68, 32:22, 39:32, 61:7). Disbelief or turning away from Allah is a persecution worse than warfare (2:217) or slaughter (2:191). (for a discussion of 2:191, see http://www.faithfreedom.org/faq/70.htm ).

Those who malign the prophet and Allah will be doomed (33:57), those who malign Muslims will be doomed (33:58), hypocrites and alarmists (those who stir up sedition against Islam with their words and expressions—e.g., mockers and critics) will be seized wherever they are found and slain in a general slaughter (some translations say “fierce slaughter”) wherever they are found (33:58-62).

Sahih Bukhari, Volume 4, Book 52, Number 260:
Narrated Ikrima:
Ali burnt some people and this news reached Ibn 'Abbas, who said, "Had I been in his place I would not have burnt them, as the Prophet said, 'Don't punish (anybody) with Allah's Punishment.' No doubt, I would have killed them, for the Prophet said, 'If somebody (a Muslim) discards his religion, kill him.' "

Ishaq:550 “The reason that Allah’s Messenger ordered Abdullash Bin Sarh slain was because he had become a Muslim and used to write down Qur’an Revelation. Then he apostatized (rejected Islam) after becoming suspicious of some verses which prophet changed after his suggestions.”

Ishaq:551 The Messenger ordered Miqyas’ assassination because he became a renegade by rejecting Islam.”

Koran, 9:73 O Prophet! Strive against the disbelievers and the hypocrites! Be harsh with them. Their ultimate abode is hell, a hapless journey's end.
9:74 They swear by Allah that they said nothing (wrong), yet they did say the word of disbelief, and did disbelieve after their Surrender (to Allah). And they purposed that which they could not attain, and they sought revenge only that Allah by His messenger should enrich them of His bounty. If they repent it will be better for them; and if they turn away, Allah will afflict them with a painful doom in the world and the Hereafter, and they have no protecting friend nor helper in the earth.

Tabari VII:97/Ishaq:368 “We carried Ka’b’s head and brought it to Muhammad during the night. We saluted him as he stood praying and told him that we had slain Allah’s enemy. When he came out to us we cast Ashraf’s head before his feet. The Prophet praised Allah that the poet had been assassinated and complimented us on the good work we had done in Allah’s Cause. Our attack upon Allah’s enemy cast terror among the Jews, and there was no Jew in Medina who did not fear for his life.’”Tabari VII:97 “The morning after the murder of Ashraf, the Prophet declared, ‘Kill any Jew who falls under your power.’”

Ishaq:369 “Thereupon Mas’ud leapt upon Sunayna, one of the Jewish merchants with whom his family had social and commercial relations and killed him. The Muslim’s brother complained, saying, ‘Why did you kill him? You have much fat in you belly from his charity.’ Mas’ud answered, ‘By Allah, had Muhammad ordered me to murder you, my brother, I would have cut off your head.’ Wherein the brother said, ‘Any religion that can bring you to this is indeed wonderful!’ And he accepted Islam.”

4. Universal opposition to out-group members and defectors (except for such instances as conversions to the in-group and where there is a clear benefit to the in-group's goals).

The Koran says that Muslims must _____________ the non-Muslims/disbelievers: fight/oppose/shun/strive against/regard as the enemy/never help/never befriend/sever family ties with/never compromise with/never obey/never forgive/chastise/curse/be ruthless toward/be stern toward/etc. 3:118; 3:28, 3:56; 3:87-88, 4:50, 4:63, 4:101, 4:139-140, 4:144, 5:54, 5:57, 8:65, 9:14, 9:23, 9:29, 9:73-74, 9:123, 25:52, 28:86, 31:7, 33:48, 45:7-8, 48:28-29, 53:29, 58:5, 58:22, 60:1, 60:4, 60:10, 60:13, 63:6, 66:9, 68:8-9, 76:24, 84:24.

9:123. “O ye who believe! Fight those of the disbelievers who are near to you, and let them find harshness in you, and know that Allah is with those who keep their duty (unto Him).”

5. Glorification of the Willingness for self-sacrifice simply for the cause of the in-group’s religious or quasi-religious goals (not for physical self-defence or security).

4:66-77. (Believers) slay yourselves in Allah's cause and you will receive a vast reward (Paradise).

Yusuf Ali (4:66): "If We had ordered them to sacrifice their lives or to leave their homes, very few of them would have done it: But if they had done what they were (actually) told, it would have been best for them, and would have gone farthest to strengthen their (faith)..."

4:74 Let those fight in the way of Allah who sell the life of this world for the other. Whoso fighteth in the way of Allah, be he slain or be he victorious, on him We shall bestow a vast reward.
{al-Jalalayn, tafsir: So let them fight in the way of God, to elevate His religion, those who sell the life of this world for the Hereafter; and whoever fights in the way of God and is slain, dies a martyr, or conquers, overcomes his enemy, We shall give him a great wage, a plentiful reward}.

Sahih Bukhari, Volume 1, Book 3, Number 125: Narrated Abu Musa: A man came to the Prophet and asked, "O Allah's Apostle! What kind of fighting is in Allah's cause? (I ask this), for some of us fight because of being enraged and angry and some for the sake of his pride and haughtiness." The Prophet raised his head (as the questioner was standing) and said, "He who fights so that Allah's Word (Islam) should be superior, then he fights in Allah's cause."

Sahih Bukhari, Volume 1, Book 2, Number 35:
Narrated Abu Huraira:
The Prophet said, "The person who participates in (Holy battles) in Allah's cause and nothing compels him to do so except belief in Allah and His Apostles, will be recompensed by Allah either with a reward, or booty (if he survives) or will be admitted to Paradise (if he is killed in the battle as a martyr). Had I not found it difficult for my followers, then I would not remain behind any sariya going for Jihad and I would have loved to be martyred in Allah's cause and then made alive, and then martyred and then made alive, and then again martyred in His cause.”

I have written an article on suicide bombing in Islam, here

Yeah, yeah, and pay the zakat...sounds like a cult to me...

More of Ijaz’s “jazz” about Islam:

Ijaz: “The West would win a lot of hearts and minds if it only showed Islam as it really is”

1. If the west knew about Islam, they’d realize the only way to win hearts and minds of Muslims is by converting to Islam (60:4). 2. Why is it our responsibility to win hearts and minds of people who riot and kill and destroy over cartoons?

Ijaz:“— telling the story, for example, that the prophet Muhammad was one of the great commodity traders of all time because he based his dealings on uniquely Muslim values,”

Problem: Mohammad was a commodity trader before Islam was “revealed.”

Ijaz: “or that the reason he had multiple wives was not for the sake of sex”

LOL! He didn’t just have wives, either; he had slaves. Mohammad was a man who brought out “revelations” concerning the rules for divorcing wives, including for those “wives” who were too young to have menstruated (Koran, 65:4, also see Ibn Kathir, tafsir). It did not occur to Allah to forbid marriage to such under-age females. This is typical of Mohammad’s mentality: A strict rule is applied, but meanwhile a much more important moral rule is violated without comment.

Ijaz:“…but to give proper homes to the children of women made widows during a time of war.”

Ijaz knows no shame. These were predominantly widows and orphans who were created by Islamic banditry and expansionism! “Wars” of aggression, mostly. Several “wars” were raids. Others were imperialistic expeditions launched for the sake of obtaining land, booty, and more women for the Muslim males (there was a severe shortage of females created by the Muslims’ excesses of polygamy), but ostensibly for the sake of Allah—none of which are legitimate reasons for launching wars.

Ijaz: “The cartoon imbroglio offered Western media an opportunity to portray the prophet in his many dignified dimensions,”

What’s Islamically undignified about putting a bomb on the prophet’s head? See above statements from Koran and hadith re self sacrifice and martyrdom. Islamists made the association; the cartoonist merely depicted it.

I will begin to take Ijaz’s and other apologists’ claims seriously when they come out in thousands to protest the real association made between Mohammad and Islamist suicide attacks made every time Muslims decide to blow themselves up along with a higher number of non-Muslims (or those deemed to be disbelievers).

“not just the distorted ones; sadly, there were few takers.”

Nonsense. Just as most media after every terrorist attack bent over backwards to present Islam as a religion that is being distorted, that the majority of muslims are peaceful, etc., most of the media are again engaging in the same pro-Islam/anti-West absurdities viz the cartoon rage. The ordinary non-Muslim citizens see thousands upon thousands of Muslims acting like psycho-killer maniacs, and the MSM (with the help of apologist liars like Ijaz) tells us why it is all the fault of the west, why we need to be more sensitive to murderous fanatics. Apparently, the current climate of strict PC censorship on matters Islamic isn’t good enough for Ijaz.

Muslims laugh and celebrate when non-Muslim civilians are slaughtered in terrorist attacks, and they angrily protest in the thousands in response to cartoons. The priorities of this cult are clear.

"Muhammad was one of the great commodity traders of all time"

Girls, caravans, bit of import/export, insurance...sort of an Arfur Daley of Arabia.

"he based his dealings on uniquely Muslim values"

Like the Constitution of Medina, which guaranteed 20% of the booty to himself.

or that the reason he had multiple wives was not for the sake of sex but to give proper homes to the children of women made widows during a time of war.

Wars that wouldn't have existed if Mo hadn't started them in the first place. Nice one, Ijaz!

When I see Mansoor Ijaz pop up on Fox News, I reach for the remote. Fox has him on because he has given some good performances of being "moderate" and just so mad at that monster OBL and what he did to America. I am not buying it. These latest comments confirm my disbelief in him. He surely is like so many other 'moderate' Muslims, saying one thing in English and another in Urdu, when the mikes are off and/or he is speaking to a all-Muslim audience. Is there a Mrs. Ijaz? If so, how is she dressed and what is her life like, as well as any daughters he might have sired?

EUROPEAN TRAGEDY

All European life died in Auschwitz

By Sebastian Vilar Rodrigez(*)

I walked down the street in Barcelona, and suddenly discovered a terrible truth - Europe died in Auschwitz.

We killed six million Jews and replaced them with 20 million Muslims. In Auschwitz we burned a culture, thought, creativity, and talent. We destroyed the chosen people, truly chosen, because they produced great and wonderful people who changed the world.
The contribution of this people is felt in all areas of life: science, art, international trade, and above all, as the conscience of the world. These are the people we burned.
And under the pretence of tolerance, and because we wanted to prove to ourselves that we were cured of the disease of racism, we opened our gates to 20 million Muslims, who brought us stupidity and ignorance, religious extremism and lack of tolerance, crime and poverty due to an unwillingness to work and support their families with pride.
They have turned our beautiful Spanish cities into the third world,
drowning in filth and crime.
Shut up in the apartments they receive free from the government, they plan the murder and destruction of their naive hosts.
And thus, in our misery, we have exchanged culture for fanatical hatred, creative skill for destructive skill, intelligence for backwardness and superstition. We have exchanged the pursuit of peace of the Jews of Europe
and their talent for hoping for a better future for their children, their determined clinging to life because life is holy, for those who pursue death, for people consumed by the desire for death for themselves and others, for our children and theirs.
What a terrible mistake was made by miserable Europe.
This is a translation of an article from a Spanish newspaper. Please send
this article to as many people as possible, with a request to forward it on.
The truth must be told!

"I walked down the street in Barcelona, and suddenly discovered a terrible truth - Europe died in Auschwitz."

This is the terrible truth I have begun to understand. The damage is already done. The harm has already killed the soul. This is one way to understand the rudderless and foolish behavior of those arrogant souls in Europe -- their misguided arrogance, their stupidity -- their addictions to grandiose and impossible schemes and ill-advised and even fatal policies of cowardice and appeasement -- Perhaps it's all Europe can do -- perhaps they're already dead.

The Second Coming

Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all convictions, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

Surely some revelation is at hand;
Surely the Second Coming is at hand.
The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out
When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi
Troubles my sight: somewhere in sands of the desert
A shape with lion body and the head of a man,
A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,
Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it
Reel shadows of the indignant desert birds.
The darkness drops again; but now I know
That twenty centuries of stony sleep
Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?

From maryrose: "Is there a Mrs. Ijaz? If so, how is she dressed and what is her life like..."

It was mentioned on Fox News that Mansoor Ijaz's wife was "related to" the Saudi Royal family. This was mentioned when Mr. Ijaz was defending the wife of Saudi Prince Bandar who donated to a charity that financed some of the 9-11 suicide bombers. Mr Ijaz said that he was confident that Bandar's wife knew nothing of the charity's payments because of the information learned through his wife's family ties.
