However, I beg of you to take my word for one thing - that India will not work against the West when it comes to confronting the jihad. Governments in UP keep alternating - you have BJP, SP, BJP, SP,... Main problem out there has been the BJP failing to produce a government that delivers, which is why you have Mullah Singh Yadav staging his comebacks. If you get even one BJP government that can deliver, you won't have embarrasments such as this one.
Contrast this with my Left Bengal - un-interrupted power for the comrades since 1979, and who have openly welcomed Bangladeshis in to solidify their vote bank. The ostensibly Hindu part of Bengal is now 40% Muslim.

You have stupid name changes, like Madras to Chennai, Calcutta to Kolkata (something akin to Berlin changing their country's name from changing Germany to Deutschland). Yet the desire of Gujaratis to rename Ahmedabad to Karnavati is ignored. Similarly, no Marathi that I met ever calls Ahmednagar Ahmednagar, they call it Nagar. And why should there be a city named after Aurangzeb - Aurangabad?

Given that the Delhi Diwali bombings last year didn't create a backlash, I wonder what will. While the BJP did the right thing in signalling Advani that he is no longer an automatic choice for PM should the BJP come back to power, problem is they don't look like they can ever come to power on their own.
But I don't fully blame India. Until the West recognizes Islam, rather than al-Qaeda, Hamas or Iran, as the real source of all these threats, India can't be expected to take on Islam alone.
However, if this threat was explicitly stated, it would drive Indian public opinion against Islam. Unfortunately, it took things like 9/11 for Indians to recognize things they should already have known. Sad that we took the slaughter of ~150m infidels in India over a millenium far less seriously. Contrast this with how the Jews treat the loss of 6m of their brethren in the holocaust.
We as hindus need to recognize the limiations of present hindu leadership in India. Democracy handed over millions of hindus on a platter to the islamists in pakistan and bangladesh.
I do not think democracy is equipped to deal with islamonazi terror whether it be in India or rest of the world.
