Hamid Hayat update from AP, with thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist:
SACRAMENTO — The FBI informant who befriended a Lodi man charged with attending an Al Qaeda training camp said Thursday that the defendant took an interest in terrorist groups and spoke admiringly about jihad.A federal prosecutor asked the informant, Naseem Khan, how defendant Hamid Hayat saw himself in relation to the Taliban, Al Qaeda and other such groups.
"He never, ever considered himself American," said Khan, who was on the witness stand during the fourth day of testimony in Hayat's terrorism trial in U.S. District Court.
During long conversations at Hayat's home, Khan said, Hayat praised Al Qaeda, expressed support for religious governments in Pakistan and Afghanistan and talked about issues surrounding jihad.
Hayat, 23, is charged with three counts of making false statements to the FBI about attending an Al Qaeda camp in Pakistan in 2003 and with providing material support to terrorists. He faces up to 39 years in prison if convicted. His father, 48-year-old Umer Hayat, faces two counts of making false statements to the FBI about whether his son attended the camp. Both have pleaded not guilty.
"He never, ever considered himself American," said Khan, who was on the witness stand during the fourth day of testimony in Hayat's terrorism trial in U.S. District Court. "
Hey, that qualifies him to be in charge of security at the ports!
BTW, we MUST cut costs; let's downsize the Coast Gaurd, cut funding for ship maintainance, and change the currently required 24 hour notice for incoming ships to US ports (previously 72 hours)down to thirty seconds, and of course cooperate with Homeland Security -- "to the extent possible."
Don't worry! It's for your own safety! Dole! Push this idea --- you're hired!
Did everyone see the Vatican has finally woken up?
Vatican to Muslims - Practise what you preach

Snip:
Vatican prelates have been concerned by recent killings of two Catholic priests in Turkey and Nigeria. Turkish media linked the death there to the cartoons row. At least 146 Christians and Muslims have died in five days of religious riots in Nigeria.
"If we tell our people they have no right to offend, we have to tell the others they have no right to destroy us," Cardinal Angelo Sodano, the Vatican's Secretary of State (prime minister), told journalists in Rome.
"We must always stress our demand for reciprocity in political contacts with authorities in Islamic countries and, even more, in cultural contacts," Foreign Minister Archbishop Giovanni Lajolo told the daily Corriere della Sera.
Reciprocity -- allowing Christian minorities the same rights as Muslims generally have in Western countries, such as building houses of worship or practising religion freely -- is at the heart of Vatican diplomacy towards Muslim states.
Vatican diplomats argue that limits on Christians in some Islamic countries are far harsher than restrictions in the West that Muslims decry, such as France's ban on headscarves in state schools.
Saudi Arabia bans all public expression of any non-Muslim religion and sometimes arrests Christians even for worshipping privately. Pakistan allows churches to operate but its Islamic laws effectively deprive Christians of many rights.
Both countries are often criticised at the United Nations Human Rights Commission for violating religious freedoms.
"ENOUGH TURNING THE OTHER CHEEK"
Pope Benedict signalled his concern on Monday when he told the new Moroccan ambassador to the Vatican that peace can only be assured by "respect for the religious convictions and practices of others, in a reciprocal way in all societies".
He mentioned no countries by name. Morocco is tolerant of other religions, but like all Muslim countries frowns on conversion from Islam to another faith.
Iraqi Christians say they were well treated under Saddam Hussein's secular policies, but believers have been killed, churches burnt and women forced to wear Muslim garb since Islamic groups gained sway after the U.S.-led invasion in 2003.
Christians make up only a tiny fraction of the population in most Muslim countries. War and political pressure in recent decades have forced many to emigrate from Middle Eastern communities dating back to just after the time of Jesus.
As often happens at the Vatican, lower-level officials have been more outspoken than the Pope and his main aides.
"Enough now with this turning the other cheek! It's our duty to protect ourselves," Monsignor Velasio De Paolis, secretary of the Vatican's supreme court, thundered in the daily La Stampa. Jesus told his followers to "turn the other cheek" when struck.
"The West has had relations with the Arab countries for half a century, mostly for oil, and has not been able to get the slightest concession on human rights," he said.
Bishop Rino Fisichella, head of one of the Roman universities that train young priests from around the world, told Corriere della Sera the Vatican should speak out more.
"Let's drop this diplomatic silence," said the rector of the Pontifical Lateran University. "We should put pressure on international organisations to make the societies and states in majority Muslim countries face up to their responsibilities."
A more than a little OT, but this article is in fact related to Port Issue. Do you want people in charge of our Ports that are loyal only to fanatical faith? I can't believe the short sightness of some Americans. The UAE will never be our ally, because they think they are above us. We are the Infidel and most be converted or destroyed. They only fear our military power and our helping us because it’s in their best economic interest.
Every honest Muslim must talk about the "struggle".
Jihad is their "divine" and "noble" calling.
Mohammad their "holy" warlord.
The Koran their Mein Kampf.
The FBI informant is one more reason why I'm not for deporting them all.
However, re some of the comments on Saudi travellers reported by Archduke and others--
To the Saudis, both royal and royal-ette,
Someone once donated a toilet.
Yet the Saud void their bowels
On heaps of old towels,
They are so reluctant to soil it!
If talk of Jihad is a crime, and it is indeed a felony crime, then why aren't we sweeping the nation every Friday afternoon with mass arrests?
WE SHOULD CONGRATULATE AND SUPPORT ANYONE LIKE KHAN , (I assume he or she is a muslim from the Lodi Mosque), THAT WILL COME OUT IN OPEN COURT AND TESTIFY TO THE ANTI-AMERICAN TERRORISTIC AIMS OF OTHER MEMBERS. He/she should be nominated for a Jihad Watch award. This is the sort of thing that we will need to stop terror in our borders. We need more muslims in the US to step up to the plate like Khan.
LA Sheriff Lee Baca has attempted to rally muslims in the LA area by securing cooperation with a muslim american group (something like the MARC). We will see how that goes. Even with the PC police that think they run the american system today, a dose of human bombings, Russian style school slaughters, and violence against Christians and churches would relgate the PC group to a shrill vocal minority. U.S. Muslims would find themselves in a difficult position. One only needs to remember the wave of patriotic expression that swept the country after 9-11.
Naseem Khan, presumably an American of Pakistani descent who considers himself a Muslim, helped to bring these would-be Muslim terrorists to justice:
"A federal prosecutor asked the informant, Naseem Khan, how defendant Hamid Hayat saw himself in relation to the Taliban, Al Qaeda and other such groups.
"He never, ever considered himself American," said Khan, who was on the witness stand during the fourth day of testimony in Hayat's terrorism trial in U.S. District Court.
During long conversations at Hayat's home, Khan said, Hayat praised Al Qaeda, expressed support for religious governments in Pakistan and Afghanistan and talked about issues surrounding jihad."
He is of course to be made much of by all those Muslim groups that claim to represent "decent" Muslims, "law-abiding" Muslims, Muslims who wish America "well" and are "loyal" to it.
In that case, those organizations, such as CAIR, should have every reason to make much of, to declare a Muslim hero and a model for all Muslims in America, Naseem Khan for working with the government and helping to capture these Muslim would-be terrorists.
Isn't that exactly what all Muslims in America should want to do, and should be doing? And shouldn't CAIR be celebrating this man, and urging Muslims all over America to join in such celebration, and in teaching their children to behave just like Naseem Khan?
Or won't they?
And if they won't, then we will draw our own conclusions.
I have to ask WHY Kahn turned in this traitor? Was it out of patriotism or maybe reward money or a personal vendetta? I would hope more people would be like him. But somehow i doubt that will happen. But ya never know..........
Was this our Naseem? I always thought Naseem was Fitzpatrick in drag. Could still be, though. Anybody who studied Russian history is a candidate for the CIA, and working for The Company sooner or later involves wet work.
Way to go, Slothrop. Good job. Er, do you also use the pseudonym Alexandra Paris?
APF:
"Our Naseem" is a middle-aged woman living in or near Lahore, Pakistan, not Lodi, California.
While it seems the Naseem Khans are few and far between and what motivates them to rat out terrorists, we should acknowlege them and applaud them and hold them out as exemplorary citizens to organizations like CAIR.

Once a Muslim, always a Muslim
Abu Daoud: No Regrets for Munich Olympics
"He never, ever considered himself American," said Khan.
That is no surprise. Muslims consider themselves to belong to only one nation - the ummah.
APF posted: Was this our Naseem? I always thought Naseem was Fitzpatrick in drag.
You dont say!.
I can't be the only poster who realized that something happened to this comment site at about 9pm last night. Everything froze. Some threads are still frozen, part way into someone's comments. I've read the comments at several still working threads and noone has commented about it. Is something going on? And will someone bother to comment on it?
Robert now knows. Thank you.
Naseem Khan, presumably an American of Pakistani descent who considers himself a Muslim, helped to bring these would-be Muslim terrorists to justice:
If Kahn is a ture Muslim, then he has much to fear from his fellow Muslims for they will murder him for turning in a fellow Muslim.
If only another 200 to 300 thousand muslims would do the same thing.
The war with Islam is inevitable.
Prepare be armed be ready.
The Texican.
Freedom. The only choice at any cost.
I don't believe our Naseem is one person, or even a woman. Her posts are too "uneven", "she swings from bad english to very good english. and from "moderate" views to "more hard-line" stuff. Others have commented on this before. I think she is a Muslim Troll. Perhaps part of the: Devinely Appointed Commitee for the Electronic Jihad. Don't laugh, these fools have, and operate, these types of organizations.

This week, Islamicist hackers have been aiming their viruses and denial of serivice attacks at Danish website and anti-jihad sites.
JW/DW are likely goals of their infiltrating codework as they try to over-write it with grafitti, clog its comments sections, or shut the site down entirely.
Do a search on it -the average Danes are really being hit hard on their webpages, blogs, et al.
Security, in ports or online pages, is crucial.

Caroline-- I figured Robert would already have 700-odd emails about the site not working. Amazingly, everyone else must have thought the same thing and not said anything either.
