NEW DELHI — An alleged conduit of the banned militant outfit Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) was arrested with a large quantity of explosives and hawala cash from south Delhi, police said yesterday.Acting on a tip-off from an intelligence agency, the special cell of the Delhi Police apprehended Nasir Safi Mir, a Dubai-based conduit of the Hizbul outfit from Defence Colony Friday evening. Abut 2kg of RDX, a timer, a detonator, one pistol, six live cartridges and Rs5.5 million was seized from Mir, who is a resident of Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir.
“Mir has been involved in a number of cases of routing funds through hawala channels and supplying explosives to the banned terrorist outfit for carrying out operations," said Ajay Kumar, deputy commissioner of police (special cell).
"After sustained interrogation, Mir revealed that he also had close links to Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, chief of the Hurriyat Conference," Kumar told reporters.

Seems, 2 'mainstream' muzlim politicans in kashmir were running/aiding terror networks from right inside the Srinagar secretariat building (that part of srinagar, kashmir's state capital is like baghdad's green zone - fortified against jihad on the outside).
these worthies had direct ties to the lashkar-e-toiba, easily the worst jihadi sunni group in south asia. To their credit the LeT regulalry targets apostates and infidels, mainly shias and ahmediyas in their mosques in pakistan.
Now it seems the LeT isspreading tentacles in Delhi. I wont be too surprised to see kashmiri 'mainstream' politicians involved in a support network for these turds in Delhi either.

The cavalcade of Hurriyat leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was stoned on Sunday while he was on his way to address a rally in a town in Jammu and Kashmir bordering Pakistan.
Official sources said a group of Shiv Sena members threw stones at the cavalcade while Farooq was travelling to Sambah, 40 km southwest of here. No one was injured in the incident.
Farooq, chairman of the All Party Hurriyat Conference, is currently touring the Hindu-dominated Jammu region to help build bridges between the area and the Muslim-majority Kashmir Valley.
The move is part of his efforts to find a lasting solution to the Kashmir problem that will involve the people of the valley, Jammu and the Buddhist-dominated Ladakh region.

Translation: The move is part of his efforts to convince Hindus in Jammu and Buddhists in Ladakh to endorse secession, and embrace Shariat rule in the Valley. (Article 370 obviously ain't enough)
In the India Today 2 weeks ago, there was an article of how Hizbul Mujahideen has started recruiting Hindus. While people have legitimate reservations about the Shiv Sena, it's groups like that which are needed to prevent any Hindus from joining the Jihad. If they need employment in militant activity, they should join groups like the Shiv Sena, Bajrang Dal and any other non-Muslim group trying to keep infidels safe by taking the fight to the enemy.
As for LeT, things were going fine until the Prevention of Terrorism Act (POTA) was lifted by the current government. Luckily for them, the LeT attempt on Ayodhya last July was thrashed, but even a secular regime like the Congress needs to put India's security above its hatred of the BJP and its being in bed with the Mohammedan vote.
Sadly, it looks like it would take a major successful terrorist attack within India, outside J&K to bring any sanity to these punks. Apparantly, last year's Delhi blasts weren't enough.

I'm sad to see so little traction in the thread and among the posters in stories like this about the Jihad in India -- Of course, perhaps there would have been more posts had Hamas not won their great "victory" in the territories, and this insane cartoon matter not spun out of control so dramatically. But the Indian nation has nearly always seemed like a perfect natural ally for the US to me, even despite the communist silliness they've engaged in over the years...
Right now, we need to bridge the gap between our cultures and unite, since we are both the targets of the Great Islamic Jihad... India's assistance would be fantastic, especially given her proximity to Malaysia, Indonesia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Iran, and the other Stans...

Granted that the US and India had their differences during the Cold War. But after 9/11, India was one of the first countries to offer the US military bases with which to strike Afghanistan. Remember that in 1999 Christmas, India had been humiliated by the Taliban by being forced to free 5 Jihadis in exchange for a hijacked plane, in which one of the passengers were murdered. However, instead of reciprocating, the US not only made Pakistan an ally (going to ridiculous lengths such as Colin Powell agreeing with Gen Musharraf on the "Moderate Taliban") but also snubbed India by pressurizing India into improving relations with Pakistan. India of course paid back by backing Saddam in the run-up to the war.
But I agree with you - both countries need to get real about the threat of Islam. I don't see that happening with either of the current governments - George "Noble Religion" Bush or the Congress-Communist alliance in India.

Rather than concentrating on stories which emphasize our differences with India or other nations I would prefer to see us making common ground whenever and wherever possible against Islamic Jihad. Of course, I would exempt France from this formulation since she has been the consistent weak link threatening the security and viability of the West for the last century... and was the breeding ground of the worst calamities visited on the Western world for over 2 centuries.
I'm not sure what to do about France, but it is safest to keep her definitively out of Western security measures. We can only expect her betrayal and capitulation.
