The Russians have a solid premise: You need a fake government to be able to deal with a fake people.

All the Russians are saying that is that if in this situation you can't accept fakery then you can't deal.

When are our politicians going to learn to quit fueling the fire?

Russia is positioning itself in the ME in order to carve it's own slice of the pie.
While they are saying military action may be the only option, I's not stopping them from dangling the carrot in front of Iran's Mullahs one more time to be it's nuclear watchdog, supplier of fission material, and of course make money doing it.
This seriously hampers Iran's vision of itself being the supreme ruler of the entire ME one day. If this is "offer" destroys that dream, it's likely Iran will reject it.

This opens a door for Russia regardless. Who would be able to destroy Iran's nuclear facilities while causing the least international unrest? Russia.
It's not beyond reason that the USA and Russia could come to an agreement giving Russia a large piece of the Iranian pie as reward, and Russia in turn could appease China and prevent them from doing something stupid by establishing a reliable oil line through Russian territory to China from Iran.
This also gives Russia much leverage over Europe, control of the oil it depends on. Having Europe under it's thumb is something long desired by Russia.

This takes much of the pressure off the USA, while fully capable of making quick end to Iran's mad mullah's sinister plans, a coalition effort between Russia and the USA would be seen in a positive light. Iran is but a bug to be crushed, it's carcass divided up.

There wouldn't be much objection from the Sunni's and the Saudi's who fear a powerful Shia war machine on their doorstep. They know full well what Iran's ambitions are.

But Russia stands to gain either way. A temporary "agreement" with Iran they know wouldn't last very long, just long enough for the mad Mullahs to gain enough power to proceed with their plans.
Wiping out the Mullah Mafia once and for all is of better benefit for Russia in the long run, although Europe may not think so, other than it removing a nuclear armed Islamic lunatic from their doorstep.

The Palestinians' electing of the militant Islamic terrorism organization HAMAS to their government is proof positive that there is NO being nice to these people. Since the US government's position is supposed to be NO NEGOTIATING WITH TERRORISTS eliminating Palestine from any potential US aid is in line with our policy. Seeing that we now have a record budget deficit this wouldn't be a bad opportunity for us to put our money (or rather save our money) where our mouth is and get busy reducing that deficit by redistributing funds saved by NOT going to the terrorists and their new 'government'.

Denisov is clearly wrong. Eliminating Palestine as a candidate for potential aid is NOT counter-productive for the US taxpayer (does anyone outside America know they exist?).

As far as Russia is concerned, it has colluded with terrorists in the past as Claire Sterling's book "Network of Terror" exposed. The Russians just seem to think we're stupid (which sometimes we are). Old habits die hard. We may just have to eliminate any commerce with the Russians too in order to get them to cut this out (if we can).

No one should be providing logistical support for international terrorism, Islamic or otherwise (most of it IS Islamic however).

Oh yes the lives of Slavs went very cheap together with their land - is not U.S pushing at this very moment to give what was once Christian Slav Kosovo to their Albanian Muslim friends? Actually that was the Clinton admins doing, And it was against the better advise of the Russians. In fact Clinton came very close to starting WW4 with the Russians over the whole Balkans issue. In short, Clinton bombed the wrong side over false claims of a genocide that never existed. Clinton also has friends in high places in Yugoslavia, one only has to look back tow ho was Clinton's school pal to figure out who they are.

You are correct about the presence of Arab Wahabbis in the region, they have been running training camps right under the noses of the UN, periodically attacking the Serbs who are basically fenced in and "protected" by the UN peace keepers, while the Albanian muslims go about "cleansing the land of the historical orthodoxy, looting and burning churches to the ground, bulldozing them, using some as public urinals and desecrating graveyards.

Where are the protests?

Your analogy to the Crusades is a bit wrong however. They were of a defensive nature, the 3 petitioned by the pope were only to retake the holy lands captured by Muhammadan crusades, only 2 of these three made it to their destination, the third never made it past Greece. None were wholly successful. The Pope also made it clear the Jews were not to be harmed.

The Crusades were lead by Kings and overlords, not by the Church. If you can imagine, these armies moved slowly and "on their bellies", meaning they lived and died along the way, like slowly moving cities, raising livestock, families, training new solders as others were killed or retired, died of old age. Of course they were not perfect, anyone resisting their advance were swallowed up, there were disputes among the various overlords, who all went on these crusades for one main reason, to improve their fortunes.

The Byzantine empire was destroyed by the Muhammadans, actually they put up little fight because they became weak from within, much like the Roman empire did, (and America and western civilization is) before the Muhammadans even got there. They were already taken over and those not murdered outright were being converted to Islam before the first crusade even arrived.

Of course this is only a rough description and is full of slight error. It takes a lot of reading to fully understand what went on during that period, the infighting, betrayals, victories and defeats.
All in all, the two main crusades were only mildly successful, the third fizzled out. There were later crusades of course, but they were never petitioned for by the Church, and like all crusades, wrongly labeled "Christian Crusades".
None of the actual participants carried a pocket bible around with them.
Later, it was only resistance to Muhammadan invasions which halted their advances, and local offenses in places like Spain, southern France, and other fringes of Europe that expelled the Muhammadans.

In fact, if it wasn't for Ghingis Khan, who really laid a severe beating on the Muhammadans, they may well have succeeded in overtaking all of western Europe, and the west may never have been born.

Again, it takes a writer, like Robert and hugh to take all the information and put it into a readable form that follows a timeline.

Jihad Watch is a great site, but the word needs to be spread across America.
