Its just an excuse to pick a fight with the Buddhists so that eventually the Muslims can committ another ethnic cleansing of Kashmir like they did with the Hindus in the Kashmir Valley.

What really gets me is that the Muslims had no probs with blowing up the ancient Buddhists statues in Afghanistan (the tallest stand Buddhists statues in the world), but some pages of the koran go flying around and they have a seizure.

It was bound to happen sooner or later, but the Buddhists in India should stand up and bring this to everyone's attention before another ethnic cleansing takes place and this time in Leh which is most of the land (by size) of Kashmir and is dominantly Buddhist.

What about the Gujarat massacres? It's no secret that the hindus have been pushing their muslim counterparts out of India since the creation of Pakistan. Hindus, like Christians now in American, seem to be intolerant of religious diversity and don't believe you can be "indian" and "muslim".

It seems interesting that everyone here, at a site created by a self-professed devout catholic, talk about religion without ever applying it. Say what you will about the muslims, but I haven't seen anything here either that makes me think your religion is one bit better. Try putting your own beliefs in practice.

This site, true, is called "jihadwatch". Won't you all be so terribly disappointed if your muslim neighbor living next door doesn't turn out to be the hidden suicidal rug-thumping monster you hope they are secretly? And by the way, anyone who thinks Islam is a peaceful religion hasn't read the Koran. The Koran frequently uses the phrase, "Kill them wherever you find them." Also is the fact that all of the cartoon protestors are going around chanting, "Death to Denmark" and "Death to Israel" and "Death" to a wide range of groups. Peaceful my foot.

Yes, read the full Qur'an and not some sanitized abridgement like that concocted by Michael Sells and foisted on unsuspecting freshen. Read the Qur'an with a commentary and notes, and be aware of the doctrine of "naskh" or abrogation, and how it applies. More on this can be found in Ibn Warraq's "Why I Am Not a Muslim" and on many of the websites run by the growing number of articulate ex-Muslims.

And of course read as well, on-line if you wish (www.usc.edu), as many of the "authentic" Hadith, collected and rated by such muhaddithin as Bukhari and Muslim (the two most authoritative of the six recognized collections), and read the Sira, the biography of Muhammad, either in one of the versions Muslims read, or in any of the versions by Western scholars, such as that of Sir William Muir, or Tor Andrae, or Arthur Jeffery.

The Qur'an alone is not enough. One needs to make sense of it, and understand how Muslims resolve those internal contradictions, and what meaning Muslims assign to certain passages that may, on the face of it, seem not merely unthreatening at all. And along with the Qur'an, one cannot begin to make sense of things without the Sunna, which consists of the life, the sayings, the acts (and even the silences) of Muhammad, that tease out the meaning of the Qur'an, and that add important guides for the Total Regulation of Life.

Muslim groups will happily mail you a Qur'an. They will be most unhappy if you read, and study, and digest, the Hadith and the Sira. They know that until they have won you over, the effect of those is potentially too damaging to the cause, and image, of Islam. That's why you won't hear them mentioning Hadith and Sira very often. And that's why you should study the life of Muhammad, and remember that he is a Model for all Mankind, and think clearly about how he differs, say, from the figure of Jesus or Gautama Buddha. Those differences are not hard to spot.

Speaking of India, I spent a month in Ladakh back in 1989. Even then, before the start of the current unrest in Kashmir, the Muslim Kashmiris had a reputation for bullying the Ladakhi Buddhists, who they considered to be devil worshipers. They harassed the Buddhists even though they were a small minority in Ladakh and the reason they could get away with it was because they controlled the trade into the Ladakh valley, which had to pass through Kashmir to get there. Awfully charitable of your brothers, no?

A question to those who defend the Hindus and those who blame them for the tensions within India. How many Jews live in India or Pakistan today or Kashmir or Burma or Sudan(lots of Sudanese delis I'm told), or Denmark(5 thousand or 6 thousand)? I don't get it. Islmo-taquiyya again. What is labelled as "Kashmir" on the map actually consists of 3 distinct regions. Ladakh is a Buddhist area whose culture is entirely distinct from Kashmir valley. Jammu is Hindu majority area while Kashmir valley which was just 58% Muslim in 1947 is now 99% Muslim thanks to "separatist rebels" who've driven out over a million Hindus.

In a way religion is kind of like a computer program ~ you plug into it and you follow a set of rules to play the game. This game though is specifically designed for those who need a God ~ and the meaning in their life connected to it.

India has a small Jewish population in the SW state of Kerala, and is justifiably proud of the fact that they were one of the few Jewish groups in the world that were never persecuted. I still remember my child days, when we were taught that every religion is equal and no religion teaches hatred and we all are brothers. that was true for every religion but ISLAM, all you guys are fanatic is Quran and all Quran teaches is hatred, killings and raping.

I dont say India doesnt have problems, but I am proud to say we dont have big problems like Islam. We have caste system, which is fading out but we dont fight and die because of religion.

Gujrat is a one case of retaliation post independence, may be another one is bombay. But now west can clearly see if 140 millions of these screwed up ppl are living in India who are so fanatic, who can burn a train full of pilgrims then there is some section which is goind to retaliate.
