From the Khaleej Times:
DUBAI — The Rt. Honourable Lord Ahmed of Rotherham, Member of the British House of Lords, has vehemently criticised Western double standards in dealing with the Muslim world, saying that western intervention was always selective and self-seeking...He also drew attention to the chaos and disorder that mark present day Afghanistan. "I am not a fan of the Taleban. When they ruled, there was order in 90 per cent of Afghanistan. They eliminated heroine crops from the country. But what is the scene today?" he wondered.
He said it was indeed hypocritic to go ballistic against Iran's nuclear experiments while wholeheartedly supporting Israel which sits on a massive atomic arsenal, posing a bigger threat to the security of the region. When Saddam Hussein is demonised, justifiably so, for his cruelties, Ariel Sharon is hailed as a man of peace, forgetting the macabre bloodshed of Sabra-Shatilla, he added...
If war is indeed a moral struggle, then are those who propose moral equivalency between the two sides traitors? Are they not seeking, ideologically, to disarm the west? It is a question I believe we will be forced to answer eventually.
Lord prissy assed Ahmed considers rule under the Taliban better, than what.. women's head blown off for teaching girls? maybe he should stay over inthe Middle East for his peace of mind.. the blow heart!
This peer of the realm is definitely taking the piss. As if the Muslim world has not been self-seeking. Of course it still is, and would be more so were it more powerful. Islam teaches its followers to seek the good of the Ummah at all costs.
If anything, the West has not been self-seeking enough. Aid to Muslim countries has just strengthened Islam, which is against Western interests. And there is the jizya in the form of welfare payments to Muslims living in the West, giving them leisure to learn about the true Islam, and enabling them to reproduce at higher rates than other groups. None of this is in Western interests.
The West should be more self-seeking, not less.
Suggestion to British readers: This "Lord" Ahmed (I wonder how Allah feels about that title) has probably made enough sufficiently foolish and treasonous statements on the public record that, if one were so inclined, one could put together a pretty devastating opinion-piece to be submitted for publication in one of the British papers?
Lord prissy assed Ahmed...
As it's a peer we're talking about, pissy-arsed would be more apt.
And we're not talking about Brighton pier, haunt of many a "co-respondent" of the old kind. (Judge: Did you sleep with the defendant? Co-respondent: Not a wink, your honour.)
Well, that's Blairite politics for you: Make an Islamist a peer and elevate him to a status that is beyond criticism (i.e. a Lord). Also give him a chance to decide on policies (and that's what the Lords can do in some cases, afaik)
The islamification of Great Britain has reached a very worrying level indeed. Sir Iqbal und Lord Ahmed. I wonder what Sir Winston would make of that... Sometimes I really wish reincarnation were a reality. We need you, Winnie!
This guy is an example of either an exploitive Islamic infiltration or a perfect example of the "Humanistic" world-view.
Don't be suckered by the surface-level statements and rhetoric of the "Humanists", what we have here is how it is expressed from a deeper level, and that is where the pseudo-objectivity of so-called Humanism is exposed. It is RAMPANT, aaaaannnd, it uses PSCHOLOGY IS A MEANS TO AN END.
Always watch for references to feelings, it's a red-flag.
They wish to DICTATE upon society(and the world) how and what we should think, feel and live(aka being appropriate), they wish to be the managers of the Brave New World. They wish to be our Messiahs, and "save" us from ourselves. They deny reality and believe they can create it, all they have to do is view the world or nation as their labratory and have access to the institutions and presto! The New Humanist Society. AKA The Coercive Politically Correct Society.
It's not a "conspiracy" in the conventional sense, it's just a conspiracy of IDEAS and those ideas lead one to those positions of influence and power. Of course the Pragmatic elitist world thinks it's a great idea, willing slaves( information restricted, choice eliminated, virtual-reality propagated)is the ultimate dream of those above-it-all.
But it might come crashing down on them thanks to the muslims.
The moral differences between our two Ideologies are clear to those who understand them. This is what jihadwatch is all about in exposing what Islam represents compared to the freedoms we enjoy in the western world.
This is why we defended ourselves as we did from the fascist Naziss',the Emperialist Japanese Empire, and the threats from the former Communist Soviet Union.
There would not be a double standard if we all shared the same values.
For those who cannot understand or refuse to grasp the clear differences between these ideologies like the pandering fool that a Cindy Sheehan and her ilk are. Let us hope that the majority of Americans see the differences and stand up with determined resolve to defend those freedoms that we cherish from the totalitarian Ideology that is fundamental Islam.
There can be no moral equivalency between conflicting ideologies. Understanding what you are defending is paramount to our survival.
Hundreds of thousand of men and women have died defending our freedoms from the ravages of tyranny because they clearly understood the fifferences.
"Know your enemy and know him well"
General Douglas MacArthur
"When Saddam Hussein is demonised, justifiably so, for his cruelties, Ariel Sharon is hailed as a man of peace, forgetting the macabre bloodshed of Sabra-Shatilla, he added"
When you cut through all the BS, its always about the Jews. This "lord" seems to forget the the bloodshed of Sabra-Shatilla was the fault of Arabs, not Israelis. But in any event, the fact that this guy can't tell the difference between someone like Saddam Hussein, who murders his own citizens, and Ariel Sharon, who tries to prevent the murder of his citizens, speaks volumes about absence of any ethical underpinnings in this guys rant.
How did an Ahmed become a Lord?! I think the UK is officially part of Eurabia---there is no hope for the Brits.
This isn't the first time Lord Ahmed has blotted his copybook. From The Times, back in April 2005:
When they ruled, there was order in 90 per cent of Afghanistan.
And Mussolini made the trains run on time.
When they ruled, there was order in 90 per cent of Afghanistan.
And Mussolini made the trains run on time.
And Hitler built wonderful roads.
"I am not a fan of the Taleban. When they ruled, there was order in 90 per cent of Afghanistan. They eliminated heroine crops from the country. But what is the scene today?" he wondered.
If everyone was in prison, there would be order in 100%. Ah, he can dream can't he?
Oh there's a double standard all right.
A demonstration against the fox hunting Bill, outside Parliament:
Instantly, the police responded with a flail of truncheons. For a moment, they resembled beaters driving birds towards guns. They were scenes more associated with the clash of police and shaven-headed football hooligans or dreadlocked anti-capitalist demonstrators rather than men in flat caps and women in quilted waistcoats.
In a flurry of violence, people were hurt by the impact of truncheons and by the crush of people pushing forward to join the pre-planned sitdown. Archie Norman, the Conservative MP, who had come out to watch the mayhem, was almost hit by a bottle that smashed beside him. Mr Jukes condemned the behaviour of the police officers. "I can't believe it happened - there was no reason for it at all," he said.
"There was a bit of a surge and they only needed to say, 'Steady on lads', but instead they started hitting everyone. "I even saw old men with their heads split open. "There were all these young policemen having fun with their truncheons, waving them over their heads before flashing them down on ours." One of the older protesters injured in the melee was Simon Harrap, the Master of the Hampshire, who said: "It was incredibly heavy-handed."
"We're decent, respectable people and we don't deserve the riot squad treatment," David Jukes, 45, the Master of the Zetland Hunt in North Yorkshire, said as he mopped a bloodied brow.
Standing beneath the stern gaze of the statue of Oliver Cromwell, William Hudson, 27, from Hampshire, had blood from a head wound all over his green T-shirt.
"I saw them hitting the person behind me, they did not seem concerned whether people were trying to go forward or back, everyone was getting crushed, it was very frightening. There is no point hitting people on the head. Why could they not hit our bodies?"
Now fast forward to 3 February 2006:
An Association of Chief Police Officers spokesman said that the protests did not yet represent a serious threat to public order. A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "Arrests, if necessary, will be made at the most appropriate time. This should not be taken as a sign of lack of action."
Scotland Yard says a decision not to arrest protesters was taken because of public order fears. It confirmed that police had received more than 100 complaints from the public about the protesters' behaviour.
Yesterday, more than 1,000 demonstrators staged a second protest outside the embassy. The only arrests made were of two men found carrying cartoons of Mohammed. Police said they had been detained "to prevent a breach of the peace". A man dressed as a suicide bomber, however, was left unhindered, while the police sought to prevent photographers taking pictures.
Rt. Honourable Lord Ahmed of Rotherham, Member of the British House of Lords -- Well there is your 5th column! Keep putting your Ahmed's into political office and the laws will continue to change in their favor. Goodbye my fair Lads and Lassies......
one of the protesters dressed as a suicide bomber just to see what would happen.
he wasnt arrested.
http://www.express.co.uk/
in the fact, the police tried to STOP photographers taking pictures of him.
Unfortunately, us hapless souls who are stuck in Not-Very-Great Britain are ruled by a bunch of poncey lefties who care more about the rights of foxes than Jihad on our doorsteps. Lord Ahmed's poisonous gob-offal shows how welded the Establishment is to his backside. As if putting a token Muslim in the Lords was going to keep the Umma quiet...
If so called Lord Ahmed, and his muslim followers leave Europe, then there will be order in all European countires. Why do these bastards condemn the very countries that they are allowed to live in.
El Baradei himself has made a similar moral equivalency argument -- this Muslim -- this Arab -- this functionary in whom the world has placed its trust to prevent the proliferation of nuclear technology and WMD -- this man who has presided over the worst era of nuclear proliferation that has ever ocurred
(slightly OT, but how interesting ! -- most of the worst proliferation has happened in Muslim lands -- go figure ! -- Why? Why has this never been questioned or mentioned in the Press? Why doesn't this clearly incompetent (or worse, utterly corrupt and complicit) UN functionary still in his post after these long years of abject failure????)
Anyway -- there if footage out there someplace -- I have seen it -- of Mr. El Baradei suggesting that it isn't "fair" for countries such as the US to have nuclear weapons, while maintaining that countries such as Iran deserve no such weapons -- and this is the man the "world body" of the UN has put in charge of the organization whose goal is supposedly non-proliferation of nukes...
The world is sick. The minds of the humans of the world are sick. The insanity of our world is staggering....
Infidel Muslim terrorists have become "Lords" in the UK. Muslim apologists, and moral relativists have become the "watchdogs" supposedly protecting the law abiding nations of the earth from the actions of Islamic terrorists... Upside down. Crazy. Insane.
Doomed?
BTW -- I'd like to find the interview Mr. ElBaradei gave where he stated that it wasn't fair to forbid nations such as Iran from having nukes while others did...
Has anyone else seen this footage? I've searched unsuccessfully on the web for it... but I did find this moral equivalency quote from this filthy Muslim:
"ElBaradei said it was unsustainable that some countries had nuclear weapons and others did not. “As long as you continue to have countries dangling a cigarette from their mouth, you cannot tell everybody not to smoke with a high degree of credibility,” ElBaradei said."
That's just a taste of his attitudes -- We're in deep doodoo-- It seems that there's a direct correlation between the presence of Muslims such as "Lord Ahmed" and Elbaradei in positions of power, the undermining of Western resolve in repelling world fascism, and especially Islamic world fascism, and the strengthening of Islamic world fascism...
And never forget that the advent of nukes in North Korea is directly related to the Pakistanin/AQ Khan nuclear supermarket debacle...
Perhaps we should consider the notion that Muslims must NEVER be trusted in positions of power... The consequences of their failures and treacheries, and the ensuing calamities which may and have ocurred under their tender attentions are simply incalculable to us...
All I have to say to my Muslim brothers (APWZ) is why did we not see the same type of rioting in the west why our brothers took over the Church of the Nativity and tore it apart. We weweed and popooed all over and no one protested.
Do we treat their religion, Christianity and Judiasm the same tolerant way? I propose that you show them by examples on peace and understanding that Islam is a religion of peace. Because if we keep rioting the way it is happening now then the west will have been right about us all along.
Yhanks you and may peace be upon you.
Lord Haw-Haw redux, eh?
I'm sure that traitor's cell is still handy.
Scumbag logic at its finest from this Quisling, in the tone of:
"Now, I didn't support Hitler, but Germany was certainty much cleaner under Third Reich than it is now, with all of those intolerable candy wrappers blowing down the streets of Munich and Berlin..."
So, extermination is fine if it gets you "order".
Mekoots-
Nice to hear your comments. However, I fear that there are too few people on your side who will listen.
"Mekoots- Nice to hear your comments. However, I fear that there are too few people on your side who will listen."
Not only that -- as long as Muslims such as "Mekoots"are spending their time worrying about the mere "image" of Islam, as long as Muslims such as "Mekoots" spends his time preaching to this very safe secure choir rather than confronting his ugly Pig Monster Muslim cousins who are rampaging, burning, beheading, slaughtering for demented Muslim "honor", pinching off clitorises with pliers or slicing them off with shards of broken glass, taking children hostage on their first day of school, bombing cafes, bombing families, flying planes into skyscrapers, sawing off the heads of contractors trying to rebuild Iraq, murdering, calling for murder, celebrating murder, funding murder, threatening annihilation, conducting genocide, praying to Allah for the extermination of "Islam's enemies" -- revelling in the dreams of world domination, and the crushing of "infidels" under Muslim jackboots --
Well -- until Muslims such as "Mekoots", and as many other followers of this putrescent corpse of a "religion" who don't agree with the heinous barbarities and atrocities and insults perpetuated hourly by Muslims, until Muslims such as "Mekoots" and all of his supposed fellow "moderates" begin protesting these things -- fighting these actions -- STOPPING these abominations in the name of Islam and his god Allah -- his words are utterly useless... His words are hollow -- his words are extremely meaningless..
Mark Steyn
One day, years from now, as archaeologists sift through the ruins of an ancient civilization for clues to its downfall, they'll marvel at how easy it all was. You don't need to fly jets into skyscrapers and kill thousands of people. As a matter of fact, that's a bad strategy, because even the wimpiest state will feel obliged to respond. But if you frame the issue in terms of multicultural "sensitivity," the wimp state will bend over backward to give you everything you want -- including, eventually, the keys to those skyscrapers. Thus, Jack Straw, the British foreign secretary, hailed the "sensitivity" of Fleet Street in not reprinting the offending cartoons.
http://www.suntimes.com/output/steyn/cst-edt-steyn05.html
And another forthright article from the DT
In this controversy, Mr Straw has been put to shame by the German home minister, Wolfgang Schäuble, who robustly defended the freedom of newspapers to make their own decisions. "Why should the German government apologise?" he said. "This is an expression of press freedom." In contrast, the British Government's craven response has sent a terrible signal: those who wish to see free expression curtailed need only light a flame, issue a threat and wave an angry fist.

And a series of letters in the DT showing that some people are catching on

I cant believe that this is happening, unless there is some reason for this behaviour by the police. They must have been told to let the muslims have as much rope as possible.
Re; the Telegraph link above they write in the third from last paragraph:
"There is no excuse for gratuitous offence, of course. "
What was gratuitous and what was offensive about the cartoons in light of the beheadings, the suicide bombings for 72 virgins, the blind hatred ....
Are those not offensive enough to be responded to portraying the West's image of Islam?
The great British philosopher John Stuart Mill wrote in On Liberty, "Strange it is, that men should admit the validity of the arguments for free discussion, but object to their being 'pushed to an extreme'; not seeing that unless the reasons are good for an extreme case, they are not good for any case."
The cartoons in the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten raise the most important question of our times: freedom of expression. Are we in the west going to cave into pressure from societies with a medieval mindset, or are we going to defend our most precious freedom -- freedom of expression, a freedom for which thousands of people sacrificed their lives?
A democracy cannot survive long without freedom of expression, the freedom to argue, to dissent, even to insult and offend. It is a freedom sorely lacking in the Islamic world, and without it Islam will remain unassailed in its dogmatic, fanatical, medieval fortress; ossified, totalitarian and intolerant. Without this fundamental freedom, Islam will continue to stifle thought, human rights, individuality; originality and truth.
Unless, we show some solidarity, unashamed, noisy, public solidarity with the Danish cartoonists, then the forces that are trying to impose on the Free West a totalitarian ideology will have won; the Islamization of Europe will have begun in earnest. Do not apologize.
This raises another more general problem: the inability of the West to defend itself intellectually and culturally. Be proud, do not apologize. Do we have to go on apologizing for the sins our fathers? Do we still have to apologize, for example, for the British Empire, when, in fact, the British presence in India led to the Indian Renaissance, resulted in famine relief, railways, roads and irrigation schemes, eradication of cholera, the civil service, the establishment of a universal educational system where none existed before, the institution of elected parliamentary democracy and the rule of law? What of the British architecture of Bombay and Calcutta? The British even gave back to the Indians their own past: it was European scholarship, archaeology and research that uncovered the greatness that was India; it was British government that did its best to save and conserve the monuments that were a witness to that past glory. British Imperialism preserved where earlier Islamic Imperialism destroyed thousands of Hindu temples.
On the world stage, should we really apologize for Dante, Shakespeare, and Goethe? Mozart, Beethoven and Bach? Rembrandt, Vermeer, Van Gogh, Breughel, Ter Borch? Galileo, Huygens, Copernicus, Newton and Darwin? Penicillin and computers? The Olympic Games and Football? Human rights and parliamentary democracy? The west is the source of the liberating ideas of individual liberty, political democracy, the rule of law, human rights and cultural freedom. It is the west that has raised the status of women, fought against slavery, defended freedom of enquiry, expression and conscience. No, the west needs no lectures on the superior virtue of societies who keep their women in subjection, cut off their clitorises, stone them to death for alleged adultery, throw acid on their faces, or deny the human rights of those considered to belong to lower castes.
How can we expect immigrants to integrate into western society when they are at the same time being taught that the west is decadent, a den of iniquity, the source of all evil, racist, imperialist and to be despised? Why should they, in the words of the African-American writer James Baldwin, want to integrate into a sinking ship? Why do they all want to immigrate to the west and not Saudi Arabia? They should be taught about the centuries of struggle that resulted in the freedoms that they and everyone else for that matter, cherish, enjoy, and avail themselves of; of the individuals and groups who fought for these freedoms and who are despised and forgotten today; the freedoms that the much of the rest of world envies, admires and tries to emulate." When the Chinese students cried and died for democracy in Tiananmen Square (in 1989) , they brought with them not representations of Confucius or Buddha but a model of the Statue of Liberty."
Freedom of expression is our western heritage and we must defend it or it will die from totalitarian attacks. It is also much needed in the Islamic world. By defending our values, we are teaching the Islamic world a valuable lesson, we are helping them by submitting their cherished traditions to Enlightenment values.
Lord Ahmed's comments are typical of him.
He is full of happiness when a church is converted into a mosque.
Where did we go wrong?
There was some commentary today about this on the BBC radio that the police effectively have their hands tied and are treading on egg shells by the multi-cultural hand wringing establishment and are "looking over their shoulders" whenever Mohammedens are involved. A group of Islamist demonstrators in London were openly inciting violence and terrorism against Europe in a demonstration last weekend, yet the police stood by and watched helplessly. If the BNP had turned out with similar inflammatory rhetoric or it had been a bunch of football hooligans, you can be sure they would all have been arrested on the spot.
Londongirl -- In fact, on a BBC broadcast here in America I witnessed an average Londoner going up to the "protesters" and shouting his opposition to them -- What happened then STUNNED me -- I give credit to the BBC for broadcasting this little video -- but the gentleman in question was then violently confronted by a copper who told him his action was against the law, and the copper then threatened him by saying "You will go to jail if you do it again..."
Did anyone else see this coverage? It was a vivid and stark reminder of how topsy turvy things have become with the false multicultural political correctness moral relativism which isn't moral at all mindset which grips much of the Western world still...
It was disgusting... It was insane... It must have been an accident that it made it through the BBC's censorship organ...
But I saw it.
Truth4U
Excellent post
In a way it was good that the police did not arrest those hooded muslim demonstrators as they shouted for the beheading of cartoonists. It has told everyone what we are up against. Give them more rope I asy till they hang themselves.
TO ALL THE BRITISHERS
I fail to understand the silence you keep, when things are going so heywire in your country. How come not a single Britisher with a back bone emerged yet?
They call your Queen as enemy of Islam worthy to be killed.... You all sleep
They bomb your sub-ways and kill your brothers and sisters.... you all sleep
They call you infedals, with a corrupted holy book...you all sleep
They now barge into your prayers, and create commotion.....you still snore and sleep.
Sleep tight my darlings... till they wake you up with a sword- to remind you -it is time for the Namaz prayer in the Mosque!.
