US to continue jizya to Hamas-led PA

It looks as if Ibrahim Hooper will get his wish. "Palestine: US pledges continuation of aid to PNA," from Xinhuanet, with thanks to Mackie:

RAMALLAH, Feb. 25 (Xinhuanet) -- Chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat Saturday said the U.S. pledged to continue financial support for the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) though the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) would lead a new Palestinian government.

Erekat told reporters following a meeting in Ramallah with visiting deputy US Secretary of State for Middle East Affairs David Welsh.

The meeting was the first high-level U.S.-Palestinian contact since Hamas, whose charter calls for destruction of Israel, scored a landslide victory in Palestinian Parliamentary elections last month.

Condi Rice is the worse Secretary of State. Incompetenet pusilanimous dhimmi, clueless about Islam. If only she would that 'holey' Koran she loves so much.

This was entirely predictable. I am not in the least bit surprised. For all of those Bush worshippers who thought that Bush was Israel's "best friend", what say you now?

Our friends the Palestinian people...blah blah blah blah.... we continue to be devoted to the humanitarian needs of the Palestinian people and it shall remain so blah blah blah blah... our friends the Saudis...blah blah blah... our friends and partners against terror the Pakistanis blah blah blah, our friends and allies in the Gulf... blah blah blah blah.... we are the richest nation in the world (to paraphrase It's A Wonderful Life) because we have so many friends!

If this is not supporting terrorism than I apparently do not know what is.

How do we deal with the prosecutions of people like Sami.Al Arian who the justice department is considering re-prosecuting for helping to fund Hamas along with many other prosecutions of others for the same in America.

I can see the defence attorneys saying " your honor and members of the jury; how can we prosecute this defendent when the United states goverment is giving support to Hamas as well? Apparently the United Stayes goverment does not consider Hamas a terrorist organization anymore because they are now funding them". I rest my case.

This is coming from a Palestinian spokesman so the credibilty is suspect. I checked a few American news sources and can't find this story on any of them.

Igor: You are absolutely right. This is not a surprise. No one, not even Israel has the will or the balls to fight these people in any meaningful or effective way. As nauseating as it is, the only thing that will wake people up, again, is more 9/11's. It's horrible to even consider, but I'm afraid it's the awful truth. Everyone's gone back to sleep.....

Unfortunately the Palestinian claims are also being reported in the Jerusalem post. The US owes nothing to the Palestinian people so why give any funding? If true I'm disgusted that funding by the US of a terrorist government would even be considered.

Roxane, you beat me to it. I started a post and then thought....wait a minute how reliable is the source. I would HOPE that if it was true our press would be having a field day with it if for no other reason than to throw rocks at the white house.

The ports and now this.... what a way to fight terrorism bush! I am now *totally* disgusted.

"I can see the defence attorneys saying " your honor and members of the jury; how can we prosecute this defendent when the United states goverment is giving support to Hamas as well?"

No problem.............they have plenty of practice allowing ILLEGALS from MEXICO to work in this country ILLEGALLY which is breaking our laws. Heck...they even help them get drivers licenses to drive on our roads as ILLEGALS. Now just you try doing that with a suspended drivers license.....they would take you into court and say..."JUDGE HE IS BREAKING THE LAWS OF THIS LAND BY DRIVING WITH A SUSPENDED DRIVERS LICENSE....SIR."

But NEW JERSEY politicians want to allow this....take a look. (New Jersey has tons of radical muslims)

* 25TH February 2006: Despite the obvious adverse affects it would have to homeland security, New Jersey Assemblyman Joseph VAS introduced legislation that would allow driver's licenses to be issued to individuals who cannot provide ANY PROOF of being in the U.S. LEGALLY, or ANY PROOF of their TRUE IDENTITY. Perth Amboy mayor and state legislator Joseph VAS sponsored bill #A2607 that states, in part, that "the commission may issue a driving privilege card to a person who satisfies the requirements for issuance of a basic driver's license but cannot provide: (1) proof of lawful presence in the United States; or (2) sufficient identifying documentation.

Xinhuanet? Not my top source for reliable news. I'll believe it when Bush threatens a veto against any law that blocks such aid. And we all know he would NEVER do something like that, contrary to the nation's interest!

Macondo,

I agree that Israel does not have the will to fight. There was a slight shift of opinion on the possibility of peace with the Arabs after the Hamas election but it was not dramatic enough to enact any real change. However, even if they did have the will to fight, how do you think the UN, EU, Russia, and even America would react to them declaring war on "Palestine"? The screeching would never stop.

I would not give an credence to any utterance by Hamas or their spokespersons. They all LIE. When I hear it from an US spokesperson I will then believe it. So lets wait till we hear from "our side" what they have to say. So far our side says Hamas is a terror organization bent on the destruction of our only true ally in the whole of the middle east -Israel..
I doubt any one with the right frame of mind will agree to fund a government composed of terrorists right next to Israel.
We may, I say may, give a bit of humanitarian aid in kind to the needy, but not direct to fund a government.
We owe the Palestinians nothing, they danced in the streets & celebrated when 9/11 happened. So why aid the enemy?

Igor: It's true that the screeching by the UN and others would be deafening, but let's consider the fact that screeching might be the only consequence. As history has shown, there's an awful lot of barking and rarely any biting. Rogue states get away with everything, including genocide (the horror in Darfur, for one) and no one does a thing. That said, it's entirely possible I'm being naive and foolhardy - especially considering that Israel and the Jews have a special status as being the most persecuted and hated people on earth since time immemorial. Anti-semitism is alive and well, I'm sorry to say.

Whether this particular story is true or not, I'll bet anything the EU and others will continue to aid the barbarians handsomely. These people, who receive the most aid per capita than any other people on earth will continue to have the dollars pour in.

It Hammas is still on the terror list, and you have pepole in court gonig to jail for funding to Hammas, how can the government give money to Hammas! l think you sould email, call and write to your senator and demand no money to Hammas!

Hi, I love you Mr. Hooper. (No not the clown from CAIR) How could the U.S. have allegiance to both Israel and palestine? Hi Theresa!

This is of a piece with everything else. It is of a piece with remaining in Iraq to make the Light-Unto-the-Muslim-Nations Project bear fruit, because somehow those American soldiers will be able to create, out of Shi'a and
Sunni, Arab and Kurd, a united Iraqi army, a united Iraqi police force. And isn't a united Iraq, one where the sectarian and ethnic hatreds do not end in civil war, and especially do not draw in men, money, and materiel from outside -- isn't that clearly in the American interest?

And just as clearly, isn't it in the American interest to keep pouring Jizyah into Egypt, or into the "Palestinian" coffers, the coffers that are like a sieve with so much (was it $2.3 billion that Arafat alone siphoned off, with a few billion more diverted for his best friends in the PA, for their villas in France, their stocks and bonds, their children being educated in the United States and other Infidel lands, where many of them intend to settle, and while doing well, to spread their venomous worldview to any Infidels who will listen and allow themselves to be affected).

Yes, this Administration will not study Islam. It will not face up to the nature, the scope, the methods, of the world-wide Jihad. It has a perfect opportunity to end the Jizyah, end it forever, and to force the local Arabs (a/k/a "Palestinians") to go hat in hand to the rich Arabs of the Gulf. They should go. They should be getting whatever support they are going to get (and if they have no discretionariy funds left to pay for weapons, and everyone has to work as hard to survive as, say, peasants in rural China or Bolivia, instead of marching around in black balaklavas and clutching kalashnikovs, wouldn't that be a welcome change?).

One crazy policy after another. All part of the same wilful ignorance and timidity, masquerading as carefully-planned high policy.

They are costing us. In every way.

Condi Rice is the worse Secretary of State. Incompetenet pusilanimous dhimmi, clueless about Islam. If only she would that 'holey' Koran she loves so much.

I hope your right. It could be worse than you think...

rumoret .. Look at the bright side. They won't be forced to wait in line for public transportation to whisk them off to their Port Job$.

Allahbedamned, if it does turn out to be reliably true that we are sending Ham-ass $$$ but, you know, I won't be surprised.

Remember: Tomorrow, February 26. The memorial of February 26, 1993 when the WTC was bombed for the FIRST TIme.

The Washington Post is reporting the same story, so I guess it must be true.

According to opinion polls, there is no visible support in this country for continuing to send American aid -- i.e. Jizyah -- to the "Palestinians." Not all Americans yet are sufficiently aware of Islamic doctrines to use the word "Jizyah" or to comprehend how accurately it describes the continued payment, out of fear (described as "compassion"), to assorted Muslim states that have come to expect it as if by right (look at Egypt, its media helping to make Egypt a world center of anti-Americanism, which continues to pocket $2 billion a year from the United States, money for which we get absolutely nothing in return except permission to use, without any Egyptian contradiction, the phrase "Egypt is a staunch ally in the war on terror" whenever our leaders wish to use it in befuddling those whom they should be truthfully instructing toward greater comprehension).

How can one deal with Stupidity, a Stupidity born of Ignorance, at this point inexcusable ignorance?

Macondo5 As nauseating as it is, the only thing that will wake people up, again, is more 9/11's.

9/11, London, Madrid were all punishment attacks. That is, to teach a lesson to the recalcitrant dhimmi, that if he did not behave, there would be worse to follow. The London demonstarations made that point quite claerly. Alongside then comes the so called moderate muslims who demand concessions for the ummah, or the muslim young men would get even more angry. It would then be difficult to restrain them. And so on.

On the evidence so far of the behaviour of Washington, London and Madrid, further 9/11's would simply make them cave in faster to islamic demands.

An excellent book on islam - written around 1920 and thus avoids PC.

The Mind of the Musuluman

http://musulmanbook.blogspot.com/

You can download the lot and read it at leisure.

The last chapter has advice for France and England in their dealings with muslims. It could have been written yesterday.

"It is our belief that it is important for the people in the Palestinian territories ... to have a good life in safety and security with economic wellbeing," David Welch added.

I realise that everyone on this planet should have a good life. But why is that only Palestinian Arabs deserve this at our expense, and with no necessity to work for it.

War should be for uncompromising Victory. Sleeping with a raging enemy is to compromise principals of Victory, to War when Muslims are better prepared to Win. The US leadership appears to have an agenda of bad judgement and/or a political correct choice to circumvent Victory, perhaps, an act of treason that is farming an alien evil to fight us, yet, another time.
Note:Islam Victory with *21 free port services* soon to be available and millions to educate excited academics to politically correct US problems.

dp111: You're right, London and Madrid did nothing to strengthen the resolve of civilized countries, but neither of those to attacks came close to the spectacle of 9/11 and the 3000 innocent dead. But, I get your point. It's hard to fathom what needs to happen. It seems nothing short of a nuclear disaster will get politicians or the public to face the truth that all of us here are well aware of.

Macondo5 posted: but neither of those to attacks came close to the spectacle of 9/11 and the 3000 innocent dead.

I agree. 9/11 was worse then Pearl Harbour. It merited a response on the Ummah of the same category that Japan got.

Now some would argue that no nation was guilty for 9/11 - that it was the work of a group of islamists. But I can reposte that muslims regard themselves as members of no nation but that of islam. And they fervently and loudly proclaimed that allegiance and support to OBL post 9/11.

Instead we have been plowing our hard earned money into muslim nations. Palestine is just the tip. Iraq, Pakistan, Indonesia, Somalia, Egypt, Bangladesh, Jordan.. The list goes on and on and even includes Saudi Arabia. The only muslim nation that does not get Jizya from the US is Iran.

Gosh that must be it. That is why Iran is so angry and threatening Jihad left and right - the poor lot have not been given their fair share of jizya, while less deserving muslim nations have been getting theirs.

I do recommend

The Mind of the Musulman

It is just as applicable now as in the 1920s, when it was written.

Rice to Pali-Arabs: 'Jiziya is coming...!'

I can just picture Saeb Erakat licking his chops...

'Terror pays', sez Dershowitz...

"...The only muslim nation that does not get Jizya from the US is Iran..." sez DP111

Not quite. The US chipped in handsomely when they had that huge earthquake a few years ago, remember. And there are always these various 'humanitarian' programs, by the UN and various NGO's...

Quite an industry!

sheik yer'mami

Yes you are right - they did indeed. But that was a oneoff charity because of the earthquake.

I mean here are all these muslim nations, and heaven forbid, even non-muslim nations, getting their Jizya from the West, and poor Iran, that has been supporting Hezbullah and others, gets nothing. No wonder they are so angry and threatening real Jihad instead of just supporting it. Real Terrorism, not just supporting it, pays, as the Palis have clearly shown.

Andre Servier's book was first mentioned, repeatedly, at JW, where an attentive visitor noted its mention, and proceeded to put the book entirely on line. Google "Andre Servier" and "Jihad Watch" for the history of how it came to be on-line.

Well, I've just read a bit of the Musulman book, and at first I thought it was just early 20th century racism. But the parts about the formation of the bedouin spirit and of Islam by the harsh and competitive desert existence actually make sense, and if rewritten by an anthropolist in more modern terms could even be a quite acceptable theory.

It's very interesting that the main distrust against Islamists expressed by the author seems to be directed at the desert people i.e. arabs, which of course could be deemed racist but also do give some hope for muslims from more fertile environments and cultures.

There is certainly some logic to the idea of being able to think about nothing other than god, veiling yourself from head to toe and having nothing to look forward to than the 'oasis' of paradise when you spend most of your life in a hot sandstorm.

I really hope that all you nice people voicing your opposition to and anger about the U.A.E. takeover of 6 U.S.ports and about Bush sending jizya (your money) to the terrorists of Palestine, are sending these thoughts to your government............this affects the whole world and I would like my children to grow up....for the American president to be such an idiot and still be the president is a distinct worry.

marilyn-

Never fear.

My representatives and the-

president@whitehouse.gov

-are getting both port and starboard barrels.

Using information supplied by our own Library of Congress' information services about the lovely emirs of Dubai and Abu Dabi (which sounds like a noise Fred Flintstone would make).

The deal stinks, the attention paid to it by the leadership is pathetically inadequate, and the bluster used by them to try to cover their butts and intimidate any opposition to the port fiasco is shameless in its slandering and pandering.

Plus, the turmoil resulting is a political mess that we do not need in wartime.

A Pandora's box of fiscal sleaze and simplistic begging-the-questions is opened by these inept, uninformed clowns, when we really require Churchillian cunning and Teddy Rooseveltian testicular fortitude to win this mortal conflict of our Civilization clashing with its spiritual anti-matter opposite.
