IRVINE, Calif. (AP) - In a March 1 story, The Associated Press reported that during a panel discussion the Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson said all Muslims hate America. Peterson called Islam an ``evil religion'' but the story should have made clear he was referring only to Muslim extremists when he said, ``These folks hate us because we are a Christian nation and we support Israel.''
It's good to see the Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson taken out of the mainstream media 'penalty box' for remarks he was falsely accused of making at the UAC and Young Republican panel at UCIrvine "unveiling" those controversial Danish Mohammed cartoons. Also good to see in a negative sense the Orwellian speak of Muslim apologists who compare the Rev. Peterson's remarks to Gobellian judenhass as portrayed in those infamous Der Sturmer cartoons in Nazi Germany. But, that's what we have come to expect from Islamofascists: taqiyya and muzzling of free speech rights all out of Gobbels playbook.
Bravo to Rev. Peterson, UAC's Jesse Petrilla and communications director the peripetatic "Scarlet pimpernel" Lee Kaplan- "he's here, he's there, those Islamofascists seek him everywhere", the UC Irvine Young republicans and of course to thye ditors at the AP for clearing up the mess their stringer made in reporting the original story.
Amazing how the truth will out. Isn't it?
Jesse Lee Peterson is one heck of a guy. Fearless. It's not easy to be a black conservative and take on Jesse Jackson and Islam.

This seems to be the week for retractions and corrections by the AP. In addition of the retraction issued by the AP of false statements attributed to Jesse Lee Paterson. The AP has also issued a correction of a false story about Pres. Bush and hurricaine Katrina.
This is another case Mr. Horowitz should be touting as an example of what the Left does on campus, Eh, kj?

I didn't see the "Islam is evil" retracted. What I saw retracted was "All Muslims hate America" - that was filtered down to "Muslim extremists hate America because we are Christian and we support Israel".
In other words, the "Islam is evil" comment stays. The truth remained uncontested and unretracted.
