Norway's asylum policy claimed another victim today. This time it was somebody I knew. Stein Sjaastad (58) was a good friend of, and the primary-care physician for, several of my best friends in Oslo. I met him several times. He was always gentle and soft-spoken, and always had a warm, slightly wry smile and a genial twinkle in his eye. He was by all accounts a wonderful, caring doctor, and when one of my best friends in Oslo was going through the worst crisis of his life, Stein was extraordinarily understanding, considerate, and helpful, going out of his way to help him through it. He was what every doctor should be.Today an Algerian national who has been living in Norway for about a year, and whose asylum application was apparently denied (but who, as is the usual practice, simply remained here anyway), walked into Stein's office and stabbed him several times in the chest and neck with a knife that he had brought along. Apparently he had been a patient of Stein's. This afternoon, when his name surfaced in connection with the murder, several Oslo doctors told police that they had experienced this man's aggressiveness firsthand. But of course nothing had been done. Nothing is ever done. After all, lots of asylum seekers are aggressive.
One was reminded at once of August 3, 2004, when another aggressive asylum seeker -- this one from Somalia -- murdered 23-year-old Terje Mjåland on a downtown Oslo tram, the same tram my partner takes to work every day. That murderer, as it happens, was released by the authorities only two weeks ago, on March 15, on his own recognizance. He can't be held responsible for the crime, they say, because he was insane at the time. Now, apparently, he's OK.
This evening, on Tabloid, Norway's premier news-discussion program, Mullah Krekar was interviewed. He offered his views on Islam and the West, the main point being that the former will eventually conquer the latter. No mention of Stein's murder.
Stein leaves two sons and a partner, Egil.
Wow - Insane enough to kill in August of 2004, yet cured and walking the streets in only 19 months. That really speaks volumes about the efficacy of psychiatric therapy in Norway. Lets hope the responsible physicians publish this case study so all can benefit. BE afraid, be very afraid. No doubt this nutter has received the blessing of the Norwegian government and is on a lifetime vacation at the expense of the Norawegian people. What a crew of Jessies you are. Surprised the Germans are not still in Oslo.
Aaaaarggghhh! What's wrong with the Norwegian authorities?? Why are they letting this happen?? These people should be either imprisoned or deported. Why are the Norwegian people putting up with this? Where are the huge protest marches of worried citizens?
MP, I agree ... psychiatric care will not cure what ails Islam. What is considered insane in the West passes for normal in Islam.
Bruce Bawer's book is excellent. I've given a copy to a friend to read (a friend who was too polite to say she thought I might be insane re: my views on Islamism) and she is in the process of completing a 180 degree turn.
Another unbelievable story from the European soap opera, proving once again that truth is stranger than fiction. How long will it take for the drama to begin here, and how will we react?
Considering the current obsession with racism, Islamophobia, diversity, multiculturalism, moral relativism, political correctness, Islamic apologetics, and other related cultural Marxist BS, will muslims become protected criminals here too? Will they be inculpable for crimes against society because they are a "persecuted" minority; poor, pitiful, perpetual victims? It wouldn't surprise me a bit. The ACLU works in tandem with CAIR; our good friends, the Saudis, foot the bills that aren't paid with our tax dollars.
Between the Mexican invasion, the threat of more terror attacks, the muslim invasion and eventual jihad, all made possible and expedited by our wonderful elected representatives, this country won't be recognizable in ten years. If the globalist, open-borders crowd in Washington will not even defend our borders and stop the steady influx of illiterate, unskilled "laborers" who are bankrupting the school and health care systems in some states, importing crime, drugs, and diseases, and flagrantly violating our laws, why would they do anything except appease potential muslim voters?
Where is the great Viking spirit of old? When does this end? Very sorry to hear of this and another pointless killing by yet another enemy of all that is good and civilized. Will we wait 400 years before something is done?
