Bush warns Iran on Israel

1938 Alert from AFP, with thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist:

US President George W. Bush said he hoped to resolve the nuclear dispute with Iran with diplomacy, but warned Tehran he would "use military might" if necessary to defend Israel.

"The threat from Iran is, of course, their stated objective to destroy our strong ally Israel. That's a threat, a serious threat. It's a threat to world peace," the US president said after a speech defending the war in Iraq.

"I made it clear, and I'll make it clear again, that we will use military might to protect our ally Israel," said Bush, who was apparently referring to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's call for the destruction of Israel.

Good for President Bush.

Hate him if you want but by God at least you know where he stands. And I stand with him.

I stand by President Bush too!!

I stand by his words. Unfortunately, the President has demonstrated the opposite tendency. The "Bush Doctrine" (words to the effect: "You're either with us or your with the terrorists. And if you continue to support the terrorists, we will treat you as hostile".), stated with a clarity that even Churchill could admire, has proven to be just another bromide, so that the UAE's and Saudis' of the world continue with business as usual. Fine words, if only I could believe he meant them.

On this issue, I am with Bush 43. I also have some supplies to get over any potential market problems that might result from a brief panic. I suggest everyone else have at least a couple of weeks of supplies on hand.

i get the weird feeling that , like Reagan, he'll be remembered as one of the great American presidents in years to come.

I like him - he says it straight, unlike the pathetic spinless dhimmi Eurocrats that I have to put up with here in Europe.

I firmly stand with GW, the best president since Ronald Reagan. The mans got balls. That will scare the hell out of the libberals and dehemicrats, besides I've got plenty of ammo. Also anyone that got stuck in new orleans for ketrina and didnt try to save their own butt deserves the krap they were delt.

while I certainly think Iraq was a mistake, I can't help but like this guy. I agree with the posters above, this guy says what he means and has big brass ones... but that won't prevent the Iraq quagmire from remaining a quagmire. I think he should admit that he made a mistake in Iraq, and try to sell the public on it being a mistake that was made in good faith.
We are lucky to have him as our president.

The problem, when Pres Bush makes a speech, is that a speech is just words. He didn't write the words - and, in any case, he doesn't understand what the words mean.

Pres Bush is the very incarnation of an "uncertain trumpet'. In fact, he is worse than uncertain - he is confused.

"Then you got the video of him saying before Katrina,"dont worry, the federal government gots your back"and you seen just how good he had their back's,the 101 airborne can land a force anywhere in the world in 24 hour's,ready to fight. Why couldnt anybody be in new orleans, faster than the days it took?"

>>>Silly liberal...military matters are out of your league..among other things.

Here's your answer, from someone who lived in N.O.LA:

The idiot(Gov.Blanco), democrat refused to give the President authority to take control of the disater area, as was done by the other Gov's in the other effected states. You see, or don't, understand that it's the Gov's decision to GIVE the Pres the authority to go into the state for support. Remember that uncivil war that killed 600K+ Americans from 1860-65? That was over States Rights. Now, go play in traffic.

commenter patriot2 said: "Dont ya think if your at war,you DONT give ANYBODY a tax break?"
Answer: We must keep the economy strong ESPECIALLY during a war, and tax refunds do the trick every time! His was a brilliant and obviously effective move.
And "he stole the election"?? A patently false belief, and you should accept the clear and present facts. Idealists are not realists, so you won't be taken seriously by clear-thinking people.
Israel WILL be defended. They are OUR frontline!

That would be a weird feeling, almost Kafkaesque. Good to know that the last 10 people who support the policies of GWB are all here on the same message board.

Dubya is a good guy, all said and done.
With the kinda hell the mainstream media's been giving him on every single issue (IMO, on the NSA surveillence and CIA prisons thing, on Gitmo etc he was bloody right), it does take balls (and dare I say it - character) to hold his ground the way he has.

I cannot imagine a Clinton or Kerry or Gore or even a McCain standing their ground the way this man has in the face of relentless lib-left opprobrium and often plain ridiculuous hatred (the Bush=Hitler kinda crowd). Ask yourselves how quickly a Clinton or kerry would flip flop and debate the meaning of "is" at the first sign of opinion polls diving south?

Dubya is human and gets things wrong now and then. I'm conservative and this man isn't in the Reagen mould in the true-blue conservative sense (the deficits, the mexican border etc). But that doesn't mean we don't give him his due when he's clear about what he intends to do.

This is one of the only subjects that I agree with Bush upon. I hope the Democrats promote a active defense of Israel then I would vote for them.

"...he says he want's to cut national debt, then he gives huge tax cuts to the top 10% of people."

Exactly - now you're getting it!

I'm probably off by a bit but by giving the top 10% a tax break, we see a a trickle down effect that many more can share in. Giving big business engines extra capital can and ussualy does result in a stronger economy and a lower national debt.

I stand by the guy that swings back when clocked in the face [Bush]. I'm not particularly fond of him but then again he didn't get hired to kiss anybodys ass either. We could have voted that lip-smakin' dhimmi Kerry in but thankfully enough Americans are still critical thinkers. I appreciate that and I appreciate that Bush would stand up to the Iranians blink free and without apology.

Havoc -

Your comment doesn't make any sense. Bush may stutter a bit through his speeches, but I'm certain that he fully understands what he's saying.

And yes - he writes his speeches beforehand with the aid of his advisors, but he has the final word on what is written. He's not a mindless robot.

Plus his words aren't JUST words - as he's a president who takes ACTION!!!!!

With all the references to testicular size and quantity and composition, one might get the impression this is a urologists' comment site.

But, I guess if that is the standard for rating the effectiveness of a President, it is relevant.

"Hate him if you want but by God at least you know where he stands. "

I'm not so sure; he sounds very clintonian sometimes -- then you get these little gems, then something else entirely.

One thing George is not is a George Washington.

George Bush is a globalist and will remain loyal to the international cartels and their interests -- he stands by the biggest pile of international cash.

Admittedly, his grandstanding on this one sounds like music to the patriotic ear, but I'll wait and see what actually materializes as the marshall music and the John Phillips Sussa notes fade away.

In the meantime, I'll wave my little American flag with the tag that reads "Made in China" that came in the box that read "Proudly Made In the USA"

Should have read the comments earlier. However, you guys are way to conservative. Do you realize that the tax breaks don't really benefit anyone but the the top 10%? Do you know that big business has been allowed to grow stifling the consumer with inflationary prices? Do you know that Bush got into Yale by virtue of his great-grandfather who donated a wing of the building to them? Do you know Bush has often colluded with Saudis and various Arab businessmen? Are you aware that he proposed to stop testing for Salmonella in beef that is sold to schools in order to aid the meatpacking industry? Do you know that he has failed to close the trade defecit with China and raised the budget defecit to hundreds of billions of dollars? Have you not seen the gross corruption involved in his administration regarding exposure of a CIA agent's identitiy and his links with Abramoff? Do you know that many regulatory agencies powers to regulate business for the consumer's welfare have been weakened? How about the convulted Medicare plan? How about the fact that the government demands much higher standards in education with No Child Left Behind but does help fund those efforts causing some schools in underpriveleged communities to lose all federal aid? These and countless more mistakes and problems exist. How can you support Bush?

how many days AFTER it hit did he want that?

>Ok, you really need to look for answers before posting what you consider to be truths.

that was only an example,of many. You are as fooled about bush,as most of the west is about Islam.

> I get it..you're enlightened and we're unable to see the truth due to the Zoinist glasses we're wearing, right.

what has he done to make him so great?

>The list is very extensive, but I'll get "some" things for you to look at:

maybe i missed it.

>Need I say more.

I would LOVE to beleive our president wasnt an idiot.

>The only you love is ignorance.

i will go play in traffic,i will be the one right behind you

>I'll be driving in reverse, laughing.

Does he mean that he would retaliate or order a first strike? Why not simply put this in a guarantee of the kind made to Taiwan, so that it is clear and not to be undone by some future leader, eager to appease?

And what is wrong with beginning, in statements like this, to begin to express things more clearly. Such as: "We will not allow a Jihad to be waged against our ally Israel" so as to get that word out there.

It might be argued that this would unduly alarm the Arabs as well as the Iranians, for it would show that we are no longer going to accept the other instruments employed in the Lesser Jihad --the constant siege by Arabs that long predates the winning of territory in 1967(the very territory that was originally intended, under the terms of the Mandate for Palestine, for "close Jewish settlement on the land"), or the declaration of the independence of the State of Israel in 1948, that even predates the mandate period itself, for local Muslims, even those who sold lands to the Jews, did not like the idea of the Zionist return, whether or not every last acre or dunam of land was paid for, at often extravagant rates, to both Turkish and Arab absentee landlords (of course, 90% of the land was "state and waste land" and owned not by private parties but the property of the Ottoman state, title to which passed, to be held in trust for the Jewish National Home, by Great Britain as Mandatory Authority, and then finally to the government of Israel, as the legitimate and intended successor, by the intent and clear expression of the Mandates Commission of the League of Nations, to that Mandatory Authority.

Bush's remark is clear, but it does not do the work that the insertion of the word "Jihad" might begin to do, and that needs to be done.

Also, what makes you think that a Democrat would not stand up to Iran? or against terrorism in general? The Democrats will not be soft on those issues if they want to win elections. So therefore unless you have concrete quotes or evidence you should not criticize the Democratic agenda unless you know for sure what it is. Perhaps their only fault is that they can't stand up and outline their agenda so it is difficult to figure out. However, from what I know they are firmly in support of the war on terror.

Bush also spoke about Iraq today:

"The savagery of the terrorists and insurgents who controlled Tal Afar is really hard for Americans to imagine," Bush said. "They enforced their rule through fear and intimidation, and women and children were not spared."

Yes, our public does find it difficult to imagine the savagery of the jihadists. Because our leaders, like Bush, and our media do not tell us what is going on, except for bland statements like "women and children were not spared". Who are doing these savage acts? How savage are they? What motivates them? What reasons do they give for their acts?

Tell us what they are doing, spare no details. Don't keep sugar-coating the story. Just tell us the truth, and the public will understand quickly enough who the "extremists" and "racists" are.

BTW, Reaganomics (trickle down theory) does not work as can be seen by the state of the economy during his presidency and 1988 market crash.

The man has faults, as does everyone, but he is doing more than ANYONE right now. I'd prefer a TRUE conservative next go round, but we'll have to see who gets the nomination.

Hell, a military dictator wouldn't be bad if it means the destruction of islam. I want a future for my children in which they can live in a society that respects freedom, not submission to a death cult, or thier apologists. Death is the only option they seem to understand, and I'm very capable, as well as young enough to re-enlist.

Bayoucoyote, you can't kill a billion people that is genocide. Not all of them are terrorists either. We must figure out a more practical and humane way to do end Islamic fundamentalism. Killing people doesn't work (look at Iraq).

Champ -

The reason Pres Bush's words don't matter is the vast disconnect between his words and his actions. For example: "You are either with us, or you are with the terrorists." How does this square with forcing Israel to negotiate with Arafat, Mazen, or Hamas? It doesn't.

If Pres Bush understood the content of his speech, this war would be going vastly harder upon islam. Instead, Pres Bush hosts muslims at White House dinners and encourages the sale of US port facilities to the UAE.

Pres Bush is dim-witted. We need to recognize this fact - and work around it. Somehow.

Israel can't take even a few nukes, if we don't stop them they are done. We can erase Iran but what does it prove?

Skeptic asked

Also, what makes you think that a Democrat would not stand up to Iran? or against terrorism in general?

At the risk of continuing the OT nature of this thread, I agree with Skeptic. I won't even go into the respective behaviors of Kerry and Bush during the Vietnam War. Instead, look at Kennedy during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Or better yet, look at Franklin Roosevelt during WWII. Or Woodrow Wilson during the WW1. [On the other side, look at Reagan in Grenada, heh heh]. This idea that Democrats are weak is a recent (since Nixon?) invention of the Republicans that worked against Carter and Dukakis (and yes, even Kerry).

I don't want to get into an argument of Republicans vs. Democrats, but the statement that Democrats are weak on national defense is just not true. The argument that Republicans alone can solve the problem of jihad is not only false, but also damaging to the anti-jihad struggle.

Damn you said shit too! LOL

All kidding aside, we have to take care of Iran, or they will think that we are a joke. They're waiting to see what our response will be over the nukes. That is why that are trying to provoke Isreal. My own beliefs are a strong
Republican or Democrat can handle this. We just have to stick together as Americans.

There are a few problems with Bush, good points too. He's a nice guy, a decent person to be sure, but I greatly worry that his words are meaningless. How serious do our enemies take his words? One could argue the throwing overboard of Harriet Miers or his abandoning of Dubai both signal that he can issue strong statements, I'll veto any attempt to derail Dubai, I stand strongly behind Harriet Miers, you're either with us or against us. I'm skeptical. The fact that I'm against Dubai and against Harriet Miers is not the point. The president caves is the point. He caves often, after strong statements. How about his point against Homeland Security or his points against campaign finance reform . . . both pricipled to be sure . . . both abandoned quicly when the oven warmed.

Look at the contrast with Reagan. I loved the guy. Our greatast of presidents IMHO. Remember Bitburg when he went to visit the Nazi cemetary. I was against this. Reagan stood on principle. He didn't really care what people thought. He did what he thought was right. His standing up to communism exemplified this. Even Iran Contra--when he came clean, he came clean. He stood on principle--no matter what the outcry of the momment. With Bush, he's fickle. I wish the hell he'd get more fickle with Iraq, but the bad quality of this, is that our enemies begin to doubt our commitments/resolve.

W has two contradictory qualities: he's inflexible, except when he caves . . . which is often and quick. Not a good combination.

A heartening reminder that Bush still "gets it" on one facet of this conflict.

Anyone remember Shel Silverstein's The Missing Piece from their childhood? The Bush admin's foreign policy is a bit like that Pac-Man-like circle rolling along, looking for that missing wedge that would complete it, though in this case expecting it to be labeled "hearts and minds" when it's instead labeled "jihad."

After the port fiasco, the children's book/Bush foreign policy connection is fitting on so many levels.

Bayoucoyote, you can't kill a billion people that is genocide.

>Hold on, Skeptic. I never said we have to kill a billion people, you did. OTOH, I'm fully in support of BREAKING the backs of all of their supporters to remove their ability to fight. It's hard to fight when you cannot stand.

Not all of them are terrorists either.

> You're right..we'll wait until they kill more innocent people before we label them correctly. How un-PC of me, thanks! I feel emotionally secure knowing that I'm in the PC crowd now. I feel..like a good liberal. I'm smiling now, and a chickadee just landed on my shoulder with a big smile also...I'm in the grove now...WOW!

We must figure out a more practical and humane way to do end Islamic fundamentalism.

>They're interwoven. Islam cannot exist w/o fundamentalism. The "Ying and Yang" symbol.

Killing people doesn't work (look at Iraq).

>For a skeptic your pretty sure of things.

People in Pakistani Kashmir, where tens of thousands were killed by an earthquake on October 8, fled their homes when the quake struck, residents said.
Residents in the Indian capital New Delhi also felt the quake.
The quake occurred about 2.51am (8.51am AEDT) and was felt in Peshawar, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Muzaffarabad, Balakot, Lahore and Faisalabad, as well as the capital Islamabad, local television reported.
There were no immediate reports of casualties.

More than 73,000 people were killed and around 500,000 left homeless in Pakistani Kashmir and the neighbouring North West Frontier Province of Pakistan when a 7.8-magnitude quake rocked the region on October 8.

Flood death toll rises to 35 in Thailand
BANGKOK, Thailand (AP) — Troops in southern Thailand struggled through mountains of mud Tuesday in an effort to reach thousands stranded by floods and landslides that have killed at least 35 people.
Late Monday, 60 soldiers reached a village in Yala province where 2,000 people had been stranded for three days without food, said Samrerng Wongmuneeworn of the Yala disaster prevention center. He said the landslide in Tanoh Buteh killed one man and damaged about 50 homes.
The government has declared nine southern provinces disaster zones after two weeks of heavy rains left much of the area under water or buried in mud.
The affected area includes the Muslim-majority provinces of Yala, Pattani and Narathiwat, where more than 1,100 people have died in separatist violence since January 2004."

if he really meant to change sh1t,why does he let the house of saud, pay for, encourage the distruction of america,

>>I'm all for the surgical removal of the Sauds. You'll never get close to the absolute disdain that I have for them, never.

The world economy would collapse if they fall, in case you're unaware of that. We, hopefully, are approaching a time in ME history that will forever change the landscape over there. There are many things that make me gurgle bile when I think of "our friends", the saudis. Our policy with them was signed onboard the USS Quincy, back in '45. Don't parrot that "Bush's fault" crap with me. Unless you've educated yourself about our deal made in hell, shut up. He's in a box that FDR built. We've suffered since then, mainly from GREED and a LACK of PATRIOTISM. That includes every former President since FDR, even that vile bastard, Clinton.

patriot2, I apologize for thinking you were not the original patriot. You are the man!

Make the slightest criticism of Bush's policies, bam! You're a Muslim-loving US-hating traitor who should be hung from the nearest tree. A very good debating technique for those who have no facts on their side.

Well, let's see, John "I fought in Viet Nam" Kerry,Bill "I didn't have sex with that woman" Clinton, Howard "Screamin" Dean, and Al "I invented the internet" Gore real Americans also.

if he really meant to change sh1t,why does he let the house of saud, pay for, encourage the distruction of america,

>You're a joke, pat2.

"If he really wanted to change"

>Also, you're a damned fool. You "think" he wants this all to occur? The death and destruction brought to the US shores by islamists?

You want to place blame but fail to remember when you do. You've got "issues", and attempting to shift you position in midstride only points them out more. Like a braying jacka$$..refusing to pulls its load..you try to change your position. I'll call you "He-hah" from now on...it's very fitting for you.

Why not simply put this in a guarantee of the kind made to Taiwan

Or how about Kennedy's speech during the Cuban Missile Crisis? Something like:

"Any WMD attack by terrorists anywhere in Israel or the U.S. will be taken as an attack by Islam against Dar Al Harb, and will be responded to with the complete and full force of the U.S. military, in any Islamic nation, at any moment with no further warning, as our military intelligence dictates."

No nation building, no hearts-and-minds. No more games.

Hey He-haw,

Nice of you to point out that you're not an American:

He-haw: "and real american's and myself"

Your that special to exclude yourself from the Americans in your post, nice.

He-haw>>the one that was Sunk at Battle of Savo Island, 9 Aug 42,even a picture of her burning?i bet it was hard to sign any policy on her

Hey He-haw, you braying jacka$$ with ZERO ability to find the truth before falling flat on your a$$.

"..February 14, 2005, marks the 60th anniversary of the historic meeting between Saudi Arabia's King Abdulaziz and then U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt aboard the cruiser USS Quincy at Great Bitter Lake in Egypt. These two visionary leaders forged an enduring relationship that has weathered many challenges from the Cold War to the terrorism we face today.."

Notice the name of the US Naval ship in the paragraph? Your buck teeth must have blocked that part of the screen.

Now, go play with the other farm animals before I turn you into dogfood..you a$$.

I would not wish to say a word about any US President at this stage in the game but I would like to remind you all that they have a tough job.

It was your own illustrious Senator Henry Clay (1777-1852), he who so ably served President John Quincy Adams in the capacity of Secretary of State, who said, in conversation with Senator Preston of South Carolina in 1839:

“I had rather be right than be President.”

He also said, quoting I believe, Representative Josiah Quincy (later Mayor of Boston):

“... peaceably if we can, forcibly if we must.”

This latter quote seems most apposite in the light of the threats to our existence that we face today.

He-haw,
Lies spread when no one confronts them, much like islam, you a$$. Behold!! One donkey for sale..dumb as $h1t, but still 1 donkey. Cheap! As cheap as it is stupid. It's a deal for an a$$ like this.

No offense, he-haw, but someone has to tell you the truth.

I take that back..I hope you're offended. You should look futher before making "ASS"umptions, you a$$....you...he-haw.

"Why don't we handle this like mature adults, Mr. Poopypants?" - Leslie Nielsen, The Naked Gun, 2 1/2

Words to live by.

He-haw,
You must understand that I stated that "I HOPE you were offended", not that you were offended.

He-haw:"aint nothing you could do to affend me"

Is that a$$ speak or what, he-haw?

He-haw:"Affend?"

Try using your english dictionary before posting. I'm sure your hoofs make it difficult, but at LEAST try.

He-haw:"o.k there were 3 ship's,

He-haw:"unlike your a** buddy"

You're really sick. You must be coming down with Mad-A$$ disease, he-haw. Go see your vet for the med's you so desperately are in need of. I'll call your shepard to see if you can miss a couple days on the farm...

PATRIOT 2: "You are as fooled about bush,as most of the west is about Islam.what has he done to make him so great?"

1) He invaded Afghanistan and ousted the Taliban-Al Qaeda terrorist government. Al Gore would probably have "paused" duting Ramadan in October '01, and who knows how that interuption would have effected the entire 'Enduring Freedom' campaign.

2) He invaded Iraq and ousted the tirant Saddam Hussein in short-order. He is in the process of orchestrating the transition to Democracy for Iraq - an imperfect Democracy to be sure - but one whose impact on the region may be far more profound than many here believe.

Additionally, he remained steadfast in Jan '05, when the first constitutional balloting was taking place in Iraq...when Europe, the Arab League, the EU and even members of Iraq's interum gov't urged postponement on security grounds. Undoubtedly, John Kerry, who vowed to fight a sensitive war on terrorism would have concurred and Iraq's democratic experiment would have been still-born.

3) His tax-cuts DID target the middle class as well as the affluent. The results have been extraordinary. The US economy pulled itself out of recession and unemployment now stands at a miniscule 4.7%, the stock-market is piosed to break its all time record, and inflation remains low in spite of OPEC's oil extortion.

Why is it so hard for the President's detractors to conceed that he has performed well on certain issues?

samUwell, A lot of people think that this country is not worth dying for either. Myself, I prefer to live freely and I consider Isreal to be as close to America and it's people. I, myself, would give my life for my country and my friends.

I fear for this country at this time. We have an enemy that half the American people refuse to acknowledge. They blame our President for things not moving as swiftly as their TV channels. People are used to instant gratification. When it does not come quickly, they are ready to give up and let the government do it. I for one believe in the @nd ammendment.
Have you noticed that every country that has muzzie trouble has done away with gun ownership?
Are we next?

He-haw,
I'm not looking for any concession from you. You have to live with being an A$$, and I'm not going to correct your English again. Please use a dictionary to avoid being "Outed". Your careless postings indicate that you're not of American origin, to our benefit. Lastly, your hatred for a sitting president, coupled by your "patriot2" handle, that you use as a disguise, indicates to anyone who takes the time to watch that you have motives that betray the USA. I'm not one to get caught up wrestling a jacka$$ on his farm, but every once and a while I'll put 'em down.

Take care of yourself, he-haw.

Catherine

Sorry, should have been 2nd ammendment.

samUwell -

Perhaps, given that Israel is a considerable military power in a conventional sense as well as a nuclear power, President Bush was merely giving tacit approval in advance to any action that this powerful ally may choose to take; more or less saying, should Israel take action in the future, that the USA would have done so had Israel not.

Not, all told, a wrong thing to say, really.

It is temting to say 'let them fight their own battles'. I seem to remember that that was a clarion call in the USA pre-WWII and it didn't stop the Japanese at Pearl Harbor. We're all in this together. Like it or not the USA is the leader of the free world at the moment - first amongst equals, perhaps, but still the leader.

He-haw,
IF you read the Bible, there's a verse that goes something like this:

"And he will be a wild-ass of a man. His hand against everyone, and their hands against him."

He-haw, you fit that description.

Let your gun therefore be the constant companion of your walk."

That's not a veiled threat, or is it?

I strongly urge you to consider that question, he-haw.

my family has been before it was called America,we can agree to dis-agree otherwise o-well

Well, mehico did bring in alot of mules way back in the day, he-haw.

This coyote is troting off to look for more islamists elsewhere.....

FEAR NOT THERE WILL BE MANY STANDING IN THE COLD WITHOUT A COAT BUT MANY GET IT AND WILL STAND AND FIGHT AND WIN..

Yes have seen that the muslums try to go after your guns BUT the American People will not give up their guns Just look at the Mussi boy snipers seams the American People ran out and bought guns didn't try to give them up and we have had gang problems for years and when the American people get sick of it they make things happen and after the Hurrican People who had no guns have gone out and bought them.

Fear not The American People will stand up.

even the whimpy libs will Fight or they will be left out in the cold without a coat.

There are more people that know and understand what is going on just look at the big anti-war protest they could only muster 50 people and that is with moveon.org??

No the MSM is loseing the people aint buying this crap any more.

I heard Bush today and it sounded like he found his mojo.

He did point out how the mulsum monsters were killing and cutting off heads of the people of tela far and how the whole town the size of Acron Ohio was living in fear and how now that more Iraqis have stood up we have been able to keep the mulsum monsters out.

I could see that happenen in some blue areas in the USA but if they are nice we in the red areas might come help them BUT we we have to think real hard on that?

JUST HEARD THAT ENGLAND IS RETHINKING THEIR PLAN FOR IRAN??

Sometimes all you need is someone to follow and it seams to be Bush right now !!

AS fo he-haw he is the fool who thinks that the world is not moving and will be standing in the cold with no coat or was he one who was standing on a roof waiting for help??

I think that England has just come around to the Same thinking that they with the USA and Israel are not going to allow iran to have an atomic bomb and what ever it takes we will stop them.

And with Iran boming russia last week don't think the Russia will stay dimmis for long am kind of suprized about russia thought they had more balls oh well we will see??

Israel can't take even a few nukes, if we don't stop them they are done. We can erase Iran but what does it prove?

That you can be a gutless terrorist for a little while then it's time to pay, would you suggest doing nothing?

Ps: welcome to the present

Sometimes it just takes a Ronin to simplify an argument. We have the presidents of Iran and the USA making threats. Which one has a track record? Which one said he would get the terrorists no matter where? Which one took down the two biggest islamic armies at one time? Ronin’s math says it is time for anyone who wants to grow old to leave Iran.

Enough of the political diatribes. No more of the "my president or political party is better than your president or political party. This doesn't solve anything. The Islam problem is not left/right, Republican/Democrat it is going to require everyone to prevent their conquest. Bickering like this solves nothing. All it does is give our enemies an advantage when we disagree. It is not exclusive to the US in case anyone has noticed.

have no idea where he stands,he says he want's to cut national debt, then he gives huge tax cuts to the top 10%. posted by Patriot2

Could that be because the top ten percent pay the most income taxes? Everyone who pays taxes got a tax break commensurate with their income. If you don't pay income tax, you don't get a tax cut. I think I will scream if I hear "tax cuts for the rich" again!

Don't bash the "rich" too much; their money is the engine that runs the economy and generates wealth for others through investments, the creation of new jobs, and spending on big ticket items. One does not have to be an economist to see how tax cuts can actually generate more revenue for the federal government that tax increases would generate. Think about it.

Denver you obviously don’t read my posts often enough to follow them. I could care less if Israel and Iran both explode. I have said many times, Iran will do it when able, we will retaliate. Great, we can be proud but unless we take on the rest of the muslim problem we accomplish nothing.

Susan,

You consistently post excellent and informed comments. Don't go away.

Back from a trot, and I regret to see that The A$$ is still at it. Typical behavior from an admitted mule. Tell me, he-haw, where did they teach you English, Pakistan?

He-haw:lol,we learned how to spell to,but i forget how sometimes

Hah-ha, he-haw, you're funny. You should remove yourself from any civilized discussion..stick with the crayons..then work you way up, but if you can't get past the crayons the madrassa's need another iman to brainwash the youth.

Ronin,
Please avoid posting in 3rd person...it really creeps me out.;)

I keep looking around for you in my house. J/j

Bayoucoyote, maybe there are many of us sharing this brain. Some of us mike like you some ...

Susan,
I've come to respect your defiant stance against islam for 1 main reason:

You're a woman.

Like the women who took over the roles that men had during WW2, you've stood your ground here in defense of Freedom, against fools like...well you know.

Please stay around, for the women of the free world.

Actually, you hit on one of our biggest strengths, the women in the free world worked to hard and too long to go back. Islam doesn’t stand a chance in the US. They will get a few who want the notoriety of being deferent but no one with any intellect will convert.

This we'll defend...

I remember that line on the scroll when I enlisted to this day..I was only 17. I swore an oath, and I'll be here to defend it whenever the time arises.

On tap, ready to pour for all to enjoy.

Cheers, Ronin. BTW, I've been intrigued by the story behind your name. Dedicaton, loyalty and the determination to finish what they stood for, amazing.

Well thanks for that Bayoucoyote but It started when my sergeant screamed at me not to be a Ronin. Do as I was told, lo1 20 years of service and I never did get the blindly follow orders thing down. I had to look the word up but the nickname stuck. I think it does work well for this blog though

I watched the female "volunteers" in the I-ran-ian revolutionary army the other day, and I said to myself,"I would want to blow myself up too rather than be beaten on a daily basis by my so-called husband."

Let's not even get into the:

WE WILL BRING AMERICA TO HER KNEES!

That assinine banner on the the missles, the islamic phallic symbol for thier impotance as men, being paraded in front of that maniac who believes in the 12th maniac's return trip from hell. They'll be destroyed for what they're trying to accomplish..pity for the Perisian women..they could have met some real American men to sooth them.

I think it does work well for this blog though...

It does.

Funny, I still miss the Army BS in every day life. Never got pass the everyday humor amongst the E-1's, and that's also why I never moved past E-4 either.

I always wondered why they believe this islamic crap so strongly but now I realize they don’t. They are terrified to speak against it or they are paid to protest. Rarely does a muslim do anything for free. I remember a film I saw when Iran used “volunteers” to set mines off in front of their troops. Several had a death grip on the trucks, all screamed or cried. None were really “volunteers”

Looks like a good discussion.
___

Bayoucoyote, you can't kill a billion people that is genocide. Not all of them are terrorists either. We must figure out a more practical and humane way to do end Islamic fundamentalism. Killing people doesn't work (look at Iraq).

If the only way to defeat the cancer is to remove it, then you remove the cancer.

We are in a war with Islam and in war innocents die. It took nukes to end WWII in Japan and it will take nukes to end the war with Islam.

If the choice is the very survival of your family and country or the survival of the cult of Islam, what do you choose?????????

I choose freedom from the cult of Islam and its murderous followers by what ever means it takes to remain free.

Prepare, be armed be ready.

The Texican.
Freedom, the only choice at any cost.

I cringe at their stupidity. Such ignorance seems to be stadard issue, islamic issue..If I may describe it as that.

I.I. vs. GI

No brainer, but they're incapable of questioning the great lie that mohamud created. How do we, as defenders of freedom, go about confronting the greatest lie ever told? It's a daunting task placed before us, and one we must, like Ronin, complete.

Remember:
The 1st victim of islamis the person who practices the lie.

We've a long hump ahead, but we can do it.

Texican my brother I am ready, I might even help train a few of my co-workers. It is easy to get converts, just give any redneck woman a hajib and tell her to wear it, she will be ready to fight. islam had best move on, we ain’t playin

The Stars are bright in Houston tonight, Texican.

What KILLS me is the Palistinian friends that I grew up with in LA. Take islam out of the picture, and they were just like me. It burdens my soul knowing that they "believe" in a death cult, and they've no choice but to follow the indoctrinated hate forced down their throats by their parents.

May God have mercy on their souls, b/c I will not.

The solution is simple: A man packed, belt fed, heat seeking, attitude adjustment

Several had a death grip on the trucks, all screamed or cried. None were really “volunteers”

You're right. Much like the children forced into the mine fields so the men could attack the iraqis....how distorted can their cultures be? When you "sacrifice" your children for a feeble attempt to attack an entrentched enemy, you will always lose. Worse yet is the children disposed of on the orders of "men" who'd rather use them for fodder than take out a probe and be a man. They're complete failures. Once again, Iran will dispose of their youth, and they will die for cowards who fail to see that they're doomed to the inevitable conclusion:
Islam's defeat.

President Bush has managed numerous items well, but he has failed with this:

---National Debt is now 7 Trillion Dollars up 67% since Bush took office. Republican President and Republican controlled Congress. No excuse for this.

---Iraq is forecasted to have cost 400 Billion Dollars and over 2300 American lives and will cost over a Trillion Dollars and untold American lives before we leave Iraq.

---The number one problem with Bush, is that he refuses to realize and admit that we are at war with Islam and we need to destroy Islam to save America and the western civilizations.

Bush could become a great President, but he prevents himself from doing this due to his PCness.

War with Islam is fastly approaching and most of America is ill prepared.

Goodness. Some of the postings here are almost out of this world. Let people have their opinion and you can yours. Why get your bowels in a jam just because someone doesn't agree with you? I also think that Patriot2 is quite foolish in his opinions. I disagree with most of what he writes and believe that he is not educated on the realities of what Bush has done while the entire (almost) MSM has been editing against him along the way. I won't call Patriot2 a donkey just because I disagree with him.
I can almost guarantee that he is emulating the Democrat mantra that we hear everytime Pelosi, Reed, Kennedy or Kerry open their mouths. Easy enough to do. Go get 'em Patriot2, but please do a little open minded thinking on your own. Bush has done some things wrong but he has also accomplished a lot, too. You cannot disagree with that if you are really following American politics as it relates to domestic and foreign matters

Ronin,
Remember when Gen.Marshall said of all the things the Nazis had, the hitler juden scared him the most?

That's a very telling statement from someone like Gen.Marshall.

We see these monsters "volunteer" their children for islam, but where O' where are the cowards who so readily "volunteer" their children?

I can see it now..
>>>Bye Achmed..so long..go to the "glory" of allah so I can get my martyr's check from the martyr's fund for my new burka. Kill those infidels, Achmed! They stand in the way of my burka! Help your coward of an inbred goat mother look good on al-jazeera TV tongiht with my crocodile tears running down my cheeks. Oh allah, the epicenter of the greatest lie, help me fool my Achmed into believing that this is his ordained duty! I NEED A NEW BURKA!

Sick f'ers..

Bayoucoyote, Ronin and to All:

It is slowly working, but we have to press on.

The drought in Dallas was broken this weekend with floods. No water then too much water, this is Texas.

A little posting punching going on tonight, I see.

Keeps the soul alive.

This is what makes American great and unique. We are a nation that has states larger than most nations and yet we have managed to remain "United" for over 200 years as a democracy. (Hugh and the thinkers at this site, we realize that we are not a complete true democracy but it works.)

I was feeling down, until I read these posts. My father-in-law died this past Friday evening and will be buried Wednesday.

What America means to me....

It is the laughter of my grandson that lives with my wife son and I.

It is the ability to take our truck across this great land from sea to shining sea which out being searched at every state line.

Its barbeques, a little suds, sun, rain, snow, fun, crying and laughing. It is life.

The right to speak your beliefs both political and religious.

The right to be free.

Freedom.

This single word is the basis of America from its beginning. This is why I post and why I will gladly give my life.

Freedom, no other choice at any cost.

The Texican.

ivehadenuff

How are you?

May I be of some assistance?

Let people have their opinion and you can yours. Why get your bowels in a jam just because someone doesn't agree with you?

>>Fine by me,I'veHE...but I will not tolerate lies or distortions to promote an agenda that lives like a parasite on falsehoods proclaimed as the truth. If that's offensive...you're a far way from home Toto.

Well said, Texican; condolences on the loss of your father-in-law.

Flew into D/FW last night (I live somewhere in the greater Metroplex), over and around the storms you mentioned. Quite a rodeo in-flight, as a result, and a few large splashes on the drive home. Freedom = independence = occasional turbulence. Well worth it.

Sorry folks, but I don't trust the guy. He lacks basic intelligence and he simply cannot articulate himself.

Neither do I think an affirmative action female (Condi) should be trusted with such a high office.

No administration should ever send any female to the Arabs, period. That is just plain wrong. It shows that they don't understand anything at all in Washington.

Or do they? To deal with the US, they have to speak to, look at, and deal seriously with a woman, and with no hitting allowed.

That part of it, if nothing else, has worked out nicely.

This scares me because you know he is already planning on handing over another country to the Islamists to prove he is not antimuslim. You know Kosovo is going to be independent in a couple of months tops. Shame on Bush for being a coward. Everytime he talks tough he is selling out someone else to cover his ass. He is still better than Clinton but not by much.

I totally disagree with your post, Sheik Yermami.

Muslims must deal with the most powerful nation on the Earth that has a spokeperson who's a woman.
Attack their most vulnerable areas: their manhood.
An abed, but not only a woman, but a "black" woman to make them bend into submission..the same submission that they want to force upon us.

Ronin, I meant to type the Hitler Youth..not yuden.

samUwell -

You're entitled to your own opinion, but I completely disagree with what you said about Israel.

In fact - I would have to say that you're 'in league' with al-Qaida with a statement like that. Tell me - who would you die for?

A friend? Would you die for a friend? Well guess what - Israel has been our friend!

Bush states what is welcome to hear from our president. Funny how others that have hopes for the high office do not support ,or state such as well.

It is no matter what party they are from, only that the words can unite all behind them.

One of his better statements.

"but I will not tolerate lies or distortions to promote an agenda that lives like a parasite on falsehoods proclaimed as the truth. If that's offensive...you're a far way from home Toto. "

I didn't find your posts offending at all. I would say that we are pretty much in agreement with Bush's achievements and the foolishness of Patriot2's take on Bush, etc. You are quite childish in your responses to someone you disagree with. One loses credibility when he lowers himself to calling people silly names (heehaw?? Toto??)just as much as someone does by arguing a point with fictitious facts. I'd say you need to grow up just a tad, or maybe even more than a tad.

Sadly - some democrats are more interested in bashing Bush than defending America.

No more games.
fROM AN EARLIER POST.
No, I think Hugh is right on this one about the Garuantee, Kennedy's threat had teeth to be sure but the Russians loved their children, they had reasons to live and pursuits bevond totalitarianism.(They were"party Kossacks") ISLAM is different, htey just don't care if a few hundred million of them die. In the end since you can't kill every Muslim on the planet or burn every qur'an, other means are neccessary. Hugh outlined some good measured theats and responses:: Deterrent measures that could be undertaken in the event of a chemical or nuclear attack, but without waiting in some cases for any further attacks (although further attacks will help to justify the more far-reaching among them) might include, but not be limited to:

1) Seizure of Saudi-owned assets in the West, and sale of such assets to pay for the economic damage, including the cost of surveillance and other security measures, that are attributable to Saudi-funded mosques, madrasas, and propaganda all over the world. 2) Seizure of other Arab-owned or Muslim-owned assets in the West, for the same reasons. There need not be any distinction made between property owned by governments and those who are deemed to be enemy nationals -- no such distinction was made during World War II.
3) A complete ban on Muslim migration to the Western world (which needs to be undertaken in any case), and limits put on any contact between Muslims living in the West, who may already have obtained ciizenship and -- unless they are native-born converts -- their countries of origin.
4) Careful review of how citizenship is obtained, and what oaths of loyalty are administered, and if those oaths can possibly have been meant by those whose sole loyalty, by the very tenets of their belief-system, can only be to Islam and the Community of Believers, the umma al-islamiyya.
5) Government-sponsored centers to teach people about Islam outside of universities, which all over the Western world have been infiltrated, or rather captured by, apologists for Islam both Muslim and non-Muslim.
The study of Arabic under teachers whom the Infidel governments will deliberately find among Arabic-speaking non-Muslims, chiefly from those populations most likely not to supply subtle apologists for Islam - Maronites, Copts, disaffected Berbers, Arabic-speaking Jews. A knowledge of Arabic is not required for an understanding of Islam 80% of the world’s Muslims do not speak or read Arabic but have no difficulty knowing what Islam is all about. But it can be of help in studying the history of Jihad-conquest, and certainly it can be of help in debates with Muslims who accuse one of “not understanding Islam without a knowledge of Arabic.” Nonsense, of course, but nonsense more convincingly refused if someone has studied Arabic.
6) War-footing (i.e., Manhattan Project support) for solar and wind and nuclear energy projects, for conservation, and for mass transit, including that such as Amtrak which loses money, but should be cheerfully subsidized by an intelligent government bent, even hellbent, on diminishing OPEC oil revenues.
7) An end to all outward and visible signs of rhetorical "respect" for Islam, including the studied refusal to mention "Islmaic terrorism" or "Muslim terrorism” which has gone on for too long. Use these adjectives; never let them go. Use the word "jihad." Stop all attempts at verbal escamotage, where the listener is left, puzzled, dissatisfied with the deliberate vagueness.
8) End all access to Western education, not only for those Arabs and Muslims studying any kind of science, but in every area. Attempting the hopeless project of "educating them" out of their belief-system will not work. Many terrorists have lived in the West, seen the West, studied in the West, taught in the West. Dr. A. Q. Khan did “research” in the West - and we know the results of that research. Muslims in Western universities are dangerous to Infidel wellbeing, not only because of the women they marry and cause to convert (to the subsequent sorrow of many), but because they are, with the odd exception, likely to conduct Da’wa and promote the geopolitics of Islam. Past masters at taqiyya-and-kitman, they should be regarded as akin to enemy agents, promoting a belief-system that means Infidel political and social arrangements and assumptions no good.
Condemning them to the solitary confinement of dar al-Islam will cause a concentration of minds.
9) End all access to the Western world for the children of the ruling elites all over the Muslim world. Without this escape hatch, those rulers will have to begin to consider how to ameliorate things in their own countries.
10) End the jizyah of Infidel aid to Muslim states, such as Egypt, Pakistan, Jordan, and whatever the latest political instrument of the shock troops of the Jihad against Israel, the "Palestinians," may be called. Call attention to the $10 trillion that has already been recdeived by the Muslim members of OPEC in the last 1/3 century, and continue to advise those Pakistanis, Egyptians, Jordanians and "Palestinians" to ask for that aid no longer from the Infidels, who suddenly have to pay higher prices for oil and hundreds of billions more for security all over the Western world, but to those Arab and Muslim states that, not coincidentally, are receiving those hundreds of billions more in oil revenues each year.

11) Keep the focus clearly on the belief-system of Islam and on Jihad. And after the next small terrorist attack on Infidels -- say, 10 killed - begin to legislate to make sure that some of the measures suggested above become not merely ideas but the law.

12) Clean out the taxpayer-funded government radio and television stations of those who have so misled us about Islam over the past 20-30 years. Begin, possibly, by firing John Simpson, the deeply, even conspiratorially, anti-Israel and islamophilic head of the BBC World Affairs broadcasting, the same John Simpson (a close friend of Peter Hounam, whose conspiracy book about Israel is the kind of thing that antisemites love to flog) who described the Muslim bombers in London as "misguided criminals." That should have been enough to cause his discharge. Why wasn't it? What will it take for the long-suffering British license-payers to demand a change in the BBC coverage and, even before that, iin the personnel in charge of reporting on the Middle East and Islam? This domestic Lord Haw-Haw and Tokyo Rose business, where one need not even bother to turn the dial to Radio Berlin or Radio Tokyo to hear the sly propaganda, has to stop.

These are things that can be done, should be done, long before suggestions about "bombing Mecca" need to be bruited about.

Talk of attacking Mecca, instead of concentrating on more plausible suggestions (which do include limiting easy access to Mecca, something which the Saudis already do in limiting the number of visitors), is not likely to be helpful.

I wish these were my ideas, alas, I'm not that insightful. Fortunatly niether are the muslims, after a decade of separation from the west Islam would go back to being the relion of desert dwelling camel-jockeys who were of little or no consequence to the world as they are incapable of creating anything, they would starve. As for Israel, we should defend our "Little Satan" at any cost. I wish Bush spent more time with them, maybe some of their strategic thinking would rub off on him. IMHO he should let the Israelis plan all of his future wars in the ME. Rudy Giuliani for President in '08 a strong leader and smart too........

Posted by: Skeptic

Skeptic

The reason to believe that a Democrat wouldn't stand up against Iran is that the last one we had - Clinton - followed a policy of normalization, buying into the propaganda that Mohammed Khatami was a moderate. Here in J/W, we all know that the last thing we want is a moderate Muslim, since that's just someone who muddies the waters when it comes to comprehending the threat we face.

Also, bad as the Bush policy is, the Clinton policy on the war on terror was worse - to treat it as a law & order issue. When you have 50+ countries supporting the ideology that feeds and breeds terror, that's an impossible task, akin to trying to douse a fire with gasoline. If I saw one Democrat who is willing to declare a war on Islam, and do it with the same fervor as NARAL on abortion, PETA on animal rights, the Sierra Club on drilling anywhere, NOW on feminism, NAALCP on Affirmative Action, Human Rights Watch on Gay Marriage, et al, I am willing to hold my nose on all those other things and support it.

Just tell me - who is that Democrat? Or alternately, in what way would HRC's policy on Islam differ from her Islam-loving husband, who
- had the US fight a Jihad against Serbia
- imposed sanctions on India following its nuke tests
- pressurized Israel to return to its 1967 borders
- initiated the normalization of relations with Iran

Again, bad as Bush is, at least we are not fighting a Jihad on the Islamic side.

Infidel Pride "Again, bad as Bush is, at least we are not fighting a Jihad on the Islamic side."

Actually he is Infidel Pride he is going to recognize Kosovo independance. He still considers Pakistan a key ally. He is trying to get Iran not to develop nuclear weapons but says nothing to Pakistan. Bush is a coward. Standing up for Israel takes no balls. Saying he will do nothing for Israel takes balls. I am starting to hate bush as much as that piece of s**t bill clinton. Well not quite but almost. America is evil but not because it prosecutes muslims nations it only fights nations that fight islam, exept for Israel. Maybe its a start but I am not impressed.

pissedoffcanadian,

I am a new American citizen and since last six months or so, am feeling more and more disgusted with Bush, Cokdi and the gang. I was satisfied when Iraq was taken to task, not realizing that Bush had his personal agenda, which turned the Iraq war on it's head. I am convinced that had Bush's intents been noble, Iraq war was a noble one, but with the intent unclear (which is a sign of a weak mind), Bush seems lost. But more than that, Bush stinks more and more of treason. Appeasing Islam and Saudi, Vicente Fox and Mexicans, Nuclear blackmarketers Pakistan.. look at Bush's friends and you know where he stands. Finally, Bush drives his treason home by stabbing Americans in the back with more indirect taxes (aid to Pakistan, Hamas etc..). Take a fresh look and Bush looks more like an Ambassador from Islam, Mexico, tearing into American nation, as he knows best.

archduke:

Your instincts re: Bush may be pretty accurate.

A left-wing blogger with heavy trade union and activist credentials recently blogged on why he refused to demonstrate against the continuing US presence in Iraq and Afghanistan, but rather stayed home to toast the liberation of those nations from Saddam and the Taliban respectively. To bolster his opinion, he cited Karl Marx's writings about Lincoln and the prosecution of the Civil War, a very unpopular decision that divided families and cost many, many lives for the sake of ending slavery.

It will be very interesting indeed to look back at this era even 20 years hence, with all the revelations about Saddam's WMDs and support for Al-Qaeda, Russian and French duplicity, and, of course, the malevolent and imperialistic nature of Islam.

I am 100% with the President on this one.
(and see the beginnings of the giving Israel the "all clear" to do whatever it feels it must which is something I have been expecting but don't think will be fully realized for at least two years).

My only concern is the same as some posters above.

He talks strong.
I loved the comment the poster made about even Churchill admiring his language.

But those moments, while wonderful, tend to be snippets. His overall explanation of his course of action does not seem to be getting written up my the same team as his wonderful quotables.

The rest is murky, muddled, and all too often, misunderstood.

THEN, there is the fact that he talks so strong and doesn't always follow it up.

Port Deals, Saudi Pals, and Religion of Peace, don't quite match up with statements like
"if our enemies won't come to justice, we will bring justice to our enemies" any more than they do with his proclamations of being either for or against us, and fighting for freedom everywhere.

I know, I know, he has to deal with a lot of hard political realities. But still.

On this one at least I am not at all worried though. I think Bush means to defend Israel no matter the cost.

And even if he doesnt' -- I am quite sure Israel does....

;)

I see Kosovo coming up more and more frequently here and in other news pieces.

In the early 90's a wise old Serb told me to watch and wait. He (with both life and academic experience that still blows me away) was quite clear that WWIII had just started.

He pointed to both that regions connections to the other WW's and its importance as the traditional holding line between Christian Europe and the Islamic World.

He was certain we had just watched that long held line crumble hard and that it was just the first small bit of a major and (then) coming offensive.

He spoke of inevitable terrorism on U.S. soil (this was prior to the first World Trade Center attack. I can't do justice to his explanation. But suffice to say he said the war was with Islam rather than a particular nation.
As the years tick by, I often think of that day and the look on his face. He was certain. Very certain. And time seems to be proving him right.

Alert I agree with your post. I was someone who was happy Bush won his second term. Looking who he was running against I am not that upset but I sure am not happy now. I think he tapped into a large group of people who are fed up with Political Correctness, but it was all talk. He is behaving as bad as Clinton. I agree he is a traitor. I would be happy if he is impeached also. I just hope the Republicans get their shit together in 3 more years. If not things are going to get ugly. And if I was a country on the sidelines in the war on terror I would not pick sides until it is clear which way the states is going. Fighting terrorism can be bad for you nations health. Look at Kosovo. Apparently the US love terrorists as long as they attack others.

toleranceorappeasement interesting post I would lvoe to hear more about this. If you still talk to this old serb you should get him to send info our way.

It seems the common answer is "bomb the shit out of them!" Lets be a bit more humane and a bit smarter shall we? I understand you people have strong feelings about these issues often to the point of paranoia like with the ports deal. But you must realize that fighting Islam or rather the jihadist interpretation of Islam cannot be done through "nuking" or "bombing". You will just anger more people and provide the terrorist with ammunition much like the Abu Grahib incident did. I agree with toughness against terrorists, but it must be done less out in the open and more secretively. Work from the inside, so to speak. If we want security, it must be done this way. Whether you like it or not this is far more effective because it breeds complacency among the Jihadists. As for the Democrats, Bill Clinton was indeed a "softy" that does not mean every other Democrat is too, especially in today's world.

Rudy Giuliani for President in '08 a strong leader and smart too........

Skeptic:

How can you use the term humane when you talk about Muslims. Have you not read and viewed the years and years of murder and genocide done by Muslims????

If you think that you can deal in peace with Islam, mover to the Middle east and try.

Muslims only respect greater power and violence that is used against them. Being the most powerful nation in the world is meaningless to the Muslims because we have not used our power to stop Islam. They believe America to be essentially powerless to stop them after we failed to destroy Muslim cities and terror training camps across the Middle East after 9/11.

Wake-up and get a grip and realize this is a war for the very survival of your family, America and western civilizations against the horror of Islam.
