Senior Muslim clerics said Thursday that an Afghan man on trial for converting from Islam to Christianity should be killed regardless of whether a court decides to free him....But four senior clerics interviewed by The Associated Press in their mosques in Kabul said Rahman deserved to be killed for his conversion.
"He is not crazy. He went in front of the media and confessed to being a Christian," said Hamidullah, chief cleric at Haji Yacob Mosque.
"The government is scared of the international community. But the people will kill him if he is freed."
"He is not mad. The government is playing games. The people will not be fooled," said Abdul Raoulf, cleric at Herati Mosque. "This is humiliating for Islam. ... Cut off his head."
Raoulf is considered a moderate cleric in Afghanistan. He was jailed three times for criticizing the Taliban's policies before the hard-line regime was ousted by US-led forces in 2001.

It would seem that Islam is in a bit of a dillema over this so called apostasy. Trying to prove that it is indeed a peaceful religion will be so much difficult for them now. Thanks to this very brave Christian convert. A real dillema indeed. This is what we have here:-
1. According to sharia law - Rahman must die if he doesnt repent.
2. If he is freed due to international pressure - the judge will most probably die along with Rahman after the case is over - by (sharia) law abiding citizens.
3. In any case the judge has already committed himself to the death sentence for Rahman. So to do an about turn is highly unlikely.
4. If Rahman is convicted and sentenced to death then it will be known all over the world once and for all that Islam is not a religion of peace but a religion of death with laws that prove its barbarity. CAIR cannot side step anymore.
The light is being turned on and a people that were once in darkness are beginning to see clearly now as the ugliness of islam is being revealed in all its gory glory.

The oft-quoted mantra that Muslims are quick to quote from the Koran "there is no compulsion in religion" simply illustrates the issue of double-speak.
On the one hand the door to become a Muslim is very open and wide.

When you think of it, if the Muslims in the first place did not spread their religion via military conquests in its first centuries and left the Christian churches alone, then Christian Europe in the Middle Ages would not have had to do the crusades because the crusades, like or not, were done as a defensive measure to not only rescue the Christian shrines in the Holy Land, but to protect the Christian communities.
There are no extremist or moderate muslims as there is no extremist or moderate islam. Islam is the koran, hadith and sira, and they are not pacifist but extremely violent in thought and advocacy of same. Moderate muslims or ones of the Taleban type, are of the same opinion - Abdul Rahman is to be put to death for becoming a Christian. The only doctrinal difference is that moderates want to hang or behead him, and the extremists want to tear him limb from limb.
And yet we fail to see, as in the cartoon affair, or Besslan, 9/11 and the many filmed beheadings, that islam is worse then communism and Nazism combined. It is the gravest threat that civilisation has faced, and yet we coddle muslims in our midst, and let in millions more.
The PC rot is now so deep in Britain and the West that even if muslims living here set off a series of nukes in British cities, we will yet again hear the chorus of, "tiny minority, islam is a noble and peaceful religion hijacked by insurgents (militants maybe but extremists, never), etc etc. Then, "More must be done to integrate the muslim minority". More gift jobs, more civic centres for muslims etc etc. It appears sometimes that Western nations are in a race to see which one of them immolates itself first. Britain is a strong candidate in this Olympic event.

I brought his name up this morning during a Bible study that is held by our pastor, and we all prayed for him. He's weighed heavy on my heart all week.
However, I do not pity him. I pray that he will have the strength to endure his suffering, and to stand firm against the ravenous wolves who thirst for his blood. He apparently knows who he is up against, but he is on God's side, and God will not forsake him.
It also needs to be said that Abdul Rahman is but one of many thousands of Christian martyrs who suffer in the hands of these "tolerant" muslims every year. Tens of thousands are murdered in cold blood, or are dragged into these so-called "courts," where they are made to endure the lies of witnesses and double-talk of their judges. It is only by the grace of God that we are able to know about Abdul Rahman's plight, and that Christian martyrdom finally has a face.

Sadly, situations like these proves that there is a clash of civilizations going on, when Christians are not allowed to worship in peace.

There are other Christians in Afghanistan who are facing a similar fate as that of Abdul Rahman. Then ofcourse there is the continuing persecution and murder of Christians in muslim countries.
The saddest we know of is that of three little Christian girls on their way to school, beheaded and one of the heads dropped off in a local church. I will not ask you to picture the scene as they were cold-bloodedly beheaded and what kind of mindset is required to do such a thing.
I'm sure though there are many more such absolutely brutal incidents, particularly in southern Sudan. These muslims that engage in murder of the most brutish sort, feel no remorse as they are firm in the convition that they have the support of the wider islamic community and complete sanction from their religion. It is clear from the lack of any outrage from the wider muslim community, that they are right on both counts. It is for this reason that when caught, they show no remorse; far from it, they openly gloat at the distress of the relatives of the victims.
There is, again, as much chance of this man being executed as there is of Pat Robertson being selected as Imam of Kabul.
He's going to have to immigrate. Is it fair? No. Is it reasonable? No. But we knew going in that this was a primitive, pre-feudal tribal society which only by a stretch of the imagination could be even called civilized. Karzai and his successors are going to have to continue to finesse the interface between the crazy traditional ethic and the modern world for years if the country is ever going to be moved out of the Fourth Century and into the Twenty-first.

The problem of the apostasy and its sentence of death is not just a tribal Afghan one but extends throughout the islamic world and even in the West. There are plenty of muslims who have converted to Christianity or just left islam, and now live in fear of their lives, right here in Britain and the West.
I have known for decades that Freedom of expression would be jeopardised as muslim populations grew in the West. So it has turned out to be.

I have thought this over for a long time, and I have concluded that if Mr. Rahman is in executed by the Kabul government or murdered by an angry mob, his death will be a sacrifice that we will someday all be grateful for. Perhaps the rest of the non-Muslem world will then realize that Islam is not the "peaceful religion" as our President so disingenuously stated. I hope that Mr. Bush and Ms. Rice somehow get some backbone and change their public attitude. It is sad that our soldiers, sailors, and Marines have sacrificed so much in order to have an Afghanistan government that is merely "Taliban Lite." Iraq potentially will be another "republic in name only" just like Iran. When will the rest of the world understand that terrorism, jihad, and murder are mainstream tenets of Islam?
