El Al passenger planes will be barred from landing in some European countries because they have been equipped with defense systems against shoulder-held missiles, German newspaper Der Spiegel reported. The Swiss aviation authority has already barred El Al aircrafts equipped with the new system from landing in the country, and the German paper said more countries are expected to soon follow. "If we catch Israeli planes fitted with this system in our airports, they will be grounded," a spokesman for the Swiss aviation authority told Der Spiegel.The "Flight Guard" defense system is a military system that has been modified to fit civilian aircraft.
This battle-proven system is capable of detecting an approaching missile, warning the crew and automatically activating countermeasures in the form of flares that will divert the missile from its course.
The system has already been installed on a Boeing 767, and will soon be fitted on other planes as well.
'System will cause no damage'
According to defense sources in Israel, the European ban is "odd and based mostly on a misunderstanding." The officials say European countries are primarily concerned about false alarms that will result from the launching of decoy flares over central airports.
"Because these are unique flares, such a malfunction will cause no panic or collateral damages. Instead of thanking Israel, some countries prefer to stick their head in the sand," an Israeli source said...
Forgive my language but the word to describe these EU officials is simply "shmucks".
Every time I open JW/DW and read a new article demonstrating European duplicity, I am more flabbergasted. And then I remember who expedited the Holocaust, reneged on agreements to supply Israel with military equipment, and ushered in the age of Eurabia.
You have to really wonder at times whether or not some of these EU politicians are actually paid by Muslims or else blackmailed by them, as nothing else can explain the constant desire they have to kiss Islam's backside.
How they can totally ignore the rhetoric avalanching onto the media, the all too common (116 beheadings??? He beat the 2 japanese officers in Nanking)barbarity and the rabid or frothing mouth behaviour when you have more than one muslim in near proximity, is totally beyond my understanding. I used to laugh at the staged "demonstrations" by Communists at one place or another in years back but compared to these barbarians the poor old marxists seem like honest amateurs.
Don't these fools even watch TV or read newspapers on occasions? Or is passing a course in islamic disinformation and muslim anilingus now a prerequisite for western politicians?

Of course, once the first European airliner comes down via a missle, they'll be clamoring for Israel to supply them with the technology to protect their planes. Possibly even demanding it.
I hope those charged with American safety aren't being so stupid. (Yes, I know. You needn't say it.)
But the Americans are working as fast as they can to install similar systems -- are they not? And then what will happen? Will all of Europe be off-limits to the much larger number of Israeli planes? Do the governments of Western Europe think that they, alone among the Infidels, will remain immune to the Jihad, whether carried out through "terrorism" or the use of the "wealth" weapon, or "pen, speech" (propaganda, including Da'wa, or the latest entry, the demographic weapon, or -- as is happening all over the world -- a combination of such instruments of Jihad, with emphasis now on one, now on another, as possibilities present themselves?
Is this act perhaps something else -- a reflection of the power of the already-well intrenched members of the Islamintern, not always Muslim, but simply those who, from certain pre-existing mental conditions (to antisemitism and anti-Americanism, one must add another: a suicidal inattention to the nature, and therefore the menace to the Infidel world, of Islam)?
This is now something for the American government, through every kind of pressure, and especially at meetings of NATO, has to bring up.
And if the members of NATO cannot comprehend why such a defense system is not merely legitimate but to be welcomed and copied by others, then perhaps a rearrangement of the members of NATO, and of American participation, would be in order.
When are the euarabian politicians going to ban all the NATO aircraft with the same system? When are they going to ban all air traffic? Personally, I can't wait. When are they going to ban people from breathing and thinking (or have they already done that?)
Let them rot in their dhimmnitude and become as backwards as the muslim nations are.
The way I understood it, this is not about false alarms, but about the possibility of a diverted missile hitting objects or people on the ground.
Unlike downing a plane, this can apparently not be tolerated by the authorities!
Apart from the fact that a crashing plane would cause a lot more damage than a stray missile, this defense system would put the monkey were it belongs: on the shoulders of the local authorities, whose responsibility it is to prevent missiles to be fired in the first place.
I fail to see how this story relates to "Dhimmi-ism."
