Gunmen kills dozens of Iraqi Shiites

Sunni-Shi'ite jihad update from Reuters, :

Dozens of suspected Sunni insurgents have attacked a small town near Baghdad, killing at least 25 people.

Police have recovered the bodies of 21 mainly Shiite Muslim migrant workers.

Municipal council leader Alaa Abdul Sahab al-Lamy says the bodies had been found in a brick factory, while another four have been brought from the local power station....

"This was a sectarian attack," Mr Lamy said.

He says police fear further bodies might still be found at the brick plant.

"We understand there are bodies everywhere around the factory, in the fields," one Interior Ministry official in Baghdad said.

"The police cannot retrieve them all because they afraid to venture in without more military protection."

'50 gunmen'

Several police sources say more than 50 gunmen, believed to be Sunni insurgents allied to Al Qaeda and based in Diyala province, entered the town between 5:00pm and 6:00pm local time.

They attacked and destroyed the local power plant, killing nine people, before US and Iraqi Army units responded.

As the gunmen withdrew, they entered the brick factory and began killing people working there.

Mr Lamy says of the 21 people whose bodies have been recovered from the factory, is was a woman and three are children, including a girl aged about six.

Many of the dead have a single bullet wound to the forehead.

Many brick factories in the area, where Sunni insurgents have been very active, employ Shiite workers from southern Iraq.

l guess these insurgents are allowed to kill fellow muslims for working in their town! the koran says they can kill muslims who are working for infidels is what they will say, and its true.. but the pc news wont tell people that this is true in the koran...anyone want to dispute this?

The side that kills the most, and the youngest and can defend it with the Koran, wins.

Nothing to see here, just Islam finding it's pure center...

poetcomic1-

A six year old child is murdered, and you can't feel sadness and anger at such wanton brutuality?

Then how are you any different then the Pali suicide bombers that murder six year old Jewish children with chilling indifference?

treehugger, its up to the muslims to find out if they love their children more than they hate each other, non-muslims, etc....these words made famous by a past prime minister of Israel!

Even though it was Muslim insurgents that committed this massacre, the puppet Iranian terrorist in chief and his iman puppeteers will blame the United States and Israel.

treehugger-

This is the world they make for themselves and their children. Of COURSE I am not indifferent to children being murdered but I make the gut distinction between 'our' children and 'their' children. I care more about Americans that I do Iraqis and I always will.

I care more about the fireman who lived next door to me in New York and that I used to wave to and chat with and was burned alive on 9/11 then I do about someone who is of another culture that despises me as an American.

Are you really under the delusion that we can make any difference or should even try to when this age old hatred explodes in all its ugliness? I have traveled extensively in the Arab world. I know how much children are valued there. You would not believe how little boys and girls are routinely sexually molested by male cousins, brothers uncles etc. it is common among the poor (i.e. 90% of population). There's really only one sacred rule - leave the little girls intact. Women are utterly disempowered to prevent this predation from males within the family. What sheer hell. Don't waste your tears - do you think the West can change this?

But where else does one try to change things except in places where they are not right?

Doctors treat the diseased, not the healthy.

treehugger-

Who made you the 'doctor' for the world's problems? An unqualified doctor can be much worse than no doctor at all. This is the arrogance of the 60's generation and the New Left. The assumption that 'the world' needs to be blessed by their oh-so-valuable 'compassion'. Compassion that is a cleverly disguised contempt.

Nope, I don't have that high an opinion of my own abilities.

However, I do know that an untreated disease tends to spread.

The Palis are exporting their problems to Israel, aren't they? And the disease intensifies, spreads among the younger generation, and continues to grow like a cancer.

In the most selfish of terms, putting our heads together to solve this is in all our interests.(Not through foolish financing of dysfuntional behaviors, btw).

What is your solution?

But where else does one try to change things except in places where they are not right?

The disease of Islam needs to be cut out with nukes so the remaing part of the world can live in peace with each other.

The Texican.

Freedom, the only choice.

The Shia and Sunni sects of the cult of Islam have been warring for over 1500 years, pull our troops out, cut our losses and let the civil war begin.

When there is a final victor, then war with them until they sue for peace and join the civilized world.

you show them the way, they chose to become part of the human race and civilized or you kill them, and or let them kill each other.. l have come to the conclusion that we need to educate more non muslims than muslims.. the smart logical muslim once educated enough to know the difference will leave islam, the dumb ones chose to remain, and must be sent to their allah anywhich way they can.

Positive behavior needs to be rewarded somehow, but if the sane are outnumbered by the insane, guess who will be killed off first? Ayan Hirsi Ali would be toast in any Muslim nation, yet she is one of the leaders in the fight against extremism. Or what about the voice of conscience in Iran, Ganji? Or Mohammed at Iraq the Model, who wept with joy when he voted in a free election for the first time? Are we going to let the healthy future of the Muslim world be destroyed by madmen? Even 13% of the Palestinians don't agree with the the destruction of Israel, but what are their chances under the current regime? Probably about the same as those of their Christian neighbors.

The world needs the creation of an Arab Israel, where only those who commit to secular republican priniciples are allowed to settle. A safe haven for those who wish to become part of the modern world, without compromising the safety of the west.

Yep, there goes the RoP® again.

From Iraq the Model

As we predicted in our Wednesday post, Jafari's visit to Turkey did complicate the political process in a bad way.

It's not news that from the beginning, Kurds, Sunni and secular blocs weren't comfortable with the UIA's nomination of Jafari but the latter's latest suspicious step pushed them to declare their opposition and officially ask the UIA to nominate someone other than Jafari to head the cabinet.

Of course the UIA rejected this request, Jawad al-Maliki the Dawa party 2nd man said on TV today that the "UIA will not change their candidate and the other parties will have to accept our choice".

The Kurds, Sunni and seculars will still have a chance to force the UIA to replace Jafari because their votes are necessary for approving the cabinet.

What really worries me here is that the UIA knows this mechanism which is stated in the constitution yet they refuse to change their mind which makes one suspect they have no intention to compromise and they want to do some arm-twisting telling the others to 'either accept Jafari or face the danger of halting the entire political process'. They're playing a very dangerous game that only those who don't care for the unity of the country would dare play.

The feeling that the UIA does not care much for a united Iraq is not something I made up, because this is what newspapers that speak for the UIA are saying. Here are 5 points that al-Bayina al-Jadeeda listed yesterday and described as the "demands of the people of the south".

1-Accelerating the political process and rejecting any opposition for the will of the Umma and forming the government according to election results.

2-Reforming the judicial system and dismissing the corrupt judges and working on punishing the Saddamists, terrorists and Ba'athists.

3-The Kurds must refrain from confronting the will of the Umma as they shared the suffering with us during the days of the past regime.

4-Ousting the Saddamists from the political process and this must include those who speak in Saddam's language.

5-The people will cut off the riches of the south from the Saddamists and the Kurds and anyone who opposes the will of the Umma.

Point #2 is actually much more dangerous than it may seem to the foreign reader; rplacing 'corrupt' judges with 'good' judges cannot be done overnight because it requires years to prepare judges. This point is in fact a hidden call for replacing civil courts with Sharia courts because Sharia courts headed by clerics are way faster in making decisions and executing the unwanted elements; just like Muqtada's Sharia courts in Najaf executed dozens people in a matter of days.

Also note that in the last point the terms south and Kurds are geopolitical terms which make me believe that "Saddamists" here refers to the Sunni center.

The UIA always say that the choice of the majority must be respected and I see nothing wrong in this principle but in this case the leaders of the UIA are contradicting themselves and are violating the very same principle they long defended. They are forgetting (or pretending to be forgetting) the fact that the calls for replacing Jafari reflects the will of the majority represented by the Kurdish, Sunni and secular blocs which collectively have 53% of the seats in the parliament.

The UIA have made it clear that what they want is to either rule the whole country in the way like or rule part of Iraq in the way they like; more precisely in the way their religious references in Najaf and Tehran.
I'm not sure if you're familiar with this but did you know the internal charter of the SCIRI states that the party reports to the Murshid, who currently is Khamena'i?

What makes me cynical about the UIA is that the Shia parties endorse taqiyya which allows them to express false attitudes other than the ones they really adopt for the sake of preserving the 'faith' until they are strong enough to declare their real hidden stance.

They can prove this is a wrong impression; they still have the chance to accept sharing power with others and make compromises. Unfortunately that seems unlikely at this point.

_________

If only 13% of the Palestinians do not agree with the destruction of Israel, then ---- 87% ----- of the Palestinians want Israel destroyed as does the other 87% of Islam. This is also true for 87% of Islam that also wants to destroy America.

You can not force feed democracy down a nation's throat until you utterly destroy that nation as was done to Germany and Japan who have become democratized and civilized. Islam has not yet been utterly destroyed.

How many innocents were murdered on 9/11 by Muslims? The Muslims danced in the streets across Islam after the Towers fell.

How many innocents were murdered at Beslan by Muslims??

How many innocents were murdered and injured in Britain and Spain by Muslims???

How many Christians have been murdered in Africa by Muslims????

There have been over 4,500 acts of murder by Islam across the world since 9/11.

You can not have peace with the nation of Islam for Islam does not want peace but world enslavement. If America falls to Islam, Tree Hugger, you and your family will become Muslim –female Muslims have no rights -, become a slave and for infidel women and infidel girls this means sexual slaves to all Muslim men or be murdered. Which one of these do you chose???

Mohammed told his followers to make treaties with their enemies that are stronger than they are until they become strong enough to overthrow and kill their enemies. Muslims lie about everything to gain the enslavement of the world.

You can believe in the lies of the Muslims or join in the fight against Islam and hopefully we will defeat Islam before it can conquer America.

I and tens upon tens of millions of other Americans and freemen across the world believe that it is better to die free than to ever bow to Islam or any other oppressive government.

Freedom or death. No other choice.

The Texican.

"But where else does one try to change things except in places where they are not right?"

Treehugger, for me the problem is that the west just doesn't have the resources or ability to fix everyone's problems. I do feel sad and angry that people are being killed and abused. I also feel pretty helpless about it. On top of that, we're so dependent on oil that we're forced to trade with evil regimes, actually supporting them.

So at the moment I'd support a policy of non-Islamic countries getting out of Islamic ones, not wasting resources on them, trading only food for oil while seriously developing sustainable their own energy sources. We could support genuinely progressive NGOs in Muslim countries where possible. Add this to taking all necessary steps to stop them gaining nuclear weapons and committing terrorist acts in non-Islamic countries. And, of course, we must find ways to stop the Islamist 'threat from within' by sensible immigration, integration and deportation policies.

At least they could no longer accuse us of interfering in their countries.

I notice that the mainstream media is using the word "sectarian" attacks and "sectarian" violence, while studiously and ceaselessly avoiding naming what is really going on: "Islamic religious violence".

Why not call it "religious" carnage and chaos? These so-called "sects" are not groups on pre-religious cargo cultists or godless cannibals or secular humanists, they are ALL members of the supposed "religion of peace".

This total avoidance by the media of even naming what is happening in Iraq as religious warfare- keeps the entire murderous theocratic struggle so vague, and so unable-to-be-focused-on, that the true nature of Islam's violent core is "disappeared"" from the equation.

"Sectarian" is the neutral mask that the Press puts on murderous Islamic extremism.

"Muslim on Muslim violence" may be too brutally insensitive a concept for these fainting goats of p.c. unreality.

But it ain't Bahais blowing up mosques, or Mormons machine-gunning sleeping laborers.

Note to MSM:

It's the Islam, stupid!
