Hizb-ut-Tahrir spokesman charged in Denmark

Hizb-ut-Tahrir is an Islamic group that has stated in the past that it wants to establish the caliphate by "peaceful" means. The content of these leaflets, however, demonstrates how hollow that claim of being "peaceful" was -- and why H-u-T and other Islamic groups that share the same goals as violent jihadists should be regarded by Western authorities in exactly the same way they regard those who are plotting violent actions. "Islamic Group Spokesman Charged in Denmark," from AP, with thanks to Fjordman:

COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AP) - A radical Islamic group spokesman has been charged with threatening the government for distributing a leaflet urging Muslims to ``eliminate'' rulers that prevent them from joining the Iraq insurgency, a Danish prosecutor said Monday.

The leaflets, from the Danish chapter of Hizb ut-Tahrir, called on Muslims to travel to Iraq to join the insurgents fighting coalition troops. They also urged Muslims to ``eliminate your rulers if they stand in your way'' - a phrase prosecutors interpret as a direct threat to the Danish government.

I found this story through the excellent blog Western Resistance:

http://www.westernresistance.com/

Looks like the Danes are provoking the muslims again.
Time for some more good old-fashioned rioting and embassy burning.
Will the Danes never learn?

Interesting, Fjordman.

However, I think "idiotic leftist windbag who knows nothing about Islam or anything else" is a fairly extreme characterization of Prince Charles.

I was disgusted by the story, too, and when it comes to Islam Charles clearly has no clue.

But "leftist"? This is a man who has frequently angered the left - for example, by talking of "culturally disinherited young people" and "shallow-rooted" education.

Furthermore, I'm not sure how the 29-year-old (according to his profile on the site) who wrote that presumes to know that the man knows "nothing about anything else" either.

``eliminate your rulers if they stand in your way''

I wonder how many Danes have heard about this, and are considering buying these Muslims one-way tickets back to Iraq...

"ABDUL RAHMAN, a 41-year-old Afghan, was a Muslim for 25 years before he began working for an international Christian group (ICG) helping his fellow countrymen in Pakistan. Within a couple of years he had converted to Christianity".

I cannot agree with the death sentence...that's just barmy.

I also think it's sick that his family dobbed him in....but you cannot hang with the same rope as the guilty.

And I do ask myself "why did he convert"? The ICG had obviously been bending his ear somewhat? What did they threaten him with? A man having 25years of Islam would not *willingly* convert.

Now they have put his life in danger. Obviously democracy is someway off in Afganistan....

From now on the ICG must have minimal contact or their policy must not include lessons in conversion or comparisons of faith ...particularly with the womens....this simply makes Islam look bad.....and there's no need for that.

You've baited the line, Nas. Who do you think is gonna bite today?

In previous posts I've stated the following: If you have HT in your neighborhood, you have serious trouble coming. HT is portrayed as a missionary organization, spreading teachings and building mosques, but that's a thin cover for a seriously dangerous bunch of vermin. If you read their pubs, they read almost like Marxist tracts, and it's hard not to believe that they didn't just do a word replacement to old tracts to create them. The tracts are full of those passive constructions-- "The infidel government will then go away," etc., without any suggestion of the violence that would inevitably be involved. Good for Denmark.

/cheer for the Danes

You can keep your Salams where the sun never shines, Naseem. This man's life was not endangered by ICG. It's endangered by the Religion of Intolerance.

I guess it's just an unbearable thought for you that, having worked in close concert with Christians for a number of years, this man may have seen a quality sadly lacking in Islam, as have had other converts from Islam like Walid Shoebat, self-described former terrorist operative of the PLO and Noni Darwish, daughter of a man honoured by the Egyptian president for perpetrating terror against Israeli citizens.

Instead of bothering us here with inane comments, go check out memri.org for Wafa Sultan's rebukes to Islamic "scholars". Not all Muslims exhibit your intellectual myopia about the stunningly negative impact your faith has had on its adherents.

Waterdragon: Many who have moved from Islam to Christianity have done so because of the different ethic they see from--you guessed it--relief workers who, while not actively proselytizing, are often identifiable as Christians by prayers, lifestyle, habits, etc. Further, if some Muslim has decided to change religions on the basis of having read the New Testament, most Christians are going to see that as a real conversion, and feel an obligation to show welcome.

Kepha:

As far as I know, the only subjects of aggressive "Christian" proceltyzing efforts are Jews and only by certain supposedly Christian organizations that are obsessively milenialist.

The leaflets, from the Danish chapter of Hizb ut-Tahrir, called on Muslims to travel to Iraq to join the insurgents fighting coalition troops.
So it appears that in Denmark the Bush Honeypot Doctrine is working splendidly.

Bravo my Danish comrades, keep showing the rest of the West what it really is to be brave. I am an old man but I admire you defense of Western values and civic rights.

I will keep encouraging my friends and family ( I have six children and 16 grandchildren), to buy Danish products.

Perhaps a vacation in Copenhagen, it would be a nice place for the El CId clan to visit.
