A HOMEMADE bomb has exploded outside a Hindu temple in Poso, just a day after Indonesia's Government extended its security crackdown on religious extremists in the divided province.
And they don't mean Methodists.
The pipe bomb lifted the roof of the building and caused the wooden walls to collapse, Poso deputy police chief Major Andreas Wayan said. A guard was wounded."Whoever did this was trying to create panic and spread terror," he said.
"There was iron shrapnel everywhere."
The blast occurred just a day after top security minister Widodo Adi Sucipto, Defence Minister Juwono Sudarsono and military chief Air Marshall Djoko Suyanto agreed to extend a security operation in Poso by another three months.
Poso is largely divided between Christians and Muslims, and bloody clashes between members of the two faiths killed about 1000 people in 2001 and 2002.
It also has a small number of Hindus.
Must be those pesky Christians rising up again.

I remember being in a small taxi in Cairo, seated next to an Egyptian who looked middle class and educated. He struck up a conversation with me. It was then that I noticed a cross tatooed into his wrist. I asked him "You are a Christian?" He immediately covered his wrist and looked nervous. After some silence, he said "It is sometimes dangerous for us here."
Coptic Christians, historically subjected to kidnappings and forced conversions, adopted the custom of tatooing the cross onto their infants' wrists.
On another occassion, yet another Cairene said "I live in Australia now," and then, motioning with his head towards a burka-clad young woman walking behind an angry-looking, fat older man, "because of people like that."
Every church (and the one synagogue) I passed was manned with armed soldiers. There have been numerous massacres of Christians over the years, and churches are often the focal points of Muslim attacks. I understood why the Christian population is shrinking, and why only Jews 100 of the former Jewish population of 60,000 remain.
This appears to be the situation wherever the "religion of peace" reigns.

Then, they need to get busy and start working that nasty 20% number down down down. This could be done by herding all Moslems to the nearest border, and then bringing up the infantry, barrels pointing out.

I am sick of hearing the media report that the christians and Muslims gangs are fighting.. In the Moluccan islands this was also reported, it was not mentioned that the Muslims gangs had guns and were chasing the christians who had sticks into the hills to slaughter them... It didnt mention how the Christians had pleaded to the UN for help, of which non came...
